PHP - Post Request Method

I need to make my client's site distinguish among different tabs in the same browser. (See http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=357772.0 for background.)

I create a tab ID when the user first visits the site in a particular tab, and I'm passing it from page to page as a parameter. This seems to be the only way to do what I need.

The tab ID is always passed through POST so that the user won't see it. If it were visible, users could make trouble (or more likely get in trouble) by adding or removing the ID themselves.

This is not simple where a page is loaded by a hyperlink. The anchor tag passes parameters via GET, period.

The solution I found is to link to a script named post.php, which takes the real link target and the tab ID as parameters, sends the browser a form that passes the tab ID to the real link target via POST, and auto-submits the form via JavaScript.

This works, but it requires two round trips to the browser to load a page. It's also a pain to code.

Is there a more efficient way to do this... perhaps a way to make the server send the browser a POST response, even though it made a GET request?

If it matters, the server is Apache 2.x.

Hey people of php freaks recently, I've been having issues changing a discord webhook [curl] post request to a website [curl] post request. My knowledge in PHP is very limited so, I really would appreciate some help

Currently the discord bot transfers the message into a discord channel and, I do not want that. I want it to transfer it onto a website page. As, I said i'm not very keen on this so please help me.

I am working in moodle and its code base is in PHP. I am a novice to moodle as well as PHP and not quite familiar with PHP syntax.

Right now I have built a Web page in moodle, and its view.php file I need to implement a fuctionality on click of a button.

On click of submit button, I am trying to implement a functionality and I have written the code for that under if(isset($_POST['submit]))
{ ...my code...}

Also while creating the form I have set the attributes as follows:

But irrespective of whether or not I click the button, whenevr the page loads for the first time, it perform the code written in IF loop as well.

So Am i going wrong in implementing a functionality on click of button in PHP or is it something related to moodle, if anyone knows?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. As I am stuck with this logic since last three days.

   I was wondering if it is possible to get all the data sent by a html form via post/get method and use it somehow.
   it is difficult to explain what i mean, i don't mean to say how to get data normally i.e.. by using variables for example $data = $_POST['data']; that can only get only one field that is "data".
  The reason i am looking for this is because i have many forms that will have to use the mail() function, the problem is creating variables for each from then use the mail() function to send it will be time consuming. and the fields are different in different forms.
I have noticed the similar technology used by mailmyform . com, they capture the data in any html form posted to their php page and mail it to the given email.

Hitting the submit button from my selection list form seems to be working fine because when I echo my data ($depart and $deptlike) it is giving me the correct value, but the query doesn't give me any results. However, if my post data comes from a text box instead of a selection list, my query works fine. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong???

I'm trying to setup a quick PHP script that will grab the email from the url (see below) and after inserting into MySQL db - which is working fine - the script will complete two additional tasks:

1. send that same captured email out to a external db as in shown via http://domain1.com/insert.php?email=$lead (example), but then send to a DIFFERENT source - the originator of the lead - a portback acknowledgement using Header (sending the status and email to http://domain2.com/check.php?e=$lead&s=$status for their records).

Problem: I'm getting all sorts of errors with the simplexml_load_file() function and can't figure out why it won't work.
Any input appreciated as this the only way I know how to pass the lead onward and then inform/update the other party of receipt of information.

Doing something wrong, but don't see it.  How should one retrieve a POST parameter?  My $request->toArray()['html'] works, but I am sure it is not the "right way".

My script has 3 classes (that are relevant to this discussion): DB, User and Validate. They are all in independent files and loaded automatically, when required, by an autoloader.
Both the User class and the Validate class have a private variable $_db which is instantiated by their class constructor: $this->_db = DB::getInstance();
At the top of the script I declare new instances: $user = new User(); and $validate = new Validate();
I then call a method in $user: $found = $user->findInUsers ( .... )
From within the findInUsers method I then want to call the query method in the DB class. My problem is that I can't find a way to do this that works.
I have tried $this->_db->query( ... ), $_db->query( ... ), but neither works.

The error messages I am getting a
An error occurred in script '/srv/http/classes/User.php' on line 42: Undefined variable $_db
Uncaught Error: Call to a member function query() on null in /srv/http/classes/User.php:42

Any pointers as to what I am doing wrong, or what I should be doing, would be most welcome.
