PHP - If Statement To Call Custom Field In Wordpress

Hope someone here can help me. Ive been commissioned to convert a template to wordpress that includes a portfolio...

I built a portfolio page from a custom post type. that works.
Items are categorized with a custom taxonomy named port_cats. that works also

On the portfolio page, there is tabbed content built with jquery to show and hide items by category. So theres a category nav menu, plus each item wrapped in classes to show and hide.

Im stuck on plugging this in correctly, and am SO CLOSE. I have the category nav list working, but having trouble getting worpress to read the correct category slug inside the loop.


Heres how the jquery needs to work:

Whats happening is that worpdress is repeating the last category slug on every display item...
can anyone tell me what i have wrong here???

Hi,

I'm new to PHP so sorry if it is difficult to understand my question. I've just added a new custom field for my website home page (home.php). I've image link inside that custom field and now I want to display that image at Home (Home.php ).

Please let me know what code/loop should I add in home.php to get that image display with size of 100*50 px .

I'm working on an application and it seems that the else block is being executed no matter what in the following if statement. My question (which seems really basic and like I should know the answer but I can't seem to remember) is if you have an object instance in an if statement, how does that resolve? Will it resolve to true because there is an object there? I assume/think that would be the behaviour but I can't remember.
Also, I'll point out the class I'm working with is Zend_Mail. From my understanding the send method will return an instance of $this upon success and will throw an exception on failure. The mail is being sent but the else block is executing anyway. I may just throw it in a try catch if that's better.

I am trying to populate a custom field called "Customer Type" current user role.  The custom field is displayed on my checkout page.   I tried the below in my functions.php of my child theme and thought it would work but it does nothing.  Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Ok, I am not sure if I can explain it correctly, but here it goes. I have a form where user is asked to enter up to three name. Let's say that the fields are called [name1], [name2] and [name3] and they are called the came in the table. Now I have a code which allows me to compare what names are in the database versus the name that was entered by the user.

Oh, and they can enter up to three names in the form, but it could be two or one.

Can I code it such:

I need bit of help, so I am looking into a plugin created for newsletter where default is it shows ad but it has option to remove ads by checking the check box. Default is to send ads in newsletter but if you don't want to send ads through newsletter then check the box. The problem is, it seems like checkbox selected is not being picked up. Some help would be appreciated.

I have a php tutorial that I followed for creating, inserting, selecting and updating a MySQL database with php.  Everything works fine so I wanted to put it into Wordpress.  I took the code and placed it into the wordpress page and everything worked just fine except the update function. 

Here is the tutorial I used. http://www.phpsimple.net/mysql_insert_record.html  It is also the part I am having trouble with.  I am able to create a record and I am also able to select a record but when I choose "update" the form doesn't load the data.  It will outside the website but not inside wordpress.  I am hoping this is not vague but because of my inexperience I am not sure what else to say.  I will be more than happy to provide any other information you need.

I'm sure it's not much, but I'm not understanding something with custom error handlers:

I've created a custom error handler, which I initially set when my page loads :

set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' ));

 

It seems to catch all internal PHP errors, such as if I: var_dump($non_existing_var); right after the set_error_handler....

Now, I have an object that throws an exception after:

set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' )); 
$locale = new \CorbeauPerdu\i18n\Locale(...); // this should throw an exception 
...

I thought that with an error handler set, I could 'skip' the try/catch for it, but doing so, PHP spits out in its internal log:

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught CorbeauPerdu\i18n\LocaleException: ....

 

My error handler doesn't catch it at all before, thus my page breaks!!

If I want it to go through the error handler, I have to init my Locale with a try/catch and use trigger_error() like so:

QUESTIONS:

1. I need to call the RequestTicket method and pass the XML string to it.
   I don't know how to do it here(pass the method name to call).

2. For client authentication they gave us three certs, one root cert, one intermediate
   cert and a client authentication cert PROTPLUSSOL_SSOpem(it was a .pfx file). Since we are on linux we converted them to pem . In curl calls I could not find way to how to include both the root cert and the intermediate cert ,so I combined them by making a new pem file and copying the intermediate cert and them the root cert and naming it authority.pem .
I am not sure whether it works or not and would like your opinion.

3. For the current code Iam getting the error
   Error no : 77 Curl error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /home/pps/authority.pem CApath: /home/pps/

 
  If I disable the curl error message,I am getting blank page with page title 403 - Forbidden. Access is denied.

  If I comment out the CURLOPT_CAPATH and CURLOPT_CAINFO lines it gives http 500 error page with the message as content and the following at the top.
