PHP - Creating Images In Php

Well, after uploading the following php file to the server and testing it, I got this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function pdf_new() in /home/caresa6/public_html/BubblyBounce.com/admin/pdftest.php on line 2

I am trying to create a madlibs game ..

I have a txt file with paragraphs in it .. Some of the sentences have the following tags in it <#noun>, or <#verb>, etc ...

I need to parse the file in php and display the content in between the tags to the user.

The user can fill the the words in text box, and the story will be displayed with the new words instead of the tags.

I am new to php. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have decided to try and write some OO php.

I have a simple class with one function. I am trying to instantiate an object of that class using the new operator but get an error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in C:\wamp\www\School\addcourse.php on line 38

Hi All I have a a directory website but numereous listings don't have their own website so they are requesting a single page to show a summary of their business and products. I know how to do most of it the part I am unsure of is: I have a form where they upload text, images, etc to a database and upload the images. what I would like to do is to save it as a file under a subdirectory. Write a  class for feeding a horse. The Horse object should keep track of the last time it was fed and calculate when it is hungry. Assume there is another class that checks the horse every 10 minutes to see if it is hungry and if it is, it calls another method which feeds it. There should be about 3 methods on the class, but more can be added if needed.

I'm developing an iPhone app that's going to need data from a MySQL database, it's just a simple list of my bands upcoming gigs.

So I understand that I need to build an API - I've found some scripts here and there, I just need some advice as to 'what' I should build...JSON? XML? something else?

I don't know anything about it and cant really find anything that will tell me.

Hopefully, If I can get a good method going I will be able to use it for various other app ideas.

Can anyone guide me on how to create thumbnails with php/gd. I'm trying to use gd to create thumbnails and then store in in my server. I'm currently using a function in my script, but some thumbnails come out black.

Does anybody know a good tutorial for creating thumbnails for these three file extensions "jpg, gif and png" in PHP?   I am only finding ones for "jpg".

I am trying to open as many sockets I can against my mail server to test if it is prown to attack.

I have tried to create 2000 sockets, but I can't seem to get it working and wondering if anyone knows whats going on?
