PHP - Deleting The Last Character Of A String

Hey all,

I'm looking to produce a random 10 character string like: abcABC0123 when the below method is called:

But the randomize method is not returning desired result. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I have this command that basically populates my website with titles for pages based on the information that is placed within "info.txt" I have multiple titles being created so I'd like a way of putting them in order beside alphabetically.

My thought was that I could place numbers as the first character in the "info.txt" file and that would allow me to put the titles in an order I find acceptable. Now this causes the issue that I don't want those numbers displayed on my website. So the Echo needs to strip the number.... I'm lost, but my brain thinks it's a good idea.

I have a $string with this structure "word-word2 something-SECONDPART". I want to divide it to $string1 and $string2 by separating with the last "-".

The point is that "-" exists in the first part, and I just want to make the second string after the last "-"

i have to tables... forums & subscription

i would like to insert a random character string into 'forums' to be used as a subscription id.
and then have the same random string to be inserted into 'subscription'

I was wondering if anyone knows a good way to check for an even number of each character in a string.  For example if the string is "abbacc" then it will return true as there are two of each character.  However if the string is "ababc" it will return false as there is only 1 c.  Thanks for any help

I have a form with some dropdownlist that get populated dynamically(depends on what the user chooses) with jquery and an xml file. In the form I have a button that takes the info and populates another form with the values of the ddl. I have coded script which populates the second form with jquery and the name of each input get dynamically added like so:

What I want to do is grab the name of the element and remove the underscore and everything else form rileft to right so I am left with just the word before the underscore. I tried using substr($key,0,-28) but that wont work since everything after the underscore will have a different length. I was wondering if there is a way i can keep everything before the underscore and remove the underscore and everything after that.

I have a kind of search and react on my site. The user can search for a number in a column as below

The code works fine but I want to expand the function to get match for other numbers also. The oemnr column today can be 12345 which shows up if the user type 12.... 

I want to expand the oemnr column as

12345/03124/34713, numbers separated with / or another character.

If the user type 03... or 34... I want to find and show 12345 because it is on the same row and corresponds to the numbers on the same row. Is it possible to do in mysql? In php that kind of operation can be done with the explode function but I don't know how to use with mysql.

I have a bad way with words, so if the title doesnt make much sense nor my post, I apolagize!

But I am using a while loop and mysql_fetch_array to echo all information in a table in mysql.

With each entry, I have included a button that executes a delete query for that entry.

I figured Id use delete from the username, so that way mysql will know which one to delete... but Idk when I think about it thats dumb and makes no sense. Im stuck.

This side of the application im trying to make is the admin side where I can process requests. After I process the request I delete it from the database so I know I processed it. I have no idea what query to use for this.

Anybody know how I could do this?

I'm just trying to get suggestions on what people think would be the best way to go with this. With the bottom part of this card where it s tarts working with the foreach loop its taking what was a UL and for each of each LI's and updating a table with its new data however this way isn't going to work as this is editing a user. Because there could be 5 in the database but the new edit user has only 4 lis so I'm sure you could all see the issue here. What I'm thinking would be best is to have it DELETE the existing characterIDs that have WHERE handler_ID = $handlerID and then just do a new INSERT statement. Anyone else think this would be the best way to go about this?

I am able to echo the id but I must be entering the post item incorrectly into the delete string.

I want to delete some .png files from the ./tmp folder and I receive a rm error:

The rm -rf command sintax is ok on the linux bash, but from php i receive the error.
Php safe mode is off. Can someone help, please ?
