PHP - Excel And A Cell With A Line Feed. How To Remove It?

Hello,
i am currently getting an Microsoft Excel formatted text file whose save type is .Txt from a URL.I used to open it and will change the save type  as excel file. Please suggest whether we can do this with php code.

currently my code is like this,

I have learned php coding by doing (looking for patterns and trying things) and I have hit a roadblock trying to modify a template that creates a delimited text file of products from an ecommerce site (Sunshop) for upload to google base. I have tried to search for the answer but I don't know what I don't know so I may not have put the right search terms in.  So I apologize if this has been addressed in the past.

  The script uses case to call up the contents of specific rows of the product table which I understand but in when I want to call up the manufacturer row Sunshop uses a reference number and then a different table called manufacturers with an ID row that matches the manufacturer row numbers (that are associated with each product) and then next to it a name row which contains the actual manuracturer names.  Can I put code in the case that will pull up the referenced name as opposed to just the numbers that are in the column?

This is what I have now that just calls up the cells from the manufacurer row:

The mfg refers to this part of the code in an array:

what im trying to do is take a youtube embed code find the URL code for that video and remove all other parts of the code keeping only the URL of the video
after i get the URL by it self then replace the http://www.youtube.com/ part of the URL with http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/

to do this i know that i need something like this to get the URL of the video
http://www.youtube.com/((?:v|cp)/[A-Za-z0-9\-_=]+)
but how to only return just the URL is something idk how to do

then use str_replace http://www.youtube.com/(?:v|cp)/" with  http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/

so in the end im asking if anyone know how to remove all other codes i dont want  and only keep the URL


this may have to be done using "regex" im not sure as i dont know to much about regex and what it can do but does sound like it would help lol

First problem fixed.
My second problem is if the result is 0X.XX,0 or 0X.XX,1 I would like to remove the first 0
The X.XX are numbers, but the 0 is not always there.

Here is my code:

For this code if try to print/echo it it is working fine it is displaying line by line, but using this variable ($message1) in the mail these <br /> are also visible.
Can any one guide me to resolve(to remove these tags from the message part) this issue.

Hi.

I want a simple textbox, that when submited, will replace very every new line, with the <br> tag.

What will happen, when it submits, it will take the contents of a textbox, add the <br> tag where a new line is suposed to be, and save the string to a MySQL Database.

I think this is the easiest way of allowing a user to edit what appears on a website when logged in, but if there is a easier way, then please tell me.

What I am trying to do, is a login page, and once logged in, you enter new text into the textbox, click submit, and on the website homepage, the main text will change to what was submitted. But if there is a new line, I think the only way in HTML to make one is to put a <br> tag, so I want the PHP to but that tag wherever there is a new line.

Sorry if I am confusing, I am not that advanced at PHP, but I would be very happy if you could supply me with the correct code. Time is running out...

i have to read a single line from a csv,  its a really big file and i only need one column. i need the response to be a string ,i made a search and found the following code but i dont have any idea how to get a single line from a single string per run .

I'm trying to incorporate a BBC Sport RSS Feed into my website.


The following code will show me the news feeds as text and I can include the url's as text also but want to turn this into a clickable url. How do I do this, I cant work it? please help.

I get an error when trying to add a link to my rss feed

<link>http://www.jobjar.co.uk/jobdetails.php?keywords=lon0014&page=1</link>Something to do with the last part of the link because when I remove the page=1 it then works. How can I resolve this?

Also, will I have to manually update my xml file for rss feeds or can it be updated automatically? If so how?

I'm lost on this one. This code works fine in Firefox, but not my IE8. I think it has something to do with the <?php echo '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>'; ?> line, but i'm not sure. IE says "Internet Explorer cannot display this feed" and "A name contained an invalid character. Line: 7 Character: 701." Any ideas?

I have a script that reads a .gz file into an array and prints the name of each record but will not work on larger files. Is there a way to read 1 line at a time?

I am trying to export a table into excel and it is working, kind of..

I'm trying to import data that has commas in it.  Unfortunately, it looks like this "PHP to CVS" process is comma delimited.

How can I get around that, while having the data in the correct columns?

Hi

I have a database set up using MySQL and want to be able to query this and then export to Excel using PHP.  I've had a look around on the web but a lot of what I'm reading is going over my head.  I don't have PEAR so can't use the ready made stuff. 

Basically, I want to be able to query the database, then export the arrays to an excel file and a pop up to appear asking the user to open / save / cancel (standard pop-up)

Anyone know of any good places to start looking for the information for this?

Sorry, I'm new to all this so any help / pointers would be greatly appreciated.
