PHP - Ftp List Html Files Php

Hey guys,

I'm very new to PHP so I apologize for any stupid mistakes or if I'm a little slow understanding things.

I have put together a small website and I wanted to use a PHP script to display a list of files and folders (and sub folders).

Basically a ghetto equivalent of an FTP page so I can apply CSS and make things look a little pretty.

I have the following code I found from Google that will display all of the files and folders, not perfect but it will work for now!  However I can't seem to work out the syntax to make them a hyperlink.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm pretty new to php and I'm furiously trying to get this code to list the folders/files alphabetically but to no avail! I'd really appreciate it if someone could take a look and guide me as to what to do, I'm pulling what little hair i have left out!

I can currently see the folder contents but the order is all over the place.

Hello everyone

I have two dropdown lists. First one you can see the tables of my db and the second one the files inside a folder. The problem is that i can't send my selections from the dropdown list to an other file.
My project is to choose a table, then a CSV file and then load the file in db.

Hello. I have a directory with files that look like this:

priceguide_20100809.pdf
priceguide_20100808.pdf
priceguide_20100807.pdf
priceguide_20100806.pdf

I am trying to come up with a function that will grab and save the filename with the biggest date .. ie: priceguide_20100809.pdf.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

I need a small help from you. I want to list all files & directories based on last file modification time of server. I want to list new files as first & old files as last.
Consider "files" as the directory name which contains all files & directories.

Please make the php code to display all files & directories from "files" directory based on last file modification time of server.

I have a folder containing files. I want to replace some characters in the file names (e.g. "_" with "-"), then make a list of new files (renamed ones).

I came accross this code on YouTube and it works great for listing the content of a folder that the .php file is in.
However, how can I alter this code to list files of all folders and sub-folders? I thought plugging in an asterik might
work on the "$path =" line, but it didn't.

I need some help with this. I created an index.php page and I inserted an include statement that referred to a header.html page. It works when working it in MS Webmatrix but when I put it on my server I only get my index.php page. My include statement will not get the header.html page. What am I doing wrong?  I also tried changing all of my files to .php extensions also and still the same.

Hopefully someone can help me out with this.

I have a HTML form wich contains basic textfields en checkboxes.
Beyond that i have a row with some dropdowns, but one of these fields in the row is a file field.

Also, the visitor is able to add a new row, when the user clicks add row, a new row with the same fields including a new file field appears.
This can be done as much as the user likes. The fiel field is optional though, it doesn't need to be filled.

All my textfields, checkboxes and dropdowns are coming through email nicely.

Only thing that isn't coming my way are the files i attach.

For the file fields i take it you need an array wich i have put in the form

Ok so here's what I'm trying to do and what I'm having to do since I can not figure out how to script this.    I create my GUI for scripting in HTML.  When I script I create a full HTML page for my input forms, one full HTML page for the error code and lastly one HTML page for the receipt when the script runs correct.  I then create my php scripting (basic template where I can cut and paste my HTML for the GUI output once it has been encapsulated in FULL be the php  print function after having the quotation marks escaped and replaced by a backslash follow by a quotation mark).   Currently and over the past Decade.  I have done this encapsulation the Hard way.  Meaning I build my HTML file in FrontPage. I save the HTML file and then I open it in Microsoft Notepad.  First thing I do is use the replace All function from the edit menu to Find every instance of " and replace them all with \" then I manually goto the first line of code and place a Tad then type print "  I then hold control and shift to copy the ( tab print ") and begin to paste manually using Ctrl V and then I hit the down arrow on my keyboard quickly followed by the Home button to drop my cursor down a line and input the beginning of my PHP print function encapsulation one frigging line at a time.  Once I've reach the very bottom, I go up the back right hand side of the HTML document with my ending quotation followed by semi colon manually with Ctrl V and hitting up arrow followed by end button.    This process of encapsulation the hard way with note pad takes up 90% of my dev time when programming.  It makes stuff easy to read in my code and is perfect for outputting.  What I would like to do is find a way to create a php script with a file upload form field that would take the input of any and all html files and parse the full document automating the exact process that I run on all of my HTML GUI files so that I can turn the encapsulation work into nothing and focus on the actual scripting.    You wouldn't believe how many hours of Ctrl V and up n down end and home I have pressed.  Spent 8 hours last night alone.  When form fields have multiple drop down selectors for country code ect.  the HTML files to encapsulate manually become Ridiculously long.    I have never seen or heard of anyone doing exactly what I've explained here as I know the print function used like this is not normal.  Every HTML file or snippet in any of my scripting is always encapsulated in the print function to output.  And I have no intentions on changing my style.  I would like to automate my process.  And if it is too complex for me to build it in a decent amount of time I am willing to pay good money to get this finished for me ASAP.   Please message me back ASAP as I'm working on a personal project that has over 2,000 HTML files for me to encapsulate a the minimum.   ~PJ

I have a pretty good understanding of what needs to be done, but actually implementing and accomplishing is difficult for me.

Im trying to break down hierarchy from an existing HTML list.
First Id like to point out that I am working with an HTML file that I must use, and cannot change, as the source.

I am rewriting onto another file, removing HTML, and so forth.  I have already accomplished this.  But what I would really like to keep the hierarchy structure by breaking it down first, so I can also use that later.

If im logically looking at this right
(1) Count <ul> entry and continue counting for each group
(2) Stop group count at end argument <ul></ul>
(3) The immediate next end argument </ul>, following (2), says to continue counting the previous group +1
(4) Repeat steps 1-3 until end
