PHP - Fopen Returns True But There Is No File There???
So in my last thread I was working on checking if a file was there...I resorted to something not in the library and used
$pic_exists_jpg = fopen($jpg_path,'r'); $pic_exists_jpeg = fopen($jpeg_path,'r'); $pic_exists_gif = fopen($gif_path,'r'); $pic_exists_png = fopen($png_path,'r'); if ($pic_exists_jpg != '0') { $jpg_test = '1'; } elseif ($pic_exists_jpg == '1') { $jpg_test = '2'; } elseif ($pic_exists_jpg == '0') { $jpg_test = '2'; } elseif ($pic_exists_jpeg != '0') { $jpeg_test = '1'; } elseif ($pic_exists_gif != '0') { $gif_test = '1'; } elseif ($pic_exists_png != '0') { $png_test = '1'; } now for some reason php is being a poo and no matter what returning that there is a file there. no matter what method i use be it fopen or file_exists or anything else, it saying I have a file in that directory BUT I DO NOT! THERE IS NOT ONE OF THOSE FILES. I know I have my paths right because If I echo them directly I get the picture...what the heck?! Similar Tutorials<?php if('00' == '000') echo 'weired'; ?> Please consider the code above. Strangely it echoes the word "weired". Also if('00' == '000000000000000') returns true and so forth. What is really going on? Thanks in advance By the way the php version is 5.3.9 on wampserver 2.2 hi, I want to write pdf file but it is getting garbage value i check following url http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=21904&edit=1 Code: [Select] $fp = fopen($fdirandname,'wb'); fwrite($fp,$pdfcode); fclose($fp); soo i get info from a form and i want to search for it in my db .. if i find user_name AND user_password the $result returns true .. otherwise false .. <?php require_once("../includes/connection.php"); ?> <?php $user_name=$_POST["user_name"]; $user_password=$_POST["user_password"]; ?> <?php $query = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE '{$user_name}' = user_name AND '{$user_password}'= user_password "; $result = mysql_query($query,$connection); if($result==false){ redirect("../index.php");} elseif($result==true){ redirect("../welcome.php"); } ?> <?php //close connection! mysql_close($connection); ?> but the problem is that it always returns TRUE !!!! whats the problem here exactly ??? I have a script that I am trying to transfer one file from a remote server to my local server and save it. The files can be quite large. I have successfully backed up around 200 MB... But, anything over that seems to fail with a strange error... I was hoping for a little guidance... here is my code and error/warning that I get: PHP Code: function remote_capture($tmp_url, $filename) { $r_handle = fopen($tmp_url, "rb"); $d_handle = fopen($filename, 'w'); if($r_handle&&$d_handle) { while(($buffer = fgets($r_handle)) !== false) { fputs($d_handle, $buffer); } fclose($r_handle); fclose($d_handle); return true; } else { return false; } } Warning Message: Warning: file_get_contents(URL_OF_MY_SCRIPT_HAS_BEEN_REMOTED) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! in /path/on/my/local/server/to/script on line 298 if (!file_exists('../images/flags/imNum.txt')) { $file1 = fopen('../images/flags/imNum.txt','c'); fclose($file1); } why won't that work =\ it makes no sense to me Hey guys, I have a script that is run once a week to fetch some user info for a large number of accounts. The code I have now writes the info correctly, but I was wondering if there was an easy way to have the accountdata.txt file completely wiped before new updated info is written to it, as opposed to deleting it manually every week. $FileName = "accountdata.txt"; $f=fopen($FileName,"a+"); fwrite($f, $UserKey[$i]." ".$SigKey[$i]."\n"); $f=fclose; I could in theory just open the file and delete everything in it manually, save it and then run this script, but I'm always looking for more ways to make things efficient, and come a time when it's run more than once a week it'd be nice to have all that automated. So in summary, I need it to delete all data (if any) from the accountdata.txt file before it writes anything to it. Thanks. Can't figure out why the page wont save after clicking save. $KOHDE="index.php?s=admin"; $LOMAKE_W = 400; $TEXTAREA_W = 50; $TEXTAREA_H = 20; $LOMAKE = mysql_real_escape_string($_GET["l"]); $LOMAKE2 = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST["lomake"]); after a few more lines... elseif ($LOMAKE2 == "etusivu"){ #Etusivun muokkaus $teksti = stripslashes($_POST["teksti"]); $f = fopen("etusivu.php", "w"); fwrite($f, $teksti); fclose($f); } elseif ($LOMAKE == "etusivu"){ #Etusivun muokkaus echo "<h1>Edit home page</h1>"; $f = file("etusivu.php"); echo "<form action='$KOHDE' method='post'> <textarea name='teksti' cols='$TEXTAREA_W' rows='$TEXTAREA_H'>"; for ($i = 0; $i < count($f); $i++){ $f[$i] = str_replace("\"", "''", $f[$i]); echo $f[$i]; } echo "</textarea> <input type='hidden' value='etusivu' name='lomake'/> <br><input type='submit' value='Save'/> </form><br/>"; html_ohje(); } I can't see where it has gone wrong. Can anyone help? Hey, I'm trying to open a .php file and read a comment block that is in the beginning of the file. I'm having some trouble in that nothing is being echoed out. Here is the reading file: <?php $fb = fopen("tepl.php", "r"); $data = fread($fb, 8192); fclose($fb); var_dump($data); ?> here is the file (tepl.php) being read: <?php /* Name: Test Plugin 1 URI: http://www.theorangeday.com/plugintest/ Description: This is just a test plugin because I need to test how this thing is going to work overall. Author: Thomas Francis Author URI: http://www.theorangeday.com/ Version: 0.1 */ function test_plugin(){ echo "we loaded the test plug"; } ?> the var_dump returns Code: [Select] string(321) " " What's wrong here? Hello, I'm working on a script which should read lines from a file keyword.txt create a new file with that variable name, insert the content close and loop through all the lines in the keyword file. The loop itself works but now that i'm adding the fopen fwrite and fclose i'm running into trouble. I'm not that great a coder and have pieced this together so far. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to fix the fopen and other file functions to create unique files using the keywords from the file Thanks in advance <?php $read_file = file('keywords.txt'); foreach($read_file as $var) { $file = fopen($var, "x"); $content = "<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd\"> <html xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml\"> <head> <meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\" /> <title>This is the title</title> </head> <body> <h2>The keyword is $var</h2> <p><p> </body> </html>"; fwrite($file, $content); fclose($file); } ?> I have a php script on a server writing to an html file on a remote server. I'm using the following combination of fopen and fputs. The problem is that once out of maybe every 10 or 15 writes to the file, the file that is written is blank with nothing in it. Has anyone here had experience with this before? The file is fixed the next time it writes to it. this code is within a loop that runs every 10 seconds. Code: [Select] // Allows overwriting of existing files on the remote FTP server $stream_options = array('ftp' => array('overwrite' => true)); // Creates a stream context resource with the defined options $stream_context = stream_context_create($stream_options); // Opens the file for writing and truncates it to zero length if ($fh = fopen($ftp_path, 'w',0, $stream_context)) { if ( $change > 0 ) fputs($fh, "the contents of the html file is here"); //the case if change is positive else fputs($fh, "the contents of the html file is here"); //the case if change is negative // Closes the file handle fclose($fh); } else { die('Could not open file.'); } *delurk! It had to happen sooner or later!* OK, I am totally and utterly stumped. I have this script: $this->clear_cache ($this->cache_dir, $this->cache_time); if ($this->cache_time > 0) { $current_page = $_SERVER ['REQUEST_URI']; $current_page_encoded = base64_encode($current_page); $current_page_path = $this->cache_dir . $current_page_encoded; if (file_exists($current_page_path)) { // see if there is still a file with the name of the current request URI after cache cleared $content = file_get_contents ($current_page_path); return $content; } } Basically, it is for checking if there is a cached version of the page before running the rest of the script, using the REQUEST_URI as the identifier. So it calls a function to clear the cache, which works fine (and I've tried just deleting the cache files manually anyway). Then it checks if we are even caching, i.e. if cache time is greater than 0. Then it uses the BASE64-encoded REQUEST_URI (under which name the file would have been cached previously) to check if a file with that name still exists in the cache dir, and if so loads it. Now, this works perfectly with a url like: mysite/myscript/mysubpage But when the page has parameters, like: mysite/myscript/mysubpage?search=widgets the file_exists function returns TRUE, even though the directory is empty. I did do a clearstatcache(); but it made no difference and anyway, it wouldn't explain why the URI with query string would fail while the regular one would not. And even if something is wrong with my code elsewhere, the fact is it is returning TRUE for a non-existent file. Can someone prevent my slide into insanity?! I'm working on a WordPress theme and I'm trying to build in a simple if statement which will check if the user has add his own logo into the images folder if he doesn't then the name of the blog will appear as normal text in place of the graphic logo. This is how it looks like: <?php $logo_dir = get_template_directory_uri() . "/images/logo.png"; if (file_exists($logo_dir)) { ?> <li><img src="<?php bloginfo ('template_directory'); ?>/images/logo.png" alt="<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>" /></li> <?php } else { ?> <li id='blog_name'><a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?><font>*</font></a></li> <?php } ?> I've echo'd out $logo_dir, the URL is correct, but still for some reason it's seeing it as if there would no file exist. If I turn it around into !file_exists then the graphic logo WILL show up. So it's always seeing it as non-existent. Any ideas why this could be or am I using this function in a wrong fashion? As far as I've understood the PHP manual, this is the correct way of using it. Hi everyone!
I've been working on a php script to replace links that contain a query with direct links to the files they would redirect to. In this case I have to rewrite the xml with this script. Situation is not optimal, I'm running the chunk script because we're stuck with the execution time limit too. Export filter: This loops over a xml file and splits it into chunks <?php //ini_set('max_execution_time', 10); // ---- includes if ( ! defined('ABSPATH') ) { require_once( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/wp-load.php' ); } // ---- end includes // console function vwaconsole($input) { $disabled = false; if ($disabled === false) { $a = print_r($input.'</br>'); $a = $input; echo "<script>console.log( '--log--: " . $a . "' );</script>"; } } //end console // settings // $chunk_size = 20; // $home = constant( 'ABSPATH' ); $xml_path = $home."/wp-content/uploads/wpallimport/files/Bastiaansen.xml"; if (fopen($xml_path,"r") != true) { vwaconsole("xml file does not exist"); exit(); } $xml = new DOMDocument(); $xml->formatOutput = true; $xml->preserveWhiteSpace = false; $xml->load($xml_path); // Main program // creates another file to be filled by sub scripts if (!empty($xml)) { vwaconsole("Running main program"); // backup xml first $date = "_".date("Y M D h i"); $date = str_replace(' ', '_', $date); $xpath = new DOMXpath($xml); $items = $xpath->query("//aanbiedingen//item"); $loopcount = 0; $processedamount = 0; $islast = 0; vwaconsole('total items: '.$items->length); vwaconsole('chunk size: '.$chunk_size); echo'<br>'; /* chunks processing: */ $chunkxml = new DOMDocument(); $chunkxml->formatOutput = true; $chunkxml->preserveWhiteSpace = false; $counter = 0; $chunkroot = null; foreach($items as $item) { //vwaconsole('processing item'); if ($chunkroot === null) { $chunkroot = $chunkxml->createElement('root'); $chunkxml->appendChild($chunkroot); //vwaconsole('created root'); } if (($processedamount + $chunk_size) > $items->length) { //vwaconsole("last chunk in progress..."); $islast = 1; } $chunkitem = $chunkxml->createElement($item->nodeName); $chunkroot->appendChild($chunkitem); //vwaconsole('appended child item to root'); foreach($item->childNodes as $spec) { //vwaconsole('processing specs in item'); $chunkspec = $chunkxml->createElement($spec->nodeName); $chunkitem->appendChild($chunkspec); $chunkspectext = $chunkxml->createTextNode($spec->nodeValue); $chunkspec->appendChild($chunkspectext); } $counter++; $processedamount++; if ($counter >= $chunk_size) { $chunkxml->save("wp-content/uploads/wpallimport/files/chunks_bast/bast_chunk_".$loopcount.".xml"); vwaconsole("saved array chunk"); $output = `php export_filter_chunk_processor.php $loopcount $islast `; vwaconsole($output); vwaconsole("creating new array chunk"); $chunkxml = new DOMDocument(); $chunkxml->formatOutput = true; $chunkxml->preserveWhiteSpace = false; $loopcount++; $counter = 0; $chunkroot = null; } if ($items->length === $processedamount) { $chunkxml->save("wp-content/uploads/wpallimport/files/chunks_bast/bast_chunk_".$loopcount.".xml"); vwaconsole("finished saving last chunk"); } } // merge documents later.. /* $newxml = new DOMDocument("1.0", "utf-8"); $newxml->formatOutput = true; $newxml->preserveWhiteSpace = false; $itemContainer = $newxml->createElement('aanbiedingen'); $newxml->appendChild($itemContainer); //$newxml->save("wp-content/uploads/wpallimport/files/TEMP_Bastiaansen.xml"); */ vwaconsole("main ending"); exit(); } else { //vwaconsole("xml is empty ?! exiting"); exit(); } ?>
Export chunk processor: The xml was split by the previous script. This one takes one of the chunks and calls get_headers() , sending a link containing a query multiple of this script run at same time. The queries are then picked up by the last php file. <?php //ini_set('max_execution_time', 10); // console function vwaconsole($input) { $disabled = false; if ($disabled === false) { $a = print_r($input.'</br>'); $a = $input; echo "<script>console.log( '--log--: " . $a . When the chunk processor calls a query link with get_headers(), the query will be noticed by the next script, the query converter: <?php if ( ! defined('ABSPATH') ) { require_once( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/wp-load.php' ); } // ---- vars $machineID = $_GET['bast_get_machine_id']; $itemlink = $_GET['bast_get_itemlink']; $itemfoto_id = $_GET['bast_get_itemfoto_id']; if (!empty($itemlink)) { $request = 'bast_get_itemlink'; $value = $itemlink; } elseif (!empty($itemfoto_id)) { $request = 'bast_get_itemfoto_id'; $value = $itemfoto_id; } // ---- end vars if (empty($machineID)) { echo 'please enter query ?bast_get_machine_id=(number) first'; exit(); } if (empty($request) || empty($value)) { echo 'Valid query request would be: bast_get_itemlink <br>'; echo 'Valid query request would be: bast_get_itemfoto_id <br>'; exit(); } // register custom query options function sm_register_query_vars( $vars ) { // get the right custom field names $vars[] = $request; $vars[] = 'pa_'.$request; return $vars; } add_filter( 'query_vars', 'sm_register_query_vars' ); //returns null or string url function fetch($machineID,$request,$value) { $return = null; $args = array( 'orderby' => 'meta_value_num', 'meta_key' => 'bast_get_machine_id', 'meta_type' => 'NUMERIC', 'post_type' => 'product', 'posts_per_page' => -1, 'order' => 'ASC', 'meta_query' => array( array( 'key' => 'bast_get_machine_id', 'type' => 'NUMERIC', 'value' => $machineID, 'compare' => 'EXISTS', ) ) ); $wp_query = new WP_Query($args); if ( $wp_query->have_posts() ) { while ( $wp_query->have_posts() ) { $wp_query->the_post(); apply_filters( 'the_content', 'filter_post_content' ); echo 'found product " '.get_the_title().' I run a dev site locally on Windows and the real site on a hosting provider on LINUX. PHP5, XAMP, etc. Locally my fopen works. On the web server it throws an error: "Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: Unable to access" filepath/name The file exists on both servers; upper/lower case is correct; so are access rights. I noticed the error only today; this was working for the last 7 months; the function serves a range of content-types; just tested XLS and it works. Now I am stuck This line throws the error: $handle = fopen($strPathFileName, 'rb'); $strPathFileName uses / only Any pointers appreciated... thanks. If it's not set to required, print out a system error and die()'s. I'm looking for ways to remove the need for program errors and just change them to what is needed to run. What i know how to do is, get into the inner array, what i don't know is how to edit the data and put it back exactly as it was given to me. The inner array data can be put back in any order, but the outer array must be in exact order as it was given. above code $this->info = $formdata; $formdata = array( 'name' => array('name'=>"Full Name", 'required'=>false, 'type'=>'text'), # This needs to be required=>true, but i can't trust the user, which is why i have the error. 'telephone' => array('name'=>"Telephone", 'required'=>false, 'type'=>'phone'), ); Any help is greatly appreciated, also am i doing the foreach loop in the code above in an efficient manner or is there another way? I'm having trouble connecting through fopen using variables as the login details, but with file_get_content it works fine?! These are my variables:- $ftpaddy="ftp.mydomain.com"; $username="me"; $password="password"; $editingdir="/public_html/edit/"; $editfile="editme.txt"; $myftppath = "ftp://" . $username . ":" . $password . "@" . $ftpaddy . $editingdir . $editfile; //puts all variables into string When I try to connect and read the file using the following method it works fine:- $file = file_get_contents("$myftppath", "r"); but when i try and use the same string with fopen as below it doesn't work?! the line i have commented out however works and when i echo the $myftppath variable below it looks the same.. i don't really get it! //$myftppath = "ftp://me:password@ftp.mydomain.com/public_html/edit/editme.txt"; $myftppath = "ftp://" . $username . ":" . $password . "@" . $ftpaddy . $editingdir . $editfile; //puts all variables into string $stream_options = array('ftp' => array('overwrite' => true)); $stream_context = stream_context_create($stream_options); if ($fh = fopen($myftppath, 'w', 0, $stream_context)){//fopen only likes the commented out $myftppath not the one using the variables?! fputs($fh, $newcontents); fclose($fh); } else { die('Could not open file.'); } does anyone know if I am doing the syntax wrong and how to correct it? I read I may need to put another slash after domain.com but this didn't help either. any help would be much appreciated! thanks in advance Kev. Hey all i am attempting to connect to a ftp address and display the contents of a file into a textarea and i keep getting errors is there something wrong with the code or the ftp server? <?php $log_file= "ftp://username:password@68.232.164.100/czero/68.232.164.100:27015/czero/gsconsole.log"; $log_handle = fopen($log_file, "r"); $log_contents = fread($log_handle, filesize($log_file)); fclose($log_handle); ?> Console Log: <textarea name="log_view" cols="110" rows="20" readonly="readonly" wrap="virtual"><?php echo "$log_contents" ; ?></textarea> Hey all, my doubt is the following: Is there a way of opening files (images,pdf's,etc) in a popup window? What I intend to do, is have a button, that when pressed, would acess and open certain files in a popup window. I already know how to acess and download the files, but I would like to know how to open them inside the browser. sorry for the bad English. Hope you understood and can help. Thanks alot, Ruben Greetings all, I'm completely stumped...so I'd like to run this issue by you guys (and gals!). I have encountered an odd issue, and I have no idea why this is doing what it's doing. When I execute the following code, all by itself, in an "index.php" file (with no other files around...completely isolated!) I get a result of "testtest" $log_file = 'all.txt'; $handle = fopen($log_file, 'a'); fwrite($handle, 'test'); fclose($handle); Note: I delete the file each time I execute the script (in a browser). I am also the only one running this script. I've tried running on PHP 5.2.x and PHP 5.3.x I have also tried on my machine as well as a separate, remote machine. Is the script running twice? If so, what's causing it? Any help is appreciated as always! Ryan |
