PHP - Importing Users Email Contacts
I need to write a code were users can login to his/her email account from my site to import contacts to be selected and used. I know you need to use api's for this. Has anyone done this before who can give me some useful tips?

Right now, I'm targeting yahoo, gmail and hotmail - facebook friends would also be interesting. I'll need to allow users to log in, of course, and then have all of their contacts pulled into my application. From there, I'll present them to the user and allow them to pick which ones they want to email about my application. The important part is that I need to have control over what happens to the contact list to control certain aspects of my application. Hi there everyone. I'm really confused about this as I want to email eveyone in my DB when a new Event is created by a member. I have a test code which I used to make sure it works and it sends to 5 email addresses (which is all of them) in the test table. This works fine. All members with a 0 get the mail. So I now just took the code and changed the table name (obviously!!) and put it in my live site which has 50 members so far. It now doesn't send any emails??? I am unable to send activation email from my sign up page though the form submits all form inputs to mysql database.

I wish to check on form submit if the users email address already exists, and if so display a simple error message (even just a windows error message) stating "the email address you have entered already exists". I don't really know where to start with this, or what the code should look like, so any help and direction would be massively appreciated. All i do know, is the email column is set to unique, and when i attempt to submit using an email i know exists the code appears to run successfully without spitting out any errors (i.e. the web url changes to the below php code) but the table doesn't update (which is correct). But now if I have a "add to contacts" button on their profile page, I am struggling with the code to insert this into a contacts table correctly. If the contacts table has a id column, user_id column and contacts_id column how do I insert the id of the user you are viewing into the contacts_id column? The above code works well if you knowwhat your end string is, but in my case i do not know. i only know the start. As you can see i know it starts with account_type_dom but i do not know that it will end before industry_dom. so i need to stop before industry_dom. how do i do this? Quote

I just discovered that I have a major security flaw with my website. Anyone who logs in to the website can easily access other users information as well as delete and edit other users information just by changing the ID variable in the address bar. I have user ID Session started on these pages but still people can do anything they like with other users information just by editing the address bar. For example if your logged in in the address bar of www.mywebsite.com/delete_mystuff.php?id=5 and change the "5" say to a "9" then you will have access to user#9 information.
