PHP - Executing Certain Code Based On Outcome
Hi All
Basically I have 4 fields in my database image2, image3, image4, image5 I have an image uploader to upload the files but I need what I need is if image2 is empty put in image3, if image3 is empty put in image4 so far I have this //so first is the query to find the right row which gives the variable $row //now here is what im doing if($row['image2']!==""){ //run this code } elseif($row['image3']!==""){ //run this code } elseif($row['image4']!==""){ //run this code } elseif($row['image5']!==""){ //run this code } Now the problem I'm having is the code that is always executing is the first one of $row['image2'] even if image2 has a value in the database it still runs that code and over writes the field in the database. It never moves on to field 3 or 4. Can someone please tell me if I've done something wrong. I'm not storing the image in the database just the name. Thanks Danny Similar TutorialsI am trying to use some php code inside of an html document and it does not work. I have a script.php file that executes perfectly when I try and use it. Here is the code I am currently using: Code: [Select] <?php echo "<title>"; echo "the Homepage!"; echo "</title>"; ?> Any suggestions would be great. I am playing around with php but the script doesnt execute to the last point and with no error...
What i am trying to do is checking the input of the user and comparing it what is in db and then applying conditions. So i have 2 files. update.php and home.php. home.php is my html form page and i included 'update.php' in it In my update.php, i have these codes
<?php error_reporting(E_ALL); include_once('database.php'); if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $q = $_GET['q']; $next = $q + 1; if($q == 26) { echo '<h2>You have Completed the Exam.Congrats!!</h2>'; } elseif($q <= 25){ $sql = "SELECT * FROM Students WHERE Email=?"; $stmt = $conn->prepare($sql); $stmt->bind_param('s', $_SESSION['login']); $stmt->execute(); $result = $stmt->get_result(); $row = $result->fetch_assoc(); $Mark = $row['Mark']; $Correct = $Mark + 1; $Fail = $Mark + 0; $sqlb = "SELECT * FROM Answers WHERE qid = ?"; $stmtb = $conn->prepare($sqlb); $stmtb->bind_param('s', $q); $stmtb->execute(); $resultb = $stmtb->get_result(); $rowb = $resultb->fetch_assoc(); $Answer = $rowb['Answer']; $Pick = $_POST['ans']; if($Pick == $Answer) { $sqld = "UPDATE Students SET Mark=? WHERE Email = ?"; $stmtd = $conn->prepare($sqld); $stmtd->bind_param('ss', $Correct,$_SESSION['login']); $stmtd->execute(); $resultd = $stmtd->get_result(); echo "correct" ; } } else { echo 'Ate'; echo "<script type='text/javascript'>document.location.href='home.php?q='.$next.';</script>"; } }//post submit ?> The else statement doesnt run. so it keeps reloading the same page. Also i want to ask why i keep getting the value of 2 for my $Correct variable stored on the database into column Mark for a single correct question instead of 1. What could be wrong? Lastly, i dont want the script to run if the browser is edited by the user by changing the value of $q from the browser, because i am using get method, is there a way to do that. Please be nice with your comments. Thanks in advance.!!! Hi, this is my first time posting here. I am just delving into PHP and I am learning about foreach loops. I have written code in Notepad++ EXACTLY the way I saw it in a tutorial video I watched (I wish I could show the tutorial video to you, but it is on Lynda.com and you have to pay to watch) I attached the file with my code. The example 1 code works just fine. The example 2 code is the one that is not working for some reason. However, it worked for the guy that wrote it in the video, so I am not sure where I am going wrong? *The comments in green are mainly for myself, I explain things to myself so that I don't forget what the code does forloops.php 1.74KB 2 downloads I would appreciate some help. Thank you!!! In a PHP file [php_one.php], I wrote some PHP code that contained a form. I used ECHO to write the HTML inside of the PHP tags. On another PHP page [php_two.php], I wanted to show the code that was used to create the first page [php_one.php]. My first effort provided an interesting result, since the PHP code was readable. However, all HTML code was visible in its executed form. There was an actual input field and a submit button (not the code used to produce them) in the context of my coding. I have tried using:
file_get_contents("FILE") All results were similar and carried the same problem. How can I view code so that even the HTML is visible as code? I want to compute 150 + 20.95 * 1.01 + .5 so I get '171.65'. echo (150 + 20.95 * 1.01 + .5); gives me '171.6595'. I tried echo number_format(150 + 20.95 * 1.01 + .5, 2);, but I got '171.66'. How can I go about getting '171.65'? This topic has been moved to Third Party PHP Scripts. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=306808.0 Hi, can anyone help me?
I am trying to create a form which asks the user to input their postcode then submit. the purpose is so if the service my site offers is not available in the location that the end user lives, then I want to display a message saying 'Sorry, not available', but if they are in area then it redirects to another page.
My form code is:
<form method="post" action="forwarder.php"> <p> Enter Post Code He <input type = "text" name = "zip" id = "zip" size = "10" maxlength = "5" "> <input type='submit'> </form>My PHP is: <?php $zip = isset ($_POST['zip']) { if ($zip=='NG15') { header('Location: https://www.bing.com'); } else { header('Location: http://www.google.co.uk') } ?>I am a bit of a newbie at this, and I know my PHP won't give me my desired result, but I was using this to try and test the concept. Help would be really appreciated, and if you can show me how to do it for multiple postcodes even better i have been been given a project to create a website where registered users can answer some mathematics test questions,after anwering the questions and submitting, they should be able to see the sumarry of their test score showing the questions they got correctly, the ones anwred wrongly and the test score. please someone should help me with a sample script in php. me email address is nelboy4u@yahoo.com
I'm working on a project that has a lot of different timezone options, and all I have from the users is their UTC offset. After weeks of doing tweaks, I come to new issues every time I add something, one would think it would be a lot easier to just get the correct time and day :) The latest issue is that when I try to rewrite a date to a better fomat, it disregards the GMT offset. Like this: 4/14/19, 12:00 PM GMT+2 (=$date) becomes ... 14-04-2019 10:00 when using this code: $bp_date_to_format = date_create_from_format('Y-m-d\TH:i:sP', $date); echo date_format($bp_date_to_format, 'd-m-Y H:i'); I figured it would just rewrite the format, keeping the exact time. It isn't. We do have all these sorts of localization functions as well, but because there doesn't seem to be one single standard (each 3rd party API connection we have uses its own default datetime format so it seems). // Remove UTC Text $UTC_offset = str_replace('UTC', '', $timezone); // Get Offset in Minutes if (stripos($UTC_offset, ':') !== false) { // Calculate seconds from offset list($hours, $minutes) = explode(':', $offset); $seconds = $hours * 60 * 60 + $minutes * 60; } else { $seconds = $UTC_offset * 60 * 60; } // Get User timezone name from seconds $timezone = timezone_name_from_abbr('', $seconds, 1); if ($timezone === false) { $timezone = timezone_name_from_abbr('', $seconds, 0); } // Set new TZ return date_default_timezone_set($timezone);
Isn't there any "one way"solution that can be used? It's confusing to say the least.
Cheers. Below is the screenshots and script for user page level access i have used it for one of my old projects. Code is working as it was intended. But it needs to be improvised. Users table
pages table , which has all the pages and links
Access level table. which has user id from users table and page id from pages table (for which user has access)
Once the user is created, admin gives access to the user on page basis, the permissions.php page looks like this The modules
Menus inside the modules
Pages in each menu
Here is my code for permission.php <div id="demo2-html"> <ul id="demo2" class="mnav"> <li><a href="#">Sales</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Lead</a> <ul> <table class="table table-bordered table-striped table-hover"> <?php $s1 = mysqli_query($con, "SELECT pages.page_id as pid, pages.code, pages.page, pages.href, access_level.aid, access_level.page_id as pgid, access_level.user_id FROM pages LEFT JOIN access_level ON (pages.page_id=access_level.page_id AND access_level.user_id=".$user." ) WHERE pages.code='led'") or die(mysqli_error($con)); while($s2 = mysqli_fetch_array($s1)) { ?> <tr><li><td><?php echo $s2['page']; ?> </td><td><input type="checkbox" name="sn[]" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" <?php if($s2['pgid'] === $s2['pid']) echo 'checked="checked"';?> /> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" name="page_id[<?php echo $s2['pgid']; ?>]"> </td></li></tr> <?php } ?> </table> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Customer</a> <ul> <table class="table table-bordered table-striped table-hover"> <?php $s1 = mysqli_query($con, "SELECT pages.page_id as pid, pages.code, pages.page, pages.href, access_level.aid, access_level.page_id as pgid, access_level.user_id FROM pages LEFT JOIN access_level ON (pages.page_id=access_level.page_id AND access_level.user_id=".$user." ) WHERE pages.code='cst'") or die(mysqli_error($con)); while($s2 = mysqli_fetch_array($s1)) { ?> <tr><li><td><?php echo $s2['page']; ?> </td><td><input type="checkbox" name="sn[]" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" <?php if($s2['pgid'] === $s2['pid']) echo 'checked="checked"';?> /> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" name="page_id[<?php echo $s2['pgid']; ?>]"> </td></li></tr> <?php } ?> </table> </ul> </li> //code goes for all the other modules </ul> </li> </ul> </div> <input type="hidden" name="user" value="<?php echo $user; ?>" /> <div class="row" align="center"> <input type="submit" name="submit" class="btn btn-success" value="Save" /> </form> // form Submission if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $user = $_POST['user']; $sql = "DELETE FROM access_level WHERE user_id = ".$user.""; $query = mysqli_query($con, $sql) or die (mysqli_error($con)); foreach($_POST['sn'] as $sn) { $sql = "insert into access_level (page_id, user_id) values (".$sn.", ".$user.")"; $query = mysqli_query($con, $sql) or die (mysqli_error($con)); } if($query) { header("location:users.php?access=1"); } }
So against each user i am storing all the page ids here. When i edit any of the users, it deletes all the records and again insers new records. Which i feel is not a proper way to do. And in codewise also, i am redirecting the user to no_access.php (as below) page if the user do not have access. <?php ob_start(); include("connect.php"); include("admin_auth.php"); $q1 = basename($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], '?' . $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']); $q2 = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; $var1 = "/".$q1; $qa_path=explode('/', $q2); $right_path = $qa_path[2].$var1; $parsedUrl = parse_url($q2); $curdir = dirname($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'])."/"; $m4 = "select p.page_id, p.code, p.page, p.href, al.aid, al.page_id, al.user_id FROM pages p INNER JOIN access_level al ON p.page_id=al.page_id WHERE al.user_id=".$_SESSION['user_id'].""; $m5 = mysqli_query($con, $m4) or die (mysqli_error($con)); while($nk1 = mysqli_fetch_array($m5)) { $href1[] = ($nk1['href']); } if(in_array($right_path, $href1)) { echo "<script type='text/javascript'> document.location = ".BASE_URL."/".$right_path."</script>"; } else { echo "<script type='text/javascript'> document.location = '../no_access.php' </script>"; exit(); } ?> I need help in improve and better/effective (structural) way to do this both in database and php script. How to make a form using HTML/PHP with conditional responses based on zip code? What I want to do exactly... zip codes 91900-92600 go to URL www.example.com after submit. All others go to URL www.example.com/page after submit. Any help would be much appreciated. Hello, I am building an online game(users make a character and move on a map and so on...)
All user data is stored in a mySQL database and I want the users to interact in real-time, but there can be a 1-3 second delay between the communication, but not exceed 3 seconds even if 500 players are playing at the same time.
But for the purpose of the question let's say the users can only chat between one another, if I'll have a solution for that then I can use the same method for more parts of the game.
I can't use websockets because my webhost doesn't support it( I don't want to use pusher.com).
I know I can make real-time apps with ajax long polling, but I think that with 500 players playing at the same time it's not the best solution.
So, finally:
How can I make user interaction as close as possible to a real-time game?
(Without too much load on the hosting server)
(I am sorry if some of my terms are not correct - I am just getting back to coding after a long time...)
Edited by Mythion, 17 August 2014 - 02:34 AM. I have a mysql table which will store users email addresses (each is unique and is the primary field) and a timestamp. I have added another column called `'unique_code' (varchar(64), utf8_unicode_ci)`. What I would very much appreciate assistance with is; a) Generating a 5 digit alphanumeric code, ie: 5ABH6 b) Check all rows the 'unique_code' column to ensure it is unique, otherwise re-generate and check again c) Insert the uniquely generated 5 digit alphanumeric code into `'unique_code'` column, corresponding to the email address just entered. d) display the code on screen. What code must I put and where? **My current php is as follows:** Code: [Select] require "includes/connect.php"; $msg = ''; if($_POST['email']){ // Requested with AJAX: $ajax = ($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH'] == 'XMLHttpRequest'); try{ if(!filter_input(INPUT_POST,'email',FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)){ throw new Exception('Invalid Email!'); } $mysqli->query("INSERT INTO coming_soon_emails SET email='".$mysqli->real_escape_string($_POST['email'])."'"); if($mysqli->affected_rows != 1){ throw new Exception('You are already on the notification list.'); } if($ajax){ die('{"status":1}'); } $msg = "Thank you!"; } catch (Exception $e){ if($ajax){ die(json_encode(array('error'=>$e->getMessage()))); } $msg = $e->getMessage(); } } I have learned php coding by doing (looking for patterns and trying things) and I have hit a roadblock trying to modify a template that creates a delimited text file of products from an ecommerce site (Sunshop) for upload to google base. I have tried to search for the answer but I don't know what I don't know so I may not have put the right search terms in. So I apologize if this has been addressed in the past. The script uses case to call up the contents of specific rows of the product table which I understand but in when I want to call up the manufacturer row Sunshop uses a reference number and then a different table called manufacturers with an ID row that matches the manufacturer row numbers (that are associated with each product) and then next to it a name row which contains the actual manuracturer names. Can I put code in the case that will pull up the referenced name as opposed to just the numbers that are in the column? This is what I have now that just calls up the cells from the manufacurer row: Code: [Select] case 'mfg': $item[mfg] = $item[manufacturer]; The mfg refers to this part of the code in an array: Code: [Select] array('header' => 'manufacturer', 'value' => 'mfg'), In case it helps I will attach the full document. Thanks. I'm tired and want to sleep so my mistakes are getting lots now. Anybody awake that can explain my problem with the code below. <? function directoryToArray($directory, $recursive) { $array_items = array(); $i = "0"; if ($handle = opendir($directory)) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle)) && $i < "3") { if ($file != "." && $file != "..") { if (is_dir($directory. "/" . $file)) { if($recursive) { $array_items = array_merge($array_items, directoryToArray($directory. "/" . $file, $recursive)); } } else { $file = $directory . "/" . $file; $array_items[] = preg_replace("/\/\//si", "/", $file); $i++; } } } closedir($handle); } natsort($array_items); return array_reverse($array_items); } $data = directoryToArray('images/screenshot/', TRUE); print_r($data); ?> What I want is for the while loop to stop after 4 hits and exit and give me the return results. But now it continue until readdir end. I have the following query where $userid is about 100,000 userids separated by commas. Code: [Select] <? $getpostid=mysql_query("SELECT DISTINCT post.username,post.threadid,thread.threadid,thread.forumid from post,thread WHERE post.username='$username' AND post.threadid=thread.threadid AND post.userid IN ($userid) AND thread.forumid IN ($forumids)") or die (mysql_error()); ?>can i just print all the usernames from above result separated by ';' without looping it multiple times? Could someone help me out how to do above in an efficient manner? Hey there, I recently started working on a PHP calculator, I tryed testing it out and the script is not executing... *NOTE* I found the error, I forgot to assign values to the options, all is good now Code: [Select] <?php /* Script Created by: Far Cry Started: August 20th, 2010 10:51 PM PST Completed */ $title = "Calculator"; $form = "<form action='calculator.php' method='POST'> <table> <tr> <td><input name='firstnumber' type='text'></td> </tr> <tr> <td><input name='secondnumber' type='text'></td> </tr> <tr> <td><select name='operation'> <option name='multiply'>*</option> </select></td> </tr> <tr> <td><input name='submitbtn' type='submit' value='Calculate!'></td> </tr> </table> </form>"; if ($_POST['submitbtn']){ $first = ($_POST['firstnumber']); $last = ($_POST['secondnumber']); $operation = ($_POST['operation']); } if ($operation == 'multiply'){ echo"The answer is " . $first * $last . $form; } echo $form; ?> Thanks in advance. Hey guys! My current employer contracted someone to create a script for him. (The script itself is to create a serial number for a piece of software) It's just a PHP script that executes a file and retrieves its output. Now I've never worked with exec() in PHP, and I don't have a reliable environment to test it in. I compiled apache2 and php 5.0.4 and set them to run on a Macintosh (10.3.9) in the office, but I'm sure I've missed some crucial setup stage (mainly, I'm missing php.ini. I did a php -i | grep php.ini to find it, and it says it is in /etc/, but when I look in my PHP/etc folder, only pear.conf is there!). PHP and apache both appear to be working fine, though. When I try and run the PHP script that executes the .ELF file, I get a blank page. Is this because I'm running it in OS X? should I be running it in Linux? Also, I don't know how to Enable exec() on my server, or to see if it's enabled. Basically, I just need someone to walk me through the basics of this. The script and executable SHOULD work fine because the contractor got it working fine. Below is the script, and attached is the executable. Thanks! :3 <?php /* inUID = 456890 inSerialNumUID = 123456 inMachineID_s = &6dA-8P@K-Xsq */ $p1 = "456890"; $p2 = "123456"; $p3 = "\&6dA-8P@K-Xsq"; exec("./create_activation_code.elf $p1 $p2 $p3", $output); foreach ($output as $output_str) { echo $output_str."<br>"; } ?> OK, so I have the following file that has database functions: <?php function dbDelete($param){ $conDelete = mysql_connect($url,'username','password',true); mysql_select_db('my_db',$conDelete); mysql_query($param,$conDelete); mysql_close(); if(isset($conDelete)){ mysql_close($conDelete); } } ?> I include the above file in a session handling file. But for some reason the new file can't call the above function as follows: <?php include_once 'the above stated file'; function timeOut(){ dbDelete("DELETE FROM acctussessi WHERE acctussessi_usid = '$sessius[0]'"); $_SESSION = array(); setcookie(session_name(),'',time()-4200); session_destroy(); } //CHECK FOR TIMEOUT REQUEST switch($_GET['xyz']){ case 'timeout': timeOut(); header("Location: /?xyz=timedout"); break; case 'logout': timeOut(); header("Location: /?xyz=loggedout"); break; case 'refresh': dbUpdate("UPDATE acctussessi SET acctussessi_time = ".time()." WHERE acctussessi_unid ='".$token."'"); break; } ?> dbDelete isn't being called inside of the TimeOut() function. The only way it works is by doing the following: <?php function timeOut(){ $_SESSION = array(); setcookie(session_name(),'',time()-4200); session_destroy(); } //CHECK FOR TIMEOUT REQUEST switch($_GET['xyz']){ case 'timeout': dbDelete("DELETE FROM acctussessi WHERE acctussessi_usid = '$sessius[0]'"); timeOut(); header("Location: /?xyz=timedout"); break; case 'logout': dbDelete("DELETE FROM acctussessi WHERE acctussessi_usid = '$sessius[0]'"); timeOut(); header("Location: /?xyz=loggedout"); break; case 'refresh': dbUpdate("UPDATE acctussessi SET acctussessi_time = ".time()." WHERE acctussessi_unid ='".$token."'"); break; } ?> But this is annoying and repetitive. What is going on? Thanks in advance.
