Which mean the required field code didnt work 2 all, all this year,.. what a dissapointment. Can someone take a look at my scripts and fixed please [attachment deleted by admin] Hi Everyone. I am in need of assistance, I need a form that i will use on a model agency site i am making, the form i have only has the option to upload one image and records name, age etc... What i need is a form that will upload multiple images, 2 will do but if i had a option to add more that would be great, and a pdf resume, does anyone have a similar form i can have a look at that does this, any help be awesome, i am already over the deadline. Hi, I need a small help. Here is my situation. I am using a MVC application (e.g. Joomla or Drupal) which has a .htaccess redirect rule that all requests are passed through index.php file. That's normal and this is my main application. Now I installed another application within the application folder structure. What I want do do here is to allow opening the third party application URLs after one logged into my main application. Can anybody provide me some pointers to do the same? Please let me know if you need any further information on this. Any solution irrespective of framework will work. Thanks! Anupam Hey all. What is the best way to check if a form field has been entered by the user? Because a field left blank by the user still shows up as set with the isset function. Example: if (isset($_POST['name'])) { echo "The field is set"; } This is a problem if I'm checking if the user has skipped over the name field on a form because an empty value gets passed to the POST array even if the field is left blank. Do people use empty or a regular expression instead? Cheers! I'm having some trouble that I can't seem to figure out.. I've got a form with a file input area to upload an image. I just wanted to go through a if statement to check if a file was uploaded (which is required), however, even when I select a file to upload and submit, I still get the error echoing out as if nothing was uploaded. <?php if(!empty($_POST['submitFeature'])) { // set variables $featurename = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['featurename']); $featuredesc = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['featuredesc']); $src = $_FILES['featureupload']['tmp_name']; // 1 - A. REQUIRED FIELDS VERIFICATION if(!empty($featurename) && !empty($_FILES['featureupload']['tmp_name'])) { echo 'Image uploaded!'; } else { if (empty($_FILES['featureupload']['tmp_name'])) { echo 'No image uploaded.'; } } // 1 - B. END REQUIRED FIELDS ERROR CODES } ?> <form action="<?php $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="post"> <div class="formSec"><label for="featurename" class="required">Feature Name:</label> <input type="text" name="featurename" id="featurename" value="" /></div> <div class="formSec"><label for="featureupload" class="required">Upload Featu </label> <input type="hidden" class="hidden" name="max_file_size" value="9999999999999" /> <input type="file" name="featureupload" id="featureupload" /></div> <input class="submit" type="submit" name="submitFeature" value="Submit Your Feature" /> </form> I'm trying to get some code to work that will update a field to show a checkbox either checked or not checked.
The field either uses a Y or N. Y is checked, N not checked. A code that I have tried displays the correct result for the box either checked or not checked.
input type="checkbox" name="obcDisplay" value="Y" <?=($r['obcDisplay'] == 'Y') ? 'checked="checked"' : ''; ?>/>But I want the ability to change when the form is submitted. so if I bring up a page and the checkbox is checked (Y) and I submint, I want the database to update to N and the other way around. This is what I have for the form (in short version) along with the text area and submit button. The form shows up OK on the Internet http://www.lakegenevapieco.com/test_product_list.php The problem is when I fill it out & submit it doesn't do two things: 1) It doesn't E-Mail me the information 2) It doesn't say, Thank you for using our mail form. It actually says page not available. Here is the code: <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us"> <title>Products to be listed on the web site for the month of</title> </head> <body> Products to be listed on the web site for the month of <select size="1" name="MONTH"> <option selected>PICK MONTH</option> <option>1-JANUARY</option> <option>2-FEBUARY</option> <option>3-MARCH</option> <option>4-APRIL</option> <option>5-MAY</option> <option>6-JUNE</option> <option>7-JULY</option> <option>8-AUGUST</option> <option>9-SEPTEMBER</option> <option>10-OCTOBER</option> <option>11-NOVEMBER</option> <option>12-DECEMBER</option> </select> <select size="1" name="YEAR"> <option selected>PICK YEAR</option> <option>2010</option> <option>2011</option> <option>2012</option> <option>2013</option> <option>2014</option> <option>2015</option> </select></p> <p><input type="checkbox" name="PumpkinSB" value="ON"> Pumpkin Price increase to <input type="text" name="PriceIncreaseTo151" size="20" value="$"></p> <p><input type="checkbox" name="PumpkinWalnutSB" value="ON"> Pumpkin Walnut Price increase to <input type="text" name="PriceIncreaseTo152" size="20" value="$"></p> <p><input type="checkbox" name="RaspberrySB" value="ON"> Raspberry Price increase to <input type="text" name="PriceIncreaseTo153" size="20" value="$"></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> <?php function spamcheck($field) { //filter_var() sanitizes the e-mail //address using FILTER_SANITIZE_EMAIL $field=filter_var($field, FILTER_SANITIZE_EMAIL); //filter_var() validates the e-mail //address using FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL if(filter_var($field, FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)) { return TRUE; } else { return FALSE; } } if (isset($_REQUEST['email'])) {//if "email" is filled out, proceed //check if the email address is invalid $mailcheck = spamcheck($_REQUEST['email']); if ($mailcheck==FALSE) { echo "Invalid input"; } else {//send email $email = $_REQUEST['email'] ; $subject = $_REQUEST['subject'] ; $message = $_REQUEST['message'] ; mail("myemail@mia.net", "Subject: $subject", $message, "From: $email" ); echo "Thank you for using our mail form"; } } else {//if "email" is not filled out, display the form echo "<form method='post' action='mailform.php'> Email: <input name='email' type='text' /><br /> Subject: <input name='subject' type='text' /><br /> Message:<br /> <textarea name='message' rows='15' cols='40'> </textarea><br /> <input type='submit' /> </form>"; } ?> </p> </form> </body> </html> Hello, I have looked on the forum, but haven't found the answer to this. I have a basic [name, email, phone, event] web form and want to make sure there person is not submitting twice by doing duplicate check of the mail. I looked at other solutions that suggested setting up unique IDs for each user, but it would be possible for a user to sign up for more then one event. Any info would be helpful. Not a newbie, but not an expert. I have a form with a gender control made up of two radio buttons. If the user doesn't fill out this form, nothing gets submitted (i.e name='gender') in the $_POST array. So how ae you supposed to verify that the form field was left blank, and use that information to say display an error message on the form? Edited February 16 by SaranacLakeI have made a form that asks a user for email, first name, last name, and password. I am using Spry validation tools in Dreamweaver. When I used those only, I did not have a problem. The problem began once I tried to actually check to see if the email was already registered. I have tried changing so many things like what $_POST variable to look for at the beginning, to different db connection arrangements. I am stumped. The only other thing I can think of is that I have the order wrong somehow in the logic. Thanks for the help. First, here is the form: Code: [Select] Enter Email<?php if($error_email_taken) echo ": $error_email_taken."; ?> <form name="form1" method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>"> <input name="email" type="text" id="email" value="<?php if($_POST["email"]) echo $_POST["email"]; ?>"> <input name="first" type="text" id="first" value="<?php if($_POST["first"]) echo $_POST["first"]; ?>"> <input name="last" type="text" id="last" value="<?php if($_POST["last"]) echo $_POST["last"]; ?>"> <input name="pass" type="password" class="formText1" id="pass" value="<?php if($_POST["pass"]) echo $_POST["pass"]; ?>"> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"></td> </form> And the email verification and insert, which is placed before the opening html tag. Code: [Select] <?php if($_POST['Submit']) { //Check to see if email is registered. $email = $_POST['email']; $dbc=mysqli_connect(DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, DB_NAME); $q_1 = "SELECT users_email FROM table WHERE users_email = $email"; $r_1 = mysqli_query($dbc, $q_1); $rows_1 = mysqli_num_rows($r_1); if ($rows_1 == 0) { //If 0, email is not already registered. $new_email = $_POST['email']; } else { $error_email_taken = "This email is already registered."; } //If everything is good, insert the information. if(isset($new_email)) { $first_name = $_POST['first']; $last_name = $_POST['last']; $password = $_POST['pass']; //Insert User information. $q_2 = "INSERT INTO table (users_email, users_first, users_last, users_pass) VALUES ('$new_email', '$first_name', '$last_name', '$password')"; $r_2 = mysqli_query($dbc, $q_2); //Go to new page if form was submitted and information properly inserted. header('Location: new_page.php'); }//End: if($new_email) } //End: if $_POST['submit'] ?> I've simplified it as much as I could. I totally eliminated stuff like a password hash, etc. because I wanted to get it down to the most simple form, so once this gets working, I'll add that other stuff later. Thanks so much again. Hi Everyone, I am having problems when submitting a form that has check boxes within it (post.php). All the check boxes have a name and a checked value of 1 - the receiving page (for example submit.php) has the variables defined: $tickbox1 = $_POST['tickbox1']; The problem I am finding is that if the box isnt checked - I get an "index is not defined" error. I would suppose because there is no value. I have tried this before and it has worked, however that was on Apache and this is on IIS. Is there a work around? Thanks Matt Hello all. I have seen a few threads that loosely deal with ways to do this, but haven't seen anything yet that speaks to this scenario. I have a page (volunteer_signup.php) that shows events to participate in and it passes some variables to a second page (volunteer.php)which is a form for individuals to enter their credentials and that appends to the event detail passed from the first page. I want to be able to check that their email isn't already associated with this particular event, but it is allowed to be in the database for another event. I wanted to do something like the code below, but don't know how to incorporate that with the form (or in volunteerDB.php) any help would be great. thank you in advance. Code: [Select] $sql_email_check = mysql_query("SELECT email FROM users WHERE email='$email'"); $email_check = mysql_num_rows($sql_email_check); if($email_check > 0) { echo "Email is already in our database. Please enter a different email !! <br />"; } exit(); } current form: Code: [Select] <html> <?php include('dbconfig.php'); $event_id = $_GET['id']; $park = $_GET['park']; $orderdate = $_GET['orderdate']; $description = $_GET['description']; $leader = $_GET['leader']; $hour = $_GET['hour']; $min = $_GET['min']; $ampm = $_GET['ampm']; echo $orderdate; echo "<BR>"; echo $park; echo "<BR>"; echo $description; echo "<BR>"; echo $hour; echo ":"; echo $min; echo $ampm; ?> <body> <form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="volunteerDB.php" method="POST" name="myform"> <table border="1"> <input type="hidden" name="event_id" value=<?php echo $event_id; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="park" value=<?php echo $park; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="orderdate" value=<?php echo $orderdate; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="description" value=<?php echo $description; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="leader" value=<?php echo $leader; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="hour" value=<?php echo $hour; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="min" value=<?php echo $min; ?>> <input type="hidden" name="ampm" value=<?php echo $ampm; ?>> <tr> <td>First Name</td> <td> <input name="firstname" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Last Name</td> <td> <input name="lastname" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Email</td> <td> <input name="email" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Phone</td> <td> <input name="phone" /> </td> </tr> <tr> </tr> </table> <input type="submit" value="Submit" onclick="verify();"> </td> </tr> </form> </body> </html> form feeds to this php page (volunteerDB.php): Code: [Select] <?php include('dbconfig.php'); $event_id = $_POST['event_id']; $park = $_POST['park']; $orderdate = $_POST['orderdate']; $description = $_POST['description']; $leader = $_POST['leader']; $hour = $_POST['hour']; $min = $_POST['min']; $ampm = $_POST['ampm']; $firstname = $_POST['firstname']; $lastname = $_POST['lastname']; $email = $_POST['email']; $phone = $_POST['phone']; $email_list = $_POST['email_list']; // Make a MySQL Connection mysql_connect("localhost", "$user", "$password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("$database") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("INSERT INTO volunteer (id, event_id, park, firstname, lastname, email, phone, email_list) VALUES('', '$event_id', '$park', '$firstname', '$lastname', '$email', '$phone', '$email_list') ") or die(mysql_error()); ?> <?php $to = "$email"; $subject = "Trailworker Event Signup Confirmation"; $message = "Hello $firstname! Thanks for any help. I am using a captcha like image verification for my form fields. Hi im new to php and I need help making webpage that queries a mysql database based on a 3 check boxes and displays results on the same page or on another page. The table being queried has 4 columns, name, gps, wifi, bluetooth. So for example a row in the table would be like, samsung galaxy s2, yes, yes, yes. The idea is for it to be a website that will display phones according to their features. So the idea is depending on if the boxes were ticked the samsung galaxy would be displayed as a result. So i need some help understanding how to make this. Some1 gave me the code below in attempt to help me (im not sure it works or not) but im not sure how fully use it, ie what pages i need to make and how i create the connection to the mysql database, and how to use the query that they wrote to display the results thanks code: Code: [Select] <form action="?do=filter" method="post"> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3" border="1"> <tr> <td>GPS<input type="checkbox" name="gps" value="checked"></td> <td>Wifi<input type="checkbox" name="wifi" value="checked"></td> <td>Bluetooth<input type="checkbox" name="bluetooth" value="checked"></td> </tr> <tr><td><input type='submit' name='filter' value='Filter'></td></tr> </table> </form> </html> <?php function filterMe($filter){ if(isset($_POST[$filter])){ return "Yes"; }else{ return "No"; } } if(isset($_POST['filter'])){ echo "Gps - " . filterMe('gps'); echo " Wifi - " . filterMe('wifi'); echo " Bluetooth - " . filterMe('bluetooth'); } ?> All you need to do is use a query something like SELECT name,gps,wifi,bluetooth FROM `product` WHERE `gps`='".filterMe('gps')."' AND `wifi`='".filterMe('wifi')."' AND `bluetooth`='".filterMe('bluetooth')."' Hello All: Trying to work with PHP on a contact form with a jQuery Validation to make certain that the visitors fill out the required information. I'll try to show everything that I have, and then the error I am getting when the visitor hits "submit." I don't know PHP all that well, and trying to learn my way through it. I used a couple of tutorials to add the features I needed and did my own styling on the live site. Here is the PHP that is currently in the header of my markup: <?php //If the form is submitted if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { //Check to make sure that the First name field is not empty if(trim($_POST['firstname']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $firstname = trim($_POST['firstname']); } //Check to make sure that the Last name field is not empty if(trim($_POST['lastname']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $lastname = trim($_POST['lastname']); } //Check to make sure that the Street Address 01 field is not empty if(trim($_POST['street01']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $street01 = trim($_POST['street01']); } //If Street02 is filled out, give it a value $street02 = $_POST['street02']; //Check to make sure that the City field is not empty if(trim($_POST['city']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $city = trim($_POST['city']); } //Check to make sure that the State field is not empty if(trim($_POST['state']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $state = trim($_POST['state']); } //Check to make sure that the Zip field is not empty if(trim($_POST['zip']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $zip = trim($_POST['zip']); } //If Email is filled out, give it a value $email = $_POST['email']; //If Telephone is filled out, give it a value $telephone = $_POST['telephone']; //Default Subject Value $subject = "VMC Inquiry"; //Check checkboxes foreach($_POST['check'] as $value) { $check_msg = "Checked: $value\n"; } //If Message is filled out, give it a value $comment = $_POST['comment']; //If there is no error, send the email if(!isset($hasError)) { $emailTo = 'xxxx.xxxx@gmail.com'; //Put your own email address here $body = "Name: $firstname $lastname \n\nStreet Address: $street01 \n\nStreet Address*: $street02 \n\nCity: $city \n\nState: $state \n\nZip: $zip \n\nEmail*: $email \n\nTelephone*: $telephone \n\nCheck Box: $check_msg \n\nMessage:\n $comment"; $headers = 'From: XXXXX <'.$emailTo.'>' . "\r\n" . 'Reply-To: ' . $email; mail($emailTo, $subject, $body, $headers); $emailSent = true; } } ?> So basically I am using classes to say whether or not something is required, which ties into the jQuery validation. If it isn't required, whatever the visitor types into the box is put into something like "$telephone" which is then printed in the e-mail. The markup for the forms in the body is the following: Code: [Select] <p class="contact-text-right">For more information, or to have a list of our properties mailed to you, please fill out the form below.</p> <div id="contact-wrapper"> <?php if(isset($hasError)) { //If errors are found ?> <p class="error">Please check if you've filled all the fields with valid information. Thank you.</p> <?php } ?> <?php if(isset($emailSent) && $emailSent == true) { //If email is sent ?> <p class="accept"><strong><?php echo $firstname;?>,Your Email Successfully Sent!</strong></p> <?php } ?> <form method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" id="contactform"> <div id="names"> <label for="firstname"><strong>First Name:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="firstname" id="firstname" value="" class="required" /> <label for="lastname"><strong>Last Name:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="lastname" id="lastname" value="" class="required" /> </div> <div id="address01"> <label for="street01"><strong>Street Address:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="street01" id="street01" value="" class="required" /> </div> <div id="address02"> <label for="street02"><strong>Street Address*:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="street02" id="street02" value="" /> </div> <div id="city"> <label for="city"><strong>City:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="city" id="city" value="" class="required city" /> <label for="state"><strong>State:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="state" id="state" value="" class="required state" /> <label for="zip"><strong>Zip Code:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="zip" id="zip" value="" class="required zip" /> </div> <div id="email"> <label for="email"><strong>E-mail*:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" value="" class="email"/> <label for="telephone"><strong>Telephone*:</strong></label> <input type="text" name="telephone" id="telephone" value="" class="telephone" /> <p class="bottom">*Optional fields.</p> </div> <div class="checkbox"> <p><input type="checkbox" name="check[]" value="properties">XXX</p> <p><input type="checkbox" name="check[]" value="contact-regarding">XXXX</p> <p class="indent">(Please list properties or ask specific questions in the space below.)</p> </div> <div id="comment"> <label for="comment"></label> <textarea name="comment" id="comment" ></textarea> </div> <div id="button"> <input type="submit" value="Send Message" name="submit" /> </div> </form> All seems well until I hit submit on the live site. I think get this error returned to me: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ......./html/development/contact.php on line 64 The e-mail goes through, with all the information, no problems! I just can't get this error message to go away. Line 64 of contact.php is where the checkbox coding is: //Check checkboxes foreach($_POST['check'] as $value) { $check_msg = "Checked: $value\n"; } I know I've submitted a lot of code here, and tried to narrow you down to the exact spot I think the problem is, but hopefully some of you PHP gurus can pick out the flaw in a heartbeat. I really appreciate all the help. B |
