Hi all, Just curious why this works: Code: [Select] while (($data = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE){ $import="INSERT into $prodtblname ($csvheaders1) values('$data[0]','$data[1]','$data[2]','$data[3]','$data[4]','$data[5]','$data[6]')"; } And this does not: $headdata_1 = "'$data[0]','$data[1]','$data[2]','$data[3]','$data[4]','$data[5]','$data[6]'"; while (($data = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE){ $import="INSERT into $prodtblname ($csvheaders1) values($headdata_1)"; }it puts $data[#'s] in the database fields instead of the actual data that '$data[0]','$data[1]'... relates to. I wrote a script to create the values in $headdata_1 based on the number of headers in $csvheaders1 but can't seem to get it working in the sql statement. Thanks I want to create an application for sending mails using PHPMailer by placing it on my website server (using SMTP), but I can not get object of class phpmailer to change its properties of: to_name to_email ContentType from default (i.e. null). Why are the properties keeping default values from the PHPMailer class, and not accepting my once, though I check values i get from DB and they are good. ContentType is set in a config file. Here is part of var_dump ($mailer); object of my extended class: object(MyMailer)#2 (56) { ["priority"]=> int(3) ["to_name"]=> NULL ["to_email"]=> NULL ... ["ContentType"]=> string(10) "text/plain"... also I get value of ["Port"]=> int(26) but ["SMTP_PORT"]=> int(25). I need to use smtp port 26. And here is the extended class of phpmailer require_once './PHPMailer/class.phpmailer.php'; require_once 'mailer-config.php'; class MyMailer extends PHPMailer { var $priority = 3; var $to_name = null; var $to_email = null; var $From = null; var $FromName = null; var $Sender = null; var $ContentType = null; function MyMailer() { global $eSlanje; // Comes from mailer-config.php $eSlanje array if($eSlanje['smtp_mode'] == 'enabled') { $this->Host = $eSlanje['smtp_host']; $this->Port = $eSlanje['smtp_port']; if($eSlanje['smtp_username'] != '') { $this->SMTPAuth = true; $this->Username = $eSlanje['smtp_username']; $this->Password = $eSlanje['smtp_password']; } $this->Mailer = "smtp"; } if(!$this->From) { $this->From = $eSlanje['from_email']; } if(!$this->FromName) { $this->FromName = $eSlanje['from_name']; } if(!$this->Sender) { $this->Sender = $eSlanje['from_email']; } $this->Priority = $this->priority; //echo "<br>eSlanje[content_type]"; //var_dump ($eSlanje['content_type']); $this->ContentType = $eSlanje['content_type']; } } and here is the cofig file: mailer-config.php <?php $eSlanje['from_email'] = "hi@mysite.com"; $eSlanje['from_name'] = "Joe Blog"; $eSlanje['title'] = "hi there"; $eSlanje['content_type'] ="text/html"; $eSlanje['smtp_username'] = null; $eSlanje['smtp_mode'] = "enabled"; $eSlanje['smtp_port'] = 26; $eSlanje['smtp_host'] = "mail.mysite.com"; Here is where I insert values of email and name into the object: <?php session_start(); include ("password.php"); require_once 'class_lib/MyMailer.php'; require "class_lib/MySQL_Database.php"; require "get_email_template.php"; $db = new MySQL_Database (); $id = isset($_GET['id']) ? $_GET['id'] : false; $sql = "select email,ime from ".TABLE." where id = $id"; $query = mysql_query ($sql); $toClient = mysql_fetch_array($query); $to = isset($toClient['email']) ? $toClient['email'] : false; var_dump($to); // here I get a valid email address $to_name = isset($toClient['ime']) ? $toClient['ime'] : false; //var_dump($to_name); // here I get a valid preson's name $mailer = new MyMailer(); $mailer->AddAddress($to, $to_name); $mailer->Body = get_htmlBody(); $mailer->AltBody = get_txtBody(); if(!$mailer->Send()) { echo "<br> Mailer Error: " . $mailer->ErrorInfo." "; } else { echo "<br>message not sent  "; } $mailer->ClearAddresses(); var_dump($mailer); // this is where the object trace comes from ?> Hello there
After a few years of spending less and less time coding, I've got a lot of catching up to do. Back when I left I usually would run without classes. Now this is a big deal for me today.
I do understand the concept of classes and already did some working models, mostly from my learning process.
Now here is what is bothering me:
<?PHP class database { // Variables public $test; // Constructor public function __construct() { $test = "4"; } // Functions // public function test() { var_dump($this->test); } } $test = new database; $test->test(); ?>Wether I run this script on itself, nor through another file, this does work. What i get is: NULL The constructor does run, I did an echo inside it. Also it does not matter if the variable is public, private or protected - it will be always NULL. Error_reporting is on E_ALL, does not show any errors. What have I overlooked? i use csv file reader class to read csv file...... i need to understand where i should create the sessions array so that i dont have to go back to this class everytime to reteive data..... I am rebuilding a CMS system that I have been developing over the last ~6 years. It needs to have many different kinds of modules depending on the installation (Like Drupal or Joomla does) I have a Core class that does the major processing. I am currently developing the part of the system that loads the actual module into the index.php page. While experimenting I came up with an idea that is probably really horrible but I started to wonder if maybe it could actually work well. I am looking for feedback on this Core class function: Code: [Select] public function LoadMods($ModsToLoad) { foreach ($ModsToLoad as $mod) { $MainFile = ABSPATH.DS.$mod.DS.'main.php'; if (file_exists($MainFile)) include ($MainFile); else $this->_MAIN .= 'Error: The "main" file for "'.$mod.'" module could not be found<br/>'; } } It will receive an array of Module names and those names correspond to a directory that holds the "main.php" file for that module. Example: index.php?mod=Photos Will load the "Photos" module. Here is the thing that has me concerned... A module might have it's own class or classes and that class will likely get included in the "main.php" file for that module. What effect is that going to have on my core class because it starts nesting classes inside classes. Is this an efficiency advantage or am I heading down a road paved by code stink? What's you opinion? I have 2 php files. I am unable to get B's global variable from A's static method: A.php Code: [Select] class c_A { public static function f_A() { include_once( "B.php" ) ; print f_B() ; } } c_A::f_A( ); // only prints "B : " B.php Code: [Select] $gvs = "global variable from B" ; function f_B() { return "B : " . $GLOBALS[ "gvs" ] ; } any thoughts? thanks, Shannon I want to create a singleton class that read multidimensional array from txt file and flatten the array retrieved. Hello, New to file upload boxes, working in PHP. My code seems to work great in IE, but not in Firefox or Chrome. This form shows the input box for the filename in IE and Firefox (with a Browse button), but Chrome only shows the Browse button, no filename box. <form enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" action="profile.php"> <input type="file" size="32" name="image_field_photo" value=""> <br><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Upload"> IE will upload the file to the specified directory, then update the DB based on the filename. Firefox will not upload the file, nor will Chrome. Using SSL for all pages. Using an upload class I got off PHPClasses.org - what's weird is I have used this same class on another project, and can upload files via Chrome. Any ideas? Thanks! Hi Still very new to PHP but getting some good use out of it with includes. I'm currently using this code to check the file name of the page and then give the corresponding anchor tag a class of active in order to style my main menu. This is all working for most of my pages but my problem is that I now have multiple files called index.php one in the root of my site and some are in folders. Is there any way around this issue? Can PHP check to see if its the index file in the root of the site or is there a better way. I suppose I could create a second variable in the index file in my root ie my home page and then check to say if the current page is called index and has the variable of home but how would I write this? My code Code: [Select] $currentPage = basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'], '.php'); <li><a href="/" <?php if ($currentPage == 'index') {echo 'class="active"';} ?>>Home</a></li> I am pretty new to php and trying to teach myself. I can't get the values from this form to write to my flat file called orders.txt: browse_index.php <?php include("includes/menu_members.php") ?> <div id="content"> <h1>SHOPPING CART</h1> <a href="browse_index.php">CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE SHOPPING</a> <?php echo ' <table border="0"> <tr> <td><form id="f2" method="post"name="f2"><input type="submit" action="order_summary.php" name="submit2" value="submit order"></td> '; if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $itemname = $_POST['h1']; //echo $_SESSION['itemname'][$itemname]; unset($_SESSION['itemqty'][$itemname]); unset($_SESSION['itemprice'][$itemname]); unset($_SESSION['itemname'][$itemname]); } echo "<br/><br/>"; echo "<table border='8' bgcolor='#efefef'>"; echo "<tr><th>Name</th><th>Quantity</th><th>Price</th><th>Subtotal</th></tr>"; foreach($_SESSION['itemname'] as $key=>$value) { echo '<tr><td><b>'.$_SESSION['itemname'][$key].'</b></td> <td>'.$_SESSION['itemqty'][$key].'</td> <td>$'.$_SESSION['itemprice'][$key].'</td> <td name="subtotal">$'.($_SESSION['itemqty'][$key] * $_SESSION['itemprice'][$key]).'</td> <td><form id="f1" method="post" name="f1"><input type="submit" name="submit" value = "delete"><input type="hidden" name="h1" value='.$key.'></td></tr>' ; } ?> order_summary.php: <?php session_start (); $date = date ("H:i jS F"); $outputstring = $date."/t" .$_POST['h1']. ":" .$_SESSION['itemqty'][$key]. ":" .$_SESSION['subtotal'][$key]. ":" ."\n"; $fp = fopen("orders.txt","a"); fwrite($fp, $outputstring); fclose($fp); ?> Can someone direct me where I am going wrong??? I have mysqli object in Database class base: [color=]database class:[/color] class Database { private $dbLink = null; public function __construct() { if (is_null($this->dbLink)) { // load db information to connect $init_array = parse_ini_file("../init.ini.inc", true); $this->dbLink = new mysqli($init_array['database']['host'], $init_array['database']['usr'], $init_array['database']['pwd'], $init_array['database']['db']); if (mysqli_connect_errno()) { $this->dbLink = null; } } } public function __destruct() { $this->dbLink->close(); } } Class derived is Articles where I use object dBLink in base (or parent) class and I can't access to mysqli methods (dbLink member of base class): Articles class: require_once ('./includes/db.inc'); class Articles extends Database{ private $id, .... .... $visible = null; public function __construct() { // Set date as 2009-07-08 07:35:00 $this->lastUpdDate = date('Y-m-d H:i:s'); $this->creationDate = date('Y-m-d H:i:s'); } // Setter .... .... // Getter .... .... public function getArticlesByPosition($numArticles) { if ($result = $this->dbLink->query('SELECT * FROM articles ORDER BY position LIMIT '.$numArticles)) { $i = 0; while ($ret = $result->fetch_array(MYSQLI_ASSOC)) { $arts[$i] = $ret; } $result->close(); return $arts; } } } In my front page php I use article class: include_once('./includes/articles.inc'); $articlesObj = new articles(); $articles = $articlesObj->getArticlesByPosition(1); var_dump($articles); [color=]Error that go out is follow[/color] Notice: Undefined property: Articles::$dbLink in articles.inc on line 89 Fatal error: Call to a member function query() on a non-object in articles.inc on line 89 If I remove constructor on derived class Articles result don't change Please help me Ok. I know you can pass the object of a class as an argument. Example: class A { function test() { echo "This is TEST from class A"; } } class B { function __construct( $obj ) { $this->a = $obj; } function test() { $this->a->test(); } } Then you could do: $a = new A(); $b = new B($a); Ok so that's one way i know of. I also thought that you could make a method static, and do this: (assuming class A's test is 'static') class B { function test() { A::test(); } } But that is not working. I'd like to know all possible ways of accomplishing this. Any hints are appreciated. thanks I have an existing instance of my class Database, now I want to call that instance in my Session class, how would I go about doing this? Hi Can you call Class A's methods or properties from Class B's methods? Thanks. If a class has a constructor but also has a static method, if I call the static method does the constructor run so that I can use an output from the constructor in my static method? --Kenoli Hi, I need to be able to call a class based on variables. E.G. I would normally do: Code: [Select] $action = new pattern1() but i would like to be able to do it dynamicaly: Code: [Select] $patNum = 1; $action = new pattern.$patNum.() Im wondering if that's possible? If so what would the correct syntax be? Many Thanks. Dear All Members here is my table data.. (4 Columns/1row in mysql table)

Thank You Edited February 8, 2020 by karthicbabuHi, My company has 240+ locations and as such some users (general managers) cover multiple sites. When I run a query to pull user information, when the user has multiple sites to his or her name, its adds the second / third sites to the next columns, rather than wrapping it inside the same table cell. It also works the opposite way, if a piece of data is missing in the database and is blank, its pull the following columns in. Both cases mess up the table and formatting. I'm extremely new to any kind of programming and maybe this isn't the forum for this question but figured I'd give it a chance since I'm stuck. The HTML/PHP code is below: <table id="datatables-column-search-select-inputs" class="table table-striped" style="width:100%"> <thead> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>FirstName</th> <th>LastName</th> <th>Username</th> <th>Phone #</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Title</th> <th>Role</th> <th>Actions</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <?php //QUERY TO SELECT ALL USERS FROM DATABASE $query = "SELECT * FROM users"; $select_users = mysqli_query($connection,$query);

// POPULATES DATA INTO THE TABLE echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>{$user_id}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_firstname}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_lastname}</td>"; echo "<td>{$username}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_phone}</td>";
