PHP - Hi And Help With Duplicate Link Submission In Php Directory Script
Hello there
Really new by in PHP, I find out your forums and look really professional, so I'm dropping in some questions. Maybe can have some help. I'm setting an old plugin of WP and got some issues. The plugin is really nice and dedicated to create a directory inside a website in WP but regretfully no one take care of that code, so no one to ask for. There are some errors. Example, lets go with the first one. When I (or someone) add a new website in the directory the script does not manage correctly a duplicate submissions. I can submit more times the same url. It is supposed to manage that problem, here is the code that take care of all the errors. Code: [Select] if($title == "" || $url == " " || $url == "http://" || $description == "" || $description == " " || $keyword == "" || $contact_name == "" || $contact_email == "" || !$cat_id) { if($title == "") $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please insert the title of the website!' . " - <br />"; if($url == " " || $url == "http://" ) $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please insert the URL of the website!' . " - <br />"; if(!$cat_id) $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please select a category for the website!' . " - <br />"; if($description == " ") $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please write the description of the website!' . " - <br />"; if($description == "") $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please write the description of the website!' . " - <br />"; if($keyword == "") $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please write the keywords of the website!' . " - <br />"; if($contact_name == "") $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please insert your name!' . " - <br />"; if($contact_email == "") $error_msg .= "- " . 'Please insert your email address!' . " - <br />"; } else { $link_id = $class_link->GetLinkId($cat_id, $url, $title); if ($link_id != "") { $error_msg .= "- " . 'This link currently exist!' . " - <br /> "; } } It is working fine for all the errors but NOT for the last one... is not working, no message ""This link currently exist"" and no error come out after the submission that go in smoothly. So here is the problem.... but can't solve it. Code: [Select] } else { $link_id = $class_link->GetLinkId($cat_id, $url, $title); if ($link_id != "") { $error_msg .= "- " . 'This link currently exist!' . " - <br /> "; } } Any idea? Similar TutorialsHola Everybody !! I'm putting together a web app similar to Digg and was wondering if there is a function or code example I can use to avoid users submitt the same url. For example: Right now the user can submit; 1. http://www.example.com?post01 2. http://example.com?post01 3. www.example.com?post01 I want the web app to check if the link has been submitted by the user first and look for duplicate submission. Any ideas ? Thank you, V. Hi all, This is my very first post here, so I will try and make it count Very recently I have been working with php and I found this simple little script that allows users to upload files. I tweaked some things to only make it upload .doc files but now I have a slight problem. Every time someone uploads a word file with the same name, it gets replaced. I tried looking for other examples here on the forum, but was unable to apply it to my own script. It would be a big help if someone could provide a simple add-on to this existing script. Thanks in advance. Script: <? $locatie="upload/"; $toegestaan = "doc"; $max_size = 1000000; set_time_limit(0); if(isset($_POST['upload'])) { if(is_uploaded_file($_FILES['bestand']['tmp_name'])) { $extensie_bestand = pathinfo($_FILES['bestand']['name']); $extensie_bestand = $extensie_bestand[extension]; $extensies_toegestaan = explode(", ", $toegestaan); for($i = 0; $i < count($extensies_toegestaan); $i++) { if($extensies_toegestaan[$i] == "$extensie_bestand") { $ok = 1; } } if($ok == 1) { if($_FILES['bestand']['size']>$max_size) { echo "Het bestand is te groot, de maximale grootte is: <b>$max_size</b>"; exit; } if(!move_uploaded_file($_FILES['bestand']['tmp_name'], $locatie.$_FILES['bestand']['name'])) { echo "het bestand kan niet worden verplaatst"; exit; } echo "Het bestand ".$_FILES['bestand']['name']." is geupload<br> <a href='".$locatie."".$_FILES['bestand']['name']."' </a>"; } else { echo "Verkeerde extentie, de toegestane extensies zijn: <b>$toegestaan</b>"; } } else { echo "Het uploaden is mislukt, probeer het opnieuw"; } } ?> <title>test tittle</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { margin-top: 0px; } --> </style></head> <body> <table width="1216" height="1191" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" background="back"> <tr> <td height="317" colspan="2"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td height="381"> </td> <td><p> </p> <form method="post" action="<?=$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']?>" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <table width="398" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="180"> </td> <td width="218"><input type="file" name="bestand" /> <input type="submit" name="upload" value="uploaden" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </form></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="420"> </td> <td width="796"> </td> </tr> </table> is this possible? When I click on a link (a directory output file list) inside a php page to try and download that item from a directory in my server, the server responds with '404 - Not Found'. The links will download within the web directory area (www), but not anywhere further up in my server. Should I include something like the following? $ignore = array( 'cgi-bin', '.', '..' ); Other suggestions? :) Here's my code: <?php $count = 0; if ($handle = opendir('xxx')) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) { if ($file != "." && $file != "..") {$count++; print("<a href=\"".$file."\">".$file."</a><br />\n"); } } echo '<br /><br /><a href="..">Return</a>'; closedir($handle); } ?> I am trying to figure out a way to echo the directory name of the script location. Hello. I'm trying to allow a script to be run only in a certain defined directory on a defined host. What I use now is something like this: $host = $_SERVER[ 'HTTP_HOST' ] . $_SERVER[ 'REQUEST_URI' ]; $key = 'site.com/directory'; $works = stristr( $host, $key ); This works quite well. The only problem, while being a huge problem at the same time is this will return 1 even if it's in a directory like site.com/directory/something_else. What would be the best way to avoid this? I was thinking about finding whether a certain file( for example /core/class/class.mysql.php ) is located within the root directory and not further, but I'm not sure how to do this. I don't want to use neither protocol nor www in the $host variable because users can just go to the website without the protocol or www. and that will result in returning 0. If I'm being not clear here, here's an example: The user gets the application and installs it on site.com/directory. His license allows him to install it only to that directory, which is okay. But he decides to install several more copies in directories like site.com/directory/something_else or whatever. I want to avoid this. I am looking for a really simple link directory script. Something similar to http://www.cygnusdirectory.com/ but with a banner on top. Any suggestions / recommendations ?
Good Evening, If anyone could help with this little problem be much appreciated. what i'm trying to do is using a drop down menu select a folder name which is stored in a database table.. then taking that folder name and upload various files to that specified folder. There's probably an easier way to do this but i've searched google argggh.. The first part of code is the php to grab the folder names and the file selection form Code: [Select] <?php include("connection.php"); $sql="SELECT id, name FROM gallery"; $result=mysql_query($sql); $options=""; while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $id=$row["id"]; $thing=$row["name"]; $options.="<OPTION VALUE=\"$id\">".$thing ; } ?> <table width="500" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#CCCCCC"> <tr> <form action="postFiles.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" name="form1" id="form1"> <td> <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <tr> <td><strong>multiple Files Upload </strong></td> </tr> <td><SELECT NAME=thing> <OPTION VALUE=0>Choose <?=$options?> </SELECT> </td> <tr> <td>Select file <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Select file <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Select file <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center"><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Upload" /></td> </tr> </table> </td> </form> </tr> </table> The second part of the code below is the php code to upload those files, the problem being how do i specify the upload destination using the drop down in the previous form (instead of UPLOAD) which it is default set to Code: [Select] <?php //set where you want to store files //in this example we keep file in folder upload //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name']; = upload file name //for example upload file name cartoon.gif . $path will be upload/cartoon.gif $path1= "upload".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][0]; $path2= "upload".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][1]; $path3= "upload".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][2]; //copy file to where you want to store file copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['tmp_name'][0], $path1); copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['tmp_name'][1], $path2); copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['tmp_name'][2], $path3); //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'] = file name //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'] = file size //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'] = type of file echo "File Name :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][0]."<BR/>"; echo "File Size :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][0]."<BR/>"; echo "File Type :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'][0]."<BR/>"; echo "<img src=\"$path1\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\">"; echo "<P>"; echo "File Name :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][1]."<BR/>"; echo "File Size :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][1]."<BR/>"; echo "File Type :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'][1]."<BR/>"; echo "<img src=\"$path2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\">"; echo "<P>"; echo "File Name :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][2]."<BR/>"; echo "File Size :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][2]."<BR/>"; echo "File Type :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'][2]."<BR/>"; echo "<img src=\"$path3\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\">"; /////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Use this code to display the error or success. $filesize1=$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][0]; $filesize2=$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][1]; $filesize3=$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][2]; if($filesize1 && $filesize2 && $filesize3 != 0) { echo "We have recieved your files"; } else { echo "ERROR....."; } ////////////////////////////////////////////// // What files that have a problem? (if found) if($filesize1==0) { echo "There're something error in your first file"; echo "<BR />"; } if($filesize2==0) { echo "There're something error in your second file"; echo "<BR />"; } if($filesize3==0) { echo "There're something error in your third file"; echo "<BR />"; } ?> Thanks in advance for any help if you need to see a live version of these files i can provide a link Hi, I've read a lot of places that it's not recommended to store binary files in my db. So instead I'm supposed to upload the image to a directory, and store the link to that directory in database. First, how would I make a form that uploads the picture to the directory (And what kinda directories are we talking?). Secondly, how would I retrieve that link? And I guess I should rename the picture.. I'd appreciate any help, or a good tutorial (Haven't found any myself). Hi guys, I've been working on a script for a while now, and I'm sure it doesn't look great and all, and it's probably really messed up.. But right now I've finally got it working! There's only 1 thing I'd really like to add.. Searching through & listing of remote directories! The directories I'm trying to list have directory listings enabled, and I think it *should* be possible. I just have no clue how. Here's my current code in a beautiful mix of HTML and PHP: <? $border_size = "0"; function returner($what) { $what=explode("/",$what); $tps=count($what); $what=$what[$tps-1]; return $what; } $page_url= ""; $home_url=returner(__FILE__); if(isset($_GET['q'])) { $qtext=$_GET['q']; } else { $qtext=""; } function getdirsize($directory, $format=FALSE) { $size = 0; if(substr($directory,-1) == '/') { $directory = substr($directory,0,-1); } if(!file_exists($directory) || !is_dir($directory) || !is_readable($directory)) { return -1; } if($handle = opendir($directory)) { while(($file = readdir($handle)) !== false) { $path = $directory.'/'.$file; if($file != '.' && $file != '..') { if(is_file($path)) { $size += filesize($path); } elseif(is_dir($path)) { $handlesize = getdirsize($path); if($handlesize >= 0) { $size += $handlesize; } else { return -1; } } } } closedir($handle); } if($format == TRUE) { if($size / 1048576 > 1) { return round($size / 1048576, 1).' MB'; } elseif($size / 1024 > 1) { return round($size / 1024, 1).' KB'; } else { return round($size, 1).' bytes'; } } else { return $size; } } if(isset($_GET['type'])){ $type=$_GET['type']; } else { $type="new"; } $textures=0; $models=0; $avatars=0; $seqs=0; $sounds=0; foreach (glob("textures/*.jpg") as $texture){ $textures++; } foreach (glob("models/*.zip") as $model){ $models++; } foreach (glob("avatars/*.zip") as $avatar){ $avatars++; } foreach (glob("seqs/*.zip") as $seq){ $seqs++; } foreach (glob("sounds/*.zip") as $sound){ $sounds++; } ?> <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>ObjectPath Search</title> <style type="text/css"> #wrapper { width: 850px; margin: 30px auto 30px auto; padding: 10px; } body { color:#C6C6C6; background:#1E1E1E; /* margin:0; padding:0; */ overflow-x:hidden; } #tabs { font: 85% "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; } .left { float: left; } .right { float: right; } a:link, a:visited, a:active { color: #3DB015; text-decoration: none; } a:hover { color: #00E0FF; } h2 { color: #3DB015; padding-bottom: 0.2em; font-size: 110%; } ul#icon {margin: 0; padding: 0;} ul#icon li {margin: 1px; position: relative; padding: 1px 0; cursor: pointer; float: left; list-style: none;} ul#icon span.ui-icon {float: left; margin: 0 1px;} </style> <link type="text/css" href="http://objects.jk-hosting.com/search/css/black-tie/jquery-ui-1.8.2.custom.css" rel="stylesheet" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://objects.jk-hosting.com/search/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://objects.jk-hosting.com/search/js/jquery-ui-1.8.2.custom.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function formHandler(form){ var URL = document.form.site.options[document.form.site.selectedIndex].value; window.location.href = URL; }; $(function(){ // Tabs $('#tabs').tabs(); }); </script> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="tabs"> <!-- Tabs start --> <ul> <li><a href="#tab-search">Search</a></li> <li><a href="#tab-list">List Objects</a></li> <li><a href="#tab-info">OP info</a></li> </ul> <div id="tab-search"><!-- Searchtab start --> Please enter a string to search for, and choose a folder to search in. <br /><br /> <form name="Search"> <input type='hidden' value='search' name='type'> <input value='<? print $qtext; ?>' type='text' name='q'> <select name='map'> <option selected='selected' value='models'>Models</option> <option value='avatars'>Avatars</option> <option value='textures'>Textures</option> <option value='seqs'>Seqs</option> <option value='sounds'>Sounds</option></select> <input type='submit' value='Search'> </form> </div> <!-- Searchtab end --> <div id="tab-list"><!-- Listtab start --> Please pick a folder to browse. <br /><br /> <form name="form"> <select name="site" onChange="javascript:formHandler()"> <option value="#">Look in folder...</option> <option value="<? print $page_url; ?>?type=list&map=models">Models</option> <option value="<? print $page_url; ?>?type=list&map=avatars">Avatars</option> <option value="<? print $page_url; ?>?type=list&map=textures">Textures</option> <option value="<? print $page_url; ?>?type=list&map=seqs">Seqs</option> <option value="<? print $page_url; ?>?type=list&map=sounds">Sounds</option> </select> </form> </div> <!-- Listtab end --> <div id="tab-info"><!-- Info tab start --> The OP currently contains: <br /><br /> <table> <tr><td><b><? echo $models; ?></b></td> <td>Models</td></tr> <tr><td><b><? echo $avatars; ?></b></td> <td>Avatars</td></tr> <tr><td><b><? echo $textures; ?></b></td> <td>Textures</td></tr> <tr><td><b><? echo $seqs; ?></b></td> <td>Seqs</td></tr> <tr><td><b><? echo $sounds; ?></b></td> <td>Sounds</td></tr> </table> </div> <!-- Info tab end --> </div> <!-- Tabs end --> </div> <!-- Start PHP generated content --> <? if($type=="search" || $type=="list") { $M=$_GET['map']; if($type=="search") { $Q=$_GET['q']; $empty="Nothing found with <b>\"" . $Q . So the page he can view will list all the files in the other folder and has a downloadable link to it so he can download the files Thanks Dan in need of an external link counter script! please help cheers matt Seems to be a basic question, but I couldn't find an answer nor figure it out on my own. Basically I have a script that takes out specific data out of the database, the script works on its own, now I just need a way to make the user execute it with a link or a button. Example: Category: [Smileys] - [Category2] - [Category3] - etc. As soon as the user clicks on [Smileys] all data in the database which contains the word smileys in the category field gets selected and outputted as a list. Again the script works, I just need to be able to execute it with a button. If I understood it correctly I have to run the script by adding a if (isset($_POST['Smileys'])) { in front of the script. But how do I build the connection with the text link? Hello, I had a web page which had sharing (share issue on facebook, twitter....) and I want to record what each user had shared. So, they will click on alink to share it. I want to call a php function when the user click on a link, whats the best method to do this? Thanks in advance This is my script I want to display but it does not show in the page just blank. <td><object width="220" height="148"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/user/THEWORLDOFTRAVEL#p/search/2/uX9nd3xM_MY=1&h1=enUS&color1=0x234900&color3=34900&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/user/THEWORLDOFTRAVEL#p/search/2/uX9nd3xM_MY=1&h1=enUS&color1=0x234900&color3=34900&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="220" height="148"></embed></object></td> Hi All, The Problem: I'm trying to learn how to take records from the NAME row of one table (i.e. Tom, Jim, Chris, Mike) and put them into a SELECT (drop down menu) box, then select a name and save it to a DIFFERENT table where the row is also called NAME, and THEN have that selection I just saved show in the SELECT box as SELECTED when the page refreshes. I have found a hundred websites showing how to bind a SELECT box to a table and put them into a SELECT box via $key => $val and even how to save it to ANOTHER textbox on the page, which is a lot easier, but never a step further as described in the first paragraph above. Seems unbelievable to me since it's so common. Maybe I'm just not using the proper search terms/keywords. Here's an example: Let's say you wanted to notify 3 people of your birthday. So, on the notification page, you would enter three names of people you would want notified all in separate input textboxes with [keys]. So, you enter John, Chris, and Tom into three text boxes and save the page. Done. Now, on another page, I have -- say .... five select boxes. For arguments sake, let's just say I click on all of them one at a time. In each of them, I would only see three names (John, Chris, and Tom). Now, in the first SELECT box I click on John. In the second select box I click on Chris, and on the third I click on Tom. Then save the form. I would like to see John, Chris, and Tom in the first three boxes after refreshing and I would like to see SELECT A NAME on the last two Select boxes that we never did anything with. Remember, there are NO default names in the first table with row called NAMES. They are populated by the user and saved to the row. I'm attaching an image of what the page looks like that I want to see the names and be able to select them. Does anyone have a link to a site that shows how to do this... or maybe have something very basic that would show me the process? Or, if not too difficult, maybe you could show me?
