PHP - Php Create Zip-file Error..
Hey,
i'd like to extract filenames from my database and present them as a downloadable zip-file to my users. I found a usefull function on http://davidwalsh.name/create-zip-php and thought i could work that out to my needs, but on this function itself (before using it), i get an error.. on the following line: if($zip->open($destination,$overwrite ? ZIPARCHIVE::OVERWRITE : ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE) !== true) { i get: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')', expecting '(' i dont get it, dont think there is actually an error in the function.. does it mean that the php installed on the server i use, cant handle this function or anything? my phpinfo: http://dwarsfluit.davidvandiepen.nl/test.php the function is: Code: [Select] <?php /* creates a compressed zip file */ function create_zip($files = array(),$destination = '',$overwrite = false) { //if the zip file already exists and overwrite is false, return false if(file_exists($destination) && !$overwrite) { return false; } //vars $valid_files = array(); //if files were passed in... if(is_array($files)) { //cycle through each file foreach($files as $file) { //make sure the file exists if(file_exists($file)) { $valid_files[] = $file; } } } //if we have good files... if(count($valid_files)) { //create the archive $zip = new ZipArchive(); if($zip->open($destination,$overwrite ? ZIPARCHIVE::OVERWRITE : ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE) !== true) { return false; } //add the files foreach($valid_files as $file) { $zip->addFile($file,$file); } //debug //echo 'The zip archive contains ',$zip->numFiles,' files with a status of ',$zip->status; //close the zip -- done! $zip->close(); //check to make sure the file exists return file_exists($destination); } else { return false; } }?> thanks for helping! So if $Ref[$i] exists as a file name in a certain directory, append to the file, if it doesn't create the file in that directory and write to it. This could be anything from a usual PHP Notice, An SQL Query failing, a 404 page or a user reaching an activity they should not have (For example, hitting a default: on a switch when they shouldn't have) I have 3 options that I can think off 1) MySQL 2) Email 3) File Write All have pros and cons MySQL - Pro - I can build an admin script to read the errors and display them for me to handle and mark when completed. MySQL - CON - What is the Queries fail for what ever reason (too many connections), then the query to log the error would also fail, thus I would never know Email: PRO - Should always work, I will know straight away Email: CON - Getting the data from an email to a user friendly screen, instead of clogging up my email box File Write - PRO - I can put the data into MySQL at any point, Should near enough always work File Write - CON - Other people could possibly see the the errors, which could give away directories or weaknesses in the web project. I get that $_POST creates an array, however, in the procedural world I have always been able to assign a $variable to a $_POST. In fact if I remove the Class declaration the error goes away. What am am I missing ? - Many Thanks VJ : Code: [Select] <?php class LookUp { $first_name = $_POST["f_name"]; $last_name = $_POST ["l_name"]; $company = $_POST["company"]; } ?> I want to save an image with a unique name that is created from a hash function. How can I cretae the path with the variable... Code: [Select] $hash=$_GET['hash']; $path ="/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/test_upload/images/imagename2.png"; //becomes $path ="/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/test_upload/images/'.$hash.'.png";? So I'm a little confused and hoping someone can help me understand. I have a form that I use to upload a file, html with browse button, etc. The php file creates a directory based on the a value (lastname) from the form, so the folder files creates a directory named the value lastname. My problem is that I can't get the upload function to put the file in the newly created directory. So here is the upload script. $foldername = $_POST['lastname']; // Desired folder structure $structure = 'files/'.$foldername.''; // To create the nested structure, the $recursive parameter // to mkdir() must be specified. if (!mkdir($structure, 0777, true)) { die('Failed to create folders...'); } $target = "files/"; $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['userfile']['name']) ; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'], $target)) { echo "<center>The file ". basename( $_FILES['userfile']['name']). " has been uploaded.</center>"; } else { echo "No File was uploaded"; } So when I edited the target, it just changed the filename . What should I change in the code above to upload the file to the new directory? Thanks again, Sanchez Hi, Just looking how to create a link to download a file located on the server, it will be files like .doc etc. Cant seem to find anything on the net so i think i need php but may be html. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks p.s. it will be used for more than one file so im looking for a small ish amount of code. Hi All, I don't really need help with the code, I just need to know the process... This will take place in a simple form. The user enters the payment information and checks off 'Send Receipt' option. From there, the payment data is stored in the DB. Then, I need to have a PDF generated of the receipt and finally email the tenant with confirmation and the PDF that was created. Once the data is inserted, I can use fPDF to merge the data to the PDF document I created. That part I don't understand is how to automatically save that file and attach it to an email. Ideas / suggestions? Hello everybody, This is my first post here and I am beginner in PHP world in terms of writing the code to serve my own purposes. Well I am building a web app and basically it's a calendar which pulls information from .js file. Now I have thinking for the past couple of days how can I accomplish that each user that registers on the site manipulates its own .js file because information from .js file will be shown on calendar. Let me tell you how it's currently set up: 1. JavaScript file with particular static name is called under the script that is placed on index.php and the data is displayed on the page itself. So I would love to have is set it up like this: 1. Index page contains login form - Each registered/logged in user will have its own session 2. User registers and based on username/email new .js file is created out of a blank template and it is named based on user's username 3. user is then redirected to the calendar index which contains javascript that cals out that appropriate .js file based on the what user is logged in and displays data to the calendar I am not sure if that is doable with PHP or not but that's my thinking how it can be done if it's doable. I am open for any kind of suggestions how all this can be put together and if you do have better ideas I would love to hear from you. I am trying to create a very basic "forum"/comments section and I want to know how to have a page be automatically created once the form is submitted. I have found the code: Code: [Select] <?php function wwwcopy($link,$file) { $fp = @fopen($link,"r"); while(!feof($fp)) { $cont.= fread($fp,1024); } fclose($fp); $fp2 = @fopen($file,"w"); fwrite($fp2,$cont); fclose($fp2); } //Example on using this function //wwwcopy("http://www.domain.com/list.php?member=sample", "sample.html"); //Another example //wwwcopy("http://www.domain.com/list.php?member=sample2", "sample2.html"); ?> I am using post for my forum (not even sure how get would handle the comments section). How can I use this (or tweak it)? The variables I am passing are $User, $Email, $Title, $Comments, $Date. Would I still use it the same? ie: wwwcopy("http://www.domain.com/forum/new-post.php?User=$User&Email=$Email&Title=$Title&Comments=$Comments&Date=$Date", "X.php");? Also, the value for X is up in the air. I've considered using the auto increment id(index) number from the mySQL database this is saved in. Hi, I want to create a .html file dynamically on the server. Below is the code for that but i was not able to create the file. I have given all the read, write and execute permission on the folder. $filerand = rand(); $fileName = "test.html"; $filepath = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "\\testfolder\\" . $fileName . ".html"; echo $filepath; $bodytxt = "Welcome to my webpage"; $ourFileHandle = fopen($filepath, 'w') or die("can't open file"); fwrite($ourFileHandle, $bodytxt); fclose($ourFileHandle); Thanks in advance Hey there, Thanks for taking the time to read my thread, well basically I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I've got a string in PHP containing the contents of a file I would like to be created and I have a method of sending the command to the remote server like so: $Connection->exec('ps aux'); Now my issue is I am unaware of any file editors via command like that don't have some sort of user prompt I've scoured Google for hours searching for the best possible method for this but all the file editors aren't simply processed by one line commands and edited in that same command e.g Create File -> Write File -> Close File Is there no possible means of doing that via one line command?. Here is my string I wish to be written to the file. $RestartFile = "#!/bin/bash export SERVER_PATH=/home/client".$Server['server_owner']."/".$Server['server_id']." cd $SERVER_PATH while [ true ]; do ./server".$Server['server_id']." & done"); Thank you for your time. I got an idea with my homepage in progress. It's a blog and I want to sort my post in a navigation bar. Is it possible to do a script with $date function to create a new file the 1th of every month. Then use file_get_content on the current month.
To clarify in this stage I haven't started connecting my database.
