PHP - Adding Sql Data To An Php Array
Hi everyone,
Hope someone can help. Does anyone know why this is nor displaying any data? Code: [Select] $qry = mysql_query("select * from product"); $data = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($qry)){ $productName[] =$row['productName']; // Item name } for($i=0;$i<mysql_num_rows($row);$i++) { $data = $productName[$i]; } return $data; Thanks in advance Edd Similar TutorialsUsing curl_multi, I have loaded up 3 url's and then printed the array. 1) How can I also set a timestamp on output to let me know when each url was run? 2) How can I explode the array to only display the data and timestamp, excluding the text "Array ( =>", "[1] =>", "[2] =>" and " )"? Code <?php function multiRequest($data, $options = array()) { // array of curl handles $curly = array(); // data to be returned $result = array(); // multi handle $mh = curl_multi_init(); // loop through $data and create curl handles // then add them to the multi-handle foreach ($data as $id => $d) { $curly[$id] = curl_init(); $url = (is_array($d) && !empty($d['url'])) ? $d['url'] : $d; curl_setopt($curly[$id], CURLOPT_URL, $url); curl_setopt($curly[$id], CURLOPT_HEADER, 0); curl_setopt($curly[$id], CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); // post? if (is_array($d)) { if (!empty($d['post'])) { curl_setopt($curly[$id], CURLOPT_POST, 1); curl_setopt($curly[$id], CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $d['post']); } } // extra options? if (!empty($options)) { curl_setopt_array($curly[$id], $options); } curl_multi_add_handle($mh, $curly[$id]); } // execute the handles $running = null; do { curl_multi_exec($mh, $running); } while($running > 0); // get content and remove handles foreach($curly as $id => $c) { $result[$id] = curl_multi_getcontent($c); curl_multi_remove_handle($mh, $c); } // all done curl_multi_close($mh); return $result; } $data = array(array(),array()); $data[0]['url'] = 'http://search.yahooapis.com/VideoSearchService/V1/videoSearch?appid=YahooDemo&query=Pearl+Jam&output=json'; $data[1]['url'] = 'http://search.yahooapis.com/VideoSearchService/V1/videoSearch?appid=YahooDemo&query=Black+Eyed+Peas&output=json'; $data[2]['url'] = 'http://search.yahooapis.com/VideoSearchService/V1/videoSearch?appid=YahooDemo&query=Nirvana&output=json'; $r = multiRequest($data); print_r($r); ?> Output Array ( => Pearl Jam [1] => Black Eyed Peas [2] => Nirvana ) Preferred Output 01:00:01 Pearl Jam 01:00:02 Black Eyed Peas 01:00:03 Nirvana I'm creating a tool for building project proposals for clients, with pricing. I have a database with two tables: services and clients. The services table looks like this: Code: [Select] | code | name | cost | +-------------+-------------+------+ | logo_design | Logo design | 10 | | web_design | Web design | 20 | The clients table looks like this: Code: [Select] | id | client | logo_design | web_design | +----+---------+-------------+------------+ | 1 | Walrus | yes | yes | | 2 | Narwhal | no | yes | How would I link the results from these two tables so that I only pull out the services each person wants from the database? Here is what I have so far: Code: [Select] <? $sql = "SELECT * FROM services"; $result = mysql_query($sql); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result,MYSQL_ASSOC)) { echo $row{'name'} . ': $' . $row{'cost'} . '<br />'; } ?> This, of course, displays all the services, with all the prices, like so: Logo design: $10 Web design: $20 I want to add something here so that based on the selected client, we see only the services/prices they selected (ol' Narwhal's page would not show the "Logo Design" line). I've got the data from "clients" pulled in to this page as well, but don't know how to relate it to "services." Thanks in advance! Let me know if I've left out any info that would help you to point me in the right direction. So I'm querying my database to add the results (mapID's) into a PHP array. The MySQL query I used in the below code would usually return 10 values (only 10 mapID's in the database) Code: [Select] while($data = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query("SELECT mapID FROM maps"))){ $sqlsearchdata[] = $data['mapID']; } Instead the page takes ages to load then gives this error: Quote Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16 bytes) It says the error begins on the first line of the above code. I'm assuming this is not the right way to add the value from the MySQL array into a normal PHP array. Can anyone help me? Hi, after banging my head against the wall for a while thinking this would be a simple task, I'm discovering that this is more complicated than I thought. Basically what I have is a link table linking together source_id and subject_id. For each subject there are multiple sources associated with each. I had created a basic listing of sources by subject... no problem. I now need a way of having a form to create an ordered list in a user-specified way. In other words, I can currently order by id or alphabetically (subject name lives on a different table), but I need the option of choosing the order in which they display. I added another row to this table called order_by. No problem again, and I can manage all of this in the database, however I want to create a basic form where I can view sources by subject and then enter a number that I can use for sorting. I started off looping through each of the entries and the database (with a where), and creating a foreach like so (with the subject_id being grabbed via GET from the URL on a previous script) Code: [Select] while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($rs)) { //update row order if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { //get variables, and assign order $subject_id = $_GET['subject_id']; $order_by = $_POST['order_by']; $source_id = $row['source_id']; //echo 'Order by entered as ' . $order_by . '<br />'; foreach ($_POST['order_by'] as $order_by) { $qorder = "UPDATE source_subject set order_by = '$order_by' WHERE source_id = '$source_id' AND subject_id = '$subject_id'"; mysqli_query($dbc, $qorder) or die ('could not insert order'); // echo $subject_id . ', ' . $order_by . ', ' . $source_id; // echo '<br />'; } } else { $subject_id = $_GET['subject_id']; $order_by = $row['order_by']; $source_id = $row['source_id']; } And have the line in the form like so: Code: [Select] echo '<input type="text" id="order_by" name="order_by[]" size="1" value="'. $order_by .'"/> (yes I know I didn't escape the input field... it's all stored in an htaccess protected directory; I will clean it up later once I get it to work) This, of course, results in every source_id getting the same "order_by" no matter what I put into each field. I'm thinking that I need to do some sort of foreach where I go through foreach source_id and have it update the "order_by" field for each one, but I must admit I'm not sure how to go about this (the flaws of being self-taught I suppose; I don't have anyone to go to on this). I'm hoping someone here can help? Thanks a ton in advance hi i am trying to make a payroll calculator script that takes employee info, calculates pay, displays submitted info in a table, stores info in an array, and updates the array when new info is submitted. i have most of these accomplished, i am having trouble with the "store into an array, and update the array when new info is submitted" parts of the project. i am still not very fluent in php so there may be easier ways to achieve what i have so far. any pointers would be a great help, this part has got me stumped. nevermind. Hi. I have a list of prices in my database - I.E: NAME ------------ PRICE ----------------------------- APPLE ------------- 1.00 PEAR --------------- 1.00 BANANA ----------- 1.92 ----------------------------- in php i want to add the tables data together to show a total price for that columns data. I.E: Total cost: 3.92 How on earth do I do this? :S! Many Thanks Hi People. I am having a problem with this form and for the life of me can't see where I have made the mistake. On line 33 I have commented where I get the problem. If I remove this line (or comment it out) and remove the insert statements for that line then it all works and I can see the php form on my live site. However, with this in, as it is, I can't see anything, I get a blank page altogether. Please, can anyone see my mistake? I have been going over the code now for ages and it's getting late, and I probably am missing something stupid. This is all working perfectly but at the minute it is only displaying one tweet and I would like it to display as many as the variable $limit is set to. I have tried numerous count with while loops but just cannot seem to get my head around the logic of it. Here is the code im currently using which displays one tweet. <?php $username = "my_twitter_username"; $limit = "2"; $twitter_url = "http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/$username.xml?count=$limit"; $buffer = file_get_contents($twitter_url); $xml = new SimpleXMLElement($buffer); $status_item = $xml -> status; $status_id = $xml -> status -> id; $user_item = $xml -> status -> user; $user_id = $xml -> status -> user -> screen_name; $description = $status_item -> text; $status_time = $status_item -> created_at; $status_img = $user_item -> profile_image_url; $description = preg_replace("#(^|[\n ])([\w]+?://[\w]+[^ \"\n\r\t< ]*)#", "\\1<a href=\"\\2\" target=\"_blank\">\\2</a>", $description); $description = preg_replace("#(^|[\n ])((www|ftp)\.[^ \"\t\n\r< ]*)#", "\\1<a href=\"http://\\2\" target=\"_blank\">\\2</a>", $description); $description = preg_replace("/@(\w+)/", "<a href=\"http://www.twitter.com/\\1\" target=\"_blank\">@\\1</a>", $description); $description = preg_replace("/#(\w+)/", "<a href=\"http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23\\1\" target=\"_blank\">#\\1</a>", $description); echo " <div class='tweet-wrapper'> <div class='tweet-img'> <a href='http://www.twitter.com/la__academia' target='_BLANK'><img src='$status_img' alt='La Academia Twitter' style='width:30px height:30px;' /></a> </div><!-- tweet-img --> <div class='tweet-text'> <p class='tweet-p'>$description</p> <p class='tweet-time'>$status_time . <a href='http://twitter.com/?status=@$user_id%20&in_reply_to_status_id=$status_id&in_reply_to=$user_id' target='_BLANK' class='tweet-reply'>Reply</a></p> </div><!-- tweet-text --> <div class='cleaner'></div> </div><!-- tweet-wrapper --> "; ?> Thanks for any help. I have two tables 'book' and 'category'. They look like the following in phpmyadmin;
book
id title author category isbn ---- ------- ---------- ---------- ------- 1 Treasure Chest Jim Jones 1 14252637 2 Pirates Boat Sue Smith 2 88447737 3 Adventure Land Harry Jo 3 01918273 4 Winter Week Sam Dill 3 00999337 5 The Twite Roald Dahl Fiction 87873366 category id cat_name ---- ------- 1 Horror 2 Kids 3 Fiction 4 Science Users have the option of adding books into the library via an online form, or via a Google Booka api method (user enters isbn, searches, is presented with book info and then clicks 'add to library', done.). This is handled via ajax. The online form works fine, and successfully adds the book info. However my problem is with the Google Books method, it successfully adds the data to the db however the category column is in text format (i.e 'Juvenile Science' or 'Scary Fiction') as opposed to the manual form which adds categories as 1, 2 or 3 (1 =Horror, 2 = Kids, 3 = Fiction). Is there any way I can add the Google Book category data to my table and convert it to an integer or similar? Not sure what I need to do. Suggestions appreciated! Should I add the Google entries to another table (i.e googleCategory)? My HTML only outputs the numbered category entries and ignored the text format entries. my php $sql = "SELECT b.id, b.title, b.author, b.isbn, b.publicationYear, c.cat_name FROM book AS b INNER JOIN category AS c ON b.category = c.id WHERE status != 'Archive' ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT $startrow, 15 "; $res = $conn->query($sql) or trigger_error($conn->error."[$sql]"); while($row = $res->fetch_array()) { echo '<tbody>'; echo '<tr>'; echo '<td>' . $row['id'] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row['title'] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row['author'] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row['cat_name'] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row['isbn'] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row['publicationYear'] . '</td>'; echo '</tr>'; echo '</tbody>'; };Apologies if this is all a bit confusing I am very new to php and mysql. Hi I currently pass a URL to our website as follows: http://website.com/?nid=10 but want to extend this to include a keyword from google as well. For example http://website.com/?nid=10&kw={keyword}. However it may not always have a keyword so if it does not it needs to just use the nid array. This is the current script, how do I go about changing it so that if it just contains a nid and no keyword it will do one search of the array and return the result, and if it does have a nid&keywordod it returns something different. For example if it had nid=1 it would return 0844 000 0300 and if it had nid=1&kw=help it would return 0844 000 0350 Thats what I am looking to achieve. Is this possible and how do I change the array. I have had a little attempt but not sure what I am doing and just got coding errors. <?php $GLOBALS['ct_get_parameter_name'] = 'nid'; $GLOBALS['ct_default_number_id'] = 0; // source_id => phone number $GLOBALS['numbers'] = array( 0 => '0844 000 3000', 1 => '0844 000 0300', 2 => '0844 000 0301', 3 => '0844 000 0302', ); session_start(); if (array_key_exists($GLOBALS['ct_get_parameter_name'], $_REQUEST)) { $_SESSION['ct_source'] = $_REQUEST[$GLOBALS['ct_get_parameter_name']]; } function get_phone_number() { $numbers =& $GLOBALS['numbers']; $default_number_id = $GLOBALS['ct_default_number_id']; if (isset($_SESSION['ct_source'])) { if (array_key_exists($_SESSION['ct_source'], $numbers)) { return $numbers[$_SESSION['ct_source']]; } else { // otherwise return first number return $numbers[$default_number_id]; } } else { // return first number return $numbers[$default_number_id]; } } ?> Many thanks in advance. Roy Here's the code: Code: [Select] $year_values = array('Any', 'N/A', '2000', '2001', '2002', '2003', '2004', '2005', '2006', '2007', '2008', '2009', '2010', '2011', '2012'); $db_year = explode(', ', $row['YEAR']); foreach($year_values as $year_value) { $selected_year = null; $year_label = $year_value; if(in_array($year_value, $db_year)) { $selected_year = ' checked="checked"'; $year_label = "<b>$year_value</b>"; } echo '<input type="checkbox" name="year" value="' . $year_value . '"' . $selected_year . ' />' . $year_label . ' '; } ?> [/code That pulls the data of the database and puts it in check boxes. The user can check/uncheck certain boxes but the problem is when it goes to the verify page it has only one value from the array that was selected. On the verify page it just checks if a box was checked and then implodes the array before submitting it into the database. [code] $year_s=implode($year,", "); So like I said there is only one value from the array when there should be as many as the user checks. So basically I believe the value isn't added to the array. i need help with adding an integer into an array something like this $Loaded[count($Loaded)+1] = $To; from what i understand from the coding... $form->getField('uri') is for the Sql table field (field uri) location and ->getValue() is the inputbox Value so ->setUri is grabbing the inputbox value and inserting it into Field 'uri' but what I need to do is combine getValue with the string/url profile.site.com/file?name= Code: [Select] $new_uri ->setUri($form->getField('uri')->getValue()) ->setHost($form->getField('host')->getValue()) ->setUser($user->isAuthorized() ? $user->getId() : 0) ->save(); I'm trying to add some data into my database through a form interface, but this form submits even when the page loads. This means the form submits regardless of the validation I have set in place, so every time the page is loaded, the database receives empty fields. Could you guys please help me with my problem?
