PHP - How To Get Browser Name When Page Request Is Sent By Typing Url

Hi all,

I'm using PHP and MS-SQL and i'm trying to make a search input text field. For example the user writes P in one country field and i need that appears a dropdown with the name of countries that start with P, for example, Portugal, Poland and so on. Then user can choose one of them. How can i do this?

I spent the last hour or so typing this code up, and for some reason I am getting a query error. I have reviewed & revised the code up and down for the past half hour and can't seem to figure out the problem.

Can someone look after this for me and tell me what I could be doing wrong?

Yes, I know my code is a bit sloppy and may use bad practice techniques, but it works for me.

It has nothing to do with PHPMailer, I of course edited the variables just now so all my info wouldnt be public, but everything is fine untill you press submit & I get the or die() error message "Error querying database".

What the hell did I do wrong? Is it possible that I cant name variables in the format I used with most of them ($var1 = $_POST['var[desc]']; ?

i am facing issue with DB connection with Oracle DB 

able to telnet and connect DB from [RHEL] OS command prompt also when i am executing php command with php filename, i am able to connect to the database. 

i am getting err 500 when trying to open php page from front end.

Hi, I'm new. I have been searching for this, but couldn't find my answer ...

I've got a form on page A, with its 'action' attribute set to page B.php.
Page B does nothing but process the form data & put it in a database.
At the bottom of B.php there's a header redirect to page C. 

My problem is that page B shows up briefly in the browser, looking all blank and weird. Is there a sensible way around this? I just want it to do its stuff in the background.

I realise I should be Ajaxing it all but, apart from the fact that I struggle with Ajax operations longer than a couple of lines, it's important that the site should work without javascript.

I have a PHP file in /var/www/html/ called foobar.php with the following content:

From the backend I can run php foobar.php.  It works as expected.  When I browse to my website and go to foobar.php, the /tmp/output file does not receive anything.  

I set the permissions of the foobar.php file to different settings.  I set the owner and group of foobar.php and /tmp/output to different values.

I tried modifying the httpd.conf file.  When I placed this stanza in the httpd.conf file

I could not restart the httpd service.  I tried using just

  But this failed too.  

I thought PHP would interpret the file regardless of how I access it (e.g., via a web page and with the php command from a Linux terminal).  How do I get PHP to invoke a Bash command when someone visits a .php web page?

Please, take a look to the following code.After clicking Next it goes to overview.php.Why when I click back on my browser to return to this page again, it is not returning back? When I click back I receive "Confirm Form Resubmission" message. After refreshing page it loads page.
I guess problem is in "session_start();" part. Something to do with cookies.

Hi Everyone

First off I don't know PHP except the includes statement which I use regularly to make the site a little easier to update.

But anyways am having an issue. I am trying to make a standard template page. On a prior site I had it set up this way with the code I will post below and it worked for me but I have tried to implement it on this site and am not having any luck.

Few things on the code below. It was designed for another site. So what I need is as follows. The home page should bring up the default index.txt file. That has the home page info on it. Second the code below has a table in the coding as I required a table on my site so that is in the code but for this site don't need the table. There is also one image in the code. That too is no longer required.

I will just leave these in place that way you can see the code I am working with so you can hopefully correct it to work for me as I am going nuts trying to get this to work.

Also somewhere in the coding it seems maybe there is an open link tag as I did get this to work a little bit but for some reason when it was the TXT file information was also being made to be a link even though the txt file for time being only contains basic text no coding what so ever.

Now what I need is as follows. Default home page TXT file loaded when home page loads. But the link below is what I was using for my site and when this was clicked it would load the TXT file for that page so the example link below would open up a members page that was associated with my message board I was using.

I'd like to use an application that's not browser based, on Internet Explorer. I've read somewhere that this is possible with a PHP script, but which one? If you can get me on the right track, I'd really appreciate it. Cheers.

But I get an invalid request.

myTest is over a self signed ssl certificate and with basic authentication. Maybe the problem resides there or in the request itself.

Hi, I don't know very much about php.
I don't know any at all, actually. I play a game called Roblox where you get to use the programming languange, "Lua" to script your own games. What I am requesting has been done before on this game, but I only know Lua. I was also told PHP cURL is needed. Anyways, let me get to the point. I am essentially trying to create a system on my webserver (You can send HTTP Requests to external sites in this game via script) that will essentially log into an account on Roblox, to perform a task. My current idea would be to have the Lua script send a request to my webserver with an generated code that would access the username and password of my roblox account (Which would be on the webserver). It would then perform a task.

Is this a good way to go about this? If not, I am open to suggestions. If you can find the time to actually help me set this up on my webserver, I would greatly appreciate it!
