PHP - Assigning The Result Of Sqlsrv_query To A Class Variable

Hi folks,

I was wondering how to do this. I want the if statement to detect if the query string has any of these values. so im trying to assign them all to the same variable. However, this code wont work. Whats the trick here?

I am new to forum and could use some help with some php code that isn't working.  I am very new to php/html/javascript and all of what I have learned, I learned from forums like this one so first....thank you!

I am trying to assign a value from a php variable to the value of my form element.  I'm sure there must be a way to do this but I can't seem to get the syntax right.  here is my code...

first I set the value of $loginname elsewhere in the script like so...

This part works fine..

Then I try to set the value of my hidden text field inside the form to the value of $loginname to be passed to a javascript program.  Everything works except that the value passed ends up being <?echo and not the expected user name inside of $loginname.

hey guys,
I'm quite new to PHP and i was wondering if someone would be able to help me out with this.
The code i have checks the database to see if a user has provided a Vimeo ID. If they haven't, $video_check will equal a line of html that says the user hasn't added any videos to their portfolio. If the a vimeo ID is present, i want $video_check to equal a bunch of html and css with a foreach function inside that is used to display the users videos from vimeo.
The foreach function works fine when its not assigned to the $video_check variable. How do i structure it so that it displays correctly?

I am facing problem to execute query by assigning NULL value to a variable and then executing query.In MySQL DB four fields Mobile,landline, pincode,dob are set as integer and date(for dob) respectively.The default is set as  NULL and NULL option is selected as yes.All these fields are not mandatory.The problem is that when I edit the form my keeping the value as empty in DB these are saved as 0, 0 , 0 & 0000-00-00 inspite of Null. I have tried everything but still the defect persist. Please help me to come out of the problem

As you can see, the value passes to $this->set_partner_id($partID) each time. It is formatted as a string. When it assigns the value to $this->partner->id, however, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It's probably something obvious, but I've racked my brain to see what it is. Any ideas?

So I have a content management site set up, but I'm stuck on one part. I have a query. Code: [Select]

I'm a beginner in PHP and SQL. Basically I need the query to run, it will come out with one result and I need that to be where the email is sent to.

Hello Guys,
I have a column named message_status it can only have the values "read" or "unread" in it. I would like to show an image in the column next to it. If the message is "read" then I would like to display a green dot, and if it is unread I would like to display a red dot. I would also like to be able to have anything in the row that's "unread" to appear in bold. I completely stumped by this! I have written the following code, which doesn't seem to work, presumably because it is run after the table has been displayed? I am very new to this so please be gentle!

I have a quick question for you all, I think its fairly simple...
I have created a database and I am using PHP to grab the data:

This hopefully will return multiple rows which look like this in the database.

id username date reps hidden 1 supremebeing 2011-01-02 30 yes 4 supremebeing 2011-04-02 46 yes
How would i turn each result into a variable eg:


$date1 =  2011-01-02;
$date2 =  2011-04-02;
$reps1 = 30;
$reps2 = 46;

I want to save the results of a loop as a variable ie $output.  I have tried encasing the php within quotes but it does not work.  Is there a way to save the complete results as a variable?

The part I want as one result (ie. $complete) is the result of the while loop.  There is always at least one result but sometimes 10 which means that it creates 10 table rows.  I need to do it this way as later on in the page I use a pdf converter which does not allow loop checks within it otherwise I would just place it within the converter.

I have found postings close, but not close enough to find my error.
I am looking up data from a MySql table and putting it in a dropdown box on a form. I can select the item, but apparently not really. I am not able to echo it, or post it to a record.
I'm sure I am missing something simple, but...

When I run

by itself in mysql I get a numerical result: one row, one column.

In my php script, the 1700 is actually a variable. so here it is

I have a class that creates a grid from an xml feed. 

The class file is attached.

The grid displays on a page which is defined within the class as follows:

private $results_page = '/foobar.php';
I'm including the same class in multiple folders (the folders are addon domains) so I can have just one copy of the class so it is easy to modify.

The problem is that I need to add a variable containing the folder name to the $results_page path, so that when the class executes within each folder, the $results_page is 'FOLDER//foobar.php'

I have a file with defines in each folder, and I have tried including that file in the class and using the defined var in the construct, but I can't get it to work.

What am I missing?

Using this locally works fine:


$html = $name::add_content($name, $html);


but i get the double colon error whe using it live.
$name is a name of a valid class.

What could throw this error when it works locally?
