I cant figure out how to add $recieved into this
needs to take place of time hope someone knows how to do this what im doing is adding in the UNIX time i want to offset Code: [Select] <?php $offset = date('m/d/Y/H:i:s', time()+$send1['time_offset']); ?> Similar TutorialsI'm getting this Time Zone error. Perhaps it's a compatibility issue with PHP 5.3. Looked all over for an answer without finding one. Here is the error message Warning: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EST/-5.0/no DST' instead in /blocked.php on line 41 12/02/12 Here is the code. Line 41 is near the bottom, the one with the d,m,y. Perhaps the echo date (d/m/y") needs to be changed. Appreciate any help! Code: [Select] <table border="3" width="16%" align="center" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#FF6600" bordercolor="red" bordercolordark="red" bordercolorlight="red"> <tr> <td width="176"> <p align="center"><?php // shows IP Number on Page echo $ip; ?> </p> </td> </tr> </table> <p align="center"><?php // Show the user agent echo 'Your user agent is: <b>'.$_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'].'</b><br />';?></p> [b]<h1 align="center"><?php echo date("d/m/y");?></h1>[/b] </td> </tr> </table [,code] Hi all. In my database, i have a column recurring which is derived from a multiple option form field with values: Weekly, Bi-Monthly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly. I want to have as next due the current date plus the recurring value. eg current date = 2014-11-24 recurring = monthly next due = current date + recurring (in the next due will be 2014-12-24) so i did: $stmt = $pdo->query("SELECT recurring, due_date FROM $table"); while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { $recur = $row['recurring']; $date_due = $row['due_date']; } $weekly = "Weekly"; $bi_monthly = "Bi-Monthly"; $monthly = "Monthly"; $quarterly = "Quarterly"; $half_yearly = "Half Yearly"; $yearly = "Yearly"; if(strcmp($recur, $weekly) == 0){ $recurs = "7 DAY"; }elseif(strcmp($recur, $bi_monthly) == 0){ $recurs = "14 DAY"; }elseif(strcmp($recur, $monthly) == 0){ $recurs = "1 MONTH"; }elseif(strcmp($recur, $quarterly) == 0){ $recurs = "3 MONTH"; }elseif(strcmp($recur, $half_yearly) == 0){ $recurs = "6 MONTH"; }elseif(strcmp($recur, $yearly) == 0){ $recurs = "1 YEAR"; } $stmt = $pdo->query("SELECT ADDDATE('$date_due', INTERVAL $recurs) as nex_due FROM $table"); $row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); $nex_due = $row['nex_due']; $stmt = $pdo->prepare("SELECT * FROM $table ORDER BY trans_id DESC"); $stmt->execute(); $num_rows = $stmt->rowCount(); while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { // Print out the contents of each row into a table echo "<tr><td>"; echo $row['trans_ref']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['acct_num']; echo "</td><td>"; echo ucwords($row['payee']); echo "</td><td>"; echo ucwords($row['company']); echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['acct_no']; echo "</td><td>"; echo number_format($row['amt'],2); echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['purpose']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['recurring']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['due_date']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $nex_due; echo "</td><td>"; echo "<strong>".$row['status']."</strong>"; echo "</td><td>"; echo "<strong>".$row['pay_status']."</strong>"; echo "</td><td>"; } The problem is that it's giving me as next due the value of the first row even when the recurring is different! I must admit that dates and timestamps really confuse me! I have a query that gets a field named "date_purchased" and returns it like this "2010-09-05 09:58:12" What I need to do is add one year to the date, and display it like this "September 5, 2011" Basically, it's displaying the end date of a one year subscription. The database captures the purchase date with the order, so I want to grab that, add a year, and display it to the customer. Any help would be most appreciated! Hello all, I have some piece of code that is nested like this $variable = 'This is a global argument'; function parentFunction($variable) { function childFunction() { echo 'Argument of the parent function is '.$GLOBALS['variable']; } childFunction(); } parentFunction(5); What I want to know is - Is there a way to access a variable from the parent function without passing arguments to the child function? (Something like how classes have parent::?). I don't want to use $GLOBALS because it might cause some variable collision, and I didn't want to pass arguments because incase I decide to change the arguments in the parent function I'd have to do it in the child function aswell. From my searching around in the Internet it seems like this is not possible, but if theres a slight chance that there might be something out there, i'm willing to give it a shot . Thanks in advance I want to users can setup time difference in hours, but I dont know how to solve this. Here is script for localtime: $date_format = 'd.m.Y H:i'; $timezone = new DateTimeZone("Europe/Berlin"); $date = new DateTime(); $date->setTimezone($timezone); echo "<div align='right'> Today is " . $date->format("$date_format") . "</div>"; Now I have $user_time in config and users can change this value (example: +1 hours, -3 hours etc...). Users time settings ($user_time) are saved in database. How to display time based on user_time (ex. $date->format("$date_format") ) to display message like this: Today is 16.09.2010 18 (+$user_time) : 40 I am having a problem making this work. It adds and deletes but it does it by passing the date directly to the PHP files and refreshing the screen. I want it to do it through the jquery Ajax script. This should work according to what I have read but no mater what I try the jquery script does not work.

Code: I want to define a function instead of repeating query in all my php pages. I call a function by passing an $id value and from that function i have to get all the info related to that id, like name, description and uom.
I am trying to do this, but i dont know how to get these values seperately.
here is my function
function items($item_id) { $details = array(); $result = mysql_query("select item_id, name, uom, description from items where item_id=".$item_id."") or die (mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $details[] = array((stripslashes($row['name'])), (stripslashes($row['uom'])), (stripslashes($row['description']))); } return $details; }and i call my function like this $info = items($id); Can somebody guide me in this Hi all, I am trying to add the echo " AND "; below to the variable $model if the $_POST['purchasetype'] has a value. how can you add echos within IF statements to a variable, if at all possible? Many thanks, <?php if ($_POST[model] !="") { $model = "model='". $_POST['model'] ."'"; if ($_POST['purchasetype'] !="") { echo " AND "; } } else { $model = ""; } ?> SOLVED Hi im trying to set that if a certain statement is echoed then set variables to an amount but they dont seem to be inserting into the table Code: [Select] if ($match_qutoe == "".$username2." lands a uppercut"){ $points = "4"; $fighter = $username2; } $query = mysql_query("INSERT INTO fight (bluecornerusername, redcornerusername, round, fighter, points, statement) VALUES('$username', '$username2', '$round', '$fighter', '$points', '$match_quote')"); its only $points and $fighter that are not inserting Thanks I have a function that get's a quick single item from a query: function gimme($sql) { global $mysqli; global $mytable; global $sid; $query = "SELECT ".$sql." FROM ".$mytable." WHERE sid = ".$sid; $result = $mysqli->query($query); $value = $result->fetch_array(MYSQLI_NUM); $$sql = is_array($value) ? $value[0] : ""; return $$sql; // this is what I've tried so far $result->close(); } It works great as: echo(gimme("name")); Then I realized that I could use that as a variable ('$name' in this case) elsewhere. However, I can't figure out how get that new, variable variable 'outside' of the function. As such, echo($name); isn't working outside the function. Is there a way to return a variable variable? In other words, is there a way to make a function that creates a variable variable that will available outside of the function?
Thanks
Hi, I have two variables: $latest_note and $notes. Whenever I update $latest_note, I also want this (and today's date) to be added to $notes, such that $notes becomes a sort of archive of all of the latest notes, listed by date. I tried creating a third variable called $full_notes and saying $full_notes = $latest_note.$notes; ... then when I run my mysql update, I set notes='$full_notes' but it's not working properly. Is there a way to simply add one variable to the beginning of another in the db directly, concatenating the two? Thanks! Hi, I'm just starting PHP and I ran into a simple problem (that I can fix), but I just want to understand why my first approach doesn't work. I was testing multiplications and additions and the result I got was unexpected. Here is the code that doesn't work: Code: [Select] <?php $number1 = 5; $number2 = 10; print $number1." multiplied by ".$number2." + 1000 = ".$number1*$number2+1000; ?> Obviously, what I want as a result when I'm displaying the page is: "5 multiplied by 10 + 1000 = 1050" What I get: "1005". That's right, nothing else. On top of getting an erroneous answer, the sentence that's supposed to display right before the equation doesn't display at all. It's even worse if I switch it around like that: Code: [Select] print $number1." multiplied by ".$number2." + 1000 = ".1000+$number1*$number2; I get an error message and nothing displays. The obvious solution works: using a parenthesis at the beginning and at the end of the equation, which I should do regardless, but still, it's bugging me and since I just started learning PHP today, I want to understand how the code is compiled / interpreted so I don't make stupid mistakes like this one. Thanks in advance for the replies. This topic has been moved to MySQL Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=342459.0 Hey guys! I have the following doubt, I have a Date value and I want to add to that date 30 seconds plus. Example: Code: [Select] $last_time = date('D M j H:i:s \G\M\TO Y'); //echo: Thu Mar 10 18:33:48 GMT-0300 2011 I need the following date: Thu Mar 10 18:33:48 GMT-0300 2011 to become: Thu Mar 10 18:34:18 GMT-0300 2011 This means that the retrieved Date now has 30 more seconds... Any ideas?? Looking forward to any help, Thanks a lot in advance, Cheers! Hi I'm having a problem getting a query to work. I have a simple form with user input for start and end date with format: 2009-03-19 (todays date): $Startdate = $_POST['date']; This works well when something is entered into the form, and afterwards using my query: SELECT COUNT(*) as total FROM mydb WHERE Date BETWEEN '$Startdate' AND '$EndDate' ........ Problem is if user submits the form without entering anything in the date input fields, which makes sense. I want to check if inputs has been made, and if not set af default date, but can't make it work: if (isset($_POST['date']) && $_POST['date'] !='') { $Startdate = $_POST['date'];} else { $Startdate = '1980-01-01';} How can I set $Startdate to something that can be used in the query as below doesn't work? Hi im having some trouble when i try to add values to an array from a function. The added value will not stay saved. fun1 will display both firstname and surname but when i call fun2 after calling fun1 i just get the firstname. I would like to have it so the array is updated and stays updated untill it is cleared or over written. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. i am using codeigniter if that makes any difference. Thanks <?php class Test extends Controller { var $data1 = array( 'firstname' => 'craig' ); function fun1() { global $data1; $this->data1['surname'] = 'brute'; echo "<pre>"; print_r($this->data1); } function fun2() { global $data1; echo "<pre>"; print_r($this->data1); } } i just want to display the values form database which i have saved before and just want to be displayed when specific time comes as i told above in e.g if i have stored some thing like value let say ( 10,20,30,40 and so on ) in database now i just want a php code to display it on site but on specific time only like this, i time = 10:00am display value = 10 when time = 10:30am display value = 20 when time = 11:00am display value = 30 and so own simple.
