PHP - Sql String Returns Database Empty When Using Where
Hello
i have a system where leaders add members, i want to display a table of members WHERE the 'leader' field equals 'myusername' so that leaders only see members they added. when using the WHERE function i get a database empty as the result but when i remove the WHERE function i get all the data returned Code: [Select] include("system/include/session.php"); $myUname = $session->username; echo "$myUname"; function displayMembers(){ global $database; $q = "SELECT * " ."FROM ".TBL_MEMBERS." WHERE leader = '$myUname'"; $result = $database->query($q); $num_rows = mysql_numrows($result); if(!$result || ($num_rows < 0)){ echo "Error displaying info"; return; } if($num_rows == 0){ echo "Database table empty"; return; } echo "<table>\n"; echo "<thead> <tr> <th>Full Name</th> <th>Gender</th> <th>DOB</th> <th>Post Code</th> <th>Email Address</th> <th>Edit User</th> </tr> </thead>\n"; for($i=0; $i<$num_rows; $i++){ $Mprefix = mysql_result($result,$i,"prefix"); $Mfname = mysql_result($result,$i,"firstname"); $Mlname = mysql_result($result,$i,"lastname"); $Mgender = mysql_result($result,$i,"gender"); $Mdob = mysql_result($result,$i,"dob"); $Mpostcode = mysql_result($result,$i,"postcode"); $Memail = mysql_result($result,$i,"email"); echo " <tbody> <tr> <td>$Mprefix $Mfname $Mlname</td> <td>$Mgender</td> <td>$Mdob</td> <td>$Mpostcode</td> <td>$Memail</td> <td> <center> <form action=\"system/admin/adminprocess.php\" method=\"POST\"> <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"deluser\" value=\"$uname\"> <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"subdeluser\" value=\"1\"> <input type=\"submit\" class=\"button plain\" value=\"Edit Member\"> </form> </center> </td> </tr> </tbody>\n"; } echo "</table><br>\n"; } all help i am thankful for Similar TutorialsI noticed that strtolower() wasn't working. My script was adding blank rows to a text file that was supposed to be lowercase emails, so I wrote the following script to confirm it's not working: <?php $var = "Foo"; echo "$var<br />"; echo srttolower($var)."<br />"; $var = strtolower($var); echo "$var<br />"; ?> This page just prints "Foo" once on the screen where I should see Foo foo foo I then checked my error log, and I'm getting Call to undefined function messages for strtolower(). Any ideas? Hi All, I am pretty new to PHP ( I am a C Programmer). I am trying a simple shopping cart website for my friend. IN one of the pages, I am submitting some info, which is actually not showing up in my server side php. Below is the HTML code to submit. <a href="cart.php?action=add&p=5&size=small"> <img src="images/add_to_cart.gif"/> </a> I tried to check the values of the parameters using $action = $_GET['action'] ; Action stored empty. Then I checked the whole array print_r($_GET) which returned Array( ) So, for some reason the value is always empty. I tried the declaration GLOBAL $_GET, but no use. Any help/directions - much appreciated! Hi everyone!
I've been working on a php script to replace links that contain a query with direct links to the files they would redirect to. In this case I have to rewrite the xml with this script. Situation is not optimal, I'm running the chunk script because we're stuck with the execution time limit too. Export filter: This loops over a xml file and splits it into chunks <?php //ini_set('max_execution_time', 10); // ---- includes if ( ! defined('ABSPATH') ) { require_once( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/wp-load.php' ); } // ---- end includes // console function vwaconsole($input) { $disabled = false; if ($disabled === false) { $a = print_r($input.'</br>'); $a = $input; echo "<script>console.log( '--log--: " . $a . Export chunk processor: The xml was split by the previous script. Hello i have a SQL db that has some Empty Rows in it .... I Had used a if else statement to make it display N/A If the answer is different than it should be like this <?php if ($string) {echo $string} else {echo"N/A"};?> but i think there are better ways of doing this Can anyone teach me how may i do it? Edit: it should be a way to see if the db row value is empty/null :| Hello there,
I would be really grateful if someone could advice please, how do I find this pesky entry in the 'db' table? This is what it says,
"Found an entry in the 'db' table with empty database name; Skipped." MySQL version is 5.5.40
I am pretty much stuck on it. Does it mean the table's name is db? Plus, I am not sure I understand the wording of it too. The empty database name cannot exist by default as it won't allow you to create a database without a name in the first place. I do not even know how and where to begin to look for it because honestly speaking I do not quite understand the phrase itself, because it does not make much sense to me. I would really highly appreciate it if someone could explain and suggest how do I find the... "whatever it says" :-) and to fix it. Many thanks in advance!
P.S. I know this warning may easily and safely be ignored as it is of minor inconvenience and not that important the more so as MySQL is working fine but my curiosity is just running wild for two reasons: 1. I do not really understand what this warning message is trying to tell me and 2. How do I find and adjust it to turn off the warning.
Simple regular things as running myisamchk -r *.MYI on where MySQL is did not help as this warning is actually out of scope of what myisamchk can fix.
And yes, I've Googled it long enough but couldn't seem to come up with anything reasonable solutions.
Thankful for any suggestions / pointers / assistance / comments at all.
Edited by Klaipedaville, 29 October 2014 - 06:17 AM. Hi, I hope you guys can help me out. I only know basic PHP and also SQL. I haven't tried using connecting database yet. My problem is that I'm trying to INSERT a data into an existing table using access but when it reaches $rs = odbc_exec(); it returns an error that the query was empty. Here is the code: Code: [Select] $conn=odbc_connect('trial','',''); if (!$conn) {exit("Connection Failed: " . $conn);} $sql = "INSERT INTO Data (FirstName, LastName, BusinessName) VALUES ('$fname', '$lname', '$bname')"; $rs=odbc_exec($sql, $conn); $rs = @odbc_exec($conn,$sqlstring); if (!$rs) { echo "An error has occured. Please try again", odbc_errormsg($conn); } else { echo "The record was successfully inserted."; } odbc_close($conn); and here is the error: Quote An error has occured. Please try again[MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver][mysqld-5.5.20]Query was empty I really hope you could help me out. Thanks. What am i missing here why echo 0 == "some string" prints out 1? Hello Everyone, I am having issues where people are submitting null characters on my website (I.e. %00). Currently, I check if their is a value by using the empty function, and I also am checking if the value after running the trim command is =="". How can I check for these special characters to make sure that whatever they are submitting actually contains some sort of legitimate value? Thanks! Man, I'm having a rough week with questions--if you're following at home. Basically matching a Coach's first and last name to another table, which if matched will yield information about that coach's team. Code: [Select] // or get user by username $current_user = wp_get_current_user(); $current_first = $current_user->user_firstname; $current_last = $current_user->user_lastname; $current_id = $current_user->ID; echo '<div class="contact_form">'; echo $current_first . ' ' . $current_last .' :: '; $query = "SELECT * FROM schools WHERE coachFirst='".$current_first."' AND coachLast='".$current_last."'"; $result = mysql_query ($query); if(!$result) { echo 'There is not a match for your name.'; } else { while($school= mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo $school['school'] . ' ' . $school['id']; include(ABSPATH ."wp-content/plugins/my-team/form.php"); } echo '</div>'; echo '<div class="roster">'; include(ABSPATH ."wp-content/plugins/my-team/roster.php"); echo '</div>'; } Hello all, been trying for over a day to get something to work and after searching and searching I could not find what I was looking for. I found people looking to do something similar, but the answers seemed more complicated than I would think they need to be. First off, I'm still horrible at arrays and loops so try not to laugh too hard if my code is waaaayyyy off...haha I am essentially trying to tie products and quantities to a reservation. The user has the ability to add items to the form. I'm using jquery .clone to create each new item product and quantity form fields. When the user submits the form jquery inputs the values of the cloned fields into 2 hidden text fields called "productsField" and "quantitiesField" The values of these fields look something like value="1,2,2,1,3" depending on how many products were added. What I want to do is explode both and then enter them into the database. Seems simple enough, but apparently I am not getting it. I thought something like this would work, but it is not. if (isset($_POST["reserve_button"])) { $theReservationID = $_SESSION['createdReservationID']; $items = explode (",",$_POST['productsField']); $quantities = explode (",",$_POST['quantitiesField']); // loop through array $number = count($items); for ($i=0; $i<=$number; $i++) { // store a single item number and quantity in local variables $itno = $items[$i]; $quant = $quantities[$i]; if ($items[$i] <> '') { mysql_query('INSERT INTO reservation_items (reservationID,productID,productQuantity) VALUES($theReservationID,$itno,$quant)'); } } } Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Twitch Hi, I'm creating a PDF document using the FPDF library. All is fine, using a sample image that came with the library. However, I need to get the data for the PDF from a database. The data's fine - the query is performed and the data prints out as I need. However, there's one line which takes a value which is a filepath. When I put that into the following line, I get an error from FPDF: Code: $this->Image($row['imgpath'],10,10,190); Error produced: FPDF error: Image file has no extension and no type was specified: However, if I print out the value of $row['imgpath'] and manually insert it into the code as follows, it works fine: Code: $this->Image('../assets/images/products/5777A.jpg',10,10,190); I've come across this problem once before but can't for the life of me remember what the solution was. It was something to do with how I was reading the value into the code, I think. Can anyone jog my memory, please?? Hey there... I'm so stuck on this problem I was hoping someone could help... I need to query a MySQL Database using array values... Here is my array ... $query_keywords = Array ( [7] => business [10] => home [11] => depo ) Here is my php ...$query = "SELECT * FROM product WHERE product_name, product_comment IN ($query_keywords)"; $result=mysql_query($query); if(mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) { echo "results"; } else { echo "no results"; } Unfortunately, I get this ...
