If so? is there any pointers someone can give me as to how to learn to achieve something like this..I'd really appreciate the help! Hi Gusy, Would be great if you can help me to sort this out and Thank you in advance. I would like to hide all files with "swf" extension from my file and folder directory, I know how to hide one specific file but not ll files with same extension. For example: *.swf. Here is my code which is work for full file names but not all files with same extension. <?php $filearray = array(); if ($handle = opendir('.')) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) { if ($file != "." && $file != ".." && $file != ".htaccess" && $file != "index.php" && $file != "style.css" && $file != "Images" && $file != "*.swf" && $file != "index.html") { $filearray[] = $file; } } closedir($handle); natcasesort($filearray); foreach($filearray as $f) { $thelist .= '<img width="15" height="15" alt="[DIR]" src="/Images/folder.jpg"> <a href="'.$f.'">'.$f.'</a> '; } } ?> As you can see I have "&& $file != "*.swf"" which need your advise in this part. I just want people not seeing all .SWF files in the index directory of my server. I have already have index.html inside my folder as well which has been hided because of "$file != "index.html"". But this is not hiding my ".SWF" files. Many Thanks. Hi all, So I've nearly finished coding my first website. Currently all the files are in the same directory on my harddrive, but I now want to create a proper folder structure that will be secure. I have been reading up on this a lot on various websites, but it seems like most articles on this topic are targetted at developers with much more complicated websites than mine, and it's all a bit over my head. My website is quite simple, it consists of the following: 1) html files and php files that print something to the screen that I want to be accessible to the user by typing in the url in the browser. 2) html and php files that are called upon by 1, they either print something to the screen inside an iframe or not at all - I want these files to be accessible only to 1) and not directly to the user by typing the url 3) image files and includes, etc. (and also 4) a MySQL database, but maybe this doesn't really have anything to do with the website folder structure.) What should my directory structure be and where should I put 1), 2), 3), etc.? Thanks a lot! My very first post..... please be gentle. Question 1: Why does this work? - include("./includes/constants.php"); Ok here goes - I have a website which was written in php. I did not write it and the person who did was new to php and programming - as am I. I have the job of completing it. It was written trying to follow an OO model. I have a class 'Database.php' which handles the DB connection side of things. Pretty standard stuff. This database class 'includes' a file called 'constants.php' which stores the DB_SERVER, DB_USER, DB_PASS and DB_NAME properties. HERE IS THE CATCH. The includes statement says: include("./includes/constants.php"); I dont understand the single dot and have not yet used it. The site works fine - with the exception that my forms do not work. The site pulls data, images, urls from the database so it obviously connects ok. The constants.php file is located up one level then in the includes folder. ie include("../includes/constants.php"); If I add a second dot ( ../ )it breaks - even though the path is correct with 2 dots. I dont get it. Question 2: So to add insult to injury when I leave it as a single dot (if it aint broke, dont fix it) and try to post a form I get these error messages: Warning: include(./includes/constants.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/******/public_html/development/classes/database.php on line 2 Warning: include(./includes/constants.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/******/public_html/development/classes/database.php on line 2 Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening './includes/constants.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/******/public_html/development/classes/database.php on line 2 I am a total newb at this but my english tells me that all of a sudden it is looking for my constants.php file in a total new path either :/usr/lib/php or usr/local/lib/php. Is there something special about 'includes'? I have used requires and require_once etc for other included files (in this website) without any path drama. I am using cPanel and I dont even see those directories - /usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php. I hope I didnt put anyone to sleep. Both of these seem like simple problems, but I have tried and failed. Thanks for your help. Hi guys, I've been working on a script for a while now, and I'm sure it doesn't look great and all, and it's probably really messed up.. But right now I've finally got it working! There's only 1 thing I'd really like to add.. Searching through & listing of remote directories! The directories I'm trying to list have directory listings enabled, and I think it *should* be possible. I just have no clue how. Here's my current code in a beautiful mix of HTML and PHP: <? $border_size = "0"; function returner($what) { $what=explode("/",$what); $tps=count($what); $what=$what[$tps-1]; return $what; } $page_url= ""; $home_url=returner(__FILE__); if(isset($_GET['q'])) { $qtext=$_GET['q']; } else { $qtext=""; } function getdirsize($directory, $format=FALSE) { $size = 0; if(substr($directory,-1) == '/') { $directory = substr($directory,0,-1); } if(!file_exists($directory) || !is_dir($directory) || !is_readable($directory)) { return -1; } if($handle = opendir($directory)) { while(($file = readdir($handle)) !== false) { $path = $directory.'/'.$file; if($file != '.' && $file != '..') { if(is_file($path)) { $size += filesize($path); } elseif(is_dir($path)) { $handlesize = getdirsize($path); if($handlesize >= 0) { $size += $handlesize; } else { return -1; } } } } closedir($handle); } if($format == TRUE) { if($size / 1048576 > 1) { return round($size / 1048576, 1).' MB'; } elseif($size / 1024 > 1) { return round($size / 1024, 1).' Thanks in advance. Edit; It might help if you know what the site currently looks like. *Click* hi i am working on a project in which i have to retrieve the articles which are the most visited by the users. i have serched the internet but not find any useful code snippets. can any one guide me how to solve this problem. am currently building the cart system of a product, now there is this part wherein, the non-logged-in OR logged-in user should also be able to see the items that he/she viewed, how to do that?., am not asking for code snippets , just give me some ideas/hints/strategies/tips that may help me get the big picture on how to do this thing and proceed coding. So, you know how on forums (including this one) the icon of a topic/forum will be greyed out if your account viewed that topic's latest post, regardless of which computer you viewed it on? How exactly does it store that? I know that logically it would store it on the Database, but I'm curious as to the actual implementation. It seems to me that storing every single topic you viewed it and when would take up huge numbers of rows, even for a small number of people, like say 100. If you have a forum with 1000's of people, each viewing even 3 topics a day, you're record numbers would be huge, slowing down the database. And calling your last viewed time for each and ever topic? Wouldn't that slow down the code excecution heaps? If you have any input, I'd love to hear it. It's a question I've been wrestling with in the back of my mind for a few years now Hello everyone I wonder if you could help me. I want to create a function called <?php function mythings($what) Which would allow me to pass an ID number to, such as <?php mythings(5419); What I want to do with that function is store the ID numbers of the past 6 items I have viewed, but I want to store each item as a SESSION once it has been passed. So essentially I would end up with the following 6 SESSIONS <?php $_SESSION['item1']; $_SESSION['item2']; $_SESSION['item3']; $_SESSION['item4']; $_SESSION['item5']; $_SESSION['item6']; So the "item1" SESSION would be the latest item ID passed through the function But then if I then passed a new ID through the function, that new ID passed would then become $_SESSION['item1']; and the current SESSION $_SESSION['item1']; would become $_SESSION['item2']; and $_SESSION['item2']; would become $_SESSION['item3']; and so on. This means I can do a list such as <?php print "Item 1".$_SESSION['item1']."<br>"; print "Item 2".$_SESSION['item2']."<br>"; print "Item 3".$_SESSION['item3']."<br>"; print "Item 4".$_SESSION['item4']."<br>"; print "Item 5".$_SESSION['item5']."<br>"; print "Item 6".$_SESSION['item6']."<br>"; ?> Does that make much sense? Can anyone help. Thanks very much all John Hi Guys, I have a script that shows the user of my shop what they have looked at. I was wondering if someone can tell me how I can limit this so it only lists 10 and no more. Here is the code: Code: [Select] if(RECENTVIEWED ==1) { if(isset($_COOKIE['jimbeam'])){ $productUrl = SITE_URL."ecom/index.php?action=ecom.pdetails&mode="; $productUrl = $this->libFunc->m_safeUrl($productUrl); foreach ($_COOKIE['jimbeam'] as $name => $value) { $this->obDb->query="SELECT vTitle FROM ".PRODUCTS." WHERE vSeoTitle = '".$value."'"; $rsProd = $this->obDb->fetchQuery(); $this->obTpl->set_var("TPL_VAR_PRODUCTTITLE",stripslashes($rsProd[0]->vTitle)); $this->obTpl->set_var("TPL_VAR_PRODUCTURL",$productUrl.$value); $this->obTpl->parse("recent_blk","TPL_RECENT_BLK",true); } $this->obTpl->parse("mainrecent_blk","TPL_MAINRECENT_BLK"); } } Thanks, Jordan Hello people i have a system that takes people to generated pages from the database, the user has a field to input a video and others watching videos will get redirecting to tht video in time, what i want to know is how can i tell if a user viewed the page so to stop them getting redirected to it again by my random video query? The link always is video.php?id=blabla the id changes every refresh, so i can call that id to check if there on the page but how can i tell if they have been on it before. i have made an delete files script which works for only one directory but not sub directory so i want to delete files of same extention from directory and subdirectory. My current code is Code: [Select] <? $dir = 'hmm/'; function scanr($dir){ $arr = glob($dir.'/*.jpg'); foreach($arr as $vv){ //check if $vv is a file if(is_file($vv)){ //if file, get the filename $vx=explode('/',$vv); $file=$vx[count($vx)-1]; // if no extension delete the file unlink($vv); // print the deletion message echo $vv." deleted!<br>";}else{ // if $vv is a dir then scan it again for files scanr($vv); }} } scanr($dir); ?> This script ...

I'm pulling data from db for given day, and display them in a table. After, as extra feature, I'm running a quick query checking how many record are in the db for given day and dispaying result. The count works correctly - it shows the actual number of records in db, but the first part of the code - the listing of record - always skips the first record. So the count returns i.e. 7 record, but on the listing shows only 6. Here's the listing part of the code. Also you might notice a bit "messy" use of odbc_fetch_row and odbc_fetch_array, but that had to do with controlling situation when there was no records in db - I'll clean it up later Any ideas or solutions welcomed echo "<table border=0 class=\"report-font-table\"><tr bgcolor=#CCCCCC><td><b>MODEL</b></td><td><b>SERIAL NUMBER</b></td><td><b>INSPECTOR</b></td><td><b>COMMENTS/FAILS</b></td></tr>"; $MySQL1 = 'select Model, Serial_no, Inspector, Comment from CM_Audit where Date=#'.$new_date.'#'; $MyCon=odbc_connect('SQA_Typewriter','','') ; // use the SQA_Typewriter ODBC $result=odbc_exec($MyCon,$MySQL1); $check1=odbc_fetch_array($result); if (!empty($check1)) { while (odbc_fetch_row($result)) { echo "<tr> <td>".odbc_result($result,"Model")."</td> <td >".odbc_result($result,"Serial_no")."</td> <td >".odbc_result($result,"Inspector")."</td> <td >".odbc_result($result,"Comment")."</td> </tr>"; } echo "</table>"; odbc_close($MyCon); } else { echo "</table><p style=font-weight:bold;color:006699>No audits have been carried out on this day.</p>"; } I am running a search query from MYSQL and it works, but now I want to get a little custom. I am selecting one field, out of many called paid1 which in database is either Yes or No. I want to do this: if paid1 is NO display Pay Now and everything else display Yes. I want this to be under new heading of paid1b. So the code should look something like this: $paid1b= if(['paid1'}==No){echo "Pay Now";} else {echo "YES";} But I am missing something somewhere. What is it? Thanks if ($TypeOfPage == 'englandtrinityhouse' || 'welshtrinityhouse' || 'channelislandstrinityhouse'){ $Op = '<input type="text" name="Operator" value="Trinity House" class="Operator">'; } else { if ($TypeOfPage == 'northernlighthouseboard'){ $Op = '<input type="text" name="Operator" value="Northern Lighthouse Board" class="Operator">'; } else { $Op = '<input type="text" name="Operator" class="Operator">'; } } This code always echos the first option when echo'd. Ive checked the var is different each time, eg 'northernlighthouseboard' or 'private'. Anyone care to explain?! danny |
