PHP - Any Easy Way To List Update Columns
I need to update fields through a form, but there are MANY fields.
Instead of UPDATE table SET email='$email', name, etc, for EVERY value, is there a shortcut that might loop through all my fields, since I want every one of them to be checked for updated info. Similar TutorialsI made a small editing system for my news page, and I need to update three columns within my table "announcements" in the database. I tried a method of updating all of them with one MySQL query instead of using three as it just isn't neat. I've searched several methods via google and I've tried all of them, but just can't seem to get it to work. That being said. What I want to do in simplest terms is be able to assign a variable to each item in an sql table. So say I have an mysql table that has ID, username, fontcolor. Where should I place those bold lines in addEntry.php? I tried to run it but the result is a blank page... Also there's no email sending through to my test email 2. The manual approach: update $tablename set $column1='a', $column2='b' where $id=$value; what Im basically trying to do is just like a phpmyadmin function... you select rows you want to update with a checkbox and then it takes you to a page where the rows that are clicked are shown in forms so that you can view and edit info in them... and then have 1 submit button to update them all at once. Hi Guys, I want my UPDATE function from the code below to only update those fields that are NOT empty - if they are empty on submit then do not update or change any values from that field. I know that sounds odd, but with my file fields, when I submit to change something else at a later date it will overwrite the photo, download1,2 & 3 values and as a result I loose my files from the mysql table. I'll only include the query part of the code since that's what is relevant to my problem. The idea is basically to upload a new picture onto the database if no picture already exists for that member and display the picture on the page. If a picture already exists, then the script replaces the old picture with the new one upon upload. But for whatever reason I don't understand, when I try to replace the old pic, it gets inserted in a new row on the database instead of replacing the old row, and the new pic gets displayed on the web page alongside the old. Hi, In my mysql database i have a text input option, in the registration form and edit my details form i have a multiple select dropdown list, which user selects options to populate the text input box, which ultimately populates the text field in the mysql database. All works perfectly. The dropdownlist consists of 3 parts <optgroups> first is current selection (what is the usesr current selection)works fine, The second <optgroup> is existing words, what words we(the site) have given as options, and the third <optgroup> is the words that others have used. This is where im having a small problem. Because its a text field when i call the data from the database, it calls the entire text box as a single option in my select list.. I want to break the words in the text field (at the comma) and have them listed each one as an option in the select list.
