PHP - Php Pagination Not Showing Css Styling
Hey guys, I have a PHP pagination script, but for some reason the while looping part that shows each row doesnt show the css styling I have.
Here is my code. <?php $tableName="news"; $targetpage = "archive.php"; $limit = 10; $query = "SELECT COUNT(*) as num FROM $tableName"; $total_pages = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query($query)); $total_pages = $total_pages['num']; $stages = 3; $page = mysql_escape_string($_GET['page']); if($page){ $start = ($page - 1) * $limit; }else{ $start = 0; } // Get page data $query1 = "SELECT * FROM $tableName LIMIT $start, $limit"; $result = mysql_query($query1); // Initial page num setup if ($page == 0){$page = 1;} $prev = $page - 1; $next = $page + 1; $lastpage = ceil($total_pages/$limit); $LastPagem1 = $lastpage - 1; $paginate = ''; if($lastpage > 1) { $paginate .= "<div class='paginate'>"; // Previous if ($page > 1){ $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$prev'>previous</a>"; }else{ $paginate.= ""; } // Pages if ($lastpage < 7 + ($stages * 2)) // Not enough pages to breaking it up { for ($counter = 1; $counter <= $lastpage; $counter++) { if ($counter == $page){ $paginate.= "<span class='current'>$counter</span>"; }else{ $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$counter'>$counter</a>";} } } elseif($lastpage > 5 + ($stages * 2)) // Enough pages to hide a few? { // Beginning only hide later pages if($page < 1 + ($stages * 2)) { for ($counter = 1; $counter < 4 + ($stages * 2); $counter++) { if ($counter == $page){ $paginate.= "<span class='current'>$counter</span>"; }else{ $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$counter'>$counter</a>";} } $paginate.= "..."; $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$LastPagem1'>$LastPagem1</a>"; $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$lastpage'>$lastpage</a>"; } // Middle hide some front and some back elseif($lastpage - ($stages * 2) > $page && $page > ($stages * 2)) { $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=1'>1</a>"; $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=2'>2</a>"; $paginate.= "..."; for ($counter = $page - $stages; $counter <= $page + $stages; $counter++) { if ($counter == $page){ $paginate.= "<span class='current'>$counter</span>"; }else{ $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$counter'>$counter</a>";} } $paginate.= "..."; $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$LastPagem1'>$LastPagem1</a>"; $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$lastpage'>$lastpage</a>"; } // End only hide early pages else { $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=1'>1</a>"; $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=2'>2</a>"; $paginate.= "..."; for ($counter = $lastpage - (2 + ($stages * 2)); $counter <= $lastpage; $counter++) { if ($counter == $page){ $paginate.= "<span class='current'>$counter</span>"; }else{ $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$counter'>$counter</a>";} } } } // Next if ($page < $counter - 1){ $paginate.= "<a href='$targetpage?page=$next'>next</a>"; }else{ $paginate.= "<span class='disabled'>next</span>"; } $paginate.= "</div>"; } //echo $total_pages.' Results'; // pagination echo $paginate; ?> <div class="newsBorder"> <table cellspacing="0" border="0" id="newsList" class="width100"> <tbody> <tr class="row_a"> <td width="30%" class="1 first" id="titleCat"> <b>Category</b> </td> <td width="50%" class="item" id="titleTitle"> <b>News Item</b> </td> <td width="20%" align="right" class="date"> <b>Date</b> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <?php while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { ?> <tr class="pad"> <td valign="top"> <a href="list.ws?cat=3&page=1" class="catLink"> <img alt="" src="http://www.runescape.com/img/news/mini_customer_support.gif"> <span>Website</span> </a> </td> <td valign='middle'><a href="news.php?newsid=<?php echo $row['newsid'] ?>" class="titleLink"><?php echo $row['title']; ?> </a></td> <td valign="middle" align="right" class="date"><?php echo $row['dtime']; ?></td></tr><br> <?php } ?> </div> Here is how it looks right now: Here is how I want it to look like. Its basically everything inside the while is not formatting. I have all the CSS I need so that isnt the problem. Thanks for the help ahead of time. Jacob. i have built pages that paginate with 10 rows per page (some pages show more but for the moment i want to focus on this particular page)
//Define Some Options for Pagination $num_rec_per_page=10; if (isset($_GET["page"])) { $page = $_GET["page"]; } else { $page=1; }; $start_from = ($page-1) * $num_rec_per_page; $results = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `ecmt_memberlist` WHERE toonCategory='Capital' AND oldMember = 0 ORDER BY CONCAT(MainToon, Name) LIMIT $start_from, $num_rec_per_page") or die(mysql_error()); $results_array = array(); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($results)) { $results_array[$row['characterID']] = $row; }The above sets the variables for the pagination and below the results are echo with 10 rows per page then i show the pagination links: <?php $sql = "SELECT * FROM `ecmt_memberlist` WHERE toonCategory='Capital' AND oldMember = 0 ORDER BY CONCAT(MainToon, Name)"; $rs_result = mysql_query($sql); //run the query $total_records = mysql_num_rows($rs_result); //count number of records $total_pages = ceil($total_records / $num_rec_per_page); ?> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td align="center"><div style="width:100%; text-align:center;"> <ul class="pagination"> <li class="selected"> <?php echo "<a href='capitalmember.php?page=1'>".'«'."</a> ";?> </li> <? for ($i=1; $i<=$total_pages; $i++) { echo "<li><a href='capitalmember.php?page=".$i."'>".$i."</a></li> "; }; ?> <li class="selected"> <? echo "<a href='capitalmember.php?page=$total_pages'>".'»'."</a> "; // Goto last page ?></li> </ul></div> <?php $pageNr = $page; // Get Current Page Number $from = $pageNr * $rowsPerPage; // 3 * 10 = 30 // 3 * 10 = 30 $to = $from + $rowsPerPage; // 30 + 10 = 40 echo $pageNr; /* Result: From page 30 to 40 */ ?></td> </tr> </table>this works great and shows me 10 results per page, what i need to work out and work on next is: echo the number of results above the records (for example: "showing records 1 to 10" and then on page 2 "showing records 11 to 21" and page 3 "showing records 22 to 32" how can i work out the maths for this echo? i was thinking along the lines of; <?php $pageNr = $page; // Gets Current Page Number $from = $pageNr * $rowsPerPage; // 3 * 10 = 30 $to = $from + $rowsPerPage; // 30 + 10 = 40 // Now Show Results echo $from; // Echo from echo $to // Echo to ?>but i'm still working on this.. then i need to look at shortening the amount of page links on the page if for example i have 500 records it shows me links 1 to 50 and eats up the page.... Appreciate any help and light onto my problems. Many thanks Edited by jacko_162, 11 January 2015 - 05:43 PM. I am pretty new to PHP and am trying to create a simple (so I assumed) page to takes data from one html page(works fine) and updates a MYSQL Database. I am getting no error message, but the connect string down to the end of the body section is showing up as plain text in my browser window. I do not know how to correct this. I have tried using two different types of connect strings and have verified my names from the HTML page are the same as listed within the php page. Suggestions on what I need to look for to correct would be great. I have looked online, but so far all I am getting is how to connect, or how to create a comment, so I thought I would try here. Thank you for any assistance I may get!! - Amy - Code: [Select] <body><font color="006600"> <div style="background-color:#f9f9dd;"> <fieldset> <h1>Asset Entry Results</h1> <?php // create short variable names $tag=$_POST['tag']; $serial=$_POST['serial']; $category=$_POST['category']; $status=$_POST['status']; $branch=$_POST['branch']; $comments=$_POST['comments']; if (!$tag || !$serial || !$category || !$status || !$branch) { echo "You have not entered all the required details.<br />" ."Please go back and try again."; exit; } if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $tag = addslashes($tag); $serial = addslashes($serial); $category = addslashes($category); $status = addslashes($status); $branch = addslashes($branch); $comments = addslashes($comments); } //@ $db = new mysqli('localhost', 'id', 'pw', 'inventory'); $db = DBI->connect("dbi:mysql:inventory:localhost","id","pw") or die("couldnt connect to database"); $query = "insert into assets values ('".$serial."', '".$tag."', '".$branch."', '".$status."', '".$category."', '".$comments."')"; $result = $db->query($query); if ($result) { echo $db->affected_rows." asset inserted into Inventory."; } else { echo "An error has occurred. Bit new to this so bear with me.
I have an API call that outputs to a .php file (the data in the file appears to be xml - no format).
Can you please advise if i would link this to a .css file as per .html to get the formatting i require...if so, can you offer a suggestion on the syntax?
This is my API call:

The number 3 in the first screenshot attachment is what I am looking for on the article count code, it has a div style of Code: [Select] <div class="cart-count"> the number 5 is the output of the code and that is what I need changed to the cart count class. I need the article count to be centered and to the left of the text output code, example of what I am looking for is in screenshot2 attachment. Can someone please help??? Code: [Select] <?php // no direct access defined('_JEXEC') or die('Restricted access'); ?> <div class="articles_count<?php echo $params->get('moduleclass_sfx'); ?>"> <!--- I need this article count to have a different output style then the next php code below, I also need to have it float center and to the left---> <?php foreach($lists->artcount as $key => $value): ?> <!--- End ---> <!--- I need this to float center and right to the above article count code ---> <?php echo trim($params->get('beforeText')); ?> <?php echo $value; ?> <!--- End ---> <?php if ($lists->type == 'section'){ echo trim($params->get('afterTextSection')); } else {echo trim($params->get('afterTextCategory')); } ?> <?php echo $lists->names[$key]; ?> <?php endforeach; ?> In CSS, most people add most styling to the A tag instead of UL or LI. Do you know why?
This topic has been moved to CSS Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=355432.0 Hi. I’m hoping someone can help me pull the styling/formatting from a static page onto a category template. The content is pulling fine, but it's not formatted/styled. Code used to pull content from static page onto custom category template: <?php $page = get_page_by_title( 'page-name' ); $content = apply_filters('the_content', $page->post_content); echo $content; ?> With the above code, the content is being pulled, but the formatting and styling is not being pulled. The following code is adapted to pull the styling/formatting: <?php $page = get_page_by_title( 'Wedding Venues in Costa Rica' ); $content = apply_filters('the_content', $page->post_content); echo do_blocks( $content );> It did not pull the styling/formatting. We’re using GeneratePress Pro + Generate Blocks (no page builder). The static page is built with Gutenberg and GenerateBlocks. By the way, I'mm not a coder or a developer. I know a little about this and about that, but this isn't my field of expertise. Could someone please suggest what can be done to this code to get it to pull the styling form the static page onto the custom category template? Thank you very much. <?php require_once('upper.php'); // Connects to your Database require_once('database.php'); //This checks to see if there is a page number. When clicking a topic say category - products matching that category show, which is fine only if there is more than say 12 records i need to split it between php pages. Again works fine on the first page but when I click previous or last it ignores the id (category) and lists all the products not only under 'Black' I am really new to PHP so if you can help please could you show me on my code below so I can make sense of it. here's my could for the category :- <a href='shop_online2.php?id=<?php echo($row['id']) ?>'> <?php echo($row['description']) ?></a> <?php } while ($row_cat = mysql_fetch_assoc($cat)); ?> here's my code for the next button :- <? if (!($start>=$record_count-$per_page)) echo " <a href='shop_online2.php?start= $next '>Next</a> "; ?> Hopefully I will only have to add a variable in the last statement, if so could you please show me the correct formatting for this. Hope this makes sense ?? Thanks Marc Using the tutorial from php freaks i was able to get pagination working on my site. How ever there are a few changes id like to make. I would like to have it listed in 2 columns. The other problem that I'm having is when i attempt to add class="nav" to the next page link i get an error. Can a class be used in a php echo? Here's what I have. Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); $rank=$_SESSION['rank']; $loggedinusername=$_SESSION['loggedinusername']; $loggedinuseremail=$_SESSION['loggedinuseremail']; ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Drink To The Credits</title> <link href="mainstyle.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body class="background"> <div id="header"> <?php include_once"header.php" ?></div> <div id="content"> <?php include"scripts/connect.php" ; mysql_connect('localhost',$username,$password); @mysql_select_db($database) or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); $sql = "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM movies WHERE type LIKE 'movie'"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); $r = mysql_fetch_row($result); $numrows = $r[0]; $rowsperpage = 15; $totalpages = ceil($numrows / $rowsperpage); if (isset($_GET['currentpage']) && is_numeric($_GET['currentpage'])) { $currentpage = (int) $_GET['currentpage']; } else { $currentpage = 1; } if ($currentpage > $totalpages) { $currentpage = $totalpages; } if ($currentpage < 1) { $currentpage = 1; } $offset = ($currentpage - 1) * $rowsperpage; $sql = "SELECT title FROM movies ORDER BY title LIMIT $offset, $rowsperpage" ; $result = mysql_query($sql) or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); while ($list = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { ?> <tr> <td> <a class="nav" href=/rules.php?title=<?php echo urlencode($list['title']); ?>><?php echo $list['title']; ?></a> <br /> <?php } $range = 3; if ($currentpage > 1) { echo " <a href='<?php {$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}?currentpage=1'><<</a> "; $prevpage = $currentpage - 1; echo " <a href='{$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}?currentpage=$prevpage'><</a> "; } for ($x = ($currentpage - $range); $x < (($currentpage + $range) + 1); $x++) { if (($x > 0) && ($x <= $totalpages)) { if ($x == $currentpage) { echo " [<b>$x</b>] "; } else { echo " <a href='{$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}?currentpage=$x'>$x</a> "; } } } if ($currentpage != $totalpages) { $nextpage = $currentpage + 1; echo " <a href='{$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}?currentpage=$nextpage'>></a> "; echo " <a href='{$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}?currentpage=$totalpages'>>></a> "; } // built with a tutorial from php freaks ?> </div> <div id="sidecontent"><?php include_once"newmovies.php" ?></div> <div id="footer"> <?php include_once"footer.php" ?></div> </body> </html> Thank you in advance Hi guys, I have a question about pagination. It's not really about the coding side so I'm really sorry if this is the wrong section! Ok my question is, does pagination actually create multiple pages? I'm really new to PHP and I'm just reading through different things and tutorials to try and figure it out if you will. So does it create new pages? From my understanding it simply changes a variable to a page number and uses that page number (and simple matH) to figure out what rows to show. If this is the case, how do people use pagination to create links such as http://example.com/imnooby/page-1 http://example.com/imnooby/page-2 http://example.com/imnooby/page-3 Surely if this was all just one page, it would just be http://example.com/imnooby/page and the variable would change depending on the button, but the same page would be reloaded? This is the part that's really bugging me and any explanation would really help. i have some code which checks all of the posts in the database with the topic_id of $topic_id. what i want to do is like on many forums. On the topic list next to the name just show the pages like: Code: [Select] 1-2-3-4 and when there are more than 4 or so Code: [Select] 1-2....8-9 here is the code which gets the number of pages: $data = $db->query("SELECT * FROM ".DB_PREFIX."posts WHERE topic_id = '$topic_info->topic_id'"); $rows = mysql_num_rows($data); $page_rows = $posts_per_page; if ($rows > $page_rows) { $rowsArray = array($rows); } as you can see i have added it into an array but i dont know what to do from there. I guessed it would be something like a for statement but im not sure. Can anyone help? |
