PHP - Form Error Message Not Showing Up?!
As some of y'all may not know, I am new to this php coding stuff so if anything does not work the way I want it to, it goes to the forum. And this is the case when just after I solved a problem with my first contact form, I run into another problem again. My latest problem involves the form error thing that tells you that you did not enter any required fields. After I added a error message thing to my contact page and tested it, it doesn't show up.

I've decided to rewrite one a couple of my forms, to make them more user friendly. But I am having problems returning the error. Thanks Hello all, I'm new to PHP and new to this forum (although I have benefitted from your help already -cheers!). However, this time I cannot find the answer I need/recognise/understand.. I have a form and want to conduct tests on each field returning an error message as a session variable if the test fails. The test will be different for some of the fields, and the error message is specific to each field. If there is an error in any one of the fields I want to be redirected to a failure page where all of the error messages are displayed, otherwise I am sent on to another page. I have already written and tested a function to sanitise the incoming form data, so that's not a problem - it's just how to loop through and test. I can guess that there are many ways to do this but I need to understand why one option is better than another, and follow the syntax used (it's all part of my steep learning curve) The approach I have thought to use is to create an array holding the field name, the test and the message, then loop through using foreach, applying the array values into the test and creating the error message....but it's not working for me. The other method is to declare a variable $Stop='No' and if the loop identifies an error, part of the output is to change this to 'yes' and through that redirect to the error page. The code goes through registered appointments and depends on the service ID, I have to free a 45 minutes for another service to be booked. Everything seems to work fine when/if I use the following SQL query (which can also be seen commented out in my code towards the end of this post) :

Hello, I have done this with SimpleXML variables many times. I seem to be struggling with something really simple as I am venturing out with some JSON. Basically there is a variable $nowcast. Sometimes that node may be empty. So I want to display an alternative message if it is empty like it is now. Unfortunately I am having some struggles and can't get the message to display when the node is empty. What am I missing?

This seems to almost works. It is part of Jquery Validations, once the field or submit button is clicked. It looks for error on field. then Enter the Ajax Funciton which is to parse the error code and the out put the error message which is coming from json object.
The code is not returning the error message, on line (alert(data))

I am having some trouble with an include line. At the very top of my .php page I have the following Code: [Select] <?php include ('/IUS/Login/form_process.php'); ?> When I open the page using - localhost/IUS the rest of the page seems to load fine but at the very top I have this error message Quote Warning: include(/IUS/Login/form_process.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\IUS\Index.php on line 1 Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/IUS/Login/form_process.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\IUS\Index.php on line 1 My file structure is as follows Inside my apache2.2 there is the htdocs folder inside that there is a folder called IUS IUS has the index.php file in it as well as a css style sheet and two folders. 1. folder called 'images' 2.folder called Login Login has the file 'form_process.php' so the structure looks something like this - Apache2.2 htfocs IUS - Index.php, style.css Images - BackgroundRep.png etc... Login - form_process.php, Config.php (red = folder) Where am I going wrong? I can tell that its unable to find the form_process.php file in the path that I am specifying but I am unsure why?
