PHP - Explode Issues Or Alternate Insert Options

I've been using php's strstr() function to find data before an @ character in a string. Work fine for my local ide. I just uploaded all my files to a host to start debugging emails and it came to my attention that my hosting environment is running version 5.2.9 and strstr() isn't fully supported.

Heres a bit of code from the manual to show i'm talking about

I'm using a table to list results from a MySQL query.

I wanted to make the rows of the table alternate colours and found the following code on this website which does the job perfectly:

On my webpage i have six tables listing results from six MySQL queries and i use the above code after each query to construct the table and alternately colour the rows blue then white.

My problem arises when there are an odd number of rows in the first table.  This results in the first row of the second table being coloured white, not blue.

I would like the first row of each table to be blue.

Is there a simple way to reset the counter for each table?  Any advice much appreciated.

Without using FFMPEG that is, since my host refuses to allow it. I really don't want to change hosts just for this one thing, I'm happy otherwise, but I need this work.

I just need to grab a frame from a video when the user uploads the video. I can't use FFMPEG like I said, but I saw a suggestion someone had that said "have PHP open the video in fullscreen and take a screencap". That would work perfectly, I just have not a CLUE how to do it.

Does anyone have experience doing this? I just want it to grab a screenshot and have it saved as a jpg with the same filename as the video, for obvious reasons...call the video player and pass it the filename with a .jpg attached for the screenshot param.

Hopefully someone can help. I'm looking for some php script that allows me to display mysql table data in alternating row colors (eg 5 columns and  500 rows). I would also like to add pagination and limit number of rows displayed at a time to e.g. 50. If possible I'd like to be able to sort asc/desc using titles(links) at the top of the displayed data. Hopefully someone may have a script like this that also shows the mysql connection code (sample host, pass, user etc...) - a working php file so to speak that I can edit.
Would really appreciate the help. If you could recommend some software or a wizard that could generate the php code for me I would really appreciate it too!

Can anyone provide a snip of code that I could insert into the "coupon code" field on a formmail form which has the following effect:

on submit form, user goes to the normal payment page (this is already implemented)
if coupon code field is filled out with correct code, user is taken to alternate payment page on form submit.

Either this or another approach which has the same result is OK. I am a novice coder working in a wysiwyg - I don't REALLY know php at all - I just need a snip I can insert and a clear instruction.

Hi, I have an array for prices :

forfait="158|Group Session,95|Group half session,45|Private Course,90|zumba course" which is used in a dropdown list where it shows as Group Session (158$) Group half session (95$) etc...

The prices need to be used as an 'amount' field on the gift certificate as the descriptions must show as a 'label' on the gift certificate.

So, I need to ' explode ' both the prices and the descriptions separately.

I can 'explode' de prices using $tmp_forfait=explode("|", $value) and I get 158 95 45 and 90

But, how do I get the descriptions separately, without the prices meaning I need to 'explode' the digits and '|' ...
Anyone can help me with that cope please?

Ive got a text area and i want to seperate each link that is placed inside the text area,.

Is there a way using php exlode or somthing to reconise that the link has finished? Each of the links in the text area are on a new line.

I have a product database with a description column where there are strings broken into lines. I need to find a way to explode() by line break. Currently explode("/n") doesn't work - it only returns one array item. Can anyone help me out?

I store date data in MySql in this format DD-MM-YYYY , and now I need to explode this format when get information from database to get this:

How to explode this 3 values in day, month, year?

I am having a nightmare with an explode and cant get it to work. I am posting a string using JQuery to a PHP form which needs to explode the string into an indexed array to be inserted into a database.
 
This is what the string looks like "importance%5B101%5D=50&importance%5B100%5D=50&importance%5B99%5D=50&importance%5B98%5D=50"

The original array has been serialised into the above string. The arrayname is importance. The array's index (inside the square brackets) is referenced from an ID from the page.  The square brackets have been replaced by '%5B' and '%5D' and surround the array index by the JQuery. The value for each of these array items is shown as =50. So its basically the same as a GET when we have name=value&name1=value1etc')

How would i explode the string above to remove the '%5B' and '%5D' to make the '[' and ']' reappear and then from then it can be read as a GET post? like 'name=value&name1=value1etc'. Using the new array of that index ready to be inserted into a MySQL database.

Im going mad trying to solve this!!!

I have a database that is going to contain recepies and ingredients tables. The recipe table is going to store the ingredients like this:

1,5,6,8

This refers to the table ingredients id.

I now want to explode these vaules and count them up so they can be outputted like this:

sugar (2)
honey(1)
flour (3)

I have no idea of how to count all of the exploded id's and ouput them like above
