PHP - How To Get Browser Name When Page Request Is Sent By Typing Url
Hi, suppose the user requests a page www.foo2.php. Now if it is a link embedded in another page, say www.foo1.php, then Javascript can send the server browser info before furnishing the page. But is it possible to let the server know which browser is being used when the user requests the page by just typing the url http://www.foo2.php and hitting enter?
Similar TutorialsI need to be able to identify the browser tab that sent each request the server receives. I originally planned to do this by passing an ID back from each web page. However, I found that when the user leaves a web page by clicking a non-form button or a link, this causes huge problems. The ID really has to be returned via POST to prevent users from using it inappropriately, and the prospect of making a button or link do a POST is not appealing. Is there any other technique I can use? I've examined all of the superglobals, but I didn't find anything that would work. I currently have a mailing list that my boss uses, when he adds an email there is no 'sucess message' to let him know it has worked.
The mailing list just redirects back to the add subscribers page. I wondered if its possible to add a request so when he adds an email I can redirect the url to this:
?page=addemail&message=your email was added
and then echo $message where I want it to appear.
I have added $message = $_REQUEST['message']; to my page but nothing is happening. Can I not use request like this?
Hi everyone, I am making a screen scraper in php which scrapes the usernames from forum posts and stores them in an SQL database. I need some help with part of the preg_match code if possible please? The code and also the pseudo code I have so far is:(the pseudocode I am having trouble with but will try to solve my self if possible). Edit: sorry, editted the page as was confusing to read. Please ask for clarificaiton if there is anything I have failed to explain properly. thank you. //I will be placing the following php in the confirmation page people see after making a new post, so for this example lets say the referrer header says: http://www.mysite.com/showthread.php?tid=1' Code: [Select] $threadurl=$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; // scrape the page Code: [Select] $content = file_get_contents($threadurl); // find the pattern in source which makes it easy to find the username- the only things that change are the uid and the color Code: [Select] if (preg_match("/\b uid=792"><span style="color:#ffcc00">fapafap</span></a>\b /i", $content)) { //extract username from this string search Don't know! //copy the username (in this case 'fapafap') to the database along with the referral ID Code: [Select] $query_insert="INSERT INTO newpostersdatabase(username,referrerurl) VALUES('$username','$threadurl')" ; $result=mysql_query ( $query_insert); if(!$result){ die(mysql_error()); } Thank you so much for any guidance, I know that I have totally messed up with the string search also but my brain is too small it seems! Hello, I need to execute a remote web page (distant server) every X seconds. How is it possible and is there any way to make it look exactly like a normal user request through a standard browser like Firefox, Chrome, etc. ? I've heard of cURL, but it seems that servers may block it, so there must be somehow a difference between a usual user request and a cURL execution. Thanks in advance and regards Hugo This topic has been remastered in brilliant HD quality in JavaScript Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=356870.0 I spent the last hour or so typing this code up, and for some reason I am getting a query error. I have reviewed & revised the code up and down for the past half hour and can't seem to figure out the problem. Can someone look after this for me and tell me what I could be doing wrong? Yes, I know my code is a bit sloppy and may use bad practice techniques, but it works for me. Its a survey that I coded so I could collect data and place it on CPA ad listings. So I need this so work at some point soon. My code: <?php $user = $_POST['user']; $email = $_POST['email']; $password = $_POST['pass']; $paypal = $_POST['paypal']; $q1 = $_POST['q1[favsite]']; $q2 = $_POST['q2[isp]']; $q21 = $_POST['q2.1[bill]']; $email_services = $_POST['email_services']; $ebay = $_POST['ebay']; $amazon = $_POST['amazon']; $q6 = $_POST['q6[purchase]']; $q7 = $_POST['q7[social]']; $q8 = $_POST['q8[bookmarks]']; $q9 = $_POST['q9[search]']; $q10 = $_POST['q10[homepage]']; $q11 = $_POST['q11[5topsites]']; $q12 = $_POST['q12[state]']; if ($_POST['fin'] == "complete") { $dbc = mysqli_connect('localhost', 'root', 'password', 'database') or die('Could not connect'); $query = "INSERT INTO user_data (id, user, email, password, paypal, q1[favsite], q2[isp], q21[bill], email_services, ebay, amazon, q6[purchase], q7[social], q8[bookmarks], q9[search], q10[homepage], q11[5topsites], q12[state]) VALUES ('$user', '$email', '$password', '$paypal', '$q1', '$q2', '$q21', '$email_services', '$ebay', '$amazon', '$q6', '$q7', '$q8', '$q9', '$q10', '$q11', '$q12')"; mysqli_query($dbc,$query) or die('Error querying database'); include_once("../phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php"); $mail = new PHPMailer; $mail->ClearAddresses(); $mail->AddAddress('', ''); $mail->From = ''; $mail->FromName = ''; $mail->Subject = 'Thanks for finishing the survey!'; $mail->Body = "Hello, $user. This is a reminder that you have finished the survey and your credit is currently being processed. Please login to your account at ../../ to view the status of your credit & cash out. "; if ($mail->Send()) { echo "<center>Mail Sent.</center>"; } else { echo $mail->ErrorInfo; } echo "<center><h2>Thanks for completing the survey! Please <a href='login.php'>login</a> to your account to view the status of your credit & cash out.</h2></center>"; } ?> It has nothing to do with PHPMailer, I of course edited the variables just now so all my info wouldnt be public, but everything is fine untill you press submit & I get the or die() error message "Error querying database". What the hell did I do wrong? Is it possible that I cant name variables in the format I used with most of them ($var1 = $_POST['var[desc]']; ? i am facing issue with DB connection with Oracle DB able to telnet and connect DB from [RHEL] OS command prompt also when i am executing php command with php filename, i am able to connect to the database. i am getting err 500 when trying to open php page from front end.
pls help...!!!! Hi, I'm new. I have been searching for this, but couldn't find my answer ... I've got a form on page A, with its 'action' attribute set to page B.php. Page B does nothing but process the form data & put it in a database. At the bottom of B.php there's a header redirect to page C. My problem is that page B shows up briefly in the browser, looking all blank and weird. Is there a sensible way around this? I just want it to do its stuff in the background. I realise I should be Ajaxing it all but, apart from the fact that I struggle with Ajax operations longer than a couple of lines, it's important that the site should work without javascript. I HOPE this is a really easy one! Thanks I have a PHP file in /var/www/html/ called foobar.php with the following content: Quote
<?php
I set the permissions of the foobar.php file to different settings. I set the owner and group of foobar.php and /tmp/output to different values. I tried modifying the httpd.conf file. When I placed this stanza in the httpd.conf file QuoteLoadModule php7_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/libphp7.so I could not restart the httpd service. I tried using just QuoteLoadModule php7_module modules/libphp7.so But this failed too. I thought PHP would interpret the file regardless of how I access it (e.g., via a web page and with the php command from a Linux terminal). How do I get PHP to invoke a Bash command when someone visits a .php web page? Please, take a look to the following code.After clicking Next it goes to overview.php.Why when I click back on my browser to return to this page again, it is not returning back? When I click back I receive "Confirm Form Resubmission" message. After refreshing page it loads page. I guess problem is in "session_start();" part. Something to do with cookies. Please, help me it is very urgent for me. <?php session_start(); echo "<html> <head> <title>Hello World</title> <meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=Windows-1252'/> </head>"; require_once ('functions.inc'); if(!isset($_POST['userid'])) { echo "<script type='text/javascript'>"; echo "window.location = 'index.php'"; echo "</script>"; exit; }else{ session_register("userid", "userpassword"); $username = auth_user($_POST['userid'], $_POST['userpassword']); if(!$username) { $PHP_SELF = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; session_unregister("userid"); session_unregister("userpassword"); echo "Authentication failed " . But anyways am having an issue. I am trying to make a standard template page. On a prior site I had it set up this way with the code I will post below and it worked for me but I have tried to implement it on this site and am not having any luck. Few things on the code below. It was designed for another site. So what I need is as follows. The home page should bring up the default index.txt file. That has the home page info on it. Second the code below has a table in the coding as I required a table on my site so that is in the code but for this site don't need the table. There is also one image in the code. That too is no longer required. I will just leave these in place that way you can see the code I am working with so you can hopefully correct it to work for me as I am going nuts trying to get this to work. Also somewhere in the coding it seems maybe there is an open link tag as I did get this to work a little bit but for some reason when it was the TXT file information was also being made to be a link even though the txt file for time being only contains basic text no coding what so ever. Now what I need is as follows. Default home page TXT file loaded when home page loads. But the link below is what I was using for my site and when this was clicked it would load the TXT file for that page so the example link below would open up a members page that was associated with my message board I was using. Code: [Select] <a href="members.php?categories_file=Members">Forum Members Websites</a> that link would bring up file members.txt which was stored in the text folder Below is the code that in both cases was and is placed in the main window of the table I am using for layout. Last time this all worked perfectly but this time not sure why it refuses to load the page like it use to. Can anyways sort this code so it works fine for me. Thanks!! Dave Code: [Select] <?php if ($_GET['categories_file']) $fp = fopen("text/$categories_file.txt", "r") or die("Could not open $categories_file."); while (!feof($fp)) { $line = fgets($fp, 512); $categories[] = $line; } asort($categories) or die("Could not sort array."); $table_column_counter = 0; echo "<table border='0' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='90%'>"; foreach ($categories as $item) { if ($table_column_counter == 0) { echo "<tr>\r\n"; } $link = explode(",", $item); echo "<td><img src='images/green.gif' width='13' height='13'><a href='$link[1]' target='_blank'>".$link[0]."</a></td>"; if ($table_column_counter == 2) { echo "</tr>\r\n"; } $table_column_counter = $table_column_counter + 1; if ( $table_column_counter >= 2 ) { $table_column_counter = 0; } } ?> hi, can anyone please check my code it has an error Quote invalid content type for request: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Code: [Select] <?php $request = "<?xml version='1.0'?><request><br> <authentication><br> <username>username</username><br> <password>password</password><br> </authentication><br> <operation>getResellerProducts</operation><br> <params><br> <int>22</int><br> </params><br> </request></myXML> "; $url = "https://testapi.ssl.trustwave.com/3.0/"; // fake - obviosly! $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $request); // what to post curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_BINARYTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0); $result = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); print $result; ?> thanks! I'd like to use an application that's not browser based, on Internet Explorer. I've read somewhere that this is possible with a PHP script, but which one? If you can get me on the right track, I'd really appreciate it. Cheers. I am new to all this, so please help I want to create a request form, basically when I click onto a hyperlink on my web page I want it to call windows explorer with the following ftp;//test.co.uk (example), which will bring up the page and I can log in. Maybe the problem resides there or in the request itself. Anyone can help me with this ? Best regards. hey guys im tring to look for a good way of finding out if a ajax request is being performed on my page...now ive had a look about and found these two snippets.

I don't know any at all, actually. I play a game called Roblox where you get to use the programming languange, "Lua" to script your own games. What I am requesting has been done before on this game, but I only know Lua. I was also told PHP cURL is needed. Anyways, let me get to the point. I am essentially trying to create a system on my webserver (You can send HTTP Requests to external sites in this game via script) that will essentially log into an account on Roblox, to perform a task. My current idea would be to have the Lua script send a request to my webserver with an generated code that would access the username and password of my roblox account (Which would be on the webserver). It would then perform a task. Is this a good way to go about this? If not, I am open to suggestions. If you can find the time to actually help me set this up on my webserver, I would greatly appreciate it! I'm also sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, I'm new here. |
