The data I'm having trouble with is user key which is used to authenticate an http header. An example of what the txt file would hold is this: 360235276 PbI1c5+PGHSshccYd58AklmTgf5u+tbWZplMRYYxFSivRYw4AZhaVNHwADozYZhZhPnXRSV1rmsrhf1td7w6bJbySZmPHLl+hleyz/Ht4iM= 477947328 cXTnFEVP74RWtAgqM5BlwtgW2i9rP/v44oANzwF+yJZ+9mpvaschyo/HaYP1qUXgIK8nK7jy74iSCEHAgpPgPdryzpReM5cbnVDjRw7h9S0= 503724987 XXEJsklZTFaTx8MLjuNIz0S65Sn02rgbHl2sahdReQdadKP39 evIXUoYdr5NyQMWDVE7cRpvn+zJ7mteH7WJzVh0U/sOcSG7kfcuaWpAOfo= The format I have is: account_ID user_key New account on a fresh line. So in my script I have it grabbing the data as so: $User_DataFile = "accountdata.txt"; $AccData = file($User_DataFile, FILE_SKIP_EMPTY_LINES); foreach($AccData as $line_num => $line) { $AccData = explode(" ", htmlspecialchars(str_replace(" "," ",$line))); if(stristr($AccData[1], "\n")) $AccData[1] = substr($AccData[1], 0, strlen($AccData[1])-2); $AccountID = $AccData[0]; $UserKey = $AccData[1]; echo "Account ID: ".$AccountID."<br/>User Key: ".$UserKey."<br/><br/>"; I have it set to simply echo out the data for debugging which is where I noticed that any slashes or plus or equal signs were not included. When run in Apache it returns this: Account ID: 360235276 User Key: PbI1c5+PGHSshccYd58AklmTgf5u+tbWZplMRYYxFSivRYw4AZhaVNHwADozYZhZhPnXRSV1rmsrhf1td7w6bJbySZmPHLl+hleyz/Ht4iM Account ID: 477947328 User Key: cXTnFEVP74RWtAgqM5BlwtgW2i9rP/v44oANzwF+yJZ+9mpvaschyo/HaYP1qUXgIK8nK7jy74iSCEHAgpPgPdryzpReM5cbnVDjRw7h9S0 Account ID: 503724987 User Key: XXEJsklZTFaTx8MLjuNIz0S65Sn02rgbHl2sahdReQdadKP39 evIXUoYdr5NyQMWDVE7cRpvn+zJ7mteH7WJzVh0U/sOcSG7kfcuaWpAOfo So as you can see by comparison there is no slashes or plus or equal signs present, which is going to be a major problem. Is there any way of getting around this problem? Thanks. Hi, I have set up a new website, but the old website is using /mainpage.html as it's homepage when searching in Google. [/code] tags added. This topic has been moved to CSS Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=355565.0 Ok this has been driving me absolutely crazy. I have a script that gets called by Prototype's Ajax.Updater() class which should then update a div. It does update the div but a portion of what gets outputted doesn't render. Code: [Select] if (is_array($PROCESSED["associated_proxy_ids"]) && count($PROCESSED["associated_proxy_ids"])) { foreach ($PROCESSED["associated_proxy_ids"] as $student) { if ((array_key_exists($student, $STUDENT_LIST)) && is_array($STUDENT_LIST[$student])) { ?> <li class="user" id="audience_student_<?php echo $STUDENT_LIST[$student]["proxy_id"]; ?>" style="cursor: move;"><?php echo $STUDENT_LIST[$student]["fullname"]; ?><img src="<?php echo ENTRADA_URL; ?>/images/action-delete.gif" onclick="removeAudience('student_<?php echo $STUDENT_LIST[$student]["proxy_id"]; ?>', 'students');" class="list-cancel-image" /></li> <?php } } } I've echoed from within the foreach and the following if and the $student variable does have a value, however I'll point out that it also doesn't render but that may be because its not a <li>, I'm not sure. Now, if I take that li element lin end output it outside of the foreach loop it renders just fine(once I substitute the $student variable for a known index of course). Inside the loop it doesn't. I can see it in the source code of the page but for some reason its not rendering. I'll put the output from the source of the page below, the top is the code output from within the loop and the bottom is from outside of the loop. The bottom renders as expected, the top doesn't. Code: [Select] <!--foreach li element:doesn't render--> <li class="user" id="audience_student_2" style="cursor: move;">Hudson, Tom<img src="http://localhost/entrada/www-root/images/action-delete.gif" onclick="removeAudience('student_2', 'students');" class="list-cancel-image" /></li> <!--non foreach li element:renders--> <li class="user" id="audience_student_2" style="cursor: move;">Hudson, Tom<img src="http://localhost/entrada/www-root/images/action-delete.gif" onclick="removeAudience('student_2', 'students');" class="list-cancel-image" /></li> They're identical. I can't figure out for the life of me why this isn't working. Any help would be great. now i am getting this error ( ! ) Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'talos342c'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in C:\wamp\www\myNewweb\storescripts\connect_to_mysql.php on line 19 Call Stack # Time Memory Function Location 1 0.0008 380440 {main}( ) ..\index.php:0 2 0.0012 384880 include( 'C:\wamp\www\myNewweb\storescripts\connect_to_mysql.php' ) ..\index.php:11 3 0.0012 385528 mysql_connect ( ) ..\connect_to_mysql.php:19 Hi there,
My friend asked me to help him perform a task today and I was completely stumped as to how I should complete it. Being someone who is reasonably experienced with PHP programming I didn't think I would find it absolutely impossible to complete, maybe hard, but not impossible. So I wondered if someone would now be able to explain to me in order to assist me in expanding my knowledge how to complete this task.
https://www.dropbox....B8M6cr_z7a?dl=0
Here is a link to the files he sent me, please ignore the C++ section.
If anyone could help / begin to give an explanation please fire away. I feel so bad about myself for NOT knowing that I'm now motivated to learn more!
Many thanks!
Hi there. I have a page(portfolio.php) that shows all the pictures from my db. Now what i want is: when i click on the picture to send me to a page(portfolio_single.php) where other datas are shown but those datas that are related to that picture. ex: when i click first picture it will open (portfolio_single.php) showing the infos of that picture, then when i click to the secon picture it will open same page with different datas (retreiving them from db). Anyone have any idea how to do that? here is my portfolio.php: Code: [Select] <?php require_once('Connections/ecommerce_dbcon.php'); ?> <?php if (!function_exists("GetSQLValueString")) { function GetSQLValueString($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "") { if (PHP_VERSION < 6) { $theValue = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($theValue) : $theValue; } $theValue = function_exists("mysql_real_escape_string") ? mysql_real_escape_string($theValue) : mysql_escape_string($theValue); switch ($theType) { case "text": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? Thanks very much. - FreakingOUT I'm using PHP and MySQL to display images on the first page.
When the image is clicked on I'm passing an ID to a new page.
I want that ID to display the ID data that's associated with that ID.
For example:
ID 1 should display - Title - title1, Details - details1, image - image1
and ID 2
ID 1 should dislay - Title - title2, Details - details2, image - image2
But only displaying ID 1 data not matter if the URL is - website.com/thedetials.php?id=1 or website.com/thedetials.php?id=2
In other words, it displays the same data even though the id in the URL is different.

Edited by patmon, 08 June 2014 - 09:22 PM. Is it possible to write a php script that would extract data from an external web page. I've been working with php for a few years as a hobby, but I've never seen this done or needed a reason to until now. Thanks in advance for any responses. I have the following code Code: [Select] while($player = mysql_fetch_array($players)) { #Lets loop through all the players echo "<BR><input type=submit onclick=this.form.action='points.php?points=".$_GET['points']."&player=".$player['playerID']."&playerName=".$player['name']."' value='".$player['name']."'>"; }but the problem is that $player['name'] is always two words and it doesn't work. So I have removed '&playerName=".$player['name']."' but now don't know how to transfer that info. Is there a way of having the player name in the header or another way of sending this data to the next page? Another way of doing it is to check for the players name via there playerID number but this involves another call to the database which I am trying to avoid. index.php?page=1 that link style but there is not hard files it is all to be stored in the DB here is what i have got so far Code: [Select] <? $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM page") or die(mysql_error()); $row = mysql_fetch_array( $result ); if(isset($_GET['page'])) { echo $row['text']; } else { $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM page WHERE id='1'") or die(mysql_error()); $row = mysql_fetch_array( $result ); echo $row['text']; } ?> but always shows page ID 1 (home page) so i no i am missing something just not sure what hehe DB structu Code: [Select] menu ----id (auto increase) ----name (home, about etc) ----id2 (page weight) pages ----id (auto increase) ----name (page name home, about etc) ----text (page text) link structure from the menu Code: [Select] <? $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM menu ORDER BY id2") or die(mysql_error()); ?> <table> <? while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { ?> <tr><td> <a href="index.php?page=<? echo $row['id'];?>"><? echo $row['name']; ?></a> </td></tr> <? } ?> </table> dont think i have missed any info that i have on file but not sure why it will not link so thought of you guys hehe Thanx in advance I'm new to PHP and I have an html page I would like to pull specific data into certain areas on the page that I will modified for php. Here are some details. The page is a static html page that has the prices of 40+ products in a standard <li> list. When I update the prices in our database through our shopping cart, I have to change these prices manually in the html. https://www.novon.co...mic_mixers.html. It would be great if I could link the field for Base_Price in the products table to each affiliated <li> tag, I am pulling all the data I need into ($results) and can display it all but I don't know how to get just the single products Base_Price in my <li> tag. <?=$row['Base_Price'] ?> I know this code is not correct but to get the point across, can I create a variable that I define in each <li> tag with a statement like,,,, <?=$row['Base_Price with Product_Code=123456'] ?> I could create a new SQL query for each <li> like "SELECT Base_Price from Products WHERE Product_Code='123456' ", but that's a lot of calls to the DB and a lot of code on the page. And just so I weed out the hard core coders, I can not rebuild the entire page. This is too big of a project for me and my limited coding with PHP. Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance Michael Hello, I've been hacking at this for about 5 hours, and have been unable to get my session data to pass through to the 3rd page. Here is my code. As you can see I've been trying all types of variation of retrieval. On page 2 I can pull the data from page 1 fine with REQUEST or the longer version.. But for some reason page 3 will not display the first_name and last_name... I'm desperate at this point. I have not been able to find a working answer. I'm running php 5 w/ trans...
