PHP - Video Uploading Script With Conversion To Multiple File Types?
Anyone know of a script that will allow you to upload a file and converts it to a specified file format?
Folder layout: script/ script/videos/mp4/ } script/videos/ogg/ } folders for converted files from uploaded files script/videos/webm/ } script/videos/swf/ } Video player: Code: [Select] <video width="320" height="240" controls="controls"> <source src="script/videos/mp4/<? echo $movie; ?>.mp4" type="video/mp4" /> <source src="script/videos/ogg/ <? echo $movie; ?> .ogg" type="video/ogg" /> <source src="script/videos/webm/ <? echo $movie; ?> .webm" type="video/webm" /> <object data="script/videos/mp4/ <? echo $movie; ?> .mp4" width="320" height="240"> <embed src="script/videos/swf/ <? echo $movie; ?> .swf" width="320" height="240"> Your browser does not support video </embed> </object> </video> I have searched and searched the web for an answer and cannot find one pleas help? Similar TutorialsHey all, I am building a simple cms. I have a posts table and I have an images table. A post has many images and images has a foreign key to the posts table. So when a user edits, updates, creates, and deletes a post, they affect the images related to the post. Sometimes a post can have more than one image, like three images. Hence I rendered this in the view (note that I am using a datamapper that converts tables to objects and fields to key/value pairs): Code: [Select] foreach($records as $post){ echo form_open_multipart("homes/update/$post->id"); //File uploads require a multipart form. Default form handling uses the application/x-www-form-urlencoded content type. Multipart forms use the multipart/form-data encoding. //this is critical to pass the id as part of the action attribute of the form, so we can use our params hash to target the id to update the specific record echo label('Update Title'); echo form_input('title',$post->title); echo label('Update Body'); echo form_textarea('body',$post->body); $images = $post->images->include_join_fields()->get(); if(!is_null($images->image_file_name)){ echo label('Update Images'); foreach($images as $image){ echo form_upload('image_file_name',$image->image_file_name); } } } echo form_submit('submit','Update'); The above line of code will render a few input file types. The problem occurs during posting to my update method. It is looking for one parameter from the input file field and so if I upload three different images, it will only look for one and write only one to database: Code: [Select] $field_name = 'image_file_name'; if ( ! $this->upload->do_upload($field_name)){ $error = array('error' => $this->upload->display_errors()); echo $error['error']; // redirect('homes/edit'); } else { $data = array('upload_data' => $this->upload->data()); $image_file_name = $data['upload_data']['file_name']; Is it possible to do wht I am trying to do? Should I only have on input file type per form submission or is that I need to fix the code to accomodate for multiple submissions by creating an array of sorts? Thanks for response. Hey, been trying to make a form to upload an image to the server and also email the image as attachment. After nearly a week I managed to make it work. Only some validation needs to be done. My next step is to make it work for multiple files, ie. 5. The form will have 5 boxes to upload images and no more. I have tried a few different things with for loops ( ie for $i=0; $i<5; $i++ {...} ) but no luck. I can't think of any solution of a loop to upload multiple files and then email multiple attachment as my code. The code is: <?php session_start(); $imagename1 = $_FILES["uploadFile1"]["name"]; $_SESSION['imagename1'] = $imagename1; $imagename1 = $_SESSION['imagename1']; $imagetype1 = $_SESSION['imagetype1']; $imagesize1 = $_SESSION['imagesize1']; $imagetemp1 = $_SESSION['imagetemp1']; $thankyouurl = 'thankyou.php' ; $errorurl = 'error.php' ; $http_referrer = getenv( "HTTP_REFERER" ); $http_agent = getenv( "HTTP_USER_AGENT" ); $domain = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; $filename = $_SESSION['uploadFilename']; if(isset($_POST['send'])) { $fp = fopen($imagetemp1, "rb"); $file = fread($fp, $imagesize1); $file = chunk_split(base64_encode($file)); $num = md5(time()); fclose($fp); // UPLOAD FILE // possible PHP upload errors $errors = array(1 => 'php.ini max file size exceeded', 2 => 'html form max file size exceeded', 3 => 'file upload was only partial', 4 => 'no file was attached'); // check the upload form was actually submitted else print form isset($_POST['send']) or error('the upload form is neaded', $uploadForm); // check for standard uploading errors ($_FILES[$fieldname1]['error'] == 0) or error($errors[$_FILES[$fieldname1]['error']], $uploadForm); // check that the file we are working on really was an HTTP upload @is_uploaded_file($_FILES[$fieldname1]['tmp_name']) or error('not an HTTP upload', $uploadForm); // validation... since this is an image upload script we // should run a check to make sure the upload is an image @getimagesize($_FILES[$fieldname1]['tmp_name']) or error('only image uploads are allowed', $uploadForm); // make a unique filename for the uploaded file and check it is // not taken... if it is keep trying until we find a vacant one $now = date("y-m-d_H-i-s", time()); while(file_exists($uploadFilename = $uploadsDirectory.$now.'_'.$_FILES[$fieldname1]['name'])) { $now++; } // now let's move the file to its final and allocate it with the new filename @move_uploaded_file($_FILES[$fieldname1]['tmp_name'] , $uploadFilename) or error('receiving directory insuffiecient permission', $uploadForm); $from= 'youremail@server.co.uk'; $emailTo = 'mail@hotmail.com'; $subject = 'Quote Form'; $body = "equipment_type: $equipment_type \n\nModel: $Model \n\nMake: $Make \n\nModelNumber: $ModelNumber"; $fp = $_SESSION['fp']; $file = $_SESSION['file']; $num = "==Multipart_Boundary_x{$semi_rand}x".$_SESSION['num']; $headers = 'From: Name <'.$from.'>' . I tried undoing the mysql changes but it still won't upload the image to the directory. Am testing on my own computer using xampp so no file permission issues, plus it was working before. Hey Guys, How are custom Mime Types achieved? Had a quick search through the forums, and most of the posts relate to mail() questions. Did a google search and found a completely useless article that told me to edit a non-existent text box. Quick example, the file type I want is .WAgame, I got this far before I realised what I was doing didn't make sense. So I looked up mime types, knowing that this file would not exist. if ($_FILES["file"]["type"] != "file/WAgame") { naughty! } Help! Edit: Hi phpfreaks, please I have being working on a media site for few months now and I have designed everything that needs to be designed but A♏ having problems with my uploading code its not storing the file size in the database, I have tried and tried and all what have being doing seem to be taking me away from the right way with my little understanding of php. Here is the code that is giving me headache , <?php //include("includes/sess.php"); ?> <?php $upload="active"; include("includes/mheader.php"); ?> <?php if(isset($_POST['Upload'])) { ////////////////////////////////// //$id=$_POST['id']; $picture=$_POST['picture']; $artiste=$_POST['artiste']; $title=$_POST['title']; $genre=$_POST['genre']; $uname=$_POST['uname']; if($title=="") { $message="unknown Title"; header("location:upload.php?message=$message"); exit(); } if($genre=="") { $message="unknown Type"; header("location:upload.php?message=$message"); exit(); } /*if($nfile=="") { $message="file not found"; header("location:upload.php?message=$message"); exit(); } */ if($uname=="") { $message="error you"; header("location:upload.php?message=$message"); exit(); } if($artiste=="") { $message="Artiste ?"; header("location:upload.php?message=$message"); exit(); } header("location:upload.php?message=$message"); ////////////////////////////////// $size=$_FILES["picture"]["size"]; $file_size1 = $size/1024 ; $file_size = $file_size1/1000 ; function UploadOne($fname) { $uploaddir = 'music/NaijaMp3_'; if (is_uploaded_file($fname['tmp_name'])) { $filname = basename($fname['name']); $uploadfile = $uploaddir . basename($fname['name']); if (move_uploaded_file ($fname['tmp_name'], $uploadfile)) $res = "File " . $filname . I've been searching on google and on these forums for that type of information but I didn't find anything. Is there any website or PHP library/framework that I should look at in order to find that kind of information? Any help is appreciated! Hello, all: been trying to convert this little single-file upload to multiple by naming each file form-field as "userfile[]" as it's supposed to automatically treat them as an array.. but no luck! Can you guide me as to what am I doing wrong?? appreciate the help! Code: [Select] <?php if (!isset($_REQUEST["seenform"])) { ?> <form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="#" method="post"> Upload file: <input name="userfile[]" type="file" id="userfile[]"> Upload file: <input name="userfile[]" type="file" id="userfile[]"> <input type="submit" value="Upload"> <input type="hidden" name="seenform"> </form> <?php } else { // upload begins $userfiles = array($_FILES['userfile']); foreach ($userfiles as $userfile) { // foreach begins $uploaded_dir = "uploads/"; $userfile = $_FILES['userfile']["name"]; $path = $uploaded_dir . $userfile; if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']["tmp_name"], $path)) { print "$userfile file moved"; // do something with the file here } else { print "Move failed"; } } // foreach ends } // upload ends ?> Hello,
How can I make gif from video while uploading it or after uploaded? Is there any tutorial.. I've been searched but didn't found anything.
The reason I want this is because when I upload video then I will show few thumbnails of the video on the page. Then when user hover the video will play short gif from the video 2-5 seconds and when the user click on video will play the video.. Hope you get what I mean.. I don't know how to explain it better. Just point me somewhere to read or watch about this..
Thank's in advanced!
p.s. Sorry for my English!
EDIT:
Here is the exaplme.. when you hover over the video an hold your mouse there it will play some gif

Edited by vinsb, 10 September 2014 - 07:49 AM. Been looking on the web on and off for the past few days but can't seem to find a list of all file types that PHP (or is it Apache) appreciates. Like when you go and upload file using a form and then it outputs: Quote Array ( [upload_file] => Array ( [name] => discount_xcart_orders.csv [type] => text/comma-separated-values [tmp_name] => /tmp/phprAk2R6 [error] => 0 [size] => 674 ) ) Is there an entire list of file types that this '[type] => text/comma-separated-values' falls under? Just out of interest of course, Jeremy. hi i m new to php there is two basic script i m testing on my localhost but it gives me error "( ! ) Notice: Undefined index: video in C:\wamp\www\Boysjoys\video\upload.php on line 4" "( ! ) Notice: Undefined index: video in C:\wamp\www\Boysjoys\video\upload.php on line 16" "( ! ) Notice: Undefined index: video in C:\wamp\www\Boysjoys\video\upload.php on line 27" i cant find where is the real problem is ##########FORM########### <form name="upload" action="upload.php" method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" name="video"> <input type="submit" value="UPLOAD"> </form> #########FORM############ #########PHP############# <?php // This is the directory where images will be saved $path="uploaded/"; $path=$path.basename($_FILES["video"]["name"]); //This gets all the other information from the form $video=$_FILES["video"]["name"]; //connect to database $con=mysql_connect("localhost","root","") or die (mysql_error()); //SELECTING THE DATABASE mysql_select_db("admin_bj",$con) or die(mysql_error()); //write information to the database mysql_query("INSERT INTO 'video'(video) VALUES('$video')"); //write file to server if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES["video"]["tmp_name"],$path)) { // execute if all is ok echo "the file " . basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']). I'm hoping someone might know of a guide that would cover the following. I'm struggling to find one! Basically I have many online events to list in many different timezones. Users may wish to use their time zone to display information in. What I would like to do is store a timestamp and timezone for each event, then will need (I think!) to convert all to a single timezone in order to list them chronologically. From that I would then convert them into the user's desired timezone and display to the page. The idea to is avoid changes in time throughout the year, so it does it all automatically. Any links, tips, words of advice very gratefully received! I am in the process of creating a script where only certains video types can be uploaded but at the moment am stuck.

I need to be able to upload multiple files with the use of one form. Right now I have support for one file and it works great. I am stuck on what route I should take for times sake and reliability and functionality. Can I run each file on its own through the PHP script to upload the file; I would have to create a loop to run through the script as many times as there are files. OR Do I create new functionality and add the files through the use of an array? This is where I am getting the ARRAY idea: http://www.phpeasystep.com/phptu/2.html This is the PHP code that is submitting the image and uploading to file system. This is what I would use to loop through multiple files if I take the loop method. <? header("location: /classifieds/index.php"); echo '<html><center>'; //first lets upload any files that were selected// $date = date("m/d/y",time()); //check that we have a file if((!empty($_FILES["uploaded_file"])) && ($_FILES['uploaded_file']['error'] == 0)) { //Check if the file is JPEG image and it's size is less than 350Kb $filename = basename($_FILES['uploaded_file']['name']); $ext = substr($filename, strrpos($filename, '.') + 1); if (($ext == "jpg") && ($_FILES["uploaded_file"]["type"] == "image/jpeg") && ($_FILES["uploaded_file"]["size"] < 2500000)) { //Determine the path to which we want to save this file $newname = dirname(__FILE__).'/uploads/'.$filename; //Check if the file with the same name is already exists on the server if (!file_exists($newname)) { //Attempt to move the uploaded file to it's new place if ((move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploaded_file']['tmp_name'],$newname))) { //strip off file path for $newname variable so path is not accessible via html// $tempnewname = explode('/', $newname); echo $tempnewname; $newname=$tempnewname[9].'/'.$tempnewname[10]; echo "It's done! The file has been saved as: ".$filename; } else { echo "Error: A problem occurred during file upload!"; } } else { //echo "Error: File ".$_FILES["uploaded_file"]["name"]." already exists";// $timestampname = str_replace('.jpg', date('j-n-Y_g:i:s').'.jpg', (basename($_FILES['uploaded_file']['name']))); $path = dirname(__FILE__).'/uploads/'; $fullname = $path.$timestampname; //strip off file path for $newname variable so path is not accessible via html// $tempnewname = explode('/', $fullname); $newname=$tempnewname[7].'/'.$tempnewname[8]; $picname=$tempnewname[8]; ((move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploaded_file']['tmp_name'],$newname))); } } else { echo "Error: Only .jpg images under 2.5MB are accepted for upload"; } } else { echo "Error: No file uploaded"; } ?> Thanks for hte help -Beemer Code: [Select] <?php if (!isset($_SESSION['user_id'])) { echo '<p class="login">Please <a href="login.php">log in</a> to access this page.</p>'; exit(); } else{ //Echo out the username of member echo('<h3 class="login"> ' . $_SESSION['username'] . I am also using two tables in my database and need to add into the script the user session id (user_id primary) from the current page and store it into the (user_id foreign) for the cycles tables. thanks This topic has been moved to Other Web Server Software. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=351153.0 Purpose: To get time zone of a remote file in my time zone. I have to download a file daily (mp3, don't worry its legal!) from BBC. Problem is that sometimes BBC doesn't update the file and i have to download entire file to check if it has been updated or not. Hence i decided to code a page that gives me date and time of that remote file. I have successfully compiled the code (that i got from internet). But the time returns in EST. I want the time in IST (indian std time Asia/Calcutta). CURLINFO_FILETIME has bee used. Below is code. Pls suggest me how to convert EST to IST - Warning: I am a newbie. But i can follow instructions Code: [Select] <?php $curl = curl_init('http://wsdownload.bbc.co.uk/hindi/tx/32mp3/din_bhar.mp3'); //don't fetch the actual page, you only want headers curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_NOBODY, true); //stop it from outputting stuff to stdout curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); // attempt to retrieve the modification date curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_FILETIME, true); $result = curl_exec($curl); if ($result === false) { die (curl_error($curl)); } $timestamp = curl_getinfo($curl, CURLINFO_FILETIME); if ($timestamp != -1) { //otherwise unknown echo "BBC Hindi was last modified" . date("d-m-Y h:i:s A T", $timestamp); //etc } ?> I have used it with custom getRemoteFileSize function he - Code: [Select] http://island.web44.net/bbc.php |
