PHP - Is It Possible To Send An Automated Emails To Users As Per The Target Dates?

Hi All,

I want to create a simple WEBMAIL application from scratch and I've already started with the help of IMAP functions.
Listing & Viewing (of Inbox Messages) modules almost completed.
Now I want to create an option for composing & sending emails. I've tried imap_mail() function, but there were some problems.

So can anybody help me on this, if it there any available resources for it maybe classes or functions??

hey guys, i have an issue, im modifying a contact form to be a basic credit card detail form, now the issue is, it sends back no details to me, i am really stuck at the moment, any help is really appreciated. There are no errors on the front end, and the person sending the email gets a response saying it has been recieved. code:

Alright so I have 3 pages. Signup, Password reset and Send message. All three pages/forms email to the recipient.   So far my test have only been with hotmail and gmail.     All emails go through for hotmail accounts. They show up in the hotmail.   All emails DO go through for gmail accounts. But they don't show up in the gmail. The only page that gmail is able to receive emails from is "send message". The emails derived from that send message show up in gmail.  The other two don't.   There are not errors on the server side that show up. It clearly shows emails being sent.   Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

I have an auctions website and I want to create a feature that is similar to ebay in which users will receive an email if one of the auctions they are watching will end in less than 3 hours. I will be using a cron job to call up this page every 15 minutes. When the cron job executes, I would like it to send 1 email per auction to every user that has that auction on their watchlist if the auction will be ending in 3 hours. I don't know whether it needs to be a separate email for each user or one mass email where their emails are hidden.

The 4 tables in my database we are concerned about are "auctions, "users, "watchlists" and "products."

I am trying to use the script phpMailer to execute the code because I heard it was the best one. Anways here is what I have so far. I am missing alot because I had no clue what to do.

Hello, recently I changed host of my website and when a visitor clicks "contact us" button in my website (in which one needs to enter his/ her email, name, phone , etc) and submit his/her message then I get email. Before this hosting I used to get emails from the visitor who filled the form so it was easier for me to reply but now after I changed the host I get email as "mydomain@hosting-company-domain" instead of the visitor's email. I messaged them then they told me something about SMTP authenticate using PHP, please guide me to fix this.

I need to subtract dates and display the number of days left.  I have a 'Start' date and an 'End' date in DATETIME format in the DB.  Not quite sure where to start.  A simply start - end doesn't work  .

Start = 2011-11-01-00:00:00
End = 2011-11-30-23:59:59

Since it is now 2011-11-27, my output should equal 3.  Any help is appreciated.

Hello   I am trying to work out how many regular users I have to my site and how long those users tend to be users..   So, I have a table that logs every time a user visits my site and logs in, it stores the date / time as a unix timestamp and it logs their user id.   I started by getting the id's of any user who logs in more than 5 times in a specified period, but now I want to extend that...

I am trying to do a multidates events availability calender. The script below indicates todays date by highlighting an orange colour and also indicates the start and end date of the event highlighting grey colour on the two dates (The colour are link via css classes as shown).

It works ok i.e. if start date = 01/01/2012 and end date = 04/01/2012 both date will be highlighted with grey colour. However I want it to also highlight grey on the dates between the 1st and 4th to show that then anydates between the 1st and 4th are not available and this is when I'm stuck.

Back with another newbie question (I reckon).

Currently i'm using this form: http://www.kartalin.nl/bestellen.php (Dutch).


Upon entering your information you will be send to the confirmation page, where an automated email will be send to you (with the data you entered) and to me (so I can tell an order has been placed).

After that, i'll have to create a invoice and send it to them, a tedious job that i'd much rather have automatized. Even though its already rather obvious what has been ordered, its just that i'm lacking 2 things:


1. I need the invoice number to be identical and in a sequence, so K001, K002, K003 etc. Since i'm currently only using basic HTML in this email, I don't know if that's possible, or how to do it.

2. People pick both a product, and their pick of choice on how to ship the product. There are quite alot of combinations, so for that i'll probably need some tool (called a calculater? haha..) that actually adds those 2 prices and calculates the total amount to be payed. No VAT calculator is needed.


Also i've found the current HTML I send in via the mail to be quite dodgy. I cant use special characters for example, therefor it might be good to have these 2 options in a system that actually allows for full HTML aswell. This could come in handy when I need to create a table to sum those different prices up.

I'm working on a site that has close to a hundred employees, each with an email address. They want me to add a feature to where people can contact these employees, without actually knowing their email address. To do that, I made a new window that pops up when they click to email someone, and it asks the user for their name, email address, and a short message.

My problem is that the contact form is the same for every person. I don't know how to make that form direct to each individual person, without making each page by hand. (Something I don't want to do because there are so many and new employees being added all the time.)
