PHP - Adding Info To An Existing Mysql Cell. Is It Possible?
Im trying to add some info to an existing cell in a mysql database.
The cell currently reads: This is a piece of information. I would like to update the cell to read: This is a piece of information. a great piece of info. I have a variable with the following; $info = a great piece of info. Is it possible to add $info to the existing cell via php eg. <?php mysql_query("UPDATE mytable SET info = '$info' WHERE row = '$row'"); ?> all fine except I dont want to SET the info to $info I simply want to add $info onto the end of the existing data in the info record. Is this possible and how do i change the above query and go about it? Im now looking to add a image uplad field the the same form. I have tried several methods off the internet but i cant get any to work. I would like the form to upload the image into the directory '../images' and then save the path to the file in the database, e.g. 'images/picture.jpg'. With add_answer, I am not able to insert an answer. This has worked for the very first question, but all subsequent questions, I am unable to add answers. It keeps telling me ERROR. I used to code a long time ago - PHP5. It is slowly coming back to me but not fast enough... I need to copy data from a mysql data base and put it back in unchanged with another date reference. This is a calorie recorder that tracks daily calories - food type, calories, protein, carbs, etc. I simply want to take each entry in that day, then copy it exactly except changing the date recerence. If I could say "copy all entires where date = (date) into DB with new date (date), that would do it. The only thing I can think to do is pull each item out and place it back into the DB with a while statement. There has to be an easier way... If that is my only option, I need to figure out how to create a while statement to handle an array to do the job. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help!! So that each user is able to see how many promotion points they have... Now, I'm a beginner in mysql and php, but feel I'm learning fairly quickly. What I need help with, is to be able to display the amount of promotion points for the logged in user. I created a new field in my "essenti1_Users" table for the promotion code. database is called "essenti1_membership" table is "essenti1_Users" feild is "promo" I think im going to have to manually add the points to each user manually through phpMyAdmin Navicat unfortunatly.
