PHP - How Do I Compare 2 Random Numbers To Entries In A Table

Hello all, I am newbie to php programming, any suggestions or advance greatly appreciated.

I can't figure out how to output two array random numbers in ascending order.

but I need to change it so that they are all unique and the same number is not used more than once

hi, I am trying to create 7 lines, out of 49 numbers, each line must have unique numbers not seen in any other line so that every number out of 49 has been used in one of those lines, I also need them to be in order, lowest to highest except for the last number which needs to be completely any random ( as long as its not elsewhere in the 7 lines and its one of 49)

I have made an attempt,

What I'm trying to do is create a script that generates a random list of cars whenever it is run. I have a list of available cars in a MySQL database. I'm just not sure how to get php to generate a list of, say, 20 cars, that are randomly picked from the cars in the database. I may also want to add other statistics like MPG (also already in the database). Can anyone show me how to do this? And is it possible to format the returned data in a table or div format?

  I have attached here with a schema, of MySql DB format i am refering to for the topic i need help on.

I want to know what is the best way to achieve this problem / task.

I have a profile table, and a category table, and a table to map profiles to category.
Which allows me to define/add into the category_profile_mapping table, profile ids against a category id.

Each category can have anywhere between 2 to 1,00,000 profiles mapped to it.

I have another table called sms_out. hence on the site, when i select a category and submit the form value with message, i want to know what is the best way to populate sms_out with MSISDN from the table "Profile" and the message from the form.
The list of MSISDN will be based on the category id selected, hence the profile id's will be available in the category_profile_mapping table.

I am bad at explaining the problem, however incase you folks need more info do let me know. i shall be glad to provide the same to .. all of you guys who are willing to help me

PS:  I am asking this question, cuz i want to knw the best solution to achieve this, when there is entries in millions to be done at one form submit.

I have a database (mysql). In the database is a table with categories (categories_id, categories_name etc).

I also have another table (products table) which gets filled using a html form. That table holds category info too.

What I am trying to do (without any luck) is when the form is processed, it will populate the table with the new data, then I need it to compare the 2 tables to see if the category fields from both tables have a match. If there is a match in the tables then send an email to people who has asked to be notified when new product has been added that matches a particular criteria.

For example, if someone adds a product to the category 'Landscapers', with a location 'Dorset'... I would like to be able to email all the registered tradespeople in Dorset about the new product.

I know this should be something quite simple, but I cant seem to get my head around it. Any pointers would be fantastic.

Hi, this is what I want to get working: each time I add an entry, it is displayed in a nice html table, and each entry listed in this html table has an UPDATE link that allows the user to update the Price and Description field of the corresponding table in my database. I have also included an upload element which whenever a user chooses an image, it will replace the default fileUploadIcon.jpg with this. Here is one of those purely conceptual questions, which involves no code.  I'm trying to create a select query which among other things, allows a user of a website to search other members who fall within a particular age range.  I have a column in the table where the members' information are stored which records their ages.  Which brings us to the problem.  On any given day, a member's age may increase by one year compared to what it was the previous day, hence the need to update this column periodically.  I can't think of any way to automatically update this column on a daily basis.  So my solution is to run an initial update query every time a member tries to search other members based on age, which updates the age column for all other members, before running the select query which eventually retrieves the desired age range.  This leads to the second problem.  Imagine there are thousands of users using the website.  At any given instance, there could be hundreds of members, trying to search others based on age.  This means hundreds of users will be updating a single column (the age column) in one table at the same time.  Is this feasible? Can it cause the server to crash? Or is there really a more reasonable way to do all of this? Thank you all for taking your time to read this. Appreciate any responses.

Each of the following fields has 5 digits e.g. 00045, 12654, etc.

What I need to achieve is this:

Concatenate each set (of the 3 sets above) data into one variable e.g. old_code_1 + old_code_2 = 0004512654. So old_code_1 & old_code_2 would become a combined data and the same for the othe 2 sets.

Then. Once concatenated, I need to compa prod_code_1+prod_code_2 with old_code_1+old_code_2 and replace prod_code_1+prod_code_2 with new_code_1+new_code_2 where matches are found.

The new_code_1 & 2 are in the same row as the old_code 1 & 2. So the data is in alignment that way for comparison.

Thanks for any insight or suggestions on how to make this happen in the simplest form possible.

I need to compare records in a table based on the 'datetime' field, like if the difference between time is less than 15min.

need to combine the records(rows) as a single resultant row until the time difference between them  is less than 15min and when a record's time difference is >15min that should return as another row and so on. Please find following sample table and the required output format

You can see 1st row in the output table having IDs 1,2,3,4 coz the time difference between them is less than 15minutes (it doesn't means time difference between start and end; it is actually the  time difference between current record and previous one ; ie; ID-1 and ID-2 have difference less than 15min and ID-2 & ID-3 have difference less than 15min and ID-3 & ID-4 have difference less than 15min, so those 4 records combine together as a single row also shows their start time and end time. Then you can see diff between ID-4 and ID-5 is greater than 15 min so it should display as new row, and so on)

How can I acheive above Output with mysql query ??

Now, I want to generate an html table where these elements should be distributed in a random and unique way while leaving some entries of the table empty, see the picture below. So I want to create a table with php and html that outputs a 10x10 table with numbers from 0 to 99 and differentiating prime numbers:

The problem is that every time it checks prime numbers from 0 to 99 it prints it in every '<tr>'. Ty in advance for the help!
