PHP - Select File Name And Send Name Only
I use WYSIWYG Web Builder. They have a file upload option in their form wizard. But I don't want to upload the file. I only want the name of the selected file sent on submit. No matter what I try it keeps trying to send the file, or just sends a blank when I remove the var
I've looked though the code and this is the only parts I can find that have anything to do with the file upload. There will be more than one select B1-File, B2-File, B3-File etc.... I put one here. I only want to get the file name that is selected not the file to be sent to the server. If someone knows of an easier way to use a file select/browse button and get the file name only and wouldn't mind sharing it. Thanks I have been searching for a solution and have not been able to find the one. Thanks Bob Code: [Select] function ValidateForm1(theForm) { var extension = theForm.FileUpload2.value.substr(theForm.FileUpload2.value.lastIndexOf('.')); if ((extension.toLowerCase() != ".avi") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".doc") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".gif") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".jpg") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".mov") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".mp3") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".mp4") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".mpeg") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".pdf") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".qt") && (extension.toLowerCase() != ".rtf") && (extension != "")) { alert("The \"FileUpload2\" field contains an unapproved filename."); theForm.FileUpload2.focus(); return false; } return true; } <body> <div id="container"> <input type="file" id="FileUpload2" class="Heading 5 <h5>" style="position:absolute;left:455px;top:592px;width:238px;height:22px;z-index:42" name="B1-File"> </form> </div> </body> </html> Similar TutorialsI have tilbud.php file that has no output. Using this as a base: http://www.edmondscommerce.co.uk/mysql/php-mysql-dump-script/, I've managed to strip it down to this: Code: [Select] set_time_limit(0); $mysql_host='localhost'; $mysql_database='database'; $mysql_username='username'; $mysql_password='pasword'; _mysql_test($mysql_host,$mysql_database, $mysql_username, $mysql_password); $print_form = 0; header('Content-type: text/plain'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="'.$mysql_database."_".date('Y-m-d').'.sql"'); $filename = $mysql_database."_".date('Y-m-d').'.sql'; _mysqldump($mysql_database); function _mysqldump($mysql_database) { $sql="show tables;"; $result= mysql_query($sql); if( $result) { while( $row= mysql_fetch_row($result)) { _mysqldump_table_structure($row[0]); _mysqldump_table_data($row[0]); } } else { echo "/* no tables in $mysql_database */\n"; } mysql_free_result($result); } function _mysqldump_table_structure($table) { echo "/* Table structure for table `$table` */\n"; echo "DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `$table`;\n\n"; $sql="show create table `$table`; "; $result=mysql_query($sql); if( $result) { if($row= mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo $row['Create Table'].";\n\n"; } } mysql_free_result($result); } function _mysqldump_table_data($table) { $sql="select * from `$table`;"; $result=mysql_query($sql); if( $result) { $num_rows= mysql_num_rows($result); $num_fields= mysql_num_fields($result); if( $num_rows> 0) { echo "/* dumping data for table `$table` */\n"; $field_type=array(); $i=0; while( $i <$num_fields) { $meta= mysql_fetch_field($result, $i); array_push($field_type, $meta->type); $i++; } echo "insert into `$table` values\n"; $index=0; while( $row= mysql_fetch_row($result)) { echo "("; for( $i=0; $i <$num_fields; $i++) { if( is_null( $row[$i])) echo "null"; else { switch( $field_type[$i]) { case 'int': echo $row[$i]; break; case 'string': case 'blob' : default: echo "'".mysql_real_escape_string($row[$i])."'"; } } if( $i <$num_fields-1) echo ","; } echo ")"; if( $index <$num_rows-1) echo ","; else echo ";"; echo "\n"; $index++; } } } mysql_free_result($result); echo "\n"; } function _mysql_test($mysql_host,$mysql_database, $mysql_username, $mysql_password) { global $output_messages; $link = mysql_connect($mysql_host, $mysql_username, $mysql_password); if (!$link) { array_push($output_messages, 'Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } else { array_push ($output_messages,"Connected with MySQL server:$mysql_username@$mysql_host successfully"); $db_selected = mysql_select_db($mysql_database, $link); if (!$db_selected) { array_push ($output_messages,'Can\'t use $mysql_database : ' . mysql_error()); } else array_push ($output_messages,"Connected with MySQL database:$mysql_database successfully"); } } The problem is, I want the file to save to a specific network location, rather than the output being sent to headers. I've tried to play around with: Code: [Select] ob_start();.... $page = ob_get_contents(); ob_end_flush(); $fp = fopen("output.html","w"); fwrite($fp,$page); fclose($fp); But this outputs to the browser, then saves the file...I would like to load the page, and have the script create and save the file where I want it (without the output in the browser, or prompt to save/download file). This topic has been moved to Ajax Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=322125.0 Hi all, I am quite new to PHP and MySql. I know how to upload a file a and save the path in the DB, but now I need to send an automatic email to the user when a new invoice is added to his directory. Please help. Thanks I would like to store PDF file into mysql (this part works) and then send it as email attachment and it should be retrieved from mysql table. Here's the code I have for now, but what it gives me is 0bytes large PDF file Saving PDF to mysql (it works), because size of blob in mysql table is OK. $fp = fopen('generated.pdf', 'r'); $content = fread($fp,filesize('generated.pdf')); $content = addslashes($content); fclose($fp); $DB->Query('insert into pdf_files (pdf_file, name) values ("'.$content.'", "'.$name.'")'); And here's the mailing part <?php $query = "SELECT name, pdf_file FROM pdf_files $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array ( $result)) { $fileContent =$row['pdf_file']; $fileName=$row['name']; } $fileatt = $fileContent; // getting file $fileatt_type ="application/pdf"; //type of file $fileatt_name = "attachment.pdf"; // name $fileatt_size = $fileSize; $email_from = "dont@have.it"; // mail from $email_subject = "Testtt"; // subject $email_message = "Testtt.<br>"; $email_message .= "Testtt.<br>"; // Message $email_to = $mail_user; // users mail $headers = "From: ".$email_from; $file = fopen($fileatt,'rb'); $data = fread($file,filesize($fileatt)); fclose($file); $semi_rand = md5(time()); $mime_boundary = "==Multipart_Boundary_x{$semi_rand}x"; $headers .= "\nMIME-Version: 1.0\n" . This is the script i use right know, and i want it to become easier because i have so much categories that i want to show and it will take days to write all those categories.
<?php include 'extern/connect-.php'; //***************************************************************************** // categEGORY A //***************************************************************************** $result = mysql_query("select (select count(1) FROM videos WHERE title LIKE '%Accident%') as Accident , (select count(1) FROM videos WHERE title LIKE '%Acrobatic%') as Acrobatic, (select count(1) FROM videos WHERE title LIKE '%Adorable%') as Adorable , (select count(1) FROM videos WHERE title LIKE '%Adventure%') as Adventure, "); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); foreach($row as $title => $total) { echo ' <div id="categ"> <div class="a"> <a href="search.php?search='. $title . '&submit= ">'. $title.' '. $total .'</a></div></div>'; } ?>So what i was thinking is if it is possible to make .txt file and to select from it like this here below, or if something else could help make the categories faster to write and get the best performance to load the webpage... some_file.txt Accident Acrobatic Adorable Adventure <?php include 'extern/connect-.php'; $something ='some_file.txt'; //***************************************************************************** // categEGORY A //***************************************************************************** $result = mysql_query("select (select count(1) FROM videos WHERE $something ......? , echo 'categories'; ?>Any help is Appreciated Thanks in Advance Selected navigation on include file. Hi all I can't think how to do this or even if it's possible so I'm hoping someone can help. I have a simple example here to illustrate. http://www.ttmt.org.uk/three.php It's just four linked pages with a heading and a navigation. The navigation has an id="selected" in the <a> tag for that page that changes the color of that link to show you are on that page - very basic. I wanted the put the navigation on the pages with an include file. Code: [Select] <?php include("php/includes/nav.php"); ?> and have the code for the nav in nav.php nav.php Code: [Select] <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="index.php">Home</a></li> <li><a href="one.php">One</a></li> <li><a href="two.php">Two</a></li> <li><a href="three.php">Three</a></li> </ul> My problem is how can I add the id="selected" to the different links for the different pages if I'm including the navigation code? Hope this makes sense and someone can help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i have a php script: $sql5 = "select *,count(*) from rc_language_type_assoc_table group by language_type_id"; $result5 = mysql_query($sql5); //not correct $count5 = mysql_num_rows($result5); //not correct $myFile = "/home/rainbowcode/StatsFile.txt"; $fh = fopen($myFile, 'w') or die("can't open file"); fwrite($fh, $sql5."\n"); the above is not what i want, i want the actual result set of the select to print in my StatsFile how can i achieve this please??? Hey guys! I'm making a locally run web based application for entering/storing/editing data. I am trying to do this thing where I export a 'records.txt' file to a different location which can be selected by the user. I have a lame <input type='text' value='H:\'> box going on which I was going to use to define the path for the file to be saved, but I want to be able to use a pop up windows (or whatever native OS finder application) just like the one which appears when you use <input type='file'>. Now that I think about it, I think this is more of a html question, but it's 2.30am and my project is due today... See! what the hell, I just habitually pressed ctrl-s after working in dreamweaver for hours and the exact function which I am looking for popped up, how do I do that?! Please thanks guys I am working on a phpmailer script that sends an order confirmation email to the customer AND the client at the same time. If I have the customer email and client email set both to the originating domain's email addresses (myname@myserver.com), then it sends fine. However, if I try to send to an outside mail server (eg. someone@gmail.com), I get the following errors: Code: [Select] SMTP -> FROM SERVER:220 myserver.com ESMTP Exim 4.63 Sat, 18 Sep 2010 15:08:21 -0700 SMTP -> FROM SERVER: 250 myserver.com Hello localhost [127.0.0.1] 250-SIZE 52428800 250-PIPELINING 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN 250-STARTTLS 250 HELP SMTP -> FROM SERVER:250 OK SMTP -> FROM SERVER:250 Accepted SMTP -> FROM SERVER: SMTP -> ERROR: RCPT not accepted from server: SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: someone@gmail.com Message could not be sent. Mailer Error: SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: someone@gmail.com SMTP server error: I'm not sure what's going on here. Any SMTP or phpmailer geniuses here that can shed some light on what needs to happen here for this to send to any address? Hi, I'm trying to setup a quick PHP script that will grab the email from the url (see below) and after inserting into MySQL db - which is working fine - the script will complete two additional tasks: 1. send that same captured email out to a external db as in shown via http://domain1.com/insert.php?email=$lead (example), but then send to a DIFFERENT source - the originator of the lead - a portback acknowledgement using Header (sending the status and email to http://domain2.com/check.php?e=$lead&s=$status for their records). See the code below: ------------------------- Code: [Select] $lead = $_REQUEST['e_mail']; // will grab email from posted url string and assign to local variable $result = mysql_query($command); // this is just to execute the MySQL insert which works just fine but included here to explain validation below // Create API Call string to insert lead into iContact folder $requestURL = "http://domain1.com/insert.php?email=$lead"; // Execute API Call to CAKE $xml = simplexml_load_file($requestURL) or die("feed not loading"); if ($result) { $status = 1; // mark lead as sucess // send postback on lead status header("Location: http://domain2.com/check.php?e=$lead&s=$status"); } -------- Problem: I'm getting all sorts of errors with the simplexml_load_file() function and can't figure out why it won't work. Any input appreciated as this the only way I know how to pass the lead onward and then inform/update the other party of receipt of information. thanks! hirealimo.com.au/code1.php this works as i want it: Quote SELECT * FROM price INNER JOIN vehicle USING (vehicleID) WHERE vehicle.passengers >= 1 AND price.townID = 1 AND price.eventID = 1 but apparelty selecting * is not a good thing???? but if I do this: Quote SELECT priceID, price FROM price INNER JOIN vehicle....etc it works but i lose the info from the vehicle table. but how do i make this work: Quote SELECT priceID, price, type, description, passengers FROM price INNER JOIN vehicle....etc so that i am specifiying which colums from which tables to query?? thanks I have 2 queries that I want to join together to make one row
Dear All, I wish to have 2 drop down boxes, Country Select Box and Locality Select Box. The locality select box will be affected by the value chosen in the country select box. All is working fine except that the locality select box is not being populated. I know that the problem is in the sql statement WHERE country_id='$co' because i am having an error that $co is an undefined variable. All the rest works fine because i have replaced the $co variable directly with a number (say 98) for a particular country id and it worked fine. In what way can i define this variable $co so that it is accepted by my sql statement? Thank you for your help in advance. I am trying to record site activity information from a common.php file using a user object. But since the file is included into different php files based on different situations I need a dynamic way of finding the file name that is including it. I could be over complicating things but right now this seems like the best solution other wise I'll have to rewrite the code on every page i write. Is there a function for doing this? Or if someone gets what I'm trying to do if they could point me to the direction of some more information on it. Thanks.
