PHP - Automaticly Remove Table Rows Daily If Logged Date Has Expired?
Hey all,
Im currently working on a site which I save a cookie on users computer for 1 month as well a row in a table with the 1 month expiring date plus cookie id. What I would like to know is if theres a way to make the server check the table every day at say 12pm to see if any corresponding user cookies in each row have expired on that day as to remove them from the table to match the expiring cookie on the users computer? I would like not to have to rely on a user/admin accessing in to make a script run instead have something thats timed to go off automatically instead? Is there anyway of doing this? Thanks! Similar TutorialsHi... I planned to create db table daily. When day begin button clicked (text box has date Value) master dB can be copied, with the name of text box value ($date). Hi2all! I have one question: A have this page: http://proximabih.com/elitesecurity/test_mapa.html Its on my native lang, but what is important that at the bottom of page is generated google maps static image of dynamic map. Now - how to send, or how to integrate this image to php $body of ph contact form. My idea is to have two pages-first is above link, another is php contact form, so if we have php contact form, on first page maby i need to create SUBMIT button which will by code automaticly put url with poicture in contact form body. I really don have any idea, any help is very appriciate ) Hey there, I'm calculating the current date like so Code: [Select] $currentdate = date('d-m-Y', strtotime('+0 days')); So let's say a MYSQL field has a date of : 25-04-2011 in the format d-m-Y, and I want to return all of the rows that have a date that is -100 to +10 days compared to $currentdate, how do I do this? Any help is much appreciated. Best Regards, Aimless Ok i have a question about a dynamic website.. What i have is a site that takes content from the MySQL database and load it into the index.php file. And i know how to change the content of the page when i move around in the navigation, e.g when i click on the "HOME" tab, the content for the home page is shown and when i click on "ABOUT", the information about my site is shown and so on.. Now for my question! I want the content too move everyday automaticly. For example, today i type in some content in the MySQL database that i want to be shown on my website for today. But tomorrow i want the content to have been moved to page 2, and the next day page 3 and so on.. So that everyday i can type in new content, and all the old pages get pushed back one page if that makes sense? Sorry but I have no actuall code for this cause i don't know how to start, but i guess you could use dates and "if else" statements to determine when the pages should be moved and not. Example code would be greatly appriciated! And when i say moved between pages, i mean like this: Today: www.mywebsite.com/index.php?pageid=1 - example 2 www.mywebsite.com/index.php?pageid=2 - example 1 www.mywebsite.com/index.php?pageid=3 - empty Tomorrow: www.mywebsite.com/index.php?pageid=1 - example 3 www.mywebsite.com/index.php?pageid=2 - example 2 www.mywebsite.com/index.php?pageid=3 - example 1 So this is a simple code that finds out the difference between two dates and displays it in number of days. $date1=date_create("2013-03-15"); $date2=date_create("2013-12-12"); $diff=date_diff($date1,$date2); echo $diff->format("%R%a days"); // RESULT +272 days
My first question. Is it possible to remove the + sign in the result above? Second question. Is it possible to show "months" if it's greater than 30 days? And years if the days are greater than 365? How would I do this? My query is a fixtures list for my local sports team- There seems little point including fixtures from the past as they are in a results query anyway. I'm ordering by date (see below) but how can I remove the ones already past? $query = "SELECT * FROM fix10 ORDER BY Date"; TIA Nick I could use some help comparing Dates. I need to check if a Temporary Password has expired, and am a bit shaky on "Date Math". The Temporary Password was created like this... // Build query. $q2 = "UPDATE member SET temp_password=?, temp_reset_on=NOW(), updated_on=NOW() WHERE email=? LIMIT 1"; So how do I see if temp_reset_on is more than 4-hour old and thus expired? Thanks, Debbie This topic has been moved to Miscellaneous. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=354333.0 Doesn't change status to expired.
<?php $bannersQuery = 'SELECT * FROM banners WHERE expire > NOW() AND status = "active" ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 10'; $banners = $db->query($bannersQuery); while($row = $banners->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)){ if($row['expire'] <= time()){ $status = 'expired'; }else{ $status = 'active'; } $updateQuery = 'UPDATE banners SET exposures = exposures + 1, status = :status WHERE id = :id'; $update = $db->prepare($updateQuery); $update->bindParam(':status', $status, PDO::PARAM_STR); $update->bindParam(':id', $row['id'], PDO::PARAM_INT); $update->execute(); echo ' <a href="index.php?do=bannerClick&id='.$row['id'].'" target="_BLANK"><img src="'.$row['url'].'" width="'.$row['width'].'" height="'.$row['height'].'" alt="'.$row['title'].'"></a><br>'; } echo ' <a href="index.php?do=buyBanner">Want to advertise your banner? Click here.</a>'; ?> On my site, I currently have a page that lists my team's fixtures: http://www.cfrclunj.co.uk/fixtures.php As can be seen, in between each separate month there is a row of blank, grey cells. I am now updating the site so that it takes all information from a database (for easier update). On my test page (at bottom) I have recreated the fixtures table using my db: http://www.cfrclunj.co.uk/db_test.php What I am wondering is if there is any way to get the grey monthly separater row into my table. Could this be done by inserting a row of data into the db table that uses an if statement to change it's appearance? Or could I somehow use MYSQL/PHP to make it put a row in for each separate month? I have to admit my PHP and MYSQL skills are still at a very basic level, and so any help would be great! I wonder if anyone can help me, I have a MySQL table of football teams (team_name; link; description; rival_1; rival_2; rival_3;) where each 'team_name' has its own page with the relevant information from the table and is named as the link field from the table. Within each team page I also want to display the rival_1,2 and 3 teams with links to their pages. I know how to just display the information but am struggling with picking up the link from the relevant row in the table. Is this possible or would I be better off just placing a <a href> link around each rival team when I enter it into the MySQL table?? I hope this makes sense, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks hi i have table in my database holding food items. i need users to be able to order those items individually for example...if apples are third from the top..they should be able to move them up or down the list 1 place at a time perhaps with an up and down arrow. i have a field in my table called item_order the only problem is...users are going to be able to insert new items to the database...but i dont know how they can populate the order field...i cant set it to auto increment because the item_id is the primary key auto incrementing...how can i populate the order field? and then once i have this problem sorted how do i then allow users to change this order? im looking for code if possible please because ive spent WAY to long on this now and im struggling to grasp things people advise me to do. terminology and methods of accomplishing this are just going over my head. please help. I wanted to make the rows of the table alternate colours and found the following code on this website which does the job perfectly: $counter++; $bgcolor = ($counter % 2)?"#e8edff":"#ffffff"; echo "<tr class='border'>\n <td bgcolor='".$bgcolor."'>$n</td>\n <td bgcolor='".$bgcolor."'>$player</td>\n <td bgcolor='".$bgcolor."'>$score</td>\n </tr>\n"; On my webpage i have six tables listing results from six MySQL queries and i use the above code after each query to construct the table and alternately colour the rows blue then white. My problem arises when there are an odd number of rows in the first table. This results in the first row of the second table being coloured white, not blue. I would like the first row of each table to be blue. Is there a simple way to reset the counter for each table? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.
