PHP - Update A File In Php?
So i write to an external file for my signatures storage...and dont yell at me about the joys of databases...i got it all worked out. anyways so my script changes the external file and then the external file is read and part of it is echoed on the page. Everything gets written adn everything but when i write to the file i have to refresh in order to echo the new info. I thought moving the script that changes the material in the file to the top would solve this...yet for some odd reason no change. fiddling around with it i found out that for some reason the file content dosnt actually change until I refresh. stranger still is that when I fwrite a str_replace it echos the new information just fine...hmm...help please!

The person I set it up for wants to be able change the Username and Password occasionally but wants me to set up a simple form which will overwrite the data in the config file (connection.php) instead of having to open the file himself (don't ask!). this question is regarding the plugin update, file uploader and SFTP - on a wordpress that runs on secured- server
I think I know the answer to the following question as "not possible" but I figured I would check. my sites are on servers where we disable FTP access and only use SFTP access, and also on a different port (not port 22). what if i want to use a automated maintaining service like the following https://mainwp.com http://wwww.infinitewp.com automated Installing and updating plugins to the sites does not seem to work and I assume this is the reason why. I'm also assuming the File uploader extension will not work either. Can anyone confirm this for sure though? Hi Guys, I want my UPDATE function from the code below to only update those fields that are NOT empty - if they are empty on submit then do not update or change any values from that field. I know that sounds odd, but with my file fields, when I submit to change something else at a later date it will overwrite the photo, download1,2 & 3 values and as a result I loose my files from the mysql table. I created this code to upload a member's main picture on his member page on website. I'll only include the query part of the code since that's what is relevant to my problem. The idea is basically to upload a new picture onto the database if no picture already exists for that member and display the picture on the page. If a picture already exists, then the script replaces the old picture with the new one upon upload. But for whatever reason I don't understand, when I try to replace the old pic, it gets inserted in a new row on the database instead of replacing the old row, and the new pic gets displayed on the web page alongside the old. I am trying to record site activity information from a common.php file using a user object. But since the file is included into different php files based on different situations I need a dynamic way of finding the file name that is including it. I could be over complicating things but right now this seems like the best solution other wise I'll have to rewrite the code on every page i write. Is there a function for doing this? In this multi file upload form, choose three images, click submit and preview the images on the preview page. If the user wishes to delete or replace an image, click edit and the form will go back to the previous page. Select the replace radio button for example on one of the three images and select a new image from the file input prompt and click submit. The form will go to the preview page again to display the images. During this process the image names are being input into a table and the images are being moved to a directory. The table is `id` AUTO_INCREMENT, `image0` `image1` `image2` `status` So input name='image[image0]' can be directed to table `image0` and so on. The code for keep and delete work fine, but how do I replace an image? I have two foreach blocks. The first one deletes the image file from the directory and deletes the image name from the table, but the second foreach dose not move the new image file into the directory. But I have got my upload.php working which is nice. I will post the code below. However, I would now like to restrict the file size and file type to only word documents. I currently have a restriction of 200KB but it's not working - no idea why as I've looked at other similar codes and they look the same. Also, just to complicate things - can I stop files overwriting each other when uploaded? At the moment, if 2 people upload files with the same name one will overwrite the other.
