Hello, my name Rustam, do the work - PHP MySQL JS jQuery and Yii framework.
Quickly. I am having a problem making this work. It adds and deletes but it does it by passing the date directly to the PHP files and refreshing the screen. I want it to do it through the jquery Ajax script. This should work according to what I have read but no mater what I try the jquery script does not work.

Code: Hello, I am building an online game(users make a character and move on a map and so on...)
All user data is stored in a mySQL database and I want the users to interact in real-time, but there can be a 1-3 second delay between the communication, but not exceed 3 seconds even if 500 players are playing at the same time.
But for the purpose of the question let's say the users can only chat between one another, if I'll have a solution for that then I can use the same method for more parts of the game.
I can't use websockets because my webhost doesn't support it( I don't want to use pusher.com).
I know I can make real-time apps with ajax long polling, but I think that with 500 players playing at the same time it's not the best solution.
So, finally:
How can I make user interaction as close as possible to a real-time game?
(Without too much load on the hosting server)
(I am sorry if some of my terms are not correct - I am just getting back to coding after a long time...)
Edited by Mythion, 17 August 2014 - 02:34 AM. Hereby, i need assistance from your side. That here the images are not getting sliding.Moreover the uploaded images are getting stored in database and unable to fetch from the "images folder"
We have created 2 folders image folder for cover page image and second one is images folder for inside images i.e slider images. Moreover,cover page is fetching from image folder and getting displayed but slider images are not fetching from the images folder. meanwhile uploaded images are getting stored in database as well..
Can you guys please me. create table mimi (mimiId int(11) not null, mimiBody varchar(255) ); <?php //connecting to database include_once ('conn.php'); $sql ="SELECT mimiId, mimiBody FROM mimi"; $result = mysqli_query($conn, $sql ); $mimi = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result); $mimiId ='<span>No: '.$mimi['mimiId'].'</span>'; $mimiBody ='<p class="leading text-justify">'.$mimi['mimiBody'].'</p>'; ?> //what is next? i want to download pdf or text document after clicking button or link how to do that Hello everyone, Sorry if this has been answered but if it has I can't find it anywhere. So, from the begining then. Lets say I had a member table and in it I wanted to store what their top 3 interests are. Their$ row has all the usual things to identify them userID and password etc.. and I had a further 3 columns which were labled top3_1 top3_2 & top3_3 to put each of their interests in from a post form. If instead I wanted to store this data as a PHP Array instead (using 1 column instead of 3) is there a way to store it as readable data when you open the PHPmyadmin? At the moment all it says is array and when I call it back to the browser (say on a page where they could review and update their interests) it displays 'a' as top3_01 'r' as top3_02 and 'r' as top3_03 (in each putting what would be 'array' as it appears in the table if there were 5 results. Does anyone know what I mean? For example - If we had a form which collected the top 3 interests to put in a table called users, Code: [Select] <form action="back_to_same_page_for_processing.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input name="top3_01" type="text" value="enter interest number 1 here" /> <input name="top3_02" type="text" value="enter interest number 2 here" /> <input name="top3_03" type="text" value="enter interest number 3 here" /> <input type="submit" name="update_button" value=" Save and Update! " /> </form> // If my quick code example for this form is not correct dont worry its not the point im getting at :) And they put 'bowling' in top3_01, 'running' in top3_02 and 'diving' in top3_03 and we catch that on the same page with some PHP at the top --> Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST)['update_button']) { $top3_01 = $_POST['top3_01']; // i.e, 'bowling' changing POST vars to local vars $top3_02 = $_POST['top3_02']; // i.e, 'running' $top3_03 = $_POST['top3_03']; // i.e, 'diving' With me so far? If I had a table which had 3 columns (1 for each interest) I could put something like - Code: [Select] include('connect_msql.php'); mysql_query("Select * FROM users WHERE id='$id' AND blah blah blah"); mysql_query("UPDATE users SET top3_01='$top3_01', top3_02='$top3_02', top3_03='$top3_03' WHERE id='$id'"); And hopefully if ive got it right, it will put them each in their own little column. Easy enough huh? But heres the thing, I want to put all these into an array to be stored in the 1 column (say called 'top3') and whats more have them clearly readable in PHPmyadmin and editable from there yet still be able to be called back an rendered on page when requested. Continuing the example then, assuming ive changed the table for the 'top3' column instead of individual colums, I could put something like this - Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST)['update_button']) { $top3_01 = $_POST['top3_01']; // i.e, 'bowling' changing POST vars to local vars $top3_02 = $_POST['top3_02']; // i.e, 'running' $top3_03 = $_POST['top3_03']; // i.e, 'diving' $top3_array = array($top3_01,$top3_02,$top3_03); include('connect_msql.php'); mysql_query("UPDATE members SET top3='$top3_array' WHERE id='$id' AND blah blah blah"); But it will appear in the column as 'Array' and when its called for using a query it will render the literal string. a r r in each field instead. Now I know you can use the 'serialize()' & 'unserialize()' funtcions but it makes the entry in the database practically unreadable. Is there a way to make it readable and editable without having to create a content management system? If so please let me know and I'll be your friend forever, lol, ok maybe not but I'd really appreciate the help anyways. The other thing is, If you can do this or something like it, how am I to add entries to that array to go back into the data base? I hope ive explained myself enough here, but if not say so and I'll have another go. Thanks very much people, L-PLate (P.s if I sort this out on my own ill post it all here) Hey, I have a foreach loop displaying some data from my table, what i need to do is run a Jquery each function on the repeated element so it fadesIn each element one at a time. I am guessing i need to set somesort of interval for this to work. I have been messing with it for a good hour or so now and i cant seem to get it working. Has anyone done this before or seen it done else were? Alright guys, I have a bit of a problem here. I am deleting records using isset($_POST) on the current page but when it submits the records i deleted are still visible. I was thinking of echoing some jquery/ajax to re-load the div that displays the records. Has anyone ever done this before? I dont want the entire page to re-load just that specific area. Hi I am in the process of teaching myself web development, coming from a vb and mssql background. I am building a small page that will display my film library, I just want something quick and simple that gets things working. I have three img tags on my page that display the film posters. The current film and the one previous and next. What I would like is a left and a right arrow that just scroll through the library. I am thinking I need to read the sub folder of D:\movies and story the full path name into an array, and then when the user presses a arrow it moves forward or back. Everything is local and I am unsure about how to handle the event of the left/arrow being pressed. Does PHP handle that kind of event or would Jquery be more suitable or something else completely?? thanks for any pointers. Hi All (Again) I am looking to pick up variables in jquery from a string created: function search_by() { var search_term = $('#search_for', $(this).attr('value')); alert(search_term); } I cant seem to get the value i am trying to into a "var". This is the code on the page i am using a onClick="search_by();" i.e: <a class="show_cats" search_cat="PDAs & Accessories" search_for="fire" onclick="search_by();" href="#"> I am trying to get the value inside the "search_for" field. Any ideas???? Im wondering if i should use jQuery or Php. and how about i would go about doing this. Code: [Select] <?php print "<table border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100\"cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"border-collapse:collapse\"bordercolor=\"grey\" bgcolor=\"white\" valign=\"top\"> <td align=\"left\" width=\"100%\" onclick=\"I3.location.href='getuserdetail.php?prop=$ownerid'\"><b>Property Name</b></td><td><b>Tenant</b></td><td><b>Property Status</b></td><td>Rent Amount</td>"; $connect = mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); mysql_select_db("magic"); $query = "SELECT * FROM props WHERE ownerid = '$ownerid' ORDER BY name ASC "; $result = mysql_query($query); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $propertyid = $row['propid']; $propertyname = $row['name']; $propertydesc = $row['description']; $propertycity = $row['city']; $propertystate = $row['state']; $propertyzip = $row['zip']; $active = $row['active']; $lease = $row['lease']; $leaseamt = $row['leaseamt']; if($active == "1"){ $propertystatus = "Active"; } else { $propertystatys = "Unknown"; } print"<tr onMouseOver=\"this.bgColor = '#CEE3F6'\" onMouseOut =\"this.bgColor = '#FFFFFF'\"> <td align=\"left\" width=\"25%\" onclick=\"window.open('viewpropdetail.php?prop=$propertyid','mywindow','width=1200,height=600,scrollbars=1')\">$propertyname</td><td>$ownerfirstname $ownerlastname</td><td>$propertystatus</td><td>$$leaseamt</td> "; } print"</td></table>"; ?> Basically i have a link under that is add property. it pops up a box. with a form you fill it out, and it inserts the record into database. What I'm trying to do. is get it to "Refresh" the property list ( ex. code above). so it shows the new property in the table. i have never used jQuery. but was wondering if i could do that with php. Is there a way to say if records are changed.. update? I keep saying I'm going to have to learn javascript and then the library jQuery but find myself learning Swift now instead.
Short one today. I want these two functions to occur back to back. Second function only begins after the first function is complete.
$(function() { $('.tlt').textillate(); }) $(function() { $('.tlt1').textillate(); })If you can please help me with this not only in just code to make that happen but also an explanation of what you did I sure would appreciate it. I've read all morning on promises etc. but have yet to be successful in implementing this. As you can tell I'm using the plug-in textillate to fade text out one letter at a time. Works great! But I have multiple paragraphs I'm wanting to apply this too so I can't make the div class .tlt since I then lose all paragraphs since it's strips it into spans. That would be ideal of course but I think I forced into making different classes for each paragraph. This will become problematic in the future though since the content is generated dynamically and I will have no idea how many paragraphs that dynamic content will contain. So if there was a way to keep my <p> and </p> that would be even better. Thanks! how come this doesnt echo out on my page? supposed to be an ajax response: Trying to write a form tag to the #quantity div. script does get executed as it echoes test echo ' test'; echo '<script type="text/javascript">'; echo '$("#quantity").append(function(index, html) { '; echo 'return'; echo '<form name="f1" id="f1"><input name="f1" id="f_1" type="hidden" value="1235" /></form>'; echo ' });'; echo '</script>'; i have two scripts i am using in one file. one is for an image slider and the other is a drop-down menu. both jquery driven. one seems to break the other. if i remove the first line of code from one script (
jQuery.noConflict()), it seems to fix the problem and both scripts work. can someone explain to me what is going on? :/ fyi, i tried renaming variables for one script, hoping their was a naming conflict but that didnt work for me either. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1" /> <!-- Apple mobiles --> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta name="keywords" content = "<?php echo $keywords; ?>" /> <meta name="description" content="<?php echo $description; ?>" /> <title><?php echo $page_title; ?></title> <link rel="icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bmw_styles.css" /> <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Raleway' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/flexdropdown.css" /> <!-- homepage slider --> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="slider/css/default.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="slider/css/component.css" /> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <!--<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"></script>--> <script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/global.js"></script> <!-- navigation --> <script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/flexdropdown.js"></script> <!-- homepage slider --> <script src="slider/js/modernizr.custom.js"></script> <script src="slider/js/jquery.cbpFWSlider.js"></script> <!-- initialize jquery when the DOM is ready --> <script type="text/javascript"> $( function() { $( '#cbp-fwslider' ).cbpFWSlider(); $( '#cbp-fwslider' ).cbpFWSlider('interval'); } ); </script> </head> This topic has been moved to Ajax Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=316223.0 This topic has been moved to JavaScript Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=333604.0 |
