PHP - Update Relation To Time
Ohhh, these thoughts just run through my head as I sleep. But will it work?
Can I set a function so that my UPDATE form will NOT execute after a certain DATE (or even a time of day?) I'm thinking something along the lines of: $time=timestamp if $time>19:00 echo" You need to make changes before 7:PM"; else (UPDATE... yadda yadda yadda) Yes, i know this is worse than a rough draft, but will it work? Is it acceptable methodology? Similar TutorialsI have a form right now that Updates a table on my database. I was wondering if I could possibly still have that working but also Insert the same information into another table on the database when the submit button is pressed? hi my db table has 2 field: ID - Place 1 France 2 Germany My form has 2 text field (printed with while cycle). mysql_query("UPDATE mytable SET Place = '" . $_POST['place'] . "' WHERE ID=". $_POST['ID']." "); This query doesn't work, because updates only the last record. Where is wrong? many thanks Hi i need to count the number items in an album now on the album i have create a field called count which counts the number items in that album but now i dnt knw how to update those as soon insert a item in the table item so i thought woul be possible to create a script that when insert data into item tables also update album table row count by adding one like update count with A now A equal row count ++1 any help on start of it if possible???/ I have this code to change the validity date of an account. I do a check against timestamp and current validity which works fine. Then I have radio buttons you can check to choose to extend with one, three, six or 12 months through a form and a post variable - they work too. When I write the variables out they look fine but when I want it in my database - nothing happens! I mean the original data is never changed. Can you see what is wrong? I tried changing the data type from date to datetime to timestamp with the same result. I suppose I will learn something new from phpfreaks today again. Code is here for the 12 month radio button: Code: [Select] $newdate = strtotime ( '+12 months' , strtotime ($fromDate) ) ; $newdate = date ('Y-m-d H:i:s', $newdate ); echo "$newdate"; $query = "UPDATE TABLE user_data SET paid_days='$newdate' WHERE user='$user'"; mysql_query($query);When I write the variable $newdate it shows up as 2013-01-10 21:55 (right now) which seems like a valid format to me. Do I need to convert it somehow? This topic has been moved to MySQL Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=315056.0 Is there any way to have a field that will update any time its row is updated?
My situation is that I will have multiple devices writing to a database, and in one case the time that is being kept track of is important. And the devices writing to the database are a bit difficult to keep accurate times on, so instead of writing the time from the devices themselves, I was hoping I could just have a field update itself. I know it can be done on INSERT, but I do not want to do an INSERT every time.
Thanks!
The table is: next next_id id 0 2 1 1 3 2 0 4 3 0 1 4 The form: <?php include 'dbc.php'; page_protect(); if(!checkAdmin()) { header("Location: login.php"); exit(); } if($_POST['doSubmit'] == 'Create') { list($next_id) = mysql_fetch_row(mysql_query("select next_id from users where id='$id'")); mysql_query("update users set approved='1' where id='$id'"); mysql_query("update users set next='1' where id='$next_id'"); mysql_query("update users set next='0' where id='$id'"); list($to_email) = mysql_fetch_row(mysql_query("select user_email from users where id='$id'")); $ret = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . Here to learn. Thank you for any clues! I'm working on a chat using basic textarea input, post, but the problem that I'm facing is, if a person doesn't send something, then the output is not updated eg. other messages from other users updating in real time.
How is that achieved when you see new database entries pop up live, milliseconds after they are entered?
Do I set a constant refresh rate of some sort?
How do you update a section of a webpage without "refreshing" the entire page like the POST method?
I'm not looking for code, mostly just some direction, but I'm sure I'll be back as I try to shape the code. Also, I know very little about coding jQuery, Ajax, etc. Here is what I'm looking for: Basketball coach enters a Page that only he (or admin) can see. (I have that part figured out.) Once there, he has a form to fill out with a player's name and other information. I'd rather there not be 12 rows of empty cells. (Coaches will view that as work) I'd rather not have the Page reload on each "Add", but that would be the lesser of two evils. Is there a way to keep a persistent connection so when a coach hits Add, the player gets added to the database, a new empty form shows up, and the player's information shows up below on a roster? I have a database table of plants, one of chemicals, one of products, one of illnesses. Each table is connected, for example lets say opium poppies. They contain the chemical morphine. Morphine is used in painkiller products. Its used to treat pain and other illnesses. On the opium poppy page, I want to list all the chemicals found in the poppy. All the products (i.e. opium, laudanum) made from the poppy. All the illnesses which are treated with the poppy. Users need to be able to edit this page, and enter chemicals, products or illnesses that are related to this plant. They also need to be able to edit the info on the page.
Making database relations is a pain in the ass with CakePHP. I don't want to waste any more time so I'm thinking maybe making it as a wordpress plugin is the way to go. How would you go about this? Is there an easier way than wordpress, like a better CMS, or framework? If I use wordpress, should I do all the DB interactions with AJAX to avoid having to interact with the DB through wordpress (this gave me massive trouble in the past since I had my data in an external db)?
i have two tables, employee details table(empno, emp_name , branch) and attendance table(date, Ot, attendence). I want to create a relation between two tables My question is basically this: If I'm building a submission form - which places info into my DB via a mySQL query (INSERT INTO) - is there also a way to reference the id that it is creating? The form is set to just dump raw data into a database - each submission enters data into at least 8 DB tables which are all tied together by an $id row in each table. My query references those $id rows in each table to build a query. After each query is completed, a unique url (which is stated by the submitter in the form of /example/someotherword/) is generated. I need to find a way to place some sort of script within a page that displays the results based on each $id. So, lets say that the url is clicked, it would take you to a page that displays the results - but only does so based on the reference to that urls unique $id within the table. I'll provide code once I get home, but if you guys have any ideas that would be great. Can anyone post a generic update function to update mysql table. The manual approach: update $tablename set $column1='a', $column2='b' where $id=$value; Hi i have this simple update form and scrip but somehow it doesnt seem to be update the field on the database can someone help out please. Output
Server Time 21-05-21 09:55:39
Expected Output
Server Time 21-05-21 10:55:39
Any help would be appreciated. Edited May 21 by Ponel Basically I have recently been playing around with parsing a csv file. What I am looking to do at this point is simply take the date/timestamp (part of the csv file), which is in the following format:DD/MM HH:MM:SS.100th/s For the sake of argument, lets say I have this in an array string called $csv[0] and the file has several lines that span the course of a couple hours. I wouldn't mind having to use explode() to breakup/remove the date or 100th/s IF that would make things a lot simpler. So where would I start in trying to achieve this?. The result I am looking for will simply return "X Seconds". Storing this in a string variable would be a bonus, as I plan to use this to divide a separate piece of information. Any examples or ideas would be great. Thank you. ps: Here is an example time from the csv file itself: Code: [Select] 11/19 22:23:18.143 I am trying to simulate an ad expiration and carry out an action if the ad is expired. And I cannot get the if/else to work properly... I've tried many variations and I cannot see what I am doing wrong here. Any tips please 3 hours and counting of no solution! $ad_start = time()-14 . "<br />"; // 14 days from today in the past (negative) echo $ad_start; $current_time = time() . "<br />"; // current epoch time echo $current_time; $days_past = $ad_start - $current_time; // days past echo "<br />$days_past days have past since the ad started!<br />"; if($days_past <= 14) { echo "<br />Ad is less than 14 days. Not expired."; } else { echo "<br />Ad is over 14 days. Expired."; } Good morning. I am looking fo some help with an update script to update all rows in a table. This is what I have for a form and all looks well. form.php <?php // run the query and put the results in an array variable called $result $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY 'id', 'title', 'text', 'number'"); print "<form method='post' action='update.php'> <table width='100%' border='0' cellspacing='1' cellpadding='1'><tr> <td align='center'><strong>ID</strong></td> <td align='center'><strong>Title</strong></td> <td align='center'><strong>text</strong></td> <td align='center'><strong>Number</strong></td> </tr>\n"; // start a loop to print all of the courses with their book information // the mysql_fetch_array function puts each record into an array. each time it is called, it moves the array counter up until there are no more records left while ($Update = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { // start displaying the info; the most important part is to make the name an array (notice bookinfo[$i]) print "<td align='center'><p>{$Update['id']}</p></td>\n"; print "<td align='center'><input type='text' name='title' value='{$Update['title']}' /></td>"; print "<td align='center'><input type='text' size='40' name='text' value='{$Update['text']}' /></td>\n"; print "<td align='center'><input type='text' size='40' name='number' value='{$Update['number']}' /></td>\n"; print "</tr>\n"; // add 1 to the count, close the loop, close the form, and the mysql connection } print "<tr> <td colspan='4' align='center'><input type='submit' value='submit' />"; print "</td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </form> </table>"; print "</tr>\n"; ?><br /><br /> My question is. How do I update this info into the database with the proper info. ie. Update.php? As the title says I need help with multiple update system.. Can't really get it to work at all >.< Here's some code: $selectt = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM exercises WHERE user='" . $_SESSION["user"] . "' AND exname='" . $_GET["edit"] . "'"); echo '<form method="POST" action="exercises.php?edited">'; echo '<div id="newexx">'; while($raw = mysql_fetch_array($selectt)) { echo '<input type="text" name="up[' . $raw["id"] . ']" value="' . $raw["swe"] . '">'; echo '<input type="text" name="up1[' . $raw["id"] . ']" value="' . $raw["eng"] . '"><br>'; echo '<input type="hidden" name="id[' . $raw["id"] . ']">'; } echo '</div>'; echo '<input type="submit" value="Update Exercise">'; echo '</form>'; if(isset($_GET["edited"])) { $swe = $_POST["up"]; $eng = $_POST["up1"]; $id = $_POST["id"]; foreach($id as $value => $index) { $update = "UPDATE exercises SET swe='".$swe."', eng='".$eng."' WHERE id='".$index."'"; mysql_query($update); } Would be thankful for reply! |
