I have a table with x ammount of rows and x ammount of columns, in each TD there is an input box which the user fills in, when they press save the information is input into the database in this form at 6,1,2,3,4,5,6,A,1,2,3,4,5,6,B,1,2,3,4,5,6 - the first number is the number of columns, 1- 6 is the top line of TDs (column headers) and then A 1-6 is row 1, B 1-6 is row 2 etc.. so i then out put the information into a table via a for loop : Code: [Select] while($row = mysql_fetch_array($r)) { $data = explode(',',$row["content_bottom"]); $datacount = count($data); echo"<table border='1'><tr><td>Tool Type</td>"; $k = 1; for ($i = 1; $i <= $datacount; $i++) { if($data[$i] !=""){ echo "<td>".$data[$i]."</td>"; if($k == $data[0]-1) { echo"</tr><tr>"; $k = -1; } $k++; } } echo"</table>"; I can see how i would delete a row of information, eg delete B 1-6, but any ideas how I could delete a column? or is there a better way of storing this information? Now I can generate the data, but I'm having trouble putting the array into a table. If someone could point me in the right direction??? Hi! I am trying to use the View Model Design Pattern in my application The problem is that it is the first time I use it and I am a beginner. So, I have the logic in the Model and the "front end" in View. I am talking about a sign up page. In the current Html file I am trying to access an error array from the model file and display it to the user above the input field.
Here is the a snippet from the Model (Signup.php) $account = new Account($con); //the account which takes as param the db connection $error = null; //the array // anything the user writes gets inside this array if (isset($_POST["submitButton"])) { $firstName = UnifyFormInput::unifyUserFLName($_POST["firstName"]); $lastName = UnifyFormInput::unifyUserFLName($_POST["lastName"]); $username = UnifyFormInput::unifyFormUserName($_POST["username"]); $email = UnifyFormInput::unifyFormEmail($_POST["email"]); $password = UnifyFormInput::unifyFormPassword($_POST["password"]); //contain true or false based on the query being successful or not $success = $account->register($firstName, $lastName, $username, $email, $password); if ($success) { $_SESSION["userLoggedIn"] = $username; header("Location:index.php"); }else{ $error = $account->getError(Constants::$registerFailed); } } //compact — creates array containing variables and their values //call render function from View file to show the register page content View::render('register', compact('error')); And here is the view: <?php if (!empty($error)) { echo $account->getError(Constants::$loginFailed); } ?> <input type="text" class="form-control" name="firstName" placeholder= "First Name" value="<?php getInputValue("firstName"); ?>" required>
Hi all, I'm trying to set up a situation where a function loops through a multidimensional array and echos an html block for each item in the $skus['skunum'] array and also increments $i each time . ( Each is a product on the site) The catch is that I'm trying to have a function within that one that goes through the $skus['sizes'] and echoes an option if the substring (shirt size) exists. The idea being that I can manage products by adding 4 elements, Skunum, name, price and size. And well, I'm failing miserably. At this point it won't even work because of the variable scope, I'm getting Notice: Undefined variable: skus from the functions, but am not sure of the right way to get that information. Am I going about doing this entirely wrong or am I on the right track? Posting my "progress" will clog up the thread, so for now i wont post it. Does anyone have an idea how i would achieve this? Regards, -Ben Hello, freaks. I need a little help with the best way to go about this. I have a field in mysql that contains a comma separated string of values. What I need to do is get those values out of the db and list them into editable text fields so the user can update the values in a html form. So far this is my code, I left out all the in betweens - validation, results, etc - for this post...but its there . SELECT servs FROM services WHERE id = $a_id $services = $row['servs']; $srvs = explode(',', $services); Then for the form: <?php foreach ($srvs as $service) { ?> <input type="text" name="servs[]" value="<?php echo $service ?>" /> <?php } ?> This gives me a text field for each value of servs, great! But the problem is, the user can enter up to 15 servs. Some currently have less than that saved in the db. I want to give them the ability to 1. edit any of the current servs value and 2. add more values if they have less than 15. My question is, how do I echo out 15 editable text fields for servs[] no matter the number of values they currently have? And when I go to implode the values, will blank text fields screw everything up? I can't find anything in the forums that relate to this. I believe it probably will involve $i, but I am not too familiar with counting in php yet, so I could really use some help. Thanks! Oh - and I am not stuck on using text fields, but I couldn't figure how to make this work using a select list or checkboxes. Any suggestions either way would help.
