PHP - Seperating Form Values With Arrays!!!
This is really cool if I can get it to work
My PHP CODE: Code: [Select] $ids = implode (",", $ibforums->input['checkbox']); Grabs from this data in my HTML FORM: Code: [Select] <input name="checkbox[]" type="checkbox" value="{$r['id']},{$r['friendid']}"> Now when I pass my input, I will get 2 different values in both array's how do I separate them out? I know how to seperate them out using implode, but I need to seperate BOTH of the array's that are being passed, and I need to use them separately. Similar TutorialsI am very grateful for any input. I have a field in a database that contains references (pattern: authorYYYY), such as the following string:
"authorA1989; authorB1978a; authorB1984; authorC1999; authorC2000a; authorC2000b; authorC2002; authorD2009"
What I want is an output as the following in order to create a proper bibliography (therefore accessing another table and picking out the respective reference details):
authorA
1989
authorB
1978a
1984
authorC
1999
2000a
2000b
2002
authorD
2009
I somewhat fail to group the values (years) per author. I know that keys are unique, but is there a way to work around this?
Many thanks for any help!
Hi guys,
I wonder if you can offer any advice?
I have two user database tables that are about 70% identical. The problem is that with one of them, the phone number for each user has been cut short by two digits (it was an error on my part early on in the database design).
What I need to do is to get the values from both tables and put them into separate arrays then compare the arrays in a loop. If, say, the first five digits of the phone number in each row of the first table match one entry in the second table then update the second table with the phone number (the full length one).
I'm about puzzled about how to approach this, I've still got a lot to learn about array functions, it seems like it should be fairly simple but I'm a bit lost as to where to begin.
Any advice would be massively appreciated!
I have a really confusing question. I dynamically generate arrays, but for the simplicity of the example we can just use two arrays. Code: [Select] Array 1 ( [0] = 1 [1] = 5 ) Array 2 ( [0] = 2 [1] = 6 ) How can I make the arrays multiple based on the same key value? array 1[0] * array 2[0] = 2 array 1[1] * array 2[1] = 30 I then want to sum the total of the multiplication. $total = 2 + 30; I need to do this to calculate covariance for a statistics procedure I am trying to run but I can't wrap my head around how to do the logic. This has kept me busy for a couple of hours. I have two arrays that I would like to compare against each other to see matches and otherwise. Simple enough, right? foreach ($array1 as $value){ if (in_array($value, $array2)) { echo $value."-FOUND<br />"; } else { echo $value."-NOT!<br />"; } } Using print_r I can CLEARLY see matches: Code: [Select] array1 = Array ( [0] => CHARLES [1] => TOM [2] => DICK [3] => HARRY) array2 = Array ( [0] => HARRY [1] => DICK [2] => TOM [3] => CHARLES) The only difference I can see is the keys - but why should that matter for what I'm trying to do? Both arrays were converted to uppercase. I have done variations of search_array, array_intersect and array_unique - but absolutely nothing is working. 3 hours later and I'm no further then I started off. WTF? My array is $arr = array( 'global' => array( array('tabs', 'tabs', 'tabs', array( 'Main' => 'main', 'Gallery' => 'galleryID', 'mera' => 'mera', )), array('main','div', 'div'), array('egice', 'Eice', 'text', '', ''), array('closeHere', 'closeHere', 'closeHere'), array('galleryID','div', 'div'), array('gallery', 'Gallery #1', 'image', '', ''), array('closeHere', 'closeHere', 'closeHere'), array('networking', 'div', 'div'), array('siLype', 'SiLype', 'text', '', ''), array('gpXCge', 'GpXCge', 'toggle_button', '1', 'Yes', 'No', ''), array('closeHere', 'closeHere', 'closeHere'), array('mera', 'div', 'div'), array('maimera', 'Maimera', 'repeatedText', 'resYI', 'GYL',''), array('closeHere', 'closeHere', 'closeHere'), array( 'moures','div', 'div'), array('meLmo', 'MeLmo', 'text', '', ''), array('cYSlot', 'CYSlot', 'text', '', ''), array('closeHere', 'closeHere', 'closeHere'), array('clT', 'clT', 'clT'), ), );
Simply, I want to split the main array to multiple arrays
I had tried here to do it but I can’t I was wondering how you would go about separating words with commas between them into an array. In this case I want users to be able to message multiple other users by entering their names in the following format: user1, user2, user3, user4 and then have php separate those into an array so I can then run them through a foreach(); so they can be sent to the correct users... Any help or functions I should look into would be great... code not necessary, just point me in the right direction thanks! Hi.
I have an HTML template that I'm going to use for my CMS, and need some advice on the best way to split it up into common elements used across all pages.
I've identified the common HTML and have written functions to include each. I've used functions instead of directly including them on the page for flexibility in the future.(wise?)
/* functions.php */ function show_style() { include_once 'module-style.php'; } function show_header() { include_once 'module-header.php'; } function show_sidebar() { include_once 'module-sidebar.php'; } function show_footer() { include_once 'module-footer.php'; } function show_js() { include_once 'module-js.php'; }And then on the page itself... <?php include_once 'functions.php'; ?> <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>My CMS</title> <meta charset="utf-8"> <?show_style()?> </head> <body> <?show_header()?> <!-- start section content--> <section class="section-content"> <?show_sidebar()?> <!-- start content --> <div class="content"> // PAGE CONTENT </div><!--/ end content --> </section> <!-- /end section content--> <?show_footer()?> <?show_js()?> </body> </html>A few questions - are there any issues with using the <? tag as opposed to <?php.... I've seen it used in templating before and want this to be as clean and readable as possible. Also would it be better to use a class for this, and include all of my functions within that class? Any advice or alternatives on the method used above would be great Edited by paddy_fields, 16 October 2014 - 03:50 AM. Hey, So I'm doing a school assignment and my professor wants us to use an array to display forms and I have no idea how to do that.
He wants us to create an array of arrays like this: display_form( array( "type" => "text", "name" => "first_name", "value" => "", "label" => "First Name" ), array( "type" => "text", "name" => "last_name", "value" => "", "label" => "Last Name" ), array( "type" => "email", "name" => "email", "value" => "", "label" => "Email" ), array( "type" => "number", "name" => "extension", "value" => "", "label" => "Extension" ) ); But I dont understand how you use that array to actually display the form. Does anyone know how? I am so over my head right now that I don't even know where to begin asking for help?! (This is regarding a Form which ask 10 Questions and then captures and processed up to 10 Answers.) Originally, I had an answerArray where I captured and process all User Answers to Questions, and all was beautiful in the universe! Then after being 95% done, I got the - not so brilliant - idea of dynamically generating my Q&A Form with Questions being pulled from the question table (along with Answers from the answer table). Based on a recommendation from gizmola (??), I created a SECOND Question & Answer multidimensional array - thoughtsArray - which pulled together the Questions and Answers. This made sense, because it is easier to populate the Form when the dataset is coming all from one place. The problem is two-fold at this point... 1.) Is it a good or bad design to have answerArray to capture and process Form inputs, and then a thoughtsArray for display purposes?? 2.) How do I design a Form which allows both my multidimensional thoughtsArray and my one-dimesnional answerArray to plug into it, specifically the name attribute?? Here was my original array... foreach($_POST['answerArray'] as $q => $a){ // Copy data from POST to PHP array. $answerArray[$q] = trim($a); if (strlen($answerArray[$q]) > 1024){ // Invalid Answer. $errors[$q] = 'Answer cannot exceed 1024 characters.'; } }//End of VALIDATE FORM DATA And here is my new display array... // Populate PHP array with Questions & Answers. $x=1; while (mysqli_stmt_fetch($stmt7)){ $thoughtsArray[$x] = array('questionID' => $questionID, 'questionText' => $questionText, 'answerText' => $answerText); $x=$x+1; } Here is how my original - pre automation - Form looked... <!-- Question 1 --> <label for="question1">1.) Why did you decide to start your own business?</label> <textarea id="question1" name="answerArray[1]" cols="60" rows="2"><?php if (isset($answerArray[1])){echo htmlentities($answerArray[1], ENT_QUOTES);} ?></textarea> <?php if (!empty($errors[1])){ echo '<br /><span class="error">' . $errors[1] . '</span>'; } ?> And here is my new Form - which works for displaying, but is now broken for processing... <?php foreach($thoughtsArray as $questionNo => $qaArray){ // Build Question. echo '<label for="question' . $questionNo . '">' . $questionNo . '.) ' . $qaArray['questionText'] . "\n"; // Build Answer. echo '<textarea id="question' . $questionNo . '" name="' . $qaArray["questionID"] . '" cols="60" rows="2">'; echo (isset($questionNo) ? htmlentities($qaArray['answerText'], ENT_QUOTES) : ''); echo "</textarea>\n\n"; } ?> Hope that all makes sense?! Debbie Hi there I am trying to send an array of items to delete from a form, receive them back to the page then enter them into another form and then send them back to the page. Basically its a delete then confirm delete thing. So I can send the array from the first form though I am not sure how to place them into the second (confirm delete) form. What I've got so far considering the array does get sent in the first place is First I receive the array: if (isset($_POST['delete'])) { if (isset($_POST['todelete'])){ $todelete[] = ($_POST['todelete']);////here is my problem I think echo <<<_END <div>Are you sure you wish to make these changes</div> <div><form action="" method="post"> <input type='hidden' name='todelete'value="$todelete"/> <input type='hidden' name='confirm'value="confirm"/> <input id='inputform' type='submit' size='50' value='Yes' /> </form> <form action="" method="post"> <input type='hidden' name='rollback'value='rollback' /> <input id='inputform' type='submit' size='50' value='No' /> </form></div> _END; } } Then I try and receive the array back with if (isset($_POST['confirm'])){ foreach ($_POST['todelete'] as $delete_id) { $query ="DELETE FROM gallery WHERE id = $delete_id"; $result=mysql_query($query) or die("Invalid Query : ".mysql_error()); echo "Removing Data"; } } What I receive is a warning: 'Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in C:\wamp\www\css\enterphotos.php on line 91" I am sure that there is a simple solution! Can anyone help me here? In my form I have this: Code: [Select] <div class="confSub {conferences.confClass}"> <div> <input type="hidden" name="confPK" value="{conferences.confPK}"> <label>Conference Attended:</label><input size="85" name="conference[{conferences.confCounter}]" type="text" value="{conferences.conference}"/> <label>Date:</label><input size="20" name="confDate[{conferences.confCounter}]" type="text" value="{conferences.confDate}"/> <span class="example left"> ( YYYY-MM-DD )</span> <label class="fullLabel clearfix">Description and Benefit to the University:</label> <textarea name="confDesc[{conferences.confCounter}]" cols="90" rows="5">{conferences.confDesc}</textarea> <input class="checkbox clearfix" name="confPres[{conferences.confCounter}]" value="yes" type="checkbox" {conferences.checkedConf}/> <label class="midLabel">Conference Presentation?</label> <label class="clearfix">Title of Presentation:</label> <input class="pushLeft" size="85" name="confPresTitle[{conferences.confCounter}]" type="text" value="{conferences.ConfPresTitle}"/> </div> </div> I need to take the values of the same index for eachof five arrays ($_POST['conference'], $_POST['confDate'], $_POST['confDesc'], etc...) and insert/update them into a mysql table. So conference[0], confDate[0], confDesc[0], confPres[0], and confPresTitle[0] all need to go into the same index of their respective fields in the DB table. If it was one array I could just do something like: foreach($_POST['conference'] as $conference) { // Update Conference $degreeQuery = "UPDATE CONFERENCES SET Conference = '".$conference."', StaffPK1 = '".$getPK1."' WHERE ConferencePK1 ='".$confID."'"; $degreeQuery = mysql_query($degreeQuery); } I'm having trouble with how to add a value from each array into the sql table. I could do it through a different foreach loop for each array and iterate through all foreach loops with another loop, but that doesn't seem very efficient. I'd like to do it with one sql statement for each set of "conference" data. Thanks in advance, Shannon Hi, I have an HTML and a PHP script inserting data into DB. My problem is when i submit the form, one of the arrays cannot be posted to my PHP Script. The first SELECT-OPTION Values (mail_select[]) are being posted correctly, however the second SELECT-OPTION Values (OS[]) are not. It brings empty value at all. If i put OS[] SELECT TAG to first place, -i mean put it before mail_select[] SELECT TAG-, this time mail_select[] brings nothing. And OS[] is being posted correctly. What could the possible problems be? Here is the HTML: Code: [Select] bla..bla.. <html> <form id="SK" action="post.php" method="POST"> <tr> <td> <?php $conn = getConn(); mysql_select_db(getDBName(),$conn); $query = "select MEMBERS,NAME from mail;"; $result = mysql_query($query,$conn); echo "<form>"; echo "<select name=\"mail_select[]\" id=\"mail_select[]\" multiple=\"multiple\">"; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $NAME = $row['NAME ']; $MEMBERS = $row['MEMBERS']; echo "<option value='$MEMBERS'>$NAME</option>"; } echo "</select></form>"; mysql_close($conn); ?> </td> </tr> <tr><td> <?php $conn = getConn(); mysql_select_db(getDBName(),$conn); $query = "select mark from olsystem;"; $result = mysql_query($query,$conn); echo "<form style=\"margin:20px 0\">"; echo "<select name=\"OS[]\" id=\"OS[]\" multiple=\"multiple\">"; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $isim = $row['mark']; echo "<option value='$mark'>$mark</option>"; } echo "</select></form>"; mysql_close($conn); ?> </td> </tr> <tr height="40"><td width="170"><div class="rowElem"><input type="submit" value="GO!" /><input type="reset" value="Clear" /></div></td></tr> </form> </html> Here is my PHP script: Code: [Select] <?php include("DB.php"); if(isset($_POST['OS'])){ $OS = implode(",",$_POST['OS']); $mail_select = implode(",",$_POST['mail_select']); register($OS,$mail_select); } function register($OS,$mail_select) { $conn = getConn(); mysql_select_db(getDBName(),$conn); $query ="insert into outage(OS,mail_select) values ('$OS','$mail_select')"; mysql_query($query,$conn); if(mysql_affected_rows()>0){ BLA BLA } else { } mysql_close($conn); } ?> hi i was wondering how i can display the values for a form that already in db. users submitted a form and then when they log in to their profile they can change the value in a form, but the original value would show the one that they first submitted. makes sense? at the moment its set as blank, how would i display the option value to the one in the db on their profile? thanks Code: [Select] <form name="test" method="post"> <select name="ApplicationStatus"> <option value="'">------</option> <option value="In process">In process</option> <option value="Withdrawn">Withdrawn</option> </select> Hi, how would i display the date that is already in db and was submitted by user when he logs in to their profile? That code below works for the values like 'approved' 'denied' so on, but how would i do same for a date? thank you. Code: [Select] <?php include('config.php'); $uname=$_SESSION['username']; if($_SESSION['username']){ $sql="SELECT ApplicationStatus FROM table1 WHERE uname='$uname'"; $result=mysql_query($sql); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result);} echo '<form name="test" method="post"> <select name="ApplicationStatus"> <option value="">------</option> <option value="In process" '.(($row['column1']=='In process')?'selected="selected"':'').'>In process</option> <option value="Withdrawn" '.(($row['column1']=='Withdrawn')?'selected="selected"':'').'>Withdrawn</option> </select>'; ?> I have a form for a sign in page that I want the label for the form field to actually be displayed in the text box and clear when the box is selected to enter text. I've accomplished this using the code below and it works fine. The problem that I'm having is in IE the password field does not change to display dots or asterisk in place of each character. It works fine in Fire Fox but not in IE. Is there way to accomplish this using php or so that it is compatible with most browsers? Here's the code that I'm using: Code: [Select] <?php echo "<input type=\"text\" name=\"pword\" size=\"17\" value=\"Password...\" style=\"color: #999999\" onfocus=\"if (this.value == 'Password...') {this.value=''; this.style.color='#000000'; this.type='password';}\"> "; ?> I've got a form that submits values to itself and the user input values are saved into the database in a table with an auto incrementing ID. After SUBMIT is clicked, it reloads the page and all the values are gone, I'm wondering how I can get it to keep the values so that the user can make a single change and resubmit again. I know I can save all the values into the session or in the URL or pass them through $_POST in an array but I'm wondering what is the proper way to do this. Thanks. Hello Everyone.. Im a programer in php with little experience. I have a form with 3 pages. 1st page display categories which come from category table. then user can select 1 or upto 3 category there. Then 2nd page display that selected categories and need to display relevant subject to that categories. In second page I use radio button for selected categories to keep a one category as a main category. each categories' subjects display with check boxes. In there too, user can select 1 or 3 more subject in to a particular category. In third form page, that my problem was encounter, there I need to print out selected category and their subjects in a table. first two pages are no problem for me and third form I have a problem in how to get categories and their subjects and they print as apiece in the page. like this category1 | subject1, subject2, subject3 category2 | subject1, subject2, subject3, subject and so forth. This same to my first form page Code: [Select] $q = 'SELECT * FROM category ORDER BY category_id'; $r = mysqli_query( $dbc, $q); $c = 0; $i = 0; echo '<form action="subjects.php" method="post">'; echo '<table class="form_table" ><tr>'; while($row = mysqli_fetch_array( $r, MYSQLI_ASSOC )){ // if remainder is zero after 2 iterations (for 2 columns) and when $c > 0, end row and start a new row: if( ($c % 2) == 0 && $c != 0){ echo "</tr><tr>"; } echo '<td width="50%"><input type="checkbox" name="category[]" value="' . $row['category_id'] . '" /> ' . $row['category_name'] . '</td>'; $c++; } // while.. // in case you need to fill a last empty cell: if ( ( $i % 2 ) != 0 ){ // str_repeat() will be handy when you want more than 2 columns echo str_repeat( "<td> </td>", ( 2 - ( $i % 2 ) ) ); } echo "</tr></table>"; ?> In second page 'subjects.php' I use Code: [Select] if ( isset($_POST['submitted1']) && isset($_POST['category']) && sizeof( $_POST['category']) == 3 ) { $_SESSION['category'] = $_POST['category']; print_r ( $_SESSION['category']); $q = 'SELECT * FROM category ORDER BY category_id'; $r = mysqli_query( $dbc, $q); while($_SESSION = mysqli_fetch_array( $r, MYSQLI_ASSOC )){ foreach( $_POST['category'] as $value ) { if ( $value == $_SESSION['category_id']) { $q = "SELECT category_subject.category_id, category_subject.subject_id, subjects FROM category_subject INNER JOIN category ON category_subject.category_id = category.category_id INNER JOIN subject ON category_subject.subject_id = subject.subject_id WHERE category_subject.category_id = {$_SESSION['category_id']}"; $r1 = mysqli_query( $dbc, $q); $c = $i = 0; echo '<table class="form_table" ><tr>'; while($_SESSION = mysqli_fetch_array( $r1, MYSQLI_ASSOC )){ // if remainder is zero after 2 iterations (for 2 columns) and when $c > 0, end row and start a new row: if( ($c % 2) == 0 && $c != 0){ echo "</tr><tr>"; } echo '<td width="50%"><input type="checkbox" name="subject[]" value="' . $_SESSION['subject_id'] . '" /> ' . $_SESSION['subjects'] . '</td>'; $c++; } // while.. // in case you need to fill a last empty cell: if ( ( $i % 2 ) != 0 ){ // str_repeat() will be handy when you want more than 2 columns echo str_repeat( "<td> </td>", ( 2 - ( $i % 2 ) ) ); } echo "</tr></table>"; } } } } Those two pages working properly. In third page that my problem page I tried something like this , but its not working. value come from subject.php page. Code: [Select] if ( ( isset($_POST['submitted2'])) && ( isset($_SESSION['category'])) && (isset( $_SESSION['subjects'])) && sizeof( $_SESSION['category']) == 1) { //$_SESSION['category'] = $_POST['category']; print_r ( $_SESSION['category']); echo 'good'; } elseif ( ( isset($_POST['submitted2'])) && ( isset($_SESSION['category'])) && (isset( $_POST['main_category'] ))) { print_r ( $_SESSION ); echo 'very good'; } So can any body tell me where is my mistake and help me fix this problem. any help greatly appreciated. thank you. On one of my calculators : https://bizztools.net/2017/qccu/bizztools2015_budgetTest.php
When you press on the envelope in the middle you can send a form to yourself. I've added the code in the file that gets used to send the form to the person's email.
for ($i = 0; $i <= 79; $i++) { $item_Annual[$i] = number_format($_REQUEST['itemAnnualDisplay[$i]']); } Body: (each line of the form has a different value for $item_Annual) from 1 to 79 <TD bgcolor="#EEEEEE" align="left" valign="middle" height="1"><Font style="font-family:Arial; font-size: 12px;"><font color="#000000"> '.$currencySymbol.$item_Annual[1].' </TD>
for ($i = 0; $i <= 6; $i++) { $incomeSubtotal += $values[$i] * $periods[$i]; $itemAnnual[$i] = $values[$i] * $periods[$i]; $return['itemAnnualDisplay[$i]'] = $itemAnnual[$i]; } //New addtions are lines 3 and 4, the others were already there
Now, I've done some process of elimination and when testing to see if $periods[$i] and values[$i] would show up on the form, the values were zero for each. So each $itemAnnual[$i]is calculated to be $0. You can see from the form screenshot, the subtotals are calculating, but the individual items are not. Could this have anything to do with the form on the calculator page? It's in bootstrap.
Help please!!
i am writing this script for use as an include in joomla and the directphp plugin so in my joomla article i have: Code: [Select] <?php include 'test/conducttest.php'; conducttest(); ?> Ok now my issue! the form in this function is passing only the values for the last item in the loop rather than for the selected radio item when submitted. so when say for example the radio selected is: ID TEST TYPE UNIQUE TEST ID AVAILABLE 5 Adolescent Clinical 50021629 1 and the last item in the list is: ID TEST TYPE UNIQUE TEST ID AVAILABLE 4 Adult Clinical 12341629 1 When the form is submitted even if the 1st item is selected, it returns the value for the second one.
