PHP - Help With Woking With Multiple Tables For Populating An Update Form For Users...
Similar TutorialsOk, so I've spent quite a bit of time piecing together this solution from a variety of sources. As such, I may have something in my code below that doesn't make sense or isn't neccessary. Please let me know if that is the case. I'm creating an administrative form that users will you to add/remove items from a MySQL table that lists open positions for a facility. The foreach loop generates all of the possible job specialties from a table called 'specialty_list'. This table is joined to a second table ('open_positions') that lists any positions that have been selected previously. Where I'm stuck is getting the checkbox to be checked if the facility_ID from the open_positions table matches the $id passed in the URL via ?facility_id=''. Here's where I am so far: $query = "SELECT specialty_list.specialty_displayname , specialty_shortname , open_positions.position , facility_ID FROM specialty_list LEFT OUTER JOIN open_positions ON open_positions.position = specialty_list.specialty_shortname ORDER BY specialty_list.specialty_shortname"; $results = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($results)) { $positions[$row['specialty_shortname']] = $row['specialty_displayname']; } echo "<form method='POST' action='checkbox.php'>"; foreach($positions as $specialty_shortname => $specialty_displayname) { $facility_ID = $row['facility_ID']; $checked = $facility_ID == $row['facility_ID'] ? ' checked' : ''; echo "<input type='checkbox' name='position[]' value=\"{$specialty_shortname}\"{$checked}> {$specialty_displayname}</input><br/>"; } echo "<input type='hidden' name='facility_ID' value='$id'>"; echo "<input type='submit' value='Submit Checkboxes!'>"; echo "</form>"; Any ideas how to get this working? I feel like I'm very close, but I just can't get it. I also tried starting from scratch with a WHILE statement instead of a FOREACH, but haven't tweaked it enough to prevent duplicate checkboxes. With that in mind, here it is, just in case that's a better direction: $query = "SELECT specialty_list.specialty_displayname , specialty_shortname , open_positions.position , facility_ID FROM specialty_list LEFT OUTER JOIN open_positions ON open_positions.position = specialty_list.specialty_shortname ORDER BY specialty_list.specialty_shortname"; $results = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); echo "<form method='POST' action='checkbox.php'>"; while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($results)) { $facility_ID = $row['facility_ID']; $specialty_shortname = $row['specialty_shortname']; $specialty_displayname = $row['specialty_displayname']; if ($facililty_ID==$id) { $checked=' checked'; } echo "<input type='checkbox' name='position[]' value=\"$specialty_shortname\"$checked> $specialty_displayname</input><br/>"; } echo "<input type='hidden' name='facility_ID' value='$id'>"; echo "<input type='submit' value='Submit Checkboxes!'>"; echo "</form>"; Need help in updating the tables I have array of data coming from a form which I'm inserting in my DB. I have 5 tables product filter product_filter heater product_heater Im able to put the data in the "product", "filter" & "heater" tables but i dont know how to put data inside the "product_filter" & "product_heater" table. Its fairly straightforward and going well.. However ive been thinking about how it will work and have stumbled across a possible problem (because of my limited craft at programming). I want to have a single form that updates all records in the tables, this would simulate an "end of turn" button. Im sure i can do this if doing stuff in the game (e.g. move, create , modify, delete, fleets/ships and auto increment ships hulls simulating repair) if it was done on the same page. However i wanted to to initiate some of these adjustments in their respective pages (fleet.php, planets.php, ships.php etc) and then once the user is happy to click the end turn button somewhere which would update all of these things at the same time.. Is this possible at all??? If anybody could help that would be brilliant. Thank you p.s. if anybody wants a copy of the finished product when its complete, your most welcome. Ok, so i got this website project dropped in my lap, and I'm stuck not really having done much php coding ever. I have a database which is linked already, and it was working when pulling data from a specific table. The problem arose when I was asked to make it work with other tables. I have a table with the table names in it, and the drop down field to select the table populates. The next field is a multiple select field that is supposed to populate report dates from the previously selected table, and then finally the last multiple select field is supposed to populate with names that match the dates selected from the previous field. The last one I can live without, as the existing code takes into account if the name selected doesn't exist in the table with the selected date, but at the moment the date field just comes up blank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi guys. I am working on an update function which edits users of the admin area of my website. The functions works well to certain extend. I need to make sure that when a user is updated that a repeat username is not used, and display a message that a particular user already exist. I have that functionality in my function, however, this part of the code is not executed and I keep getting the error message: Duplicate entry 'b' for key 'username'. I also need to keep intact any part of the content that's not updated, i.e., password not changed, etc. Here's the code: Code: [Select] function editUser($userUsername, $userPassword, $userEmail, $userRealname, $id){ //select users to see if they exist $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM authorized_users WHERE username='$userUsername' ") or die(mysql_error()) ; if (mysql_num_rows($query) >= 1 ) { /* Username already exists */ echo "<p><p><span class='current_admin'>Username already exists</span>"; echo '<p>Please <a href="javascript:history.go(-1)">Go Back</a> and complete the form<br>'; echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="8; URL=users_authorized.php">'; } else { /* Username doesn't exist */ $query = mysql_query("UPDATE authorized_users SET username ='$userUsername', password = '$userPassword', email='$userEmail', realname='$userRealname' ") or die (mysql_error()); echo '<p><p><b> 1 User Added</b>'; echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="4; URL=users_authorized.php">'; } } Thanks in advance for your help. When I process the update it gives me a success message but the data in the table is not updated at all. Any suggestions on what im doing wrong here? I have read around and can't seem to find the right coding for what I need on this forum and some other other forums. I have a contact form (as listed below) and I need 2 locations (Print Name and Title) fields to auto-populate on a separate form (can be a doc, pdf, etc. any form of document which is easiest) and this form can be totally back end and the individual using the form never is going to see the form. It's going on a contract form, that we would like to auto-populate. Also is there a simple attachment code so individuals can attach documents to the code? <p style: align="center"><form action="mailtest.php" method="POST"> <?php $ipi = getenv("REMOTE_ADDR"); $httprefi = getenv ("HTTP_REFERER"); $httpagenti = getenv ("HTTP_USER_AGENT"); ?> <input type="hidden" name="ip" value="<?php echo $ipi ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="httpref" value="<?php echo $httprefi ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="httpagent" value="<?php echo $httpagenti ?>" /> <div align="center"> <p class="style1">Name</p> <input type="text" name="name"> <p class="style1">Address</p> <input type="text" name="address"> <p class="style1">Email</p> <input type="text" name="email"> <p class="style1">Phone</p> <input type="text" name="phone"> <p class="style1">Debtor</p> <input type="text" name="debtor"> <p class="style1">Debtor Address</p> <input type="text" name="debtora"> <br /> <br /> <a href="authoforms.php" target="_blank" style="color:#ffcb00" vlink="#ffcb00">Click here to view Assignment Agreement and Contract Agreement</a> <p class="style1"><input type='checkbox' name='chk' value='I Have read and Agree to the terms.'> I have read and agree to the Assignment and Contract Agreement <br></p> <p class="style1">Print Name</p> <input type="text" name="pname"> <p class="style1">Title</p> <input type="text" name="title"> <p class="style1">I hear by agree that the information I have provided is true, accurate and the information I am submitting is <br /> not fraudulent. Now what I want to do is, log all these entries to a mySQL database and also, display these rows over the site. i.e., any user who is online, should be seeing this without having to refresh the page too.. Real time updates in a way. How can I achieve that? Thanks! Hey All, Been banging my head into the wall on this one. I have 2 tables one for users 'myMembers' and one for products 'products'. Each table has a auto increment id. The myMembers id is the user id and the products table id is for the product id. I have a row in the products table for agent_id. I would like the agent_id to be filled with the id from the myMembers table. I took a look at the manual; still do not understand how to take the id from the myMembers table then place that id into the agent_id; so the products(id) can be listed under the specific members id(agent_id) in the products table. So far my script for the products table inserts items correctly, but does not file under the specific agent_id. Here is the script for entering items to the products table. Thanks for the guidance! <?php // Script Error Reporting error_reporting(E_ALL); ini_set('display_errors', '1'); ?> <?php // Delete Item Question to Admin, and Delete Product if they choose if (isset($_GET['deleteid'])) { echo 'Do you really want to delete product with ID of ' . $_GET['deleteid'] . I just realized...what happens if 10 users are trying to fwrite to one file at once? that is how i store my usernames passwords signatures and all that jazz. If users cant all fwrite at once my site is not going to work AT ALL. and I might just have to give up haha. good news or bad news? Hey guys. So I'm about to start developing a Private Messaging system for a CMS that I already have set up and working fine, and I had a problem I would like to solve before I start. I would like to add a feature that allows users to send the message to one or more users at a time. Whether it be by typing in the different usernames seperated by commas in the input field or another method, I have no idea how I'd handle submitting this into the database. I don't want it to be like a group conversation though, I want it to submit the message seperately for each user they included in the receptitents field. Any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Gathering it'd be like an array of some sort but I have very little experience with arrays from forms and how to seperate them. As the title says I need help with multiple update system.. Can't really get it to work at all >.< Here's some code: $selectt = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM exercises WHERE user='" . $_SESSION["user"] . "' AND exname='" . $_GET["edit"] . "'"); echo '<form method="POST" action="exercises.php?edited">'; echo '<div id="newexx">'; while($raw = mysql_fetch_array($selectt)) { echo '<input type="text" name="up[' . $raw["id"] . I'm new to PHP, and I'm having some real difficulties with trying to re-populate a radio button selection on a form.
Basically, I'm working on a WordPress plugin which uses custom fields to create a Bet custom post type.
I need to have my form submit the user input, then re-populate it so that if the user wants to edit and update the Bet data, they don't have to fill in the whole form details again, they can just edit what they need to, and update (re-submit) the form.
I've managed to get all of the form elements re-populating, apart from a radio button. I've been trawling round the internet for most of yesterday evening and this morning, trying different things, but nothing I've found works for me.
I'd really appreciate some help if anyone knows how to do this.
Here's my code so far (non working)
<?php Hello PHP mates! I am having some doubts and I am going to share them with you so maybe someone can help. Okay, I know how to make signup and login page. And here is the problem. How to make signup page for multiple types of users? For example, type A user has its own signup form, user type B also has its own and same goes for C type of user. How can I make that? Thanks in advance PHP freaks! I'm am somewhat new to PHP and am trying to set up a website for my cousin's wedding. Her idea is to have the guests sign in with a user/pass that she provides, and once they sign in, they will be taken to a page that has their name on it (i.e. "Mr. and Mrs. So and So, you are invited...). I have come to the conclusion that I will need to make an image for each guest's name (she wants to use a font for their names that nobody will have on their computer) so what I need to know is: How do I link each user name to their own personalized webpage, where the image of their name on the next page will change based on what username is entered? I have been told to use Sessions (which I don't yet have in this code), but I'm clueless as to how to make that work for multiple users. Where do I put the coding, what does the coding look like, etc. Thanks in advance for any help! The php code I have right now is this (i'm sorry it's so long, I just don't want to leave anything out that might be important): Code: [Select] $LOGIN_INFORMATION = array( 'steve' => 'password', 'rick' => 'password', 'tom'=> 'password' ); // request login? true - show login and password boxes, false - password box only define('USE_USERNAME', true); // User will be redirected to this page after logout define('LOGOUT_URL', 'http://www.example.com/'); // time out after NN minutes of inactivity. The tables are "quotes" and "categories". $sql="SELECT q.id, q.username, q.quote, q.by, q.voteup, q.votedown, q.servtime, c.quote_id, c.label FROM quotes q LEFT OUTER JOIN categories c ON q.id = c.quote_id WHERE ( q.username LIKE '$srch' OR q.quote LIKE '$srch' OR q.`by` LIKE '$srch' OR c.label LIKE '$srch')"; The above mysql statement works and returns values..BUT if say, I search "john" and "funny", and a quote is posted by the user "john", but has a category of "funny" it will output the same quote twice. I was wondering if there was a way to see if a quote has either 1 term or both terms, if so display that quote but only display it once. Below is what the query is outputting. [100] => Array ( [id] => 100 [username] => John [quote] => new test quote blah blah [by] => John [voteup] => 0 [votedown] => 0 [servtime] => 2010-12-02 @ 16:27:03 [label] => Array ( [0] => Historic [1] => Serious [2] => Funny ) ) Here is the code in full. //// $sword = explode(" ",$search); foreach($sword as $sterm){ $srch="%".$sterm."%"; echo"$srch<br />"; $sql="SELECT q.id, q.username, q.quote, q.by, q.voteup, q.votedown, q.servtime, c.quote_id, c.label FROM quotes q LEFT OUTER JOIN categories c ON q.id = c.quote_id WHERE ( q.username LIKE '$srch' OR q.quote LIKE '$srch' OR q.`by` LIKE '$srch' OR c.label LIKE '$srch')"; $result=mysql_query($sql); while($row=mysql_fetch_object($result)){ $quote[$row->id]['id'] = $row->id; $quote[$row->id]['username'] = $row->username; $quote[$row->id]['quote'] = $row->quote; $quote[$row->id]['by'] = $row->by; $quote[$row->id]['voteup'] = $row->voteup; $quote[$row->id]['votedown'] = $row->votedown; $quote[$row->id]['servtime'] = $row->servtime; $quote[$row->id]['label'][] = $row->label; } echo"<pre>"; print_r($quote); echo"</pre>"; I don't think this is the fastest way of doing this, as it loops for each item in the db, per each keyword that is search. Any help would be great!! -BaSk I am trying to export multiple csv files to download from 2 separate tables in my database. Some background: I have a web app that links to a phpmyadmin database. There are 2 tables in the database (entering and exiting). These tables hold the phone inventory information of employees currently entering or exiting the organization. The fields in my tables a location, firstname, lastname, username, extension, mac, type What I am trying to do is export the data in these 2 tables to CSV (which I have working now) but I need to have multiple CSVs for each. For example, for my exiting table, I need to have one CSV export all the fields in the table and I also need another CSV to export just the location and username field. I have a simple html form with a submit button which is currently working now: <form action="exportexiting.php" method="POST" style="width: 456px; height: 157px"> <div> <fieldset> <legend style="width: 102px; height: 25px"><strong>Entering CSV:</strong></legend> <input name="Export" type="submit" id="Export" value="Export"> </fieldset><br/> </div> </form> This links to my exportexiting.php file: <?php $host = 'localhost'; $user = 'root'; $pass = 'xxxx'; $db = 'PhoneInventory'; $table = 'exiting'; // Connect to the database $link = mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass); mysql_select_db($db); require 'exportcsv.inc.php'; exportMysqlToCsv($table); ?> Then to exportcsv.inc.php: <?php function exportMysqlToCsv($table,$filename = 'export.csv') { $csv_terminated = "\n"; $csv_separator = ","; $csv_enclosed = ''; $csv_escaped = "\\"; $sql_query = "select * from $table"; // Gets the data from the database $result = mysql_query($sql_query); $fields_cnt = mysql_num_fields($result); $schema_insert = ''; for ($i = 0; $i < $fields_cnt; $i++) { $l = $csv_enclosed . str_replace($csv_enclosed, $csv_escaped . $csv_enclosed, stripslashes(mysql_field_name($result, $i))) . $csv_enclosed; $schema_insert .= $l; $schema_insert .= $csv_separator; } // end for $out = trim(substr($schema_insert, 0, -1)); $out .= $csv_terminated; // Format the data while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $schema_insert = ''; for ($j = 0; $j < $fields_cnt; $j++) { if ($row[$j] == '0' || $row[$j] != '') { if ($csv_enclosed == '') { $schema_insert .= $row[$j]; } else { $schema_insert .= $csv_enclosed . str_replace($csv_enclosed, $csv_escaped . $csv_enclosed, $row[$j]) . $csv_enclosed; } } else { $schema_insert .= ''; } if ($j < $fields_cnt - 1) { $schema_insert .= $csv_separator; } } // end for $out .= $schema_insert; $out .= $csv_terminated; } // end while header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); header("Content-Length: " . strlen($out)); // Output to browser with appropriate mime type, you choose header("Content-type: text/x-csv"); //header("Content-type: text/csv"); //header("Content-type: application/csv"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$filename"); echo $out; exit; } ?> Again, this is working perfectly for only exporting all the data from the exiting table into one CSV file. My question is, how can I make my one submit button export the 2 CSV files that I need? Thanks for the help... I have a form where a user can duplicate part of a form like below: I've named the fields with the HTML arrays (ie. "fieldName[]") and came up with this: //--> CONTROLLERS $system_controllers_qty = $_POST['system_controllers_qty']; $system_controllers_make = $_POST['system_controllers_make']; $system_controllers_model = $_POST['system_controllers_model']; $system_controllers_serial_no = $_POST['system_controllers_serial_no']; for ($i = 0; $i < count($system_controllers_qty); $i++) { echo "qty " . clean($system_controllers_qty[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "make " . clean($system_controllers_make[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "model " . clean($system_controllers_model[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "serial_no " . clean($system_controllers_serial_no[$i]) . "<br/>"; } //--> CPUS $system_cpus_qty = $_POST['system_cpus_qty']; $system_cpus_model = $_POST['system_cpus_model']; $system_cpus_serial_no = $_POST['system_cpus_serial_no']; $system_cpus_speed = $_POST['system_cpus_speed']; for ($i = 0; $i < count($system_cpus_qty); $i++) { echo "qty " . clean($system_cpus_qty[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "model " . clean($system_cpus_model[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "serial_no " . clean($system_cpus_serial_no[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "speed " . clean($system_cpus_speed[$i]) . "<br/>"; } //--> DISKS $system_disks_qty = $_POST['system_disks_qty']; $system_disks_make = $_POST['system_disks_make']; $system_disks_model_no = $_POST['system_disks_model_no']; $system_disks_size = $_POST['system_disks_size']; $system_disks_serial_no = $_POST['system_disks_serial_no']; for ($i = 0; $i < count($system_disks_qty); $i++) { echo "qty " . clean($system_disks_qty[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "make " . clean($system_disks_make[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "model_no " . clean($system_disks_model_no[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "size " . clean($system_disks_size[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "serial_no " . clean($system_disks_serial_no[$i]) . "<br/>"; } //--> MEMORY $system_memory_qty = $_POST['system_memory_qty']; $system_memory_serial_no = $_POST['system_memory_serial_no']; $system_memory_manf = $_POST['system_memory_manf']; $system_memory_part_no = $_POST['system_memory_part_no']; $system_memory_size = $_POST['system_memory_size']; for ($i = 0; $i < count($system_memory_qty); $i++) { echo "qty " . clean($system_memory_qty[$i]) . "<br/>"; echo "size " . clean($system_memory_size[$i]) . "<br/>"; } This just outputs all the fields I post at the moment. Say I have 3 different disk types, it's going to loop 3 times. Is it possible to make this all into 1 giant query or am I better off doing each query separately? Each section is a different table. |
