PHP - !preg_match Line For Decimal Number

This is my preg_match code: preg_match("/(\d+)|(T)|(A)/", $link, $matches, PREG_OFFSET_CAPTURE, ($off-30) It works and matches the number I want, except it only returns the first character in the $matches array. For instance, if the number it finds is 10, it only returns 1. Now I understand that is what preg_match does, but how would I make that regex ungreedy? I tried adding a *, but it just made an error, and preg match all would keep searching for strings after the first one. All I want is for the first number, regardless of the length of it, to be returned in full. Thanks for any help.

I need to check the variable $itemDescription to see if the client has entered a '1' before the item description(example: 1 table)

Reason, is the client would like to add sales tax to all NOn-Food related items of 6.25%

This is for a local auction house. It needs to be simple. i,e. Don't wanna add any more form fields. Just let the user type the number 1 before all items that need to be taxed.

 I’ve just read several manual pages and forum comments on "Error number 1064" but I still don’t understand what’s going on with the problem I'm having now … Also, I'm surprised that the error message mentions two different line numbers (1 and 35).

I know my userid is valid and and the date is set above (I've echo'd these out to make sure).  Since the id is auto_increment, I do not put that in my sql (though I've tried that too), nor in my params (tried that too).  What am I missing?  I feel certain it is something small, but I have spent days checking commas, semi-colons and spelling.  Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

Hello, I have problem durring binding update query. I can't find what is causing problem.

I need to display a number(the number is retrieved from the db) in the form input field such that only the last 4 digits is visbile, the remaining can be masked as * or X or whatever is applicable.

I know the last 4 can be obtained as follows:

But when i hit the submit button the form validates the input field and checks if the number is a valid number of a specific format.
Therefore when I click on the submit button then I should still be able to unmask the masked numbers or do something similar that would help me validate the whole number.

I'm making a connection to Active Directory using ADODB connection. I can read almost everything from this but some outputs are in an Octet format.
For example objectSID is giving me only a ?.
Is there somebody that knows how to read or convert this?

it only displays £5.5. when i echo it. How do i get it to display 2 decimal places. So £5.50

I encountered problem in rounding of numbers into two decimal places.

here is my sample code:

the output is: 1417.615

using this:

$TAX = number_format($TAX, 2, '.', '');

the output was : 1417.61

but it should be : 1417.62

I am comparing 2 decimal numbers I am pulling from a mysql file
for ex
$row[0]==$row1[0]
every once in a while i get a bad positive when I do
if($row[0]==$row1[0]) when they are exactly the same?

One query is a SELECT amount FROM table

the other is a select SUM(amount) FROM table2

any ideas why?

I want to compute 150 + 20.95 * 1.01 + .5 so I get '171.65'.

echo (150 + 20.95 * 1.01 + .5); gives me '171.6595'.

I tried echo number_format(150 + 20.95 * 1.01 + .5, 2);, but I got '171.66'.

How can I go about getting '171.65'?
