PHP - If Adding Variable To Mysql
Hi im trying to set that if a certain statement is echoed then set variables to an amount but they dont seem to be inserting into the table

I was testing multiplications and additions and the result I got was unexpected. Whenever I update $latest_note, I also want this (and today's date) to be added to $notes, such that $notes becomes a sort of archive of all of the latest notes, listed by date. I tried creating a third variable called $full_notes and saying $full_notes = $latest_note.$notes; ... then when I run my mysql update, I set notes='$full_notes' but it's not working properly. Is there a way to simply add one variable to the beginning of another in the db directly, concatenating the two? Thanks Following from my previous post, i have a questionnaire and within each question it has the options to pick from raddio button (strongly agree, agree, disagree, N/A). For each value of each question i want to pass it into the relevant Field in my database but rather than overwriting the current value i want to be added on to it. Im trying to add some info to an existing cell in a mysql database. The cell currently reads: This is a piece of information. I would like to update the cell to read: This is a piece of information. a great piece of info. I have a variable with the following; $info = a great piece of info. I currently have php java to get my database results and limit the amount of data shown by a given value. The js includes buttons to go forward or backward in the database. Everything is all fine and dandy except I'm trying to add a very simple search for the user as well. I want the user to be able to select either "firstname" or "lastname" to search through the database and display the resulting rows based of the first three characters entered into the search criteria. How do you write the PHP to take the first number returned and add it to the next number returned (NOTE: There may be more than two numbers returned, but for now, I'm always dealing with two) For example, say I do a query that returns the number 27 first and then the number 10 second. FYI, these numbers will be available in the variable $diff['result']. So the code after the query would look something like this, but obviously i'm struggling with the part in comments...
