PHP - [read Please]-problem With Uppercase And Lowercase
Our professor in PHP Programming is very choosy that he requires us to verify if the user enter the UPPERCASE format of the user name registered the program will show an invalid user. What he's trying to say is the user must enter a 100% identical to the username he registered. If the username registered is LOWERCASE he must enter a LOWERCASE username if the username registered is UPPERCASE he must enter an UPPERCASE username to LOGIN.
Similar Tutorialsi am trying to convert all keys to lowercase and i was wondering if it is really possible to do using array_map to convert all keys to lowercase or using array_reduce.
what i am trying to do is to gather details from keys and display it on the page as links that redirect to the details page, i managed to convert it into lowercase, however it did not gather the records mainly due to keys being capitalised and me trying to gather those records using lowercase.
to put things into perspective here is the code: <?php $cakesmade = array(); $cakesmade = array( "kate" => array( "cake" => array( "cakeingredients" => "egg, flour"), "Lovely Chocolate Cake" => array( "cakeingredients" => "chocolate, eggs, flour"), "amazing cake" => array( "cakeingredients" => "lemons, flour") ), ); ?>//links <?php foreach($cakesmade as $id => $donecake) foreach($donecake as $bakedcake => $description) { echo "<a href='/user/$id/baked/$bakedcake'>$bakedcake</a>" } ?> Morning all, I'm trying to query a user table and am receiving errors. In the mysql statement I am trying to SELECT all data from the table that matches the username of the person logged in. The error I am receiving is this: Warning: mysql_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in C:\xampp\htdocs\123\myaccount.php The database query is written correctly, if I am logged in as the user Admin then I recieve this message as well: Unknown column 'Admin' in 'where clause' from the or die(mysql_error());. In the database the username is: admin but I can login using Admin, is this an issue of upper and lowercase? The PHP code is below: Code: [Select] <?php require_once('connect.php'); $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM user WHERE username = $_SESSION[gatekeeper]"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($query) or die(mysql_error())); { echo"<div class='BlockContent'>"; echo" <table id='UserList'>"; echo" <tr>"; echo" <th>My Account</th>"; echo" </tr>"; echo" <tr>"; echo" <td id='left'>"; echo" </td>"; echo" </tr>"; echo" </table>"; echo"</div>"; } ?> I've figured out how to change all of an arrays keys to lowercase: $lower_case_array = array_change_key_case($mixed_array, CASE_LOWER); But I can't seem to find a way to change the values of an array to lower case. Is there a simple way to do this? Problem - application produces MD5 PWs which are uppercase, code checks lowercase. Question- How to use uppercase check? Code: [Select] function checkPwd($x,$y) { //Checks if strings are empty if(empty($x) || empty($y) ) { //Strings were empty return false; } else if(strlen($x) < 4 || strlen($y) < 4) { //String length too short return false; } else if(strcmp($x,$y) != 0) { //Strings do not match return false; } else { //Password Determined valid return true; } } Question 2: Do I have to change it anywhere else, like PW generation? Code: [Select] function GenPwd($length = 7) { $password = ""; $possible = "0123456789bcdfghjkmnpqrstvwxyz"; //no vowels $i = 0; while ($i < $length) { $char = substr($possible, mt_rand(0, strlen($possible)-1), 1); if (!strstr($password, $char)) { $password .= $char; $i++; } } return $password; } function GenKey($length = 7) { $password = ""; $possible = "0123456789abcdefghijkmnopqrstuvwxyz"; $i = 0; while ($i < $length) { $char = substr($possible, mt_rand(0, strlen($possible)-1), 1); if (!strstr($password, $char)) { $password .= $char; $i++; } } return $password; } Thank you for reading okay so this is a pretty weird one but if it's possible it would be a much easier solution that the road I'll have to take. Is it possible to code for.. $description = insert a space between a lowercase and uppercase letter is found together and not currently having a space.. within the first 50 letters of the description. Code: [Select] if (substr($description,0,50) ?..... Thanks! Hi Friends, I am Anes I want to ensure all surnames are uppercase in php I use $surname = ucfirst(strtolower($dataField)); How do I ensure that any names such as O'Brien, don't result in O'brien thanks Hello: I have this little bit of code to pull all the towns and zip codes from a mySQL database: Code: [Select] <?php $result = mysql_query("SELECT zip_id,city,abbr_state,full_state,zip FROM zip_codes WHERE abbr_state = '" . mysql_real_escape_string ( $_GET['abbr_state'] ) . "' ORDER BY `city` ASC"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<a href=\"Stores.php?zip_id=".$row['zip_id']."\" title=\"My Products ". $row['city']. ", ". $row['abbr_state']." ". $row['zip']." | My Items ". $row['city']. ", ". $row['abbr_state']." ". $row['zip']."\">". $row['city']. ", ". $row['abbr_state']." ". $row['zip']."</a>"; echo "<div style=\"clear: both; margin-bottom: 15px;\"></div>"; } ?> Works fine (unless some can offer a way to "improve" the code). However, all of the City Names ($row['city']) were put into the database as ALL CAPITALS, which is a bit harder on the eyes to read. Is there a "PHP way" - working with the code I posted - that will transform the ALL CAPITALS to a more readable Capitalize (in other words, Capitalize just the first letter of each town). I know that CSS offers "text-transform" and if that is a solution I'm fine with that. I just need it to display that way, not re-write it in the database. Ideas? Solution? Thanks! Hi I have this script that saves data to a file, I was wondering how I can make the script write the title of the files in uppercase letters? I am new to coding mind I think is the relevent code: Code: [Select] foreach(array('daily','weekly','monthly') as $value) { $fp = fopen(DIR.$value.'_'.strtolower(str_replace('/', '', $data[$ccyValue][0])).'.csv', 'w'); if($fp) { $raw_data = array(${$value.'Pivot'}, ${$value.'_s1'}, ${$value.'_s2'}, ${$value.'_s3'}, ${$value.'_r1'}, ${$value.'_r2'}, ${$value.'_r3'}); $write_data = "Pivot, S1, S2, S3, R1, R2, R3\n"; $write_data .= implode(',', $raw_data); fwrite($fp,$write_data); fclose($fp); } else { die('Please make sure result folder is present or writable!'); } } } Thanks Antony Hello,
I try to get website speed of some website, but i can read only ''domain.com'' i can't read website files like css , js ... why ? i use proxies for this job.
here is the php code:
$options = array( 'useragent' => "Firefox (+http://www.firefox.org)", // who am i 'connecttimeout' => 120, // timeout on connect 'timeout' => 120, // timeout on response 'redirect' => 10, // stop after 10 redirects 'referer' => "http://www.google.com", 'proxyhost' =>'85.25.8.14:80' ); $response = http_get("http://solve-ict.com/wp-content/themes/ict%20theme/js/jquery-1.7.1.min.js", $options , $info);but it works fine with http://domain.com/ , but with files css or js it gives 404, using some free proxy servers available ? Thanks. Hi, I am trying to fetch a row in advance of the current one to find out if the next result is the same or not, and do something based on the outcome. I know how to do this with the old mysql functions like mysql_data_seek. What is the equivalent in PDO? I want the below sample to return row number 2, but it returns nothing no matter what number I set the offset to be. $readAhead = $resultParts->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC, PDO::FETCH_ORI_REL, 1) ; echo $readAhead['partNumber'] ; array(PDO::ATTR_CURSOR => PDO::CURSOR_SCROLL) is set in my prepare statement. Trying to get this done: Page_1 has many external links, when certain links are clicked i do not want user to go directly to page, but rather go to a special add page_2 where user must click a second time on the link to finally get there. The add page_2 must show on screen the name of the initial link from page_1, it must change accordingly with the link it came from page_1,once on page_2 the hyperlink redirects outside the site. So far i am thinking give an id to the div or "<a href..." on page_1 then somehow have page_2 detect that id and fill in the variable for the final external link. Other wise is there a way to detect a url from incoming? I guess a similar example is how some domain name sellers landing page will indicate the name of the site. Such as "Thisdomain.com" is for sale. same landing page but the name changes according to the domain that was typed. I got a question im using izabi for me im one who loves the software. But there some quirks that they forgot to add when making the mail system. I was wondering how it would be possible to code in a peice of php where it says read after someone read the email.
