PHP - Server-paths - Absolute And Relative In A Linux-[opensuse 11.4] Lampp-system

Hi,

I am trying to load a block of code for all operating systems except Linux.

I have the following code. Does it look ok?- I am not too sure what to put in the IF statement.

hello and good day dear Linux-experts,

i want to install a new opensuse linux on a notebook. i want to upgrade is the following:

this one: Akoya P 6512 15" OpenSuse 13.1: AMD Athlon X2 P320, 2,10 GHz, 4 GB 320 GB hdd-drive

what is wanted:
i want to do a total fresh installation
i want to have not tooo much partitions!
i only want to run opensuse 13.2
i want to have some kind of native linux partitions - such as ext 4 - #


what do you suggest - should go with the new default BTRFS file system?!?

note: i want to erase all the existing partition logic /(that is currently existing)

I am trying to load an xml file but I can't seem to find the location to load it.
Here is the location of the xml file:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\php\webphp.xml

Here is the location of the file trying to load the xml:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\php\gui\guiindex.php

What location would I put in he

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, a search of the forum didn't turn anything up so i'll ask away.

I'm trying to fetch urls from a document on my server and convert them into absolute urls.  I can extract them but some of my links use ../ or ./.  I think i've solved the ./ one but I can't find anything on getting the url when ../ is used.

As an example some urls use ../index.php when in a directory so http://www.example.com/dir/test.php, so a url of ../index.php from here would land the user on http://www.example.com/index.php.  At the moment it's landing on http://www.example.com/../index.php.

Any ideas?  Help would be appreciated

I run php5 apache 2.2 with mysql4 on my local machine

I prefer relative addresses.

Can someone help with the correct syntax to call... say.. the Home page (index.php)  in the root directory with something like <a href="../"  (../ takes me back too far) when called internally

At the moment I have to stipulate eg.  <a href=index.php> etc

I'm trying to have my index.php to open/run another test.php file.
I'm having my own server that I play with, that I run Ubuntu on.

So the index.php are located at /var/www/ directory, but I want to run a file that are located at /testing/test.php

The final test.php is file for showing pictures, and I don't want to out all the pictures under the /var/www/ location.  It's alot  of photos.
I don't know much about php but I have been trying this:

From what I understand, PHP doesn't want to include the same files from different relative paths; you either need to use absolute paths or change the directory structure so that the included files are accessed through the exact same relative path. Is this correct? I find that if I move pageone.php to the admin folder and make the relative path the same, it does work.

I have to say, I'm leery of using absolute paths; and if I'm understanding this correctly, you're really constrained on how you set up your directory structure. Comments?

Well I have been working on Php for quite sometime but creating Word Docs is something I am totally new to. I googled about this and found different methods of creating word documents via php. The most promising one that I found involves writing HTML code and inside header, save it as a *.doc file (I know thats not exactly a Word File but what else can be done). Like this,

The whole word document came out perfectly fine, but there was one little problem (later on turned out to be the BIGGEST one) was placing images in the document. All the images were saved on a secure server so like we do in HTML, I used the following line of code,

The word document appeared to be fine for me, but when that document was sent to the client, client was unable to view the images. Now, I guess you all know what my question would be, and that is, is there a way we could somehow make this work. I even tried downloading all the images to disk and giving their path, still in the end, the document only needs to be sent to the client and images do not appear.

Given a directory - folder1/subfolder1, I would like to loop through all subdirectories under the given directory and return the file path relative to the given directory.

Example:

the file path for File1 should be FolderB/SubFolderB/SubSubFolderA/

Any ideas?

The information on the php.net documentation seems to be out of date.   http://php.net/manua...databases.mssql   as the link to the necessary libraries for Linux is broken.    Can you tell me, or point me to what is needed to connect to MSSQL with PHP 5.3.3/Apache  on Red Hat Linux   If there is more than one option, we would like to know what they are and the installation details.   Thanks

This connects fine. However, I don't know how to log in now. If I'm connecting from the terminal I then type "user annie" followed by "pass idontlikesand". I don't know how to pipe this in using php.
