PHP - Limiting Number Of Post's Per User A Dy
hello all -
I have a social network for the cystic fibrosis community and we've had a spammer the passed couple of days. I have captchas set up and they work well, but in addition to those I want to limit the amount of blogs a user is allowed to post a day. I have been able to count and echo out the amount a user has made, but for some reason, when I use an if statement to stop the blog from posting it still post's. I have been working on this going on hour 8 now and need some major help Thanks in advnace. Here is my code Code: [Select] if(isset($_POST['subComposeBlog'])) { $query = "SELECT COUNT(`id`) FROM `cysticBlogs` WHERE `Author` = '".$auth."' && `date` = NOW() && `status` = 'active'"; $request = mysql_query($query,$connection) or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_fetch_array($request); $valid = true; if($_POST['Category'] == "null") { $valid = false; $error_msgs[] = "Whoops! Please select a category for this blog."; } if(empty($_POST['blogTitle'])) { $valid = false; $error_msgs[] = "Whoops! Cannot submit a blog without a title,how are you going to attract people's attention to read your masterpiece?"; } if(empty($_POST['blogBody'])) { $valid = false; $error_msgs[] = "Whoops! Cannot submit a blog without a body,that would not be a blog now would it?"; } if($result['COUNT(`id`)'] > 3) { $valid = false; echo "Whoops! You can only write three blogs per day due to spam"; } if($valid) { $query = "INSERT INTO `cysticBlogs` ( `blogTitle`, `blogBody`, `date`, `time`, `Author`, `Category` ) VALUES ( '" . mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['blogTitle']) ."', '" . mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['blogBody']) ."', '" . date("Y-m-d") ."', '" . date("G:i:s") ."', '" . $auth->id ."', '" . mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['Category']) ."')"; mysql_query($query, $connection) or die (mysql_error()); header("Location: BlogsSecurity.php"); } } Similar Tutorials1 Total number of likes work, but I'm guessing it can be done differently, any input would be appreciated. /controllers/indexController.php $posts = Post::find('all', [ 'limit' => 4, 'include' => ['likes'] ]); foreach ($posts as $post) { $post->assign_attribute('likeCount', count($post->likes)); } } /models/Post.php class Post extends ActiveRecord\Model { static $has_many = [ ['comments', 'class_name' => 'PostComments'], ['likes', 'class_name' => 'UserLikePosts'] ]; } /models/UserLikePosts.php class UserLikePosts extends ActiveRecord\Model { static $belongs_to = [ ['user'], ['post'] ]; }2 The big question is, how can I get a true/false for "if current user has liked post"? I was thinking something like this, but using vars won't work here, and I would have to use a ternary or a function call to do it like this as the session var might not be set (guest). class Post extends ActiveRecord\Model { static $has_many = [ ['comments'], ['likes', 'class_name' => 'UserLikePosts'], ['user_likes', 'class_name' => 'UserLikePosts', 'conditions' => ['user_id = ?', [$_SESSION['user']['id']]] ]; } Edited by JimL, 21 June 2014 - 03:36 PM. Hi. Trying to use the "Excerpt or Content Word Limit in WordPress: Redux" code to limit my Amazon product description content but to no avail. Getting the "Fatal error: Call to undefined function content() in index.php on line 36". The following is the code in the index.php file that makes the call: " <div class="post-content"> <?php content(30); ?> <!-- <?php the_post_excerpt($excerpt_length=30); ?> --> </div><!-- POST CONTENT --> " The functions.php file is quite large but I attached it so anyone who would like to take a look at it. Can anyone tell why it's not finding the function 'content'? Thanks! I have a string in the form of "word1-word2-word3-word4-word5-word-6-word7", but I want to shorten it to 5 words only. Hi, Newbie! I need to generate a unique number and put it in a field called "intInstD" value ="123456" to send to Paypoint to initiate an order. They insist each order from my website has a unique number. Can anyone help with a bit of code that does this please? Much appreciated zzdave Hi all - I'm setting up a custom PHP blog. It pulls the data from a MySQL database which includes HTML tags (<p><div><span> etc...). I would like to display only up to 50 words per post on the blog page, which users can then read and click a link to then see the entire post. I've developed some code which does this, however, it seems to be stripping my HTML tags... Very sad! Would be very very grateful if one (or more) of you kind lot would have a look at my code and let me know if there is a easier (I'm all for easy) and proper way of implementing this so that it works without stripping my HTML tags. Cheers!!! Code: [Select] // Counts number of blog words in the content $blog_content_words = str_word_count($blog["content"], 1); // Sets the blog_words variable to 0 $blog_words = 0; // Prints title on page as a permalink to a post echo '<h1><a href="blog.php?id='.$blog["id"].'">'.$blog["title"].'</a></h1><p>'; // Loops while blog_word is under 50 while($blog_words < 50) { // Prints a word from blog_content_words array of blog post and adds a space afterwards echo $blog_content_words["$blog_words"]." "; // Adds 1 to the blog_words counter ++$blog_words; } // Adds a read more link to the post which links to full blog post echo '... <a href="blog.php?id='.$blog["id"].'">[read more]</a></p>'; The Script:
<?php echo "<h1>The Hashtag: </h1>"; echo $_GET['hashtag']; ?>An example for the URL on localhost: /search.php?hashtag=#xboxIf I am not using the number sign, then the word "xbox" does get printed on screen, if I do use the number sign then the hashtag "#xbox" does not get printed on screen. Any suggestions on how to do this? I am having trouble on user post = rank This is the rank table: ----------------- post | rank ----------------- 0 | Noob 10 | Member 50 | Metal 100 | Silver 200 | Gold $user_post="120"; $query_rank=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM rank WHERE post<='$user_post' OR post>='$user_post'") or die ("Error"); while ($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($query_rank)){ $rank=$row['rank']; } echo "User Rank: $rank"; The above code output: User Rank: Gold The right output should be: User Rank: Silver Please help It will be better if someone willing to share a better ranking code. Hey fellas, and ladies, and all you other php wize's. Names mike and I'm new to php and mysql. Ive done alot of self study but have no formal training at all. I am pretty much just winging my code from w3 schools and other php online codeing helps. I am currently making a registration script for my site, and have hit a bit of a snag. Her is the current code for my regpass.php. <?php include('srvdbcon.php'); $NewUserNameTest=$_POST['NewUserName']; if(!ereg('[^A-Za-z0-9]',$NewUserNameTest)) { $query="SELECT * FROM user WHERE user ='$_POST(NewUserName)'"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_num_rows($result); if($num == 0) { $query2="SELECT * FROM user WHERE email ='$_POST(NewUserEmail)'"; $result2=mysql_query($query2); $num2=mysql_num_rows($result2); if ($num2 == 0) { if(($_POST[NewUserPw]==$_POST[NewUserPwCon])&&($_POST[NewUserEmail]==$_POST[NewUserEmailCon])) { //Create a random code $confirm_code=md5(uniqid(rand())); //HACK PREVENTION $name=strip_tags($_POST['NewUserName']); $email=strip_tags($_POST['NewUserEmail']); $pw=strip_tags($_POST['NewUserPw']); //Insert Information Into Temp Code $sql="INSERT INTO temp SET code='$confirm_code',user='$name', email='$email', password='$pw'"; $result=mysql_query($sql); if($result) { $message="SCG.O Confirmation \r\n"; $message="Enter this confirmation code into confirmation page.\r\n"; $message="Enter code into confirmation: $confirm_code"; $sentmail=mail("$email",'Registration Confirmation',"$message",'From: SCGAdmin@uprisetechnology.com'); header("Location:index.php"); } else { die ("Something went wrong."); } } else { die("Password And / Or Email does not match the confirmation entry"); } } else { die("Email Already in Use"); } } else { die("Username already in use"); } } else { die("Username includes Bad Characters."); } ?> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem I am having is the code executes up to Confirming email and password with the confirming. I have checked, and double checked, the names of the variables $NewUserEmail $NewUserEmailCon $NewUserPw $NewUserPwCon When I click the register button it runs the regpass.php but I am getting the Die results for Error with matching confirmations. Any help would be appreciated. I know it is not the neatest codeing, nor is it probably logical to more vast programmers, but I am learning, and programming accourding to my own logic so I can understand it. Thanks. The code does not post anything to the mysql db but everything else is set up properly. The DB works, I have created this kind of script before with help from others, but this one is using my logic so I can understand the code. Thanks again. NeverBeGosu

I don't know what the user selects, he may choose different select boxes, any number of select boxes. So, based upon the user selection, I need to generate the data. The data fields to be generated would be almost same. So, How would I know what the user selection is and how many select boxes has been selected and how could I generate different data based upon selected boxes. I had to make a small note abt this, that the data generation fields may change for some of the user select combinations, but most of the result fields would be same. so, can you please help me out, how to do, how to make different combination data generations, because, i had 8 fields, i had to make 8! combinations, that would result in a big code. This topic has been moved to Application Design. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=326408.0 Hello, Have a question that i hope some one can help me answer. I have started creating a facebook app that will translate lovepoems. The problem im having is that facebook redirects everything wrong, which makes my life a living hell. So what i thought is it's possible to while submitting the form and the user gets redirected to the facebook allow app page, wait with submitting the form or maybe bring the post id with me and then post the content to the db liked to the post from a different page. simply so i don't have to make the accept form and then go to the actual content? Answers most appreciated! Best Regards GrundeLL EDIT *** I'm using facebook PHP SDK Hi, I'm working on a web application that will interact with an existing website from another company. On the other company's site, there will be a form (using POST) that has my web application as the action element. The user who clicked the submit button will be redirected to my site, where I need to receive the $_POST data from this form to process before redirecting into the web application. I have done work on the other side, using standard form posts to send data to another site, but I've never had to write the code for the receiving end. How do I receive the form data posted from the other website? Can I access the $_POST[''] array as I would with any normal same-site POST transaction? Please let me know if you need additional detail or if my question wasn't clear! I'm fast approaching deadlines and really appreciate your help! Thanks! I'm getting the dreaded " Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens" error and I've looked at this for days. Here is what my table looks like:
| id | int(4) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | user_id | int(4) | NO | | NULL | | | recipient | varchar(30) | NO | | NULL | | | subject | varchar(25) | YES | | NULL | | | cc_email | varchar(30) | YES | | NULL | | | reply | varchar(20) | YES | | NULL | | | location | varchar(50) | YES | | NULL | | | stationery | varchar(40) | YES | | NULL | | | ink_color | varchar(12) | YES | | NULL | | | fontchosen | varchar(30) | YES | | NULL | | | message | varchar(500) | NO | | NULL | | | attachment | varchar(40) | YES | | NULL | | | messageDate | datetime | YES | | NULL |Here are my params: $params = array( ':user_id' => $userid, ':recipient' => $this->message_vars['recipient'], ':subject' => $this->message_vars['subject'], ':cc_email' => $this->message_vars['cc_email'], ':reply' => $this->message_vars['reply'], ':location' => $this->message_vars['location'], ':stationery' => $this->message_vars['stationery'], ':ink_color' => $this->message_vars['ink_color'], ':fontchosen' => $this->message_vars['fontchosen'], ':message' => $messageInput, ':attachment' => $this->message_vars['attachment'], ':messageDate' => $date );Here is my sql: $sql = "INSERT INTO messages (user_id,recipient, subject, cc_email, reply, location,stationery, ink_color, fontchosen, message,attachment) VALUES( $userid, :recipient, :subject, :cc_email, :reply, :location, :stationery, :ink_color, :fontchosen, $messageInput, :attachment, $date);"; And lastly, here is how I am calling it: $dbh = parent::$dbh; $dbh->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_WARNING); if (empty($dbh)) return false; $stmt = $dbh->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute($params) or die(print_r($stmt->errorInfo(), true)); if (!$stmt) { print_r($dbh->errorInfo()); }I know my userid is valid and and the date is set above (I've echo'd these out to make sure). Since the id is auto_increment, I do not put that in my sql (though I've tried that too), nor in my params (tried that too). What am I missing? I feel certain it is something small, but I have spent days checking commas, semi-colons and spelling. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to monitor how long someone is on a website for and to limit them for example: 30 minutes. An example of this would be one of those Tv Online websites which allow you to only watch 30 minutes of video time. If you try refreshing the page it will still not allow you. My question is, Is it an ip check which does this? Sorry If it such a broad topic. Nick Im not sure f this is the right spot for this or not but... I have a website that has a content box that has a fixed height and width. How would i make it so after the box is full it puts a link to read more at the bottom of it? Also images may be used as well. Its also for a wordpress blog OMG! Crafting well thought out business logic is such a PITA sometimes! I am working on an ecommerce site that sells subscriptions, books, gear, etc. Similar to a lot of online newspapers, I have a "Subscribe" button in my website mast where people can buy a subscription. After clicking on that button, the user is first presented with different subscription offers (e.g. sliver, gold, platinum), and then I have a one-page checkout form where they create an account - kind of important for an online subscription! - and they pay with a credit card. Easy! Trying to be a nice guy, I decided to add the ability to choose a subscription from my online store as well. (Presumably you want to offer as many ways for people to buy things from you as possible, right?) Well here is the issue I just discovered... What happens if a person is browsing through my product catalog, and they add multiple subscriptions to their shopping cart? Of course I would welcome the extra $$$, but I just realized that would break how people create their accounts and pay, because above I assume that ONE person, buys ONE subscription and pays for it in ONE transaction. So my questions is, "Would it be a mortal sin to limit people to buying only ONE subscription at a time if they do so while in my online store?" I would hope that people would get that, but as we know, users do some crazy stuff!! In fairness, if you went to buy a subscription at the Wall Street Journal or any other large newspaper/magazine, you would be forced to do one subscription per transaction. I am just wondering what happens if someone goes on a shopping spree in my online store, buys several books, some t-shirts, and decides he/she also wants to buy 5 subscriptions on the spot. Thoughts?
Hey there - I have been trying to limit the number of comments a user can make per day on my social network. Thanks to great help on here I am getting really close, however, there are some bugs that have me banging my head against the wall. I am able to limit, but now, its 1. not limiting PER day and limiting all around ( meaning: I can't make any comments at all today ) 2. it is limiting for EVERY user as opposed to limiting a specific user Here is the code I have: Code: [Select] if(isset($_POST['commentProfileSubmit'])) { if($_POST['ProfileComment'] == "" || $_POST['ProfileComment'] == "Tell the community what's on your mind...") { $valid = false; $error_msgs_comments[] = "Whoops! You forgot to write your airwave."; }else{ if($_POST['ProfileComment'] == "" || $_POST['ProfileComment'] == "Leave ".$prof->first_name." a comment here...") { $valid = false; $error_msgs_comments[] = "Whoops! You forgot to write your comment."; }else{ /* if the person signed in is NOT the profile */ $query = "SELECT * FROM `cysticUsers` WHERE `id` = '" . $prof->id . "'"; $request = mysql_query($query,$connection) or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_fetch_array($request); $max_post_per_day = 5; $Email = $result['Email']; $check_profi = $result['check_profi']; $check_reply = $result['check_reply']; if($prof->id != $auth->id && $check_profi == 'checked' && $max_post_per_day < 5) { $to = $Email; $subject = "$auth->first_name $auth->last_name commented on your profile on CysticLife"; $message = "$auth->first_name $auth->last_name commented on your profile on CysticLife: <br /><br />\"$body\"<br /><br /> <a href='http://www.cysticlife.org/Profile_build.php?id=" . $prof->id . "' AND `ToUserID` = '" . $prof->id . "' AND `id` != '" . $just_inserted . "'"; $request = mysql_query($query,$connection); } } } } thanks so much in advanced Ok so here's my code first the ajax/javascript, secondly the php. Issue i'm having is that first it wasn't entering any data into my database then eventual through much troubleshooting I figured out that if I add more then 10 variables in my INSERT INTO query it wont work. Ten or less and it works perfect. I CAN NOT figure this out?! Note, at the bottom of the php script I have the script that I would like to work, commented out, and the script that is currently working, active. You can see it only has 10 working entries. Code: [Select] function entervehicle(){ var stk = document.getElementById("stk").value var my = document.getElementById("my").value var mak = document.getElementById("mak").value var mod = document.getElementById("mod").value var mil = document.getElementById("mil").value var pri = document.getElementById("pri").value var bst = document.getElementById("bst").value var len = document.getElementById("len").value var eng = document.getElementById("eng").value var dor = document.getElementById("dor").value var tra = document.getElementById("tra").value var gvw = document.getElementById("gvw").value var inc = document.getElementById("inc").value var exc = document.getElementById("exc").value var cfo = document.getElementById("cfo").value var titl = document.getElementById("titl").value var desc = document.getElementById("desc").value var vin = document.getElementById("vin").value var pic1 = document.getElementById("pic1").value var pic2 = document.getElementById("pic2").value var pic3 = document.getElementById("pic3").value var pic4 = document.getElementById("pic4").value var pic5 = document.getElementById("pic5").value var pic6 = document.getElementById("pic6").value var pic7 = document.getElementById("pic7").value var pic8 = document.getElementById("pic8").value var pic9 = document.getElementById("pic9").value var linksubmit ="../php/entervehicle.php?stk=" + stk +"&my=" + my +"&mak=" + mak +"&mod=" + mod +"&mil=" + mil +"&pri=" + pri +"&bst=" + bst +"&len=" + len +"&eng=" + eng +"&dor=" + dor +"&tra=" + tra +"&gvw=" + gvw +"&inc=" + inc +"&exc=" + exc +"&cfo=" + cfo +"&titl=" + titl +"&desc=" + desc +"&vin=" + vin +"&pic1=" + pic1 +"&pic2=" + pic2 +"&pic3=" + pic3 +"&pic4=" + pic4 +"&pic5=" + pic5 +"&pic6=" + pic6 +"&pic7=" + pic7 +"&pic8=" + pic8 +"&pic9=" + pic9 alert(linksubmit); var entrequest = getHTTPObject(); if(entrequest) { entrequest.open("GET",linksubmit,true); entrequest.onreadystatechange = function(){ entveh(entrequest); }; entrequest.send(null); } } function entveh(entrequest){ if(entrequest.readyState == 4){ if(entrequest.status == 200){ var myPHP = entrequest.responseText; document.getElementById("adminmain").innerHTML = myPHP; } } } <?php $stk = $_GET['stk']; $my = $_GET['my']; $mak = $_GET['mak']; $mod = $_GET['mod']; $mil = $_GET['mil']; $pri = $_GET['pri']; $bst = $_GET['bst']; $len = $_GET['len']; $eng = $_GET['eng']; $dor = $_GET['dor']; $tra = $_GET['tra']; $gvw = $_GET['gvw']; $inc = $_GET['inc']; $exc = $_GET['exc']; $cfo = $_GET['cfo']; $titl = $_GET['titl']; $desc = $_GET['desc']; $vin = $_GET['vin']; $pic1 = $_GET['pic1']; $pic2 = $_GET['pic2']; $pic3 = $_GET['pic3']; $pic4 = $_GET['pic4']; $pic5 = $_GET['pic5']; $pic6 = $_GET['pic6']; $pic7 = $_GET['pic7']; $pic8 = $_GET['pic8']; $pic9 = $_GET['pic9']; require("database.php"); $tresult = mysql_query("INSERT INTO automobile_stat (stock_number,model_year, make, model, miles, price, body_style, length, description, trans) VALUES ('$stk', '$my', '$mak', '$mod', '$mil', '$pri', '$bst', '$len', '$desc', '$tra')"); /*$tresult = mysql_query("INSERT INTO automobile_stat (stock_number, model_year, make, model, miles, price, body_style, length, description, engine, doors, trans, gvw, int_color, ext_color, car_fax_owner, title_desc, main_picture_src, vin) VALUES ('$stk', '$my', '$mak', '$mod', '$mil', '$pri', '$mpri', '$bst', '$len', '$desc', '$eng', '$dor', 'tra', '$gvw', '$inc', '$exc', '$cfo', '$titl', 'img', '$vin')");*/ /*$tresult=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM automobile_stat" ); $countrows = mysql_num_rows($tresult); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($tresult)){ echo $row[stock_number]; }*/ mysql_close($linkID); ?> |
