PHP - Creating An Admin Interface, Info Required!
Hello guys, hope all of you are doing good. I want to ask a quick question . I have developed this track and trace application (php script) through which users can trace their shipment by entering a bill of lading number in the track and trace interface on our website and then the information stored in our database is displayed to them. Currently, what I do to add new or change the status of existing bill of lading numbers is that first I have to log in to the cPanel of my website, then I need to log in to phpmyadmin and then I can add new bill of lading numbers or change the number of existing bill of lading numbers. This is a pretty long way and I don't want to give the cPanel password to other employees so that they can do the job of entering bill of lading numbers. So I was thinking that can an interface be created through which any employee can add new or change the status etc. of the bill of lading numbers stored in the database without actually logging in to phpmyadmin? The interface would obviously be connected to the database and any new bill of lading number entered through the interface should automatically be stored in the database. And on the other hand, the bill of lading numbers which are already stored in the database, they can also be edited through this interface. Please let me know if such an interface can be created. And if yes, is there any tutorial on how this can be done? Thanks.

Okay, I'll make this short and sweet, and all side comments are irrelevant. I'm doing this for my own happies So using Facebook.com's API you can extract all of a specific user's friends in an array. Well I'm making a array check to see who on that users friend list was removed or deleted them that week using array_dif(); in this method: 1) User allows the application 2) Application catches the user's friends_id's in an array and stores them // this is where i'm having trouble, i'll come back to it 3) User then waits a few days and notices their friend count is no longer 400, it's now 399! 4) User logs into my application, and checks the previously uploaded array against their current array of friends. Okay now to the part i'm struggling with is, what would you do? Should i store them each uniquely in a database? Because some users have 4,000+ friends and that gets quite strenuous. OR! Should i save them into a txt file unique to that person's user_id. I kind of like the 2nd option, however it's less ( to my newbish mind ) customizable versus the sql_queries. Once again, i'd like to reiterate, i don't care that this is again Facebooks terms of service, it's for my own personal gain and just enjoy taking on projects in my spare time that force my brain to work hard. That's all, hope you excuse the typos and poor grammar. Typed this pretty quickly, any questions - feel free to ask! hello. I need your help please. I'm building logistics website with user panel and admin panel. I've done all login and register forms. now I want to : admin can add package with: tracking number , weight , cost , and declaration form. user can fill declaration form after admin add package to user panel. then admin can see the declared form. is it possible in php? thank you in advance I am just starting out with PHP. I have resorted to doing some custom PHP programming because the plug-INs for a CMS I am using need a little customization. The question I have is very simple and I am sure PHP programmers can answer this instantly. I have successfully declared a global PHP variable. All I need to know how to do for now is how to declare a button or a hyperlink or an input form element such that it can change the assignment of this variable. Hello, I use loads of different servers at work and they all run seperate services that I need to keep my stuff running. I want to build a simple webpage that will poll the services and display the current state by colour. EG have table that lists the services in green and have them turn red if the service stops unexpectedly. I can build the tables and stuff, I just don't know how to retrieve the state of a service. I've been messing about with some ideas but nothing is working. eg lets say I have two servers each with one service: service one | IP Address of server | RUNNING service two | IP Address of server | STOPPED Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks!! I built an application for a client of mine using PHPRunner about 3 years ago. It has functioned perfectly right up to today when they notified me that they were unable to Export any records. I have attached the error report that comes up when you run Export function. According to the report it is unable to find a file or path. I have been on to server with FTP client and all the paths, files and contents are present. Can anyone please give me any advise on what might suddenly cause this error after many years. All other functionality of the Database is fine. Many thanks, Carl. Edited August 1, 2019 by wscwt01 Spelling error Hello there, I didn't know where to post this topic. However, I'm curious to know if it's possible to add FTP web interface to our website for clients to login to and access our FTP Server we've setup on our server here at the office? Basically, we want to add a link to our homepage: www.slarc.com that will jump to a login screen and have a web interface where clients can download and upload files to that server? How might I go about this? Is there a script already written, all I found on google was software and remote FTP servers. We want to use our own. Thanks, Lorne I'm trying to add some data into my database through a form interface, but this form submits even when the page loads. This means the form submits regardless of the validation I have set in place, so every time the page is loaded, the database receives empty fields. Could you guys please help me with my problem? My question (which seems really basic and like I should know the answer but I can't seem to remember) is if you have an object instance in an if statement, how does that resolve? Will it resolve to true because there is an object there? I assume/think that would be the behaviour but I can't remember. Also, I'll point out the class I'm working with is Zend_Mail. From my understanding the send method will return an instance of $this upon success and will throw an exception on failure. The mail is being sent but the else block is executing anyway. I may just throw it in a try catch if that's better. Code: [Select] if ($mail->send()) { return true; } else { $NOTICE++; $NOTICESTR[] = "We were unable to e-mail an e-mail notification <strong>".$to["email"]."</strong>.<br /><br />A system administrator was notified of this issue, but you may wish to contact this learner manually and let them know their accommodation has been removed."; application_log("error", "Unable to send accommodation notification to [".$to["email"]."] / type [".$type."]. Zend_Mail said: ".$mail->ErrorInfo); } Thanks in advance. I'll check back in a bit. I've been searching high and low for some decent (actually, they can be crap, just be REAL) real-world examples of uses of abstract classes and interfaces. I've seen many design patterns, and I get the concept, but now I need to put them into practice. And I gotta say, I'm absolutely sick of class Animal, class Dog extends Animal, class Vehicle, class Van extends Vehicle examples. Those are CRAP for illustrating real uses of the functionality given to us by OOP. It's one thing to teach a concept, and it's another to put into use within a real application. I can only find the former and the not the latter. Does anyone have any links to, or can they post their own examples of, abstract classes and interfaces in use? Hello! I have sim card, how can we integrate it with server and use web interface to send sms and other requests, all handled via PHP?? Just an idea will be appreciated. thanks watsmyname
No idea how to add a new line so it's easier to read in the terminal. Debugging this way is absolutely horrible.
Edited by Monkuar, 03 December 2014 - 09:06 AM. Hello, Do you know where I can download a nice looking PHP admin dashboard for free? Thanks in advance for the help So i got my login down and the cookies, kinda set up my problem is how do i make the admin panle save the true/false in the string in settings.php id like do do it with a drop down menu to enable/disable it. any help? Code download Hi, I am new here 🙂 I have been learning PHP and am currently working on my own OOP MVC CMS. I am up to the stage where I would like to start working on the admin area, but I am not sure how best to organise things. Should I create admin specific Controllers and Models? In Views, should I create a sub directory Admin, and place all admin view templates within it? Are there any good books on OOP/MVC you would recommend?
Hey, in a nutshell the only thing in admin.php is the ability to moderate unapproved images, however, once approved, the "Approve Delete" links are still on screen. How it works is a user uploads an image, the filename is added to mysql and the image is added to uploads/ once I Approve an image, the image is then moved to img/ to display on the index.php (to prevent porn and anything that doesn't belong to the general public). I know what's happening, because I've got while loops to display the image while looping through the mysql database, so once the image is moved, the links are still on screen, displaying an "Approve Delete" for every image in the database. Also another thing that happens is the images on index.php are blank until approved. How can I work around this? Here is the index.php when an image hasn't been approved: http://www.xodiac.net/1.png And here is the admin.php displaying Approve and Delete once an image has been approved: http://www.xodiac.net/2.png Hey guys, I've set up a database with a login and logout script for my site.. There is a TINYINT value called admin and it either equals 1 or 0 depending on whether the user is an admin or not.. The registration script works perfectly to create the table value and the login script works fine for the site.. The question I had was if I wanted to add a link to the bottom of every page that said: Go to Administration Panel and make it only viewable by ADMINS I figured this little script would work.. Here would be the end of the page: Code: [Select] <br /> <center>Copyright © 2010 <a href="http://www.website.com">www.WEBSITE.com</a></center> <?php include('includes/start_admincheck.php'); ?> <center><a href="<?php echo $homedir .'admin.php'; ?>">Go to Administration Panel</a></center> <?php include('includes/end_admincheck.php'); ?> </body> </html> Inside start_admincheck.php I have: (NOTE: $cUsername refers to a setcookie and $cAdmin does as well.. They are defined on my Variable page included at the top.) Code: [Select] <?php include('variables/variables.php'); ?> <?php mysql_connect("$mysql_hostname", "$mysql_username", "$mysql_password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("$mysql_database") or die(mysql_error()); if(isset($cUsername)) { $check = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '$cUsername'")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { if (($cAdmin == 1) && ($info['admin'] == 1)) { ?> And this is the end_admincheck.php Code: [Select] <?php include('variables/variables.php'); ?> <?php } else die(); } } else die(); ?> ?> I get this Parse error thrown at the bottom of the page: Code: [Select] Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /*******/includes/start_admincheck.php on line 15 Naturally I would checkout line 15 in start_admincheck.php, but normally when I get an $end error it is the last line of the code and leaves me lost.. Something I'm missing guys? As always, thanks in advance Hallo I have a problem.
This is my code:
<?php include 'connect.php'; ?> <html> <head> <title>Admin Insert page!</title> </head> <body> <?php error_reporting(-1);ini_set('display_errors',1); if (isset($_POST['submit'])){ $name = $_POST['name']; $password = $_POST['password']; $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE user='$name' AND password='$password'"); $num = mysql_num_rows($result); if($num == 0){ echo "Bad login, go <a href='login.php'>back</a>"; }else{ session_start(); $_SESSION['name'] = $name; header("Location: admin.php"); } }else{ ?> <form action='login.php' methody='post'> Username: <input type='text' name='name'/><br /> Password: <input type='password' name='password'/><br /> <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Login' /> </body> </html>I try to use console to find the problem but I didn't.... I know that there is some problem with $num Can somebody help me? Thank you. Edited by Artur, 19 October 2014 - 12:11 PM.
