PHP - Sending To Multiple Users
Hey guys.
So I'm about to start developing a Private Messaging system for a CMS that I already have set up and working fine, and I had a problem I would like to solve before I start. I would like to add a feature that allows users to send the message to one or more users at a time. Whether it be by typing in the different usernames seperated by commas in the input field or another method, I have no idea how I'd handle submitting this into the database. I don't want it to be like a group conversation though, I want it to submit the message seperately for each user they included in the receptitents field. Any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Gathering it'd be like an array of some sort but I have very little experience with arrays from forms and how to seperate them. Similar TutorialsI am basically done with my entire site. I just realized...what happens if 10 users are trying to fwrite to one file at once? that is how i store my usernames passwords signatures and all that jazz. If users cant all fwrite at once my site is not going to work AT ALL. and I might just have to give up haha. good news or bad news? Hello PHP mates! How to make signup page for multiple types of users? For example, type A user has its own signup form, user type B also has its own and same goes for C type of user. How can I make that? Her idea is to have the guests sign in with a user/pass that she provides, and once they sign in, they will be taken to a page that has their name on it (i.e. "Mr. and Mrs. So and So, you are invited...). I have come to the conclusion that I will need to make an image for each guest's name (she wants to use a font for their names that nobody will have on their computer) so what I need to know is: How do I link each user name to their own personalized webpage, where the image of their name on the next page will change based on what username is entered? I have been told to use Sessions (which I don't yet have in this code), but I'm clueless as to how to make that work for multiple users. I come from a desktop (vb.net) background and have used oridinary text files for my databases. I use file locking to prevent other processes from writing to the same file simultaneously.
Now I am moving over the PHP/MySQL - what precautions should I take to stop a simultaneous processes from writing to a table at the same time.?
Do I need to lock the table before writing to it?
Does MySQL deal with this automatically and just block my process until the table becomes free?
(I am talking about a single table here, not multiple dependant tables - I know that is another issue)

So I am looping through the array of emails and then sending out the emails individually. The script works except it is sending out more than one email to some of the email address. Today my client told me that he got 2 more emails on Sunday just like the 2 he got on Thursday. I am assuming that this has something to do with caching, but I do not know. The trigger that sends out the emails is part of a cron job. The cronjob runs every 30 minutes. Checks to see if there is a new entry in one of the tables in the database. Then it sends out the email to all of the members. After the email is sent a value is changed for that entry in the data base. I am explaining this only to help you to see that the problem is not that the code is being triggered again. If that was the problem then there would be and email every 30 minutes and that is not what happened. Here is the code:

Hi all! I have a page that is used to manage multiple user requests. The problem that I am having, is that it is supposed to send an email to the reporter any time their request is updated from this page. This works fine as long as I am doing one at a time, but when I try to update multiple records it doesn't send the emails. (All other functionality is working fine though.) All other actions in the foreach() are also working. You'll notice that I'm echoing the username and email at the end for debugging purposes. The interesting thing is, that will output all of the correct usernames and emails for each user, it's just that the $email->send; just isn't working. So, I have a table that logs every time a user visits my site and logs in, it stores the date / time as a unix timestamp and it logs their user id.
I started by getting the id's of any user who logs in more than 5 times in a specified period, but now I want to extend that...

I just discovered that I have a major security flaw with my website. Anyone who logs in to the website can easily access other users information as well as delete and edit other users information just by changing the ID variable in the address bar. I have user ID Session started on these pages but still people can do anything they like with other users information just by editing the address bar. For example if your logged in in the address bar of www.mywebsite.com/delete_mystuff.php?id=5 and change the "5" say to a "9" then you will have access to user#9 information. So on second site there will be formfields for every dog in every class, created with php. User should be able to take dogname from jquery autocomplete - this works for multiple fields. But i need the according id to the dogname - and actual only one id is given - the first one is changing by choosing from autocomplete in next fields... Data came from a json array like

I changed in script and form id='dogidindatabase' to class, but it doesn´t work.

Try to insert a dogname in first input-field (choose "exc") and insert first one - the id is under dogname. In second dogname inputfield you can choose second dog - the id for the first one changes to id of seond one ....
How can i get both for every dog?
Ok I'm trying to insert multiple rows by using a while loop but having problems. At the same time, need to open a new mysql connection while running the insert query, close it then open the previous mysql connection. I managed to insert multiple queries before using a loop, but for this time, the loop does not work? I think it is because I am opening another connection... yh that would make sense actually?
