Hello, i am coding a backend portal, this portal will have staff members lets call them 'M1' and each staff member will have a client 'C1'
What is the best way to put this into a database? do i have a table for Staff? then a seperate table for Members? or one table consisting of staff, with the members details written into the staff's row? Similar TutorialsHey i have created the code below attempting to show a specific members details when their username is entered and the submit button is pressed. but when i enter the username all members details are shown. The code i have used is shown below, can anybody help me with the code to just show the single users details. I have attached an image aswell. <?php mysql_connect ("localhost","root",""); mysql_select_db ("test"); $sql = "select * from memberdetails"; $result = mysql_query ($sql); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $username= $row["username"]; $firstname= $row["firstname"]; $surname= $row["surname"]; $dob= $row["dob"]; $totalwins= $row["totalwins"]; $totalloses= $row["totalloses"]; $email= $row["email"]; $country= $row["country"]; $info= $row["info"]; echo "<b><u>Username:</b></u> $username<br>"; echo "<b><u>Firstname:</b></u> $firstname<br>"; echo "<b><u>Surname: </b> </u> $surname<br>"; echo "<b><u>Date of Birth:</b></u> $dob<br>"; echo "<b><u>Total Chess Wins:</b></u> $totalwins<br>"; echo "<b><u>Total Chess loses:</b></u> $totalloses<br>"; echo "<b><u>Email Address: </b></u> $email<br>"; echo "<b><u>Born in: </b></u> $country<br>"; echo "<b><u>Other Details:</b></u> $info<br>"; } ?> I am not sure if the title is correct; I tried my best.
I'm a PHP/MySQL beginner and I really need some help.
I have a small script that I am using for sending SMS. I recently added a phonebook. The problem with the phonebook right now is that it's available to all users, i.e. they can all update and delete all rows. What I would like to do is make it so that each user can update and delete only their own contacts.
I have a table call contacts. Inside that table there is first name, last name, company and phonenumber.
How can I accomplish this with PHP & MySQL?
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `contacts` ( `contact_id` int(10) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `firstname` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `lastname` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `company` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `cell_no` text NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`contact_id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=8 ; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `users` ( `user_id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `users_name` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `uname` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `u_pass` varchar(60) NOT NULL, `utype` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `timezone` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `uapi_user` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `uapi_pass` varchar(60) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`user_id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=20 ; <?php if (isset($_POST['submit'])){ //form has been submitted1 $firstname = trim($_POST['firstname']); $lastname = trim($_POST['lastname']); $company = trim($_POST['company']); $cellno = trim($_POST['cell_no']); if($firstname == ''){ echo '<div class="alert alert-danger">First Name is not Valid!</div>'; exit; }elseif($lastname == ''){ echo '<div class="alert alert-danger">Last Name is not Valid!</div>'; exit; }elseif($company == ''){ echo '<div class="alert alert-danger">Company is not Valid!</div>'; exit; }elseif($cellno == ''){ echo '<div class="alert alert-danger">Cellphone Number is not Valid!</div>'; exit; }else{ $query = "Select cell_no from contacts where cell_no = '".$cellno."' "; $result = mysql_query($query); if (!mysql_num_rows($result)) { $sql = "INSERT INTO contacts(firstname, lastname, company, cell_no) values('{$firstname}','{$lastname}', '{$company}', '{$cellno}')"; $result = mysql_query($sql); confirm_query($result); //echo '<div class="alert alert-success">Successfully added.</div>'; //exit; ?> <script type="text/javascript"> window.location = "contact_list.php"; </script> <?php } else{ echo '<div class="alert alert-danger">Username. already exist!.</div>'; echo '<p><a href="new_contact.php" class="btn btn-success"> Back </a></p>'; exit; }} }else{ $firstname = ""; $lastname = ""; $company = ""; $cellno = ""; } ?> create table mimi (mimiId int(11) not null, mimiBody varchar(255) ); <?php //connecting to database include_once ('conn.php'); $sql ="SELECT mimiId, mimiBody FROM mimi"; $result = mysqli_query($conn, $sql ); $mimi = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result); $mimiId ='<span>No: '.$mimi['mimiId'].'</span>'; $mimiBody ='<p class="leading text-justify">'.$mimi['mimiBody'].'</p>'; ?> //what is next? i want to download pdf or text document after clicking button or link how to do that I have this code that will get the absent dates for all employees, how can i make it for one specific employee using oracle id? code: $res = $conn->query("SELECT s.oracleid , s.staffname , date_format(date, '%W %d/%m/%Y') as absent FROM staff s CROSS JOIN date d LEFT JOIN attendance_records a ON s.oracleid = a.oracleid AND d.date = DATE(a.clockingindate) WHERE a.oracleid IS NULL ORDER BY s.oracleid, d.date "); the records i am concerned about is for the attendance records table, I have oracle id in that table. Hi Guys, I am fairly new to mySQL/PHP and I have an issue. I have a login/registration system for a website and it works. However in the registration the user enters info such as their phone and email. How can I access these two fields of info from the user who is currently logged in. For example someone makes an account with: Username: Person Password: hello Email: person@gmail.com Phone: 111-111-1111 Name: Hello Person When they log into the site using their username and password, how can I detect their email/phone/name? Thanks in advance! Hi All, I am fairly new to PHP. I want to write some code that will get content from specific classes that are in a HTML page. I.e. <p>text 1</p> <p class="description">text2</p> <p>text3</p> I want to just output text where class = description. How would i do this? Hi this is what I have set up - SQL tables - Members - memberid - primary key Username Password Orders - Orderid - primary key memberid - foreign key orderno In my sql table there are two members and two orders. 1 order is assigned to 1 member and the other order to the other member. After each member logs in I need to 'echo' that order on the page. I've not been able to write any succesful php code that 'gets' the specific order that is related to the member that has signed in. I would appreciate help on this! Thanks I need to find out how many times the "mac" key show is in an array. Code: [Select] Array ( [serial] => Robert [added] => Peter [mac] => 1232091823 [mac] => 7538572375 [mac] =>943820348239804 [place] =>home ) I have a form where people enter in values and I need these values displayed in the proper format. I need the output string to have a "<" at the beginning and a ">" at the end but whenever I put the code in to add the < in the beginning nothing shows up. Here is my code. I am able to get it to work with just adding the > at the end but it seems when I add "<" to the beginning this is where nothing shows up. Code: [Select] <?php $hairbald = trim($_POST['HairBald']); $eyes = trim($_POST['Eyes']); $test =$eyes.'.'.$hairbald; if(empty($test)) { $test = $test; } else $test = '<'.$test.'>'; ?> If the user selects blue eyes and bald head I need the output to be <blue.bald> I would appreciate your assistance, there are tons of login scripts and they work just fine. However I need my operators to login and then list their activities for the other operators who are logged in to see and if desired send their clients on the desired activity. I have the login working like a charm and the activities are listed just beautifully. How do I combine the two tables in the MySQL with PHP so the operator Logged in can only make changes to his listing but see the others. FIRST THE ONE script the member logges in here to the one table in MSQL: <?php session_start(); require_once('config.php'); $errmsg_arr = array(); $errflag = false; $link = mysql_connect(DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD); if(!$link) { die('Failed to connect to server: ' . mysql_error()); } $db = mysql_select_db(DB_DATABASE); if(!$db) { die("Unable to select database"); } function clean($str) { $str = @trim($str); if(get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $str = stripslashes($str); } return mysql_real_escape_string($str); } $login = clean($_POST['login']); $password = clean($_POST['password']); if($login == '') { $errmsg_arr[] = 'Login ID missing'; $errflag = true; } if($password == '') { $errmsg_arr[] = 'Password missing'; $errflag = true; } if($errflag) { $_SESSION['ERRMSG_ARR'] = $errmsg_arr; session_write_close(); header("location: login-form.php"); exit(); } $qry="SELECT * FROM members WHERE login='$login' AND passwd='".md5($_POST['password'])."'"; $result=mysql_query($qry); if($result) { if(mysql_num_rows($result) == 1) { session_regenerate_id(); $member = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); $_SESSION['SESS_MEMBER_ID'] = $member['member_id']; $_SESSION['SESS_FIRST_NAME'] = $member['firstname']; $_SESSION['SESS_LAST_NAME'] = $member['lastname']; session_write_close(); header("location: member-index.php"); exit(); }else { header("location: login-failed.php"); exit(); } }else { die("Query failed"); } ?> ................................................. ................................ Now I need the person who logged in to the table above to be able to make multiple entries to the table below <? $ID=$_POST['ID']; $title=$_POST['title']; $cost=$_POST['cost']; $activity=$_POST['activity']; $ayear=$_POST['aday']; $aday=$_POST['ayear']; $seats=$_POST['special']; $special=$_POST['seats']; mysql_connect("xxxxxx", "xxx350234427", "========") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("xxxx") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_query("INSERT INTO `activity` VALUES ('ID','$title', '$cost','$activity', '$aday', '$ayear', '$special', '$seats')"); Print "Your information has been successfully added to the database!" ?> Click <a href="member-profile.php">HERE</a> to return to the main menu <?php ?> I'm creating a social network for a friend and I need to make a flash webcam to talk to another flash webcam. I have all the flash code working, now all I need is a way to let users match themselves up to each other without other users being able to barge in. What areas of php do I need to learn about to do this? Dallas. Hello,
First of all I'd like to say thank you for all the great information on the forums, I've been reading a lot on here lately.
I've started to make a website where users can log in and submit items to a database, which is then displayed on another page.
If Tom and Bill both post 10 items, all 20 items will be displayed on the "listings" page, however on the main log in screen Tom will only see his own 10 items and Bill will see his own 10 items.
This is all working perfectly, however, I now need to add a delete button so that they can delete specific items.
I have loosely followed this tutorial here to get the table to display as I want it (amongst a few other things, such as the user logins) http://www.wickham43...mphptomysql.php
I've added the delete button in the PHP loop for each row, I just can't figure out how to delete the specific row when clicked.
Any help would be really appreciated
Edited by eklem, 22 October 2014 - 08:10 AM. Hi, I have created a session based logon system using php and MYSQL from some tutorials I found online which is working very successfully. I can log on and of and move through different pages with no problems. My query is how do I output or display the information that is specific to the user which is currently logged on and block access to any other users information. I am quite sure there is a simple solution that is escaping me. If you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Hi, All: I'm trying to figure out what way it's the best way to pull info belonging to a specific user based on whether he's a logged-in "member", and want to make sure he's not able to access any other member's details... would the best way be to try to match the user's "username" stored in a $_SESSION when fetching his info, something like this: Code: [Select] <?php // Assume the login combo is this: $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; // Assume he has already logged in: $_SESSION['username'] = $username; //EXAMPLE 1: SELECTING user info simply from actual DB username/password match: if ($_SESSION['username']) { $userRecords = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '$username' AND password = '$password'"); $userInfo = mysql_fetch_array($userRecords); echo $userInfo['id'] . $userInfo['username'] . $userInfo['first-name'] . $userInfo['last-name'] . $userInfo['date-register']; } // EXAMPLE 2: or SELECTING user info based on $_SESSION['username'] value: if ($_SESSION['username']) { $userRecords = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = . $_SESSION['username'] . AND password = '$password'"); $userInfo = mysql_fetch_array($userRecords); echo $userInfo['id'] . $userInfo['username'] . $userInfo['first-name'] . $userInfo['last-name'] . $userInfo['date-register']; } ?> So, my question is, are this actually working differently? is one better than the other as far as security, preventing other users from hacking either on purpose or accidenally into other user's details? thank! Appreciate any feedback... Hi guys, in my database i have the table called users, where i have 5 fields (id, username, email, password, user_level) - for the user_level field i have 2 options administrator and editor.
What i want to do is that when the user who is logged in have administrator in the user_level field to see all the pages from backend, and the user who have in the user_level field editor to see only some of the pages from the backend such as newsletter, or messages.
I hope you understand what i'm asking if not fell free to ask me if you need more specific details.
I tried to make a php page called access.php wher i put the following code, but not working
<?php session_start(); $sql = $mysqli->query("SELECT user_level FROM imobiliare_users WHERE id=$id"); $user_level = $mysqli->query($sql); echo $user_level; if ($user_level !="administrator") { echo "You are not the proper user type to view this page"; die(); } ?>Hope you can help me. Thx in advance for help. Hello. I'm a newbie so sorry if this isn't the best forum to post my problem.
I am using a MySQL and PHP to create a web app. I have authentication, and I can register users. I also have a form that users provide information and it is successfully inserting data into a table in my database.
I will use fictional fields for my database table called meal_info:
username
dateStartedDiet
numberMealsPerDay
costPerMeal
Problem: Select user-specific data from the MySQL database, using Session username to select only the current user's data, then display it and do some calculations.
Here is thecode at the top, and I am fairly sure it's working:
session_start(); //execute commone code
require("common.php"); //includes code to connect to database, etc.

I am making a form that is storing the information in a database, and in this form I also want images to be uploaded. I want to make a function that allows the user to upload as many images as they would like to have in their ad on my website, and I also need something that can handle the upload process, and see how many images the user is trying to upload. Any easy solutions for this? I also have another question: As you can see on the example image underneath this text, I have a form with multiple inputs where the user is suppose to choose how many inputs they want to fill in themself. How should I store this information in the database, and how can I make a script that detects how many of the forms the user actually filled? I hope you guys understood what I was trying to say, and I thank you all anyways. Underneath you can see an image of my forms. Example image: Cheers, Marius Hey Guys.
Im trying to show if the selected user has had all the required tests they need so they can have a treatment at a hairdressers. For example the client needs to of had a skin test before they can have their hair dyed. Im struggling on showing which tests the user still needs to have
Currently I'm working with 3 tables.
The treatmentTest table which stores all the required tests
treatmentTest
idtreatmentTest
the user table which has the users details
user
iduser
and the usertest table which stores when they had the test and if it has expired (if it has expired is set to 1)
userTest
iduser
idtreatmentTest
expired
so I need this box to pop up with a warning on each test that is still outstanding but I dont want it to show if there are no tests needed. I obviously need to loop through the results of my query but the query its self is confusing me...
<ul class="list-unstyled"> <li>[treatment Name]</li> <li class="text-italic text-muted">Expired [date]</li> <li><a href="#" class="btn btn-success">Update</a></li> </ul>First I tried looping through all the treatments then inside that loop writing the following <?php do { //now foreach treatment test get the resulting test from the usertest table if (isset($row_testReq['idtreatmentTest'])) { $col_userTest = $row_testReq['idtreatmentTest']; } if (isset($_SESSION['cClient'])) { $colname_userTest = $_SESSION['cClient']; } if (isset($expire)) { $colname_userTestExpire = '1'; } mysql_select_db($database_dbconnect, $dbconnect); $query_userTest = sprintf("SELECT * FROM userTest WHERE idtreatmentTest = %s AND iduser = %s AND userTestExpire=%s", GetSQLValueString($col_userTest, "int"), GetSQLValueString($colname_userTest, "int"), GetSQLValueString($colname_userTestExpire, "text")); $userTest = mysql_query($query_userTest, $dbconnect) or die(mysql_error()); $row_userTest = mysql_fetch_assoc($userTest); $totalRows_userTest = mysql_num_rows($userTest); ?> <li class="list-group-item"> <div class="col-sm-2"><i class="fa fa-2x fa-close text-danger"></i></div> <div class="col-sm-9"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> <?php if($totalRows_userTest>0){?> <li><?php echo $row_testReq['treatmentTestName'];?></li> <li class="text-italic text-muted">Expired <?php echo $fn->sqlShowDate($row_userTest['userTestExpire']); ?></li> <li><a href="client-treat-test.php?i=<?php echo $row_testReq['idtreatmentTest'];?>&t=<?php echo $row_testReq['treatmentTestToken'];?>" class="btn btn-success">Update</a></li> <?php } ?></ul> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </li> <?php } while ($row_testReq = mysql_fetch_assoc($testReq)); ?> this doesnt work properly at all. It gave me all the treatments that have expired but if a new treatmenttest was added it wouldnt display that there was a test required. Does anybody know a different way? I also tried getting all the treatments then all the rows in the userTest table then comparing what the differences where but I struggle with arrays comparisons and im not even sure that was the best way to go about it. Am I going to need two queries? One like the loop above and one that looks for expired treatments and one that looks for treatments the user hasn't had or can this be done in one and if so how?? Edited by fife, 18 November 2014 - 02:39 PM. I want to show data for logged in user, i am using sessions to login. This is the code i already have: // Connect to server and select database. mysql_connect("$host", "$username", "$password")or die("cannot connect"); mysql_select_db("$db_name")or die("cannot select DB"); //this selects everything for the current user, ready to be used in the script below $result = mysql_query("SELECT id, points, ingame_points, ingame_money, ingame_items FROM members; WHERE username = $_SESSION['myusername']"); //this function will take the above query and create an array while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { //with the array created above, I can create variables (left) with the outputted array (right) $points = $row['points']; $id = $row['id']; $ingame_points = $row['ingame_points']; $ingame_money = $row['ingame_money']; $ingame_items = $row['ingame_items']; } Help ? |
