PHP - Dynamic Email Autoresponse - Mostly Works - Needs To Pass Info From Difft Tbl
Hello.
I have series of pages which connect form data and insert it into my database. When someone completes the form, they get an autoresponder with some variables of their signup included ($park & $firstname below). I would like to include some more detailed information regarding the event that is found in a different table called 'event'. I am not sure if it would take a join, or how to pass the variables. Can I just create a new SELECT statement and then pass the variables along? Any guidance would be great. Code: [Select] <?php include('dbconfig.php'); $event_id = $_POST['event_id']; $park = $_POST['park']; $firstname = $_POST['firstname']; $lastname = $_POST['lastname']; $email = $_POST['email']; $phone = $_POST['phone']; $email_list = $_POST['email_list']; // Make a MySQL Connection mysql_connect("localhost", "$user", "$password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("$database") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("INSERT INTO volunteer (id, event_id, park, firstname, lastname, email, phone, email_list) VALUES('', '$event_id', '$park', '$firstname', '$lastname', '$email', '$phone', '$email_list') ") or die(mysql_error()); ?> <?php $to = "$email"; $subject = "Trailworker Event Signup Confirmation"; $message = "Hello [b]$firstname[/b]! Thank you for signing up to work the [b]$park [/b] trailworker event. A crew leader will contact you shortly."; $from = "info@xxxxxxxxxx.com"; $headers = "From: $from"; mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers); echo "Thank you for signing up. You will receive an email shortly letting you know event details and who your crew leader is."; ?> Similar TutorialsHi, thanks for reading this! I need some help with my pagination, maybe the answer is very simple but I've tried a lot of coding including work with tables but it didn't work It's about my page (in Dutch) where I show images of collections. A page looks like this: http://www.verzamelaars.net/mobach/index.php Now I want the name of the collector under the image, but every time I get this: http://www.verzamelaars.net/mobach/index2.php The code I use now is: <?php while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<table><tr><td><a href='{$row['mijnlink']}'><img src={$row['thumb']} hspace=1 vspace=4></a></td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td><a href='{$row['verzamelaarlink']}'>{$row['verzamelaar']}</a></td></tr></table>"; } ?> I've been playing with the table but so far no good, hope you can help me with this! Kind regards, Arjen van Dorsten This is working just fine on a single page. It gives me all information I need. But I want to send an email with it. Although I couldn`t figure out how can I do it Code: [Select] $db = new mysqli('localhost', 'root', '', 'panel'); $sql = "select * from detail"; $read = $db->query($sql); <table style="border:0;width:600px;"> <tr> <td width="50px">Who</td> <td width="150px">Time</td> <td width="300px">What</td> </tr> <?php while($wr = mysqli_fetch_array($read)) { echo' <tr> <td>'.$wr['Who'].'</td> <td>'.$wr['Time'].'</td> <td>'.$wr['What'].'</td> </tr> '; } ?> Well this is pretty much the first time I'm attempting something new without a tutorial aiding me ( I know your gonna think I probably should have used 1 when checking my code ) Honestly my brain is fried, but I have a deadline for tomorrow. Basicly I'm sending an email upon registration ( email sends fine ) I made it so the email display the students name and course. However in my registration a student can select contact y or n, which determines whether the student wants to be contacted by other students. So when sending an email to a student who selected n for contact, is should only display the students name and course (sname, fname, cname). However, for a student who selected y for contact, it should display the name and course aswell of a list display the sname,fname and email of all the other students in my student table who selected y in their contact_flag field. Here is my misguided code: Code: [Select] <?php function sendmail(){ $cname = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['cname']); $sname = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['sname']); $fname = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['fname']); $contact = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['contact']); $Name = "Student Course Registration"; //senders name $email = "goldie@telkomsa.net"; //senders e-mail adress $recipient = ($_POST['email']); //recipient $mail_body = "Congratulations $fname $sname. You have successfully registered for the following course: $cname "; //mail body $subject = "Course registration successful!"; //subject $header = "From: ". $Name . " <" . $email . ">\r\n"; //optional headerfields if ($contact=='y'){ $query = "SELECT sname,fname,email FROM student WHERE $contact = ['contact_flag'] "; $run = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); $found = mysql_fetch_array($run); while ($found = mysql_fetch_array($run)) $contactemail=$person['email']; $contactsname=$person['sname']; $contactfname=$person['fname']; $mail_body2 = "Congratulations $fname $sname. You have successfully registered for the following course: $cname. Here is a list of all the students who you may be in contact with: $contactsname, $contactfname, $contactemail"; //mail body for contact flag { mail($recipient, $subject, $mail_body2, $header); } } else { mail($recipient, $subject, $mail_body, $header); } } ?> I am not receiving any errors from it, and I'm receiving an email which displays $mail_body instead of $mail_body2 which is my else statement. Please, help would be appreciate. Thanks in advance. Hello, I am new to PHP and would like to know what I am doing incorrectly. I have designed a login form which contains two variables: the username and the password. So for the username: <input type="hidden" name="email" id="email" value="example_username"> And for the password: <input type="password" name="password" id="password" size="15"> I then created a php script which I want to pass the variables "email" and "password" to the e-mail address: <?php { $message = "$email"; $message2 = "$password"; mail ("email@myserver.com", "Hello", $message, $message2); } ?> This should happen through the command: <action="http://www.myserver.com/myscript.php" method="post"> All I get is a blank email with the subject "Hello". Why are the email and password variables not being passed to my email by the php script? Thanks. Currently I have a PHP file that is pulling information from a table in the Database and inserting it into an HTML table. It consists of the fields: Last_Name, First_Name, Party, District, Address, CIty, State, Zip, and Email. And the Email field is being converted to a Hyperlink. (All working fine so far) I also have a form that has a prewritten letter to be sent to the email address. I need to have the HyperLink from the Email pass the address to the form to allow me to send it. I am not sure how to get this to happen. Here is the code I have so far: The pull from the database: <?php $dbhost = 'localhost'; $dbuser = 'removed'; $dbpass = 'removed'; $db = 'removed'; $link = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass)or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db($db)or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM 2011members") or die(mysql_error()); echo "<table border='1'>"; echo "<tr> <th>Last Name</th> <th>First Name</th> <th>Party</th> <th>District</th> <th>Address</th> <th>City</th> <th>State</th> <th>Zip</th> <th>Email</th> </tr>"; // keeps getting the next row until there are no more to get while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { // Print out the contents of each row into a table echo "<tr><td>"; echo $row['Last_Name']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['First_Name']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['Party']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['District']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['Address']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['City']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['State']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['Zip']; echo "</td><td>"; //Normal Pull //echo $row['Email']; //echo "</td><td>"; //Just Hyperlink //echo '<a href="http://',Email,'">',Email,'</a>'; //echo "</td></tr>"; echo '<a href="http://'.$row['Email'].'">'.$row['Email'].'</a>'; echo "</td></tr>"; } echo "</table>"; ?> The Form: Code: [Select] <?php if($_POST){ $to = 'becca@windfallstudio.com'; $subject = "WHAT SHOULD THIS BE"; $message = "Date: $date\n\r". I’ve searched on google but I have not found a way to do this. Can anyone help? Cheers, Aidan. Hi guys, i have a shopping cart made in php, now it works very well but i have a problem with sending its content to my email. So basicly when a customer chooses all the stuff he wants to buy i need it to send me the cart content to my email.
Here si the while loop :
while($row=mysql_fetch_array($query)) { $subtotal=$_SESSION['cart'][$row['product_id']]['quantity']*$row['price']; $totalprice+=$subtotal; ?> <tr> <td><?php echo $row['name'] ?></td> <td><input type="text" name="quantity[<?php echo $row['product_id']?>]" size="5" value="<?php echo $_SESSION['cart'][$row['product_id']]['quantity'] ?>"/></td> <td><?php echo $row['price']?>€</td> <td><?php echo $_SESSION['cart'][$row['product_id']]['quantity']*$row['price']?>€</td> </tr> <?php }So how could i copy the content of the cart that is created in this while loop and send it to email. I used <form action="checkout.php" method="post"> <textarea name="message">Full price: <?php echo $totalprice; ?></textarea> </form>Which send me a total price but i can't figure out how to send all the bought products with it. I work with a large codebase and I have this situation come up fairly often:
the legacy class has large objects such as:
$design->motor->dimensions->a; $design->motor->dimensions->bd; $design->specifications->weight; $design->data->height; //etcWhen I create a new class, that class sometimes operates on the specific data, so say: class MyClass { public function compute($weight, $height, $a) { //stuff } } //and I call this for example as such: (new MyClass())->compute($design->specifications->weight, $design->data->height, $design->motor->dimensions->a);CONS: Potential issue: if design specs change and I need to change things parameters in "compute" function, I need to "re-key" the variables I pass to the function, and adjust things accordinly in MyClass as wel. PROS: only the exact data is being passed, and this data can come from anywhere it is viable, so in effect the function is fairly well separated, I think. Alternative option for me is to pass the entire design object, i.e class MyClass { public function compute(&$design) //can also be done via DI through a setter or constructor. { print $design->specifications->weight; print ($design->data->height + $design->motor->dimensions->a); //stuff } } (new MyClass())->compute($design);PROS: In this case when things change internally in which variables are needed and how things are computed, I only need to change the code in compute function of the class itself. CONS: MyClass now needs to be aware of how $design object is constructed. When it comes to this parameter passing, and Dependency Injection like this in general, does Computer Science advocate a preference on this issue? Do I pass the entire object, or do I pass only the bits and pieces I need? I'm trying to get a simple table to display and am not sure how to make it happen. Table will have just 2 columns. A TIME and an EVENT. What I want to have happen is for the first row to show the TIME and next to that, the EVENT. If a TIME has more than one event going I want the next row to show an empty first cell and then the second event below the first. If I set up the loop the only way I know how (so far) it would also output the TIME value again and again as many times as there were events for that same time. For example what I don't want is: 9:15 Sunday School 9:15 Nursery Available What I do want is: 9:15 Sunday School Nursery Available Thanks. i wanting users to be able to update there email address and check to see if the new email already exists. if the email is the same as current email ignore the check. i have no errors showing up but if I enter a email already in the db it still accepts the new email instead of bringing the back the error message. Code: [Select] // email enterd from form // $email=$_POST['email']; $queryuser=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM members WHERE inv='$ivn' ") or die (mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $queryuser )) { $check=$info['email']; // gets current email // } if($check!=$email){ // if check not equal to $email check the new email address already exists// $queryuser=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM members WHERE email='$email' "); //$result=mysql_query($sql); $checkuser=mysql_num_rows($queryuser); if($checkuser != 0) { $error= "0"; header('LOCATION:../pages/myprofile.php?id='.$error.''); } } cheers Folks, I need help (Php code ) to generate a Dynamic Text on a Base Image. What i want to do is, to make this Image as header on my Site and to make this Header Specific to a Site, i want to Add the Domain Name on the Lower Left of the Image. Got the Idea? Here is the Image link: Quote http://img27.imageshack.us/i/shoppingheader1.jpg/ PHP Variable that holds the Domain name is: $domain All i need the Dynamic PHP Codes that i can put on all my sites to generate this Text on Image (Header) Dynamically... May Anyone Help me with this Please? Cheers Natasha T. Hi all I need to combine these two scripts: Firstly, the following decides which out of the following list is selected based on its value in the mySQL table: <select name="pack_choice"> <option value="Meters / Pack"<?php echo (($result['pack_choice']=="Meters / Pack") ? ' selected="selected"':'') ?>>Meters / Pack (m2)</option> <option value="m3"<?php echo (($result['pack_choice']=="m3") ? ' selected="selected"':'') ?>>Meters / Pack (m3)</option> <option value="Quantity"<?php echo (($result['pack_choice']=="Quantity") ? ' selected="selected"':'') ?>>Quantity</option> </select> Although this works OK, I need it also to show dynamic values like this: select name="category"> <?php $listCategories=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `product_categories` ORDER BY id ASC"); while($categoryReturned=mysql_fetch_array($listCategories)) { echo "<option value=\"".$categoryReturned['name']."\">".$categoryReturned['name']."</option>"; } ?> </select> I'm not sure if this is possible? Many thanks for your help. Pete Hello, I am working with a SMTP class to send an email. It's all working perfectly fine, but when the email is received (sent from the online form), and I open my email and click reply, there are two email addresses. The correct one (which I entered when I sent the email), and my ftp username for the site?? I've got three files that could effect this, but I was unable to locate any problems: mailer.php ( smtp send mail class) mail.php ( submission data: title, subject, etc. ) contact_form.php ( form for submission ) I am only including the file which I think is applicable (mail.php), but let me know if you would also like to see the mailer.php class.
