PHP - Dynamic Spry Repeat List Problem
Hi,
i m new with php programming... I have successfully populated a drop down list by reading the database. It populates with a list of quest titles. Once the user selects the quest. I want a textbox to populate with the Quest Description. I found an example that uses AJAX/PHP to do this, but it doesn't access a db to read/populate. The main code is in index.html The original example you select a country, and it populates a text field with the currency code. It passes a variable called $country to another file called find_ccode.php. I changed the first case in find_ccode.php to access my database, and populate the text box with quest description. Ideally I will like to make this case dynamic based off QuestID, would populate textbox with corresponding Quest Description (QDescrip). I then tried the other way in index.php I dynamically populated the dropdown list, and gave the option values the QuestIDs to be passed to $country, but something isn't working. I have a write files command to let me know what the $country variable is passing, and it never writes. It works in index.html though. I apologize in advance for my amateurish coding. I want to give free members their own subdomain. I want the php files to scan the subdomain to determine which pages to display. So like my index.php would scan the subdomain and show the corresponding user's home page so that if you go to someguy.thisdomain.com, it would really just scan index.php at thisdomain.com and act accordingly.
On the other project, no extra folders were created. I know that subdomains can be created in cpanel and then extra folders would be added and whatnot, but I was able to effectively use subdomains for users without htaccess or any sort of cpanel functions.
The main problem is when I test subdomains. I have php code that just echos "Subdomain is blah" and it works when I go to www.mydomain.com and also just mydomain.com, but when I go to test.mydomain.com, it gives an error as if the domain doesn't exist.

Hello Im trying to work out how i can display 2 sets of dynamic content depending on a link clicked. Im currently using css, html, php & mysql. I have my database set with a unique id for each row of data. Heres what i am trying to get to work. I have links in div1 that pull info depending on different fields and display it in div2 (eg link 'title' will pull down the 'title' field, link 'author' would pull down the 'author' field) the info displayed in div2 is a series of dynamic links that i want to display the content of that row in div3 (eg the link 'title' 'math' would display all content from its row using the unique id) i am able to set up the links (div1) to display content in div2 and the div2 dynamic links to display content in div3. But when ever i click a dynamic div2 link it displays the info in div3(like it should) but div 2 reverts back to default(which it shouldnt). how can i display the div2 dynamic links while displaying div3 content? ive tried using a switch statement and also a form action statment ( if(action == title){display info}; ) is there something i can try to get this to work... i know it can be done using html frames but i want to stay away from frames as they are just crap (well i think they are) any help or advice would be great. cheers P0PZ ps. i hope i have explained what im trying to achieve ok... if i havent just let me know and ill try again. When i first run the html script (which includes php script) and subscribe by the first time, it went perfectly fine and it echos "thanks for signing up man!!" but when i try it with the totally DIFFERENT email address, it always says "You have already subscribed!!" Even when i put blank on the address box, it still shows "You have already subscribed!!" Also it's the same deal as unsubscribe, first time i could delete an entry from my database completely, but afterward when i try to delete the exact email addresses from database, it wouldn't work !! It just says "You have unsubscribed!" but when i checked back if the entry has been deleted, the answer is NO ! I am wondering if this is the problem about $global values under function emailChecker( ). Btw my database connection works absolutely fine.
