PHP - Storing Current Date And Time In Datetime Format
I have a field called date_time in the database which is of type datetime.
I have a form which on submit needs to enter the current date and time in the date_time field. I know I can get the current time using time() $time=time(); Can do I do some kind of manipulation using strtotime() and store in the database in datetime format? Similar TutorialsI am building a new web app and want to make sure I do everything right from the beginning. What is the best method of storing the date and time into a database using PHP along with the table field settings? I'm looking to enter the current time and date into a mysql database using php. My current code looks like this: Code: [Select] $now = date("m/d/y",time()); I then insert $now into the table into a datetime column. This all works but the time when read from the column appears as 0000-00-00 00:00:00. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to make $time be a variable with the current time and I want it to have the same format as mysql. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong here Wrror: Warning: date_format() expects parameter 1 to be DateTime, integer given Code: [Select] $time = date_format(time(),'Y-m-d H:i:s'); I want the current date to be displayed in this format: year-month-day hr:min:sec Suggest me some functions or codings Hi, I have noticed on my print order section in my cart that the date/time is in US format ie. there is an entry that calls up "date_purchased" and places this in the following format %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S I have searched all the text in my online shop and I have located the code i believe is responsible under \includes\classes\nusoap.php This is in the following entry return strftime('%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S', $sec) . '.' . sprintf('%06d', $usec); My question is can i change this code to either of the following without causing any damage else where in the site? I am not sure if it needs the %H:%M:%S', $sec entry here for anything??? Can i do.. return strftime ('%d-%m-%Y %H:%M:%S', $sec) or return strftime ('%d-%m-%Y ) without it causing issues in the code? Many Thanks, Hi all, I am working on my PHP script to set up the date with the time for the autoresponder so I can send out the emails at the specific time. I need some help with set up the correct day date with the time, because on my code when I have two different times `06:00` and `20:00`, as both of them will show the time with the current day date, e.g: 28-11-2019. I find that my code have set up the date as incorrect because the time I have `06:00` which it should have set up with the next day date, e.g 29-11-2019 instead of 28-11-2019 and the time `20:00` should set up with the current day date as my current time is `15:26pm` right now.
2019-11-25 06:00
06:00
$auto_responders = $link->prepare('SELECT * FROM autoresponder WHERE campaign = ? ORDER BY id ASC'); $auto_responders->execute([$campaign]); $auto_responders->setFetchMode(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); $auto_responders = $auto_responders->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); $get_time = $auto_responders['send_time']; if ($get_time >= strtotime('00:00')) { $autoresponder_date = date('Y-m-d', strtotime($get_time . ' +1 day')); } else { $autoresponder_date = date('Y-m-d', strtotime($get_time)); } $send_time = $autoresponder_date . ' '. date('H:i ', strtotime($get_time));
Can you please show me an example how I can set up the day date for the time `06:00` and `20:00` as if I have the time is `06:00` then check if the time have passed before I could do anything to send the email and it is the same for the time `20:00:00`? Thank you.
Hi, I'm trying to insert this $inceptiondate = date("Y-m-d 12:00:00"); to the database, the Y-m-d does make it to database, but the 12:00pm doesn't. Whenever it reaches the database, it becomes 00:00:00 Where did I got wrong? Thanks Hi, I have a problem. i want to show the current date and time in my tables of the database. I want to show it because i want to show it on my report generated in php. By the way i do not have a "date" field in my form. Can anyone help me out? Thanks, Heshan. I just ran into grief while trying to store a DateTime object in the SESSION variable. When I tried to use the stored value I got the error message "The DateTime object has not been correctly initialized by its constructor." I initially assumed that objects can't be stored in SESSION because there's no way to serialize and deserialize them for storage between scripts. But I've found posts by other people who have done this with without problems. If it works for others, why isn't it working for me? Is there something special about the DateTime class that prevents the PHP engine from serializing it? Here's a little script that demonstrates the problem (in PHP 5.2.5 under Windows XP): Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); if ( key_exists( 'd', $_SESSION ) ) { $d = $_SESSION['d']; echo "<br/>The value of 'd' is " . $d->format('m/d/Y'); } else { echo "'d' has no value yet."; } $d = new DateTime('2011-08-01'); $_SESSION['d'] = $d; $e = $_SESSION['d']; echo "<br/>The value of 'd' has been set to " . $e->format('m/d/Y'); ?> The first time the script is run it does not display "The value of 'd' is..." because $_SESSION['d'] does not exist. It sets the value, then retrieves it intact and displays it. The second time the script is run it tries to retireve the value but apparently gets an invalid one and displays the error. Then it sets, retrieves, and displays the value again. Hello!! i want to save datetimes into a mysql database. Their format is dd-mm-yy hh:mm. I think mysql format for datetime is yy-mm-dd hh:mm..How can i convert them?? Alright, I have a Datetime field in my database which I'm trying to store information in. Here is my code to get my Datetime, however it's returning to me the wrong date. It's returning: 1969-12-31 19:00:00 $mysqldate = date( 'Y-m-d H:i:s', $phpdate ); $phpdate = strtotime( $mysqldate ); echo $mysqldate; Is there something wrong with it? I have multiple datetimes. The format is dd-mm-yy, hh:mm. I want to insert it into a table using mysql. However mysql format is yy-mm-dd, hh:mm:ss. How can i do it and what type should i use (datetime?timestamp?). Thanks for your help!!
Hello All, function convertTimeFormat($time12Hour) { // Initialized required variable to an empty string. $time24Hour = ""; // Used explode() function to break the string into an array and stored its value in $Split variable. $Split = explode(":",$time12Hour); // print_r(explode (":", $time12Hour)); => Array ( [0] => 09 [1] => 50 [2] => 08AM ) // Retrieved only "hour" from the array and stored in $Hour variable. $Hour = $Split[0]; $Split[2] = substr($Split[2],0,2); // Used stripos() function to find the position of the first occurrence of a string inside another string. if($Hour == '12' && strpos($time12Hour,"AM")!== FALSE) { // Code here } elseif(strpos($time12Hour,"PM")!== FALSE && $Hour != "12") { // code here } return $time24Hour; } $time12Hour = "09:50:08AM"; $result = convertTimeFormat($time12Hour); print_r($result); /* Input : "09:50:08AM"; Output : "21:50:08PM"; */
Hey, I'm using a script which allows you to click on a calendar to select the date to submit to the database. The date is submitted like this: 2014-02-08 Is there a really simple way to prevent rows showing if the date is in the past? Something like this: if($currentdate < 2014-02-08 || $currentdate == 2014-02-08) { } Thanks very much, Jack Hey guys, How would I go about subtracting Today from a previous day to find the difference? For example, I want to subtract TODAY from a previous date in my database, to determine if the difference is greater than 1 day. Any ideas? I tried doing the subraction in TIMESTAMPS, but when I convert the date back to Y-m-d H:i:s, I got some weird year and time. I'm having trouble inserting a formatted PHP DateTime into a MySQL table. I'm getting: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ',2012-01-31)' at line 4 I get the error when I try to insert the date as a string from a DateTime object via: $insertDate = $date->format('Y-m-d'); As well as when I try to recast it as a date object: $insertDate = date("Y-m-d",strtotime($date->format('Y-m-d'))); I've also tried putting the date in ' ' 's and escaped " " 's. My insert query is: $insert = "INSERT INTO pendingordersdetails (PartNumber,Oqty,Pqty,Aqty,PartStatus, PartPrice,idOrderNo,PrtTariffCode,PrtLocation,LineNum,PKqty,SPqty,AllocationDate) VALUES ('$partNum',$oQty,0,$aQty,'Excess',$price,$orderNum,'$tariffCode', '$location',$lineNum,$PKqty,$SPqty,'$allocDate');"; and the echoed output is: INSERT INTO pendingordersdetails (PartNumber,Oqty,Pqty,Aqty,PartStatus, PartPrice,idOrderNo,PrtTariffCode,PrtLocation,LineNum,PKqty,SPqty,AllocationDate) VALUES ('0446535240 ',3,0,1,'Excess',163.89,66,' ', 'A0406E01',2,,,'2012-01-31'); Anyone have any ideas? (continuing from topic title) So if I set a date of July 7 2011 into my script, hard coded in, I would like the current date to be checked against the hard coded date, and return true if the current date is within a week leading up to the hard coded date. How could I go about doing this easily? I've been researching dates in php but I can't seem to work out the best way to achieve what I'm after. Cheers Denno What I'm basically trying to accomplish is, that the datetime of the user posted information is registered with the Now() function in the query, BUT that the user entered information gets echo'd out with the Date showing ONLY. What I have is this: -Just as an example- INSERT INTO db (date_created) VALUES (now()) while ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($data)) { echo '<tr><td>' . $row['date_created'] . '</td></tr>'; } mysqli_close($dbc); With this way of course I get Date and Time showcased just like it's inserted into the DB. What would be a legit way of showcasing just date. Thanks for help. EDIT: or is there a better way than using now() to showcase the date when the user entered information was posted? Hi there,
I'm a bit of a newbie and I have done a search online, but i'm still confused.
I need to search my MYSQL database in a filed named date_mod I need to search for todays date only $date=gmdate("Y-m-d");
But however the field is a datetime option so how can I search only todays date and not both date and time.
Thank you for reading.
I have tried a large number of "solutions" to this but everytime I use them I see 0000-00-00 in my date field instead of the date even though I echoed and can see that the date looks correct. Here's where I'm at: I have a drop down for the month (1-12) and date fields (1-31) as well as a text input field for the year. Using the POST array, I have combined them into the xxxx-xx-xx format that I am using in my field as a date field in mysql. <code> $date_value =$_POST['year'].'-'.$_POST['month'].'-'.$_POST['day']; echo $date_value; </code> This outputs 2012-5-7 in my test echo but 0000-00-00 in the database. I have tried unsuccessfully to use in a numberof suggested versions of: strtotime() mktime Any help would be extremely appreciated. I am aware that I need to validate this data and insure that it is a valid date. That I'm okay with. I would like some help on getting it into the database. |
