I have an hml page that uses option values and lets the user select values. the values are php pages which when they submit pass the chosen value to the next page I show a snip below. I wanted to have the form action grab the formVar passed to it- but I can't seem to get it going. I figure I just may not be putting the post in correctly- any help appreciated

Question:

How can I pass the form values dynamically from the index.php page so I don't have to hard code text1, text2 etc into the edit.php and process.php page and have a different update & process page for each set of data?

3 Step Passing Of Non-post $variables Between 2 Different Servers

I'm stuck at trying to figure out out to complete the 3 Step scripts to accomplish passing $variables between 2 different servers. Since there will actually be 12 Non-POST $variables involved in the SERVER #1 to SERVER #2 transfer , it doesn't appear that trying to put these all in a URL string and going the 'GET' route is practical. I'm just using 3 short test variables in the examples. My eyeballs started rolling within I ran across something about 'CURL' that might be a necessary part of the solution? Passing Post Data To A New Page With Header()

Greetings...

I have been staring at my whiteboard pondering a new architecture for processing data in an application. New for me anyways. I want to create a more centralized and modular method of handling data. For ease of explanation I will put it into the context of a login system which is where I first started thinking about this. I know there are a lot of login systems out there but I wanted to create one from scratch which utilizes PDO although that specific thing is not germane to my main question.

Here we go...

Lets say that for my Registration, Login and Forgot Password pages the forms on each page were directed to "Process.php"

The idea is that process.php will provide the centralized platform to deal with data, acting as a choke point in the application making it easier to secure. This will also provide the means to quickly develop new parts of an application knowing that my methods of dealing with data area already well defined and secure. There is one hole in the idea that I can see though. If the user data being submitted to the process.php page does not meet the security requirements then the user must be sent back to the previous page. I dont' want to lose the data they have already entered into the forms. ie. I want to have it appear in the form fields... makes sense right.

Now here comes my question... is there a way to pass POST data when using header("location: http://mySite/previousPage.php")

It seems from my experiments that the data is lost. I do not use header(); often. In previous designs I have usually created each part of a login system as seperate and self contained entities apart from using a common db object. I know there are other ways around this, using session data for instance but this idea has been eating away at me for a little while and I feel its time to ask around for some advice. It has become a matter of curiosity.

I have found some info on sending POST data using header but it did not seem to meet the requirement that the user and the POST data be sent to another page synchronously.

At first I thought that maybe I would just do validation on the frontend / view pages (not to be taken as clientside) and if it was valid, then submit it to process.php, validate it again the let it be handled appropriately to its particular end but then I run into the same problem plus there is the extra overhead of validating the data twice.

I guess thats it for now. Sorry if that was a little long-winded... its part of my process, helps me to better understand what I really want to know.

Using header() on a receiving page from a form page... the redirecting header() with POST data, sending the user to a new/previous page. Possible?

I know this is 'old stuff', but I am new to this and very frustrated- I am trying to pass a variable to a new url via an html onclick event, and failing. I have found several posts about it but the code posted in those posts does not work when I try it. I have struggled mightly with this.

Here is my code: first an echo of two versions of the onclick statement, and two versions of the actual button code. The echos from the two versions appear identical, but the first button with no variable works while the second using a variable results in no action. Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution? I suspect there is some simple principal I am missing relating to parsing strings.

Passing String Variable From Html Form To Another Php Script

I have a php string variable that is created by php code within an html form ($answer).
I need to pass this string variable along with all the html form input data to another php script specified with the form "action" (post method).

All the html form input data is coming thru fine but not the variable ($answer).

How do I do this?

Here is the php code for importing html form data at the script called in the form action:

$languages = $_POST['languages'];
$answergiven = $_POST['answergiven'];
$problemanswer = $_POST['$answer'];

'languages' and 'answergiven' are form inputs and come thru fine.
'$answer' does not get passed to the second script.

How do I do this?

Essentially what im trying to do is create and display a preview of an automatically generated email (which works) then i want the email (all of whoms code is contained in $emailcontent to be posted to the next page where it will actually send. However this does not seem to work.

Post Error With Two Arrays In Html Form

Hi,

I have an HTML and a PHP script inserting data into DB.
My problem is when i submit the form, one of the arrays cannot be posted to my PHP Script.
The first SELECT-OPTION Values (mail_select[]) are being posted correctly, however the second SELECT-OPTION Values (OS[]) are not. It brings empty value at all.
If i put OS[] SELECT TAG to first place, -i mean put it before mail_select[] SELECT TAG-, this time mail_select[] brings nothing. And OS[] is being posted correctly.

What could the possible problems be?

First post here, so feel free to flame me if im violating the rules somehow.

So, the issue is this: i built an ebay listing creator for a customer. it conssists of a form with several fields being posted to a page that assembles everything into a listing (text, images, radio buttons etc.). now, what i want to do is to easily allow the customer to copy the compiled source code into the clipboard (or a txt file, doesnt really matters) - in order to easily copy it into ebay. I tried it with CURL, but all i get is the source without the posted information. I must be missing something there.

Any help would be appreciated, if you need links or codes iv's used, ill provide.

Post Value Shows Only After The Second Form Submession? (ignore Last Post)

Hey Guys. I am working with a form that shows the grand total on the checkout page. The value of the grand total is inside a hidden field. When click on submit, the _POST array doesn't get back the last value of the grand total. I need to hit the button twice to get the last value. The weird thing is when I echo the value of the grand total it display the latest value, but not with the POST array For example. If the grand total is $10.00 and I click on submit. It will show the POST['grand_total'] as empty. If I click on submit again it will show the grand total of $10.00. Below is my code that I am working with. Any help would be really appreciated.
