PHP - Searching More Than 1 Field With Multiple Words

I found this regex, which is what I want, here:

(?=.*\bdog\b)(?=.*\bpuppet\b)(?=.*\bfuzzy\b)

It is suppose to 'succeed' if it can find all the given words in any order.   Yet, when I try to test it against this sequence of words (or any other order of these words):

need fuzzy hand puppet in dogpen for dog

I get no indication of a match.   What am I not understanding?

I am beginning to learn regex in php.  I was wondering why the following regex pattern wasn't finding the two words in the string and replacing them with welcome? '/(Hello).*?(Hi)/is'

I've been trying to go around with str_replace to replace numbers with words.
I have a database which has table actions. The actions are saved in numbers from 0 to 20.
I'd need to get something to replace the numbers with words to explain what actions these are.

I've tried using this.
$action1 = str_replace("5", "Command", "action1");
But that doesn't work. Not even 100% sure if that is even correct, because I am new to the str_replace thing anyway.

Could someone help me with this, please?

2) The problem is that I have multiple tables with the same structure to search e.g. (title, body)
a) how I will know the ROWS NUMBER returned by the search query? it doesn't look a smart way to query each table and them count the results, and this basically takes much time right?
b) when displaying the result, how I will be able to set the correct hyperlink for each result?
you know, each table is a different subject, each one is located in different folder.

Hi,   How can I select multiple columns from two tables and run a search through multiple fields?   My tables a   t_persons (holds information about persons) t_incidents (holds foreign keys from other tables including t_persons table)   What I want is to pull some columns from the two tables above and run a search with a LIKE criteria, something like below. The code originally worked well with only one table, but for two tables it generate errors:

Column 'IncidentDate' in where clause is ambiguous

Ok I'm trying to select the pet with the current eggid in the url. That part works fine, but when I try to select more than one color, it gets all messed up. Because I don't know how to do it and I can't find it on the internet anywhere.

It gets all messed up. It selects ALL the colors even if the eggid isn't the current eggid. So it displays the colors of all the pets that have those colors.. :/

Im trying to write some code for a raffle, when someone buys one ticket it works well but if someone buys ten tickets. i would like it to put each one on a new row, the last column is the ticket number which is got by another table called count and i want the new count in the last column of each row.

In the actual script there is more than two columns but this is an example just to try to let you know what im trying to do.

As you can see i want the ticket number to increment by one every time someone buys tickets. (the ticket number is in a simple table with just id and ticket number)

EXAMPLE someone buys 2 tickes

For instance if i set the following 2x variables;

"$varOne = $_GET[first_name]"
"$varTwo = $_GET[last_name]"
"$varThree = $_GET[userid]"

how do i insert them both together into a DB field for example:

$full = $varOne,$varTwo,$varThree (without the , )

this would then be echo as : joebloggs66985

i have the INSERT in there atm but i wanted to insert first name and last name together with there userid to generate a sort of username possibility.

This is my first real jump into PHP, I created a small script a few years ago but have not touched it since (or any other programming for that matter), so I'm not sure how to start this.

I need a script that I can run once a day through cron and take the date from one table/filed and insert it into a different table/field, converting the human readable date to a Unix date.

Table Name: Ads
Field: endtime_value (human readable date)

to

Table Name: Node
Field: auto_expire (Converted to Unix time)

Both use a field named "nid" as the key field, so the fields should match each nid field from one table to the next.  Following a tutorial I have been able to insert into a field certain data, but I don't know how to do it so the nid's match and how to convert the human readable date to Unix time.  Thanks in advance!.

I'm going crazy trying to do the following:
I'm making a job registration process where the user registers on one php page to the website, must acknowlege and email receipt using an activate php page, then is directed to upload their C.V. (resume) based on the email address they enter in the active page output. I then run an upload page to store the resume in teh MySQL db based on the users email address in the same record.

If I isolate the process of the user registering to the db, it works perfectly.
If I isolate the file upload process into the db, it works perfect.
I simply cannot upload teh file to the existing record based on teh email form field matching the user_email field in the db.
With the processes together, teh user is activated, but teh file is not uploaded.

Maybe I've simply been at this too long today, but am compeled to get through it by end day.
If anyone can help sugest a better way or help me fix this, I will soo greatly appreciate it.
