Hi, My program works on WAMP (PHP Version 5.5.12) running on my machine. However, the same program will not run on remote server (PHP Version 5.4.32). Basically, I'm trying to insert values obtained from a form into a database. I've checked and rechecked the table I'm inserting into and I can't find anything wrong with it. The trouble is it's hard to debug a PHP program. Unlike, say, C++ which requires a compiler, you can trace the program line by line to look for errors. That's not possible with PHP and makes it so much harder to look for faults. The relevant functions used to send data to database are shown below. insert() is returning false every time and I can't understand why! I wonder if anyone can suggest where things might be going wrong. I would be very grateful. public function insert($table, $fields = array()) { if(count($fields)) //true if $fields holds data { $keys = array_keys($fields); $values = ''; //to put inside query $x = 1; foreach($fields as $field) { $values .= '?'; if($x < count($fields)) { $values .= ', '; } $x++; } $sql = "INSERT INTO {$table} (`".implode('`, `', $keys) . "`) VALUES({$values})"; if(!$this->query($sql, $fields)->error()) { return true; } } return false; } public function query($sql, $darams = array()) { $this->_error = false; //reset error if($this->_query = $this->_pdo->prepare($sql)) { $x = 1; if(count($darams)) { foreach($darams as $param) { $this->_query->bindValue($x, $param); $x++; } } if($this->_query->execute()) { $this->_results = $this->_query->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_OBJ); $this->_count = $this->_query->rowCount(); } else //an error has occured in SQL query { $this->_error = true; } } return $this; } public function error() { return $this->_error; } public function count() { return $this->_count; }
I'm currently trying to building a websocket widget, using node package manager(NPM),WAMPserver and electronjs. I have been working on a blog program with a tag system. When I add tags and ask to display them to a certain webpage they all appear on my WAMP environment but not my live server. Any thoughts as to why this might be? Here is the code needed to display the tags. I am not sure if maybe live servers have restrictions that might be stopping it from displaying.
This is on the main page to display the tags.
<div class="widget"> <?php echo '<h2>Tags</h2>'; echo '<ul>'; getTagCount($DBH); echo '</ul>'; ?> </div>Next here is the function from the includes file. function getTagCount($DBH) { //Make the connection and grab all the tag's TAG TABLE HAS TWO FIELDS id and name $stmt = $DBH->query("SELECT * FROM tags"); $stmt->execute(); $result = array(); $result = $stmt->fetchAll(); //For each row pulled do the following foreach ($result as $row){ //set the tagId and tagName to the id and name fields from the tags table $tagId = $row['id']; $tagName = ucfirst($row['name']); //Next grab the list of used tags BLOG_POST_TAGS TABLE HAS TWO FILEDS blog_post_id and tag_id $stmt2 = $DBH->query("SELECT count(*) FROM blog_post_tags WHERE tag_id = " . $tagId); $stmt2->execute(); $tagCount = $stmt2->fetchColumn(); //Print the following list echo '<li><a href="blog_tags.php?tagId=' . $tagId . '"title="' . $tagName . '">' . $tagName . '(' . $tagCount . ')</a></li></form>'; //End of loop - start again } }The "tags" database is structured like so id, name The "blog_post_tags" is structured like so, blog_post_id, tag_id On the WAMP server it returns all of tags while the live server only returns the first one. Any suggestions on what is going on? If you need any other info please let me know. Hi, I have a mail script to that will take a long time to process, let me call it form2.php Now I post from form1.php to form2.php. I like to run/execute the form2.php in the background so that the user will not wait for the time executing the form2.php. I have used exec and shell_exec but not success. I am using latest WAMP server in my local mechine. Thanks <?php shell_exe ("172.18.9.25\photoshop\photoshop.exe"); ?> When I run this from the server computer program opening. But when i tried from a diferent computer it is only downloading the exe file to the client computer. How can I open the application from a diferent computer in the same network. Hello, I've been assigned the task of creating an internal site for our office that has links to all the websites we use as well as the applications we use. I'm very comfortable using php with mysql for handling forms and displaying database information but I'm not sure how to go about this. So my question is, is there anyway I can use php to open an exe file? Hi folks, I'm curious if I can for example, save a file from my server and it will save to all other servers - obviously if they accepted the connection first. It's for a software I developed and is almost complete and know there will be frequent updates to it. Instead of users downloading upates, I want the update files from my server to somehow synchronize to their server automatically? Anything called this?? Thanks for info. guys i wand to execute a program on my seerver, i use the $_SESSION['tmp'] = exec("print.exe", $results); and works but when i change the directory $_SESSION['tmp'] = exec("d:\\print\\user1\\print.exe", $results); dont work, works only in root directory, is any way to set the execution to other directorys?? thanks I am trying to get a php script on a remote server to execute on my server but im having problems getting it to work, and i am not sure if it is even feasible i have had a look on google but i cant find much information on it. This is what i have tried up to now I saved a php script as a txt file on y remote server. then used file_get_contents on my home server $curl_scraped_page = file_get_contents('http://www.remote_server.com/script.txt'); the content of the txt file was $sum = 1+1; then i tried to echo $sum on the home server but i did not work can anyone point me in the right direction or is what i am trying to do even feasible? Thanks in advanced Hey guys, im starting out on my php journey with a small question. I have a small uploading site and i want to allow php uploads. Once uploaded, you get a direct upload link, and i want the file to download, rather than execute. How can this be done? Thanks! Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I need to be able to run some PHP code before anything loads up on the server. Hello, I need to execute a remote web page (distant server) every X seconds. How is it possible and is there any way to make it look exactly like a normal user request through a standard browser like Firefox, Chrome, etc. ? I've heard of cURL, but it seems that servers may block it, so there must be somehow a difference between a usual user request and a cURL execution. Thank you for any help ! :-) Matthew What I'm trying to do is copy all files from one server to another folder on another server. Here is what I have have so far.. <?PHP //connection settings $ftp_server = "server"; $ftp_user_name = "user"; $ftp_user_pass = "pass"; $dir = "/var/test/"; $destination_file = "/test/"; // set up basic connection $conn_id = ftp_connect($ftp_server); // login with username and password $login_result = ftp_login($conn_id, $ftp_user_name, $ftp_user_pass); // check connection if ((!$conn_id) || (!$login_result)) { echo "FTP connection has failed!"; echo "Attempted to connect to $ftp_server for user $ftp_user_name"; exit; } else { echo "Connected to $ftp_server, for user $ftp_user_name"; } if (ftp_chdir($conn_id, $dir)) { echo " <br/>Current directory is now: " . ftp_pwd($conn_id) . "\n<p/>"; } else { echo "Couldn't change directory\n<p/>"; } $buff = ftp_rawlist($conn_id, $dir); foreach($buff as $files) { echo $files. "<br/>"; if (ftp_get($conn_id, $destination_file."test.file", $dir."test.txt", FTP_BINARY)) { echo "<br/>Successfully written to $destination_file\n"; } else { echo "There was a problem\n"; } ?> That doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks, Sean Hey All, First post so please be gentle! I have a website www.antiquesattic.co.uk and i have been left in the lurch and without it being fully finished. I want to add google analytics code to everypage and i am a bit stuck. I have access to the server (apache 2.2.19) and have been able to add site maps etc but i am not sure where to paste the analytics code. Which folder would i look in and whereabouts do i paste. I would be extremely extremely grateful if someone could do me a quick step by step guide Also, if you would like to have a look at the website and give me some feedback that would be great! One final thing, i can't add content to the homepage just auctions, would it be a easy job to get some one to edit the site so i can add say 1000 words of text at the bottom of the homepage from my admin area? Apologies for the noob questions but my expertise is in sales and marketing not coding. Thanks Chris I have a php script that I wrote that enters information into a database and uploads images to the server. What I need to do now is delete the files from the server when the corresponding database records are deleted. How would I go about doing that? Just thinking last night trying to speed some things up, how hard is it to have a text file on the server that can only be edited by PHP? Or is there a way of making a folder unreadable to anyone?, this way I could have all the text files in the non-readable (non-viewable) folder so no user could edit them? James EDIT. When starting this post, I thought it was causing the browser to make an extra request to the server. I've since found this wasn't the case, however, didn't change the title of this post, and can't seem to change it to something like "Critique of file caching script"
I am trying to cache a file, and put together the following script. I put the following in the browser:
https://test.sites.example.com/administrator/index.php?cid=2&controller=sell&id=643341356... and Apache will rewrite as: https://test.sites.example.com/index.php?admin=administrator&cid=2&controller=sell&id=643341356index.php includes the following line: <script src="/lib/js/clientConstants.php?b=1" type="text/javascript"> I set up functionality for a client that got moved to their server after I wrote and tested the functionality. It does not work on their server and I am trying to trouble shoot the problem as I do not have ftp access to the server.
I believe that I have narrowed it down to either I do not know how to access the temp files on their server, Windows IIS, OR the security on the server is not allowing me to upload to the temp files.
Here is the form used to upload to the server.
<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="#" method="post" > <input type="hidden" name="upload_csv" value="TRUE" /> <p><label for="userfile">Upload CSV:</label> <input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="45000000" /> <input type="file" id="userfile" name="userfile" title="userfile" value="" /></p> <p><input type="submit" name="upload_csv" value="Upload CSV" /></p> </form> Here is the test code: <?php $csvfile = $_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name']; $size = $_FILES['userfile']['size']; if($_POST['upload_csv']){ //---------------------------------validation code here if($problem){ echo '<div class="error">Did not pass validation</div>'; include("upload_csv.inc.php"); }else{ if (($handle = fopen($csvfile, "r")) !== FALSE) { //--------------------------------------------------------------this is where the code that imports the data from the csv and to the database goes echo '<div class="message"><p>CSV has been opened!</p></div>'; }elseif(!$csvfile){ echo '<div class="error">Problem #1</div>'; }else{ echo '<div class="error">Problem #2</div>'; } } }else{ include("upload_csv.inc.php"); } ?> This code generated the error message: Problem #2. One more bit of information: the permissions on the server is set so that nothing can be uploaded by an external script. I do not know much about servers, but it seems to me that because the security is so tight on the server, the security is the reason that this does not work...??? I appreciate help with this. I just am not knowledgeable on how the $_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'] code actually works? I'm trying to find a way to back up an entire servers file through PHP. I have a script that can take selected files into a zip file but I'm not sure how to make sure that when I loop through directory and files that I get every single file. I was thinking of just foreach(glob('*') as $file up to 10 times but I'm hoping there's something more definite then that method... Thanks |
